    No energy !

Thank you for the posts and the suggestion to use fruit. I am 10 days out, getting my protein in, taking my vitamins and drinking my water yet I feel soooo weak. Any and all suggestions are welcome!
  2. Yes, you definitely need some meds for nausea. I was sent home with them and took them the first few days like clockwork. My stomach was also painful and full of pressure and tightness. I was also sent home with pain meds and took them like clockwork the first 4-5 days. Walk too....that helps with the pain. Best wishes.

    ISO Low BMI Sleeve Mentor

Hi Zane's Mom- I went back to work Monday and for the most part it has gone well. I have been exhausted in the evenings and Tuesday and yesterday I have been weaker...I guess due to the lack of calories. I am doing better at getting my fluid and protein in now so I think that is/will help. Still feeling a little "out of sorts" but I've read that's pretty normal. How are you??
  5. Day back to work went great! I was a little worn out from getting ready this morning, but once I made it to work I was great the rest of the day! Much better than I expected! Had several meetings and took my water/protein drink with me but I still don't think I got in enough fluid. I cannot stand the clear protein drinks. I have tried many different ways but so far I can't drink a lot. They leave a terrible feeling in my mouth after drinking them. So other than that it is great. Helped me to feel back to "normal" again!
  6. I am glad you are doing well post op. Every day gets easier! I think (with emphasis on think) that we'll keep the same thread. There are several November threads though...even one for those that had surgery the week of 11/17....so new ones could keep popping up. If you want to comment on a particular post you can click on the post (I am using the mobile version on my iPad) and it automatically gives you the option to like, quote, flag, etc. you can click on quote and that post will pull down in to your reply. I hope this helps!
  7. @@TrimTrekker I have thought about the 2nd part of your message above too! I don't plan on telling anyone until I have achieved some level of success. There are many people I know that could benefit from living a healthier lifestyle and loosing weight. I chose this path because I had literally tried everything else and saw this as my last hope. I hope I can help others who may benefit from this as well.

    Any November sleevers ?

I had mine on 11/19 as well. You can start puréed foods 4 days out? That is awesome! I am supposed to wait 2 weeks but can't imagine waiting that long. I am not doing a good job getting all of my protein in because I can't stand the high protein drinks and am not able to drink enough to get enough with the lower protein drinks. I am headed back to work tomorrow and am concerned about how I am going to get all the protein and fluids in during a busy day. I can't wait to hear what you eat first!
  9. I had surgery 11/19 and am going back to work tomorrow. My only concern is how I am going to get all my fluids and protein in while being busy all day and I can only take sips at a time. I have a "desk" job but I am in a lot of meetings most days. Has anyone else run in to this?

    I HAD MY SURGERY

I finally figured out last that if I pull my stomach muscles in it helps to subside a lot of the pain. I was so use to holding my stomach in before surgery and had not been doing it post surgery until now. The difference in pain is unbelievable. I keep thinking "was I supposed to be doing this the whole time"...."did someone tell me this and I missed it?". I hope I didn't damage anything by not doing it the first few days.
  11. Hang in there, it will get better. You are doing the right thing by walking. Day 2 was the absolute worse for me. I was so full of pain and pressure from the gas and sore from the surgery. Kept walking in between naps and focused on staying hydrated more than consuming protein. I woke up the 3rd day, yesterday and felt 100 times better. I then read more posts that said the first 48 hours are the worst. I was questioning what I had done too. This was elective for me too so I was really upset with myself. But like I said yesterday was great. Still have some soreness but nothing I can't handle, especially with pain meds, which I am going to try to stop today. As for your heart beat fluctuations....could it be due to the pain and something that will also pass. I am so sorry you are having these problems. Hang in there. It will get better.
  12. I didn't drink it all at one time. I drank it 3 times throughout the day (or maybe even 4) to get in the whole bottle. The rest of the day I sipped on a protein shot diluted with water, plain water and unsweetened, decaf tea. I guess I am drinking constantly. I have noticed that I get a pressure/burning feeling sometimes when I drink so I have been trying to remember to take smaller sips with more time in between. I also walk and drink sometimes to help get it down and it does seem to help. I have seen on here that someone else makes sure they sit completely straight up and that helps too. I hope this helps.

Surgery 2 days ago. What now?!

I am trying to be ready to go back to work Monday too. It sounds like you are experiencing some of the same things I am. Try to walk as much as possible and if you are laying around try it change positions often. I have the burning feeling when I drink too so I keep reminding myself to take smaller sips with more time in between. Sometimes I walk while I drink because I think it helps to make it go down. I have also been getting my pain meds in like clock work so my body doesn't have a chance to let the pain in. Taking deep breaths hurts but helps too to stretch everything out. I am going to try to ween myself off the pain meds today so I can be ready for work Monday morning. You may have tried all that I have mentioned and if so I would call your Dr just to bee on the safe side....especially if you can't keep anything down....you could become dehydrated and that would be even worse. Hang in there.

When you take the Prilosec...do you break apart the capsule or are you swallowing it whole.
  15. I've been thinking the same thing. I think it would be ok as long as the soup has been strained so there are no food pieces swallowed. I think creamy soups are part of the full liquid diet, which based on the guidance I was given can start on day 3 post - op.
