Dizzyness, cold sweats 3 months out
AussieLady replied to MrsGina's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Could be low blood pressure. Are you keeping your fluids up? -
This surgery has been lauded as the latest and greatest thing, but it's relatively new and I am really afraid of the long term effects now. No-one knows what they are. We really are like the guinea pigs for future generations. I hope long term it's good, but who knows really?

Maybe there's more of us out there who feel this way, but are laying low because we feel like the failures!

Hmmm, didn't think of that, but you are right! I don't think my farts are a huge threat but perhaps a warning should be issued. -
What is Being Morbidly Obese Protecting You From?
AussieLady replied to Mary Jo Rapini's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Magazine
OMG, this is a crock.. Why are we constantly looking for a reason to blame others. Can't we take responsibility for our own actions anymore?? No, because it's way easier for us if we can blame someone else for being obese. Our parents, the abusive uncle, grandma who made too many cakes, and let's not forget genetics!! We have become the blame generation. We are fat because we ate too much. Blaming won't make us healthy it will just give us a clear conscience for a short time, and then hopefully reality will kick in and we will take responsibility for what we put in our mouths! -

Attention ! Australian Sleevers
AussieLady replied to Lavea's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I just order off the 'Entree' Menu. Anything else is a waste. At first I would order a main, eat what I could and give the rest to my partner but then I realized I was creating a weight problem for him that he never had. -
Surgery on monday! Any last minute advice?
AussieLady replied to BriDawn's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Last minute advice? Your life won't ever be the same again. Don't think, yeah, I'll have the surgery, be slim and beautiful and then my life will be great. Yes, you will be slim, but you basically won't ever enjoy a meal again. Being slim was a higher priority to me than food, but if that's not you, then life will be hell. After this surgery, eating is something you do to survive. You know how you feel about going to the gym at 6 in the morning feels.........you know you need to do it but it's not a pleasure, even if it's the best equipment ever. That's how eating is after the surgery. -

It has been great. I am really happy with my weight loss and how I look now. I had surgery in November and lost 30 kilos really quickly. I want to lose another 10 but decided to slow my loss down for a while as I did not want the hair loss problem. Have been on holiday for the last 2 weeks but when I go home I am going to get back onto the diet. The good news has been that in the past I would go on holiday and put on 5 kilos in 2 weeks but this time I have enjoyed myself with food and the occasional cocktail but my weight has remained the same. It was a great investment for me. -

PEOPLE WHO ONLY DID 3 day liquid pre op diet
AussieLady replied to rollargirl's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
No irony there, just good advice, but it's apparent that you only see advice as good if it matches your ideas. I think you have been given a lot of good advice on here and if I were you I would seek counseling before I considered undertaking this surgery. It is clear that you have not taken any good advice onboard and consider yourself an expert in a surgery for which you have no experience and absolutely no idea what you are talking about. There, I have said my piece, back in 3 months to see if uneducated and inexperiencedcexperts like you have gone elsewhere. -
PEOPLE WHO ONLY DID 3 day liquid pre op diet
AussieLady replied to rollargirl's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
This thread and others like it give all the reasons why I no longer come to this site. Thought I would just visit and see if things have changed, but no, it's still nasty, unsupportive and unwelcoming. Everything a site like this SHOULD NOT BE. A shame because there's some really sincere, nice people here. -
