The beloved "Food Funeral".
AussieLady replied to LipstickLady's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Everyone on here has been "the fat friend". What people on here don't like is Newbies, who haven't been sleeved yet, acting like they know it all. I was sleeved 6 months ago and I still don't know it all. I can admit that with no hesitation at all. Lipstick thinks she knows it all and I admit that she is an expert at being fat, as we all were, but being sleeved is not an easy journey and she has no idea about that. -

Well then good luck, with that attitude you don't need to be sleeved. -

You said that. That wouldn't seem to support what you are now saying. -

Sorry for not responding but I am in Australia so I'm online at different times. Laura summed things up really well you said "I've never been able to eat guilt free". This is a real problem and getting sleeved won't take all the emotional problems about eating away, it will bring up a whole lot of new ones. You really need to prepare for that. It's not a quick fix for eating problems. -
I haven't had a problem with excess skin but my niece had a lot of excess skin. Even though her insurance didn't cover her for weight loss surgery it did cover her for the removal of the excess skin. This is in Australia, but it may be worth the inquiry.

I think you both really need to talk to a professional before you have this surgery. You both seem to really have the wrong perception about what you are about to do. -
Lots of people can't tolerate pasta. Nothings broken, have a hurl and you will feel better. Or go for a walk, that helps too.

Suggestions For Thickend Liquid Stage?
AussieLady replied to RSutherland's topic in Liquids (stage 1)
I was able to have soup at this stage. You need to strain it but I found that it really was great as far as variety goes, and easy to get down. -
Calories, Exercise, and Metabolism (long)

How many meals per day are you having? You should try eating 5-6 times a day but small amounts. If you can keep fluids down, add in a protein shake or bar. -

LMAO. Laura, still running from thread to thread keeping everyone under control. Must be so exhausting for you. -
He says he is not worried if we don't go out to eat anymore. I mean, I can go to a restaurant but I get sick of the waiter trying to take my plate. It takes me for ever to eat an entree size meal and if there's something hidden in there my stomach won't tolerate I spend ages in the bathroom while he eats alone. I feel bad for him. This was my choice, but it has effected his life too.

Still up Laura. I hate to be the cause of your insomnia. I will talk to my doctor soon. It's kinda complicated but I am feeling really bad for my partner, who loves to wine and dine. He says he is not worried but I somehow feel like I have ruined his life. I go out to dinner with him and try to act like it's all good but it's really not.

It really doesn't have to be all or nothing. I mean every now and then I have a slice of pizza or half a cheeseburger. That's not going to make me fat again. What would make me fat is if I ate a whole pizza and a whole cheeseburger with fries and coke regularly. But that isn't going to happen because my stomach does not have enough capacity for that. Everyone should lighten up on themselves and on others. -
Thanks Nicolanz. It's just been recently. I seem to be developing food intolerances and lots of vomitting and diarrhea. Eating is painful and just not worth it almost. The good thing is, I love being slim.

Not happy today, any suggestions?
AussieLady replied to kari61's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It's called the 3 week stall. Don't worry, it happens to most of us. Your weight will start dropping again, just stay on track with your calories and fluid. -
I was sleeved 6 months ago and have lost a lot of weight. I am past my doctors goal. I am very happy with my weight loss but not some of the side-effects. I know many people don't get them but some do. Here they are. Pain and discomfort after eating, vomitting, diarrhea, food intolerances, heartburn, reflux, dizziness. I was hoping these things would resolve but after 6 months I am giving up on that. The whole experience of eating has become something I really dread..

Going shopping with my daughter last week, I picked up a big, loose fitting top and she said to me, "Mum, you don't have to wear fat clothes anymore!".
