I have that already. Goodbye Chinese food........

    Cheeseburgers?

It's so good to find some people on here who don't take everything so seriously!

    Cheeseburgers?

Oh no, I'm outta here before the leak brigade get here and I get hounded into the ER.

    Cheeseburgers?

I admit it! Last night Ireally wanted to eat and went to a Chinese restaurant with the family and ate, ate, ate. Then I threw up all night and had diarrhea all day today. I really showed those goody two shoes people!
  6. Oh Selbrady this is so true! But there are many people on this forum who like to call themselves perfect and others failures. I dont understand how these people went from being obese compulsive eaters to perfect just because they had surgery. No-one is perfect and given that this is a 'support forum' I believe that those of us who struggle should be given the most support but it seems that the people on this forum prefer to make the strugglers feel like failures. It's just disgusting and many people on here need to re-visit the meaning of 'SUPPORT'.

    Attention ! Australian Sleevers

Hi Kelli, I am just over 2 months out but I have stalled too. Maybe we could support each other on MyFitnessPal. I am Lady57 on there. If you think this would help I would be keen. Wendy.
  8. Thank God! I am sitting here watching The Bodyguard for the 500th time. If you can send through a recording that's better than Whittney, I will always love you.
  9. As I said, I'm thinking about it.
  10. I am not bashing Iggy but this is a support forum and I do not find Iggy to be supportive and obviously many others don't either.
  11. I am really close to my kids too and maybe I am just old fashioned but instead of writing letters we talk to each other. And not on Facebook, we actually stand or sit opposite each other and speak. Novel in this day of technology, but when I am gone that is what they will remember, not the letter, SMS or email but the fact I cared enough to talk to them.
  12. That's all you need to do Laura. Tell them the truth then move on.
  13. I think this is sooooo over-dramatic. Would you do this if you were having your tonsils or wisdom teeth out? Its self-indulgent and I agree with Dean. If you think you are going to die, your kids would think you are extremely selfish for taking that risk and leaving them without a parent. These letters are for those who have cancer or other life threatening illnesses.

    VSG as a preventive measure?

I had quite a lengthy discussion with my surgeon about this. He said that a lesson had been learned from the surgery they used to call stomach stapling. It was found that they weren't making the stomach small enough and it was stretching back to it's original size and people were gaining the weight back on. Therefore, tests were done to determine the ideal size with which people won't regain the weight. Of course, if you try hard enough, you will. Hence, the Sleeve.

    Incision scars

I am using bio oil and I think its helping. Just the scar where I had the drain is still quite dark in colour but the others are quite good now. I'm 2 months out.

    Horror Story

Well, I was sorry for the problems you had but now that you have clarified the 11th commandment for me then I guess I am not sorry. You seem to know me better than I know myself. But I will say, to anyone who has had complications, I deeply sympathize with you.

    Horror Story

Anyone who has a medical procedure that goes wrong becomes anti that procedure. When we have surgery we sign that we are aware of the risks and take responsibility for them and whilst it is not good when complications arise it is just part of the risk we take. Like driving a car, we risk being in an accident. Or crossing a road, or getting on an airplane. We are all adults and should we choose to proceed knowing the risks we should not then try to deter others because we had complications. My sister lost a baby because she was left in labour too long. My partner has a cousin who has cerebral palsy because he was oxygen deprived at birth. Should they go on birthing websites and try to deter women from having children? I don't think so. Iggy, I am sorry for you but you made the choice and you need to stop playing the blame game and take responsibility for the choice you made and so do others on this site. As for the person who started this thread, I hope they got it off their chest but their rant served no useful purpose.
  18. I think I would wait a bit longer and see how you are feeling. I think the first day after surgery is a tough day and I just can't imagine wanting to have any procedure done.

    Newbie YAY! / Drain removal

Yes, it is gross, but glad to hear it wasn't painful.
  20. I am 2 months out also, surgery 11/14, and I had a week of constant vomitting but it has settled now. It was week 6 for me. Hopefully it will settle for you too, but don't give up. I just ate and sipped and kept down what I could. Hang in there. Good luck.
  21. That really sounds like one for your doctor but just one thought. I throw up if I eat too fast. My NUT told me to put a small piece of food in my mouth, chew until it is unchewable, wait 2 minutes and then repeat. She said if it takes me less than 45 minutes to eat my meal I am eating too fast. Maybe you could try that.
  22. I think you just know when you are ready for this surgery. I went to my surgeon and he recommended the band. That was about 18 months ago. He explained all the pros and cons of both surgeries. So I thought well I will just limit my calories and get a personal trainer and for 6 months that worked and I lost 25 pounds. But then some things changed in my life and over a period of 3 months I put on 35 pounds. That's been the story of my life for the last 20 years. Don't get me wrong though, I have had a really good life. I got fat at the best restaurants eating great food and drinking expensive wine and I loved those dining experiences. But one day I just woke up and decided I just wanted to be thin. I'd had the wining and dining experience and now I wanted the 'being thin' experience. I called my surgeon and told him I wanted the sleeve ASAP. He re-organized his schedule, told me to start drinking Optifast 3 meals a day and 2 weeks later I was in surgery. There has not been one day when I have had second thoughts. It hasn't been easy some days but I never feel regret and I always keep in mind why I did this and the end result. Luckily I did not find this forum until after my surgery or I might have had second thoughts, but then again my surgeon told me that death was a possibility and I still chose to go ahead. 2 months later I like myself much more than I have for over 20 years. That's my story.
