Sleeve revised to switch. No weight loss
ASwinton replied to pattivalvo's topic in Duodenal Switch Surgery Forum
I am 5 yrs post op sleeve, and 3 mons post op SIPS. I am loosing really slow in pounds, but inches are coming off. I was around 282 on day of surgery, and now I am bouncing between 263-267. Been fluctuating like this forever it seems. Although both my bariatric team and my nut are happy with my progress. -
SIPS 9/11/17. I'm a revision so weight loss is slow, but no complaints. Sent from my LG-LS993 using BariatricPal mobile app

My father will be getting DS done abroad. How long will he need to convalesce before traveling back to the US?
ASwinton replied to StephanieLeigh's topic in Duodenal Switch Surgery Forum
When I had the sleeve 5 yrs ago, I felt no pain. I was in the hospital the same amount of time with both procedures. However, I felt way more pain with the SIPS, modified DS. My energy was non existent for a couples of weeks, and I personally needed a bit more help with the SIPS than the sleeve. Sent from my LG-LS993 using BariatricPal mobile app -
VSG conversion to DS or SADI/Loop
ASwinton replied to globaljuju's topic in Duodenal Switch Surgery Forum
I had my sleeve Dec. 2012. Lost 120ish LBS, gained about 60 LBS of that back. I am now almost 2 mons out from conversion/revision to SIPS/SADI/LOOP. So far I'm doing good. I'm not sure how much I actually weigh at the moment or how much I lost. This time I'm only getting on the scale at any of my drs/nut appointments, I can say I went from a 4x/5x to a 2x. Is this thread for DS and others, e.g., loop?
ASwinton replied to BabettesFeast's topic in Duodenal Switch Surgery Forum
I had the loop 9/11/17. I completely understand. It is hard to find a place in the DS community where people don't give a hard time about the loop. Sent from my LG-LS993 using BariatricPal mobile app -
I'm the opposite. I'm actually allergic to eggs and chicken, but for some reason just egg whites don't bother me too much. Sent from my LG-LS993 using BariatricPal mobile app

It is. I use egg whites, a sprinkle of cheese for my scrambled eggs. That is generally my go to right now. I found the egg whites didn't sit as heavy as regular eggs. Sent from my LG-LS993 using BariatricPal mobile app

It truly is a chore. On top of not being hungry, I'm paranoid about what too eat, and how I could hurt myself. Like even a twinge scares me. Sent from my LG-LS993 using BariatricPal mobile app

That sounds yummy. I have one more week before I start purees. I think liquids are starting to get to me. I have one area on the right that keeps hurting, sometimes it hurts so bad it feels like it is on fire. My PA says that deep in there is another incision and I must be pulling it. She said for a lot of ppl that is where they hurt the most, and the longest. I'm glad to hear you're doing good.
-
Hi y'all. Just wanted to check in and see how everyone is doing. I'm feeling better every day. Still have ine area in my belly that hurts a lot depending on my movement. Struggling to get my protein in, but get my liquids in. Ready for my puree stage to start for sure.

To be honest I feel like crap. I didn't feel pain in the hospital, I never took anything, but today everything hurts. My legs, tummy, back and arms. Not what I was expecting for sure.

Good luck everyone, prayers

how much weight will I need to lose before WLS? BMI is 65
ASwinton replied to MNgirl1234's topic in Duodenal Switch Surgery Forum
When I had my sleeve surgery done in 2012 (the only surgery my dr did. The hospital was not set up for anything else, military), my BMI was 72. I am currently on week 3 of a 5 week pre-op for SIPS. My current surgeon wants my BMI under 60, the closer to 50 the better. Sent from my LG-LS993 using BariatricPal mobile app -
I just wanted to say hi. I am having SIPS on 9/11. I am praying yhat the swallow isn't as bad as when I had the sleeve done. I cried because it was thick and gross and I couldn't swallow it down fast enough and there were 4 ppl in the room fussing at me. I wish you much success and health.

I know there is a lot of controversy over it, but I swear by Genepro. It was recommended by my Dr. and Nut. Sent from my LG-LS993 using BariatricPal mobile app
