doesn't hurt at all. My dr. ripped mine off when I went to my first post op appointment because they hadn't fallen off on their own. -

Signs that my pouch is full? and other questions
LifetimeLoser posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hello, So I am 12 days post op and I have a few questions, actually. First, I am still on my full liquid phase. I start purees tomorrow. 1. How to tell if my pouch is full? I'm not really sure what I feel. I do get the hiccups if I drink too much. I'm trying to "feel" whatever it is I'm supposed to, but still not quite sure. I know when I'm not hungry and I haven't pushed my pouch at all. I haven't eaten or drank anything I'm not supposed to...is this why I don't know what it is that my pouch is full 2. Can my pouch even get full on liquids? I know that food can fill it up because it takes time to digest and filter through the stoma, but do liquids work differently? Does it just kind of go right through? 3.I think I've hit a stall. It's been like 4 days since the scale has budged!!! The 2 weeks before surgery I lost 13 pounds and then the week after I lost another 10. Could this be my 3 week stall??? I'm frustrated hitting a stall only a week after surgery. 4. Is marinara sauce okay to eat on pureed stage? I made some beef stew with it, but wondering if this is good because I know it has sodium and some sugar (from the tomatoes). 5. I still have a bruised feeling in the left part of my belly near some of my incisions. Is this normal? I feel like it should be gone by now. It isn't constant, but with certain movements. It is the worst when I lift my arms over my head and stretch out my belly. I don't have a fever or anything like that. 6. I get dizzy and light headed when I bend over. And slightly out of breath? Does anyone know why this happens and when it will go away? Please help!!! -

I agree...moving to the pureed stage is heavenly. Today was my first day as well. I blended up some beef stew with greek yogurt! and I blended up some canned chicken with greek yogurt. looks disgusting, but tastes sooo good compared to full liquids -
Signs that my pouch is full? and other questions
LifetimeLoser replied to LifetimeLoser's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
thanks so much. I think I was confused because my nurse/nutritionist kept calling my stomach a pouch...I don't really think they meant in such a literal term. But it is helpful to understand what is exactly happening in there. -
Wondering about my post op recovery
LifetimeLoser replied to Katrina Parsons Colemire's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Hello, I have that same pain on the left side of my abdomen. It was actually getting better, then this morning it was hurting a lot. It worried me so I called my nurse that is part of my program. According to what she said, it is not very common, but sometimes it could be to the sensitivity of your body to the instruments that went through the layers...or the angle. I had 4 incisions. She basically said as long as I don't have any other problems like fever, bruising, hot to the touch, then I should be okay. I think it just needs time. It is nice to hear that someone else has the same problem (well I'm sorry you have the same problem) because I was starting to freak out in my head. -
Month post op
LifetimeLoser replied to MissTiffany203's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
mmmm yeah I came out of surgery with the only thing taking away my thirst was ice water or ice. I never had that problem. I'm sorry I'm of no help. I hear you on the calorie deficit. Some days I only get like 200 calories...I'm 12 days post op. -
found a tolerable clear liquid protein.
LifetimeLoser replied to katikati's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Yeah I hear you on that. My NUT had suggested the clear isopure ready to go bottles prior to surgery. Since I wanted to be prepared for my post op liquid phase I bought like 5 bottles of it...all in different flavors. After drinking them, I found that MANGO PEACH IS YUCKY! But I really like the grape and orange flavor. Many people I know can't stand the flavor of these things, but I like them just fine. And you are right! There is a weird after taste/feeling everytime. They are expensive, but when that was basically all I was drinking/eating in a day...it wasn't that bad. I just bought a case of the grape to get me through my week of full liquids. On the plus side my 2 year old daughter likes them too. I'm really not sure if she should be drinking them, but I figure its better than juice. -

Thank you everyone. I feel much better. It's so difficult to tell sometimes because the nurses don't go through every little thing with you. -

Hiccups after meals

What is your post-op full liquid meal for the day like?
LifetimeLoser replied to Chubarella's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
My approach is a little different. I take a bottle of grape frost isopure and sip that throughout the day. I then take some yogurt measure it out to about a half of a cup and add my nectar powder to it and will "eat" that a couple times of day. It is too difficult to measure out my yogurt and nectar powder etc. because it is such a small amount that I eat at a sitting. It is better for me to just know I had this amount during the whole day. I was eating watered down cream soups, but there was no protein in there so I stopped that. I have no problem drinking water throughout the day. Last night I made beef stew and drank the broth...oooooh heavenly! But yeah instead of measuring out each meal it is easier for me to just measure for the whole day and then aim to eat/drink whatever it is. And I add it into my fitness pal so I can see what the protein is etc. -

I am pretty happy actually. I just had my 1 week dr.s appointment today and everything is healing well. And I've lost 10lbs my first week with basically no exercise! I can't wait until the end of the month! When is your date set? Yellow, green as long as its not black and blue! But my bruising is almost gone so yeah skinny yellow green spoon sounds good to me. bwuahahahah
