This sleeve has made me a really classy date
AussieLady posted a topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I'm 5'9" and was sleeved on November 14 weighing 235 pounds. This morning I weighed 175. A weight loss of 60 pounds in just over 3 months and I could not be happier. Just after Xmas my partner bought tickets to take me to see Jersey Boys and tonight was the night. This morning he said 8 fatal words, "would you like to go out for dinner". Well, that sounded lovely and as the theatre is near China Town I thought it was perfect because we could share and I could just eat my regular portions. I had my new slim leg black pants, a red lace top and I went out today and bought red shoes and red clutch to match. I have to admit I looked damned good when I was ready to go out, even for a 55 year old Grandmother. Drove into the city, not much traffic, perfect parking spot, lovely balmy evening, it doesn't get better. My partner decided he wanted to try a Japanese restaurant. Went in and we ordered plates which had samples of about 8 things on the menu and started with miso Soup. That's fine, he would eat what I don't. food arrived, it was fantastic! Then he said 3 fatal words "we're running late. Quickly ate and off to the theatre. He disappeared and came back with a Cosmopolitan for me and we took out seat, second row centre. Then it happened! The orchestra started and I started sliming. One minute later I knew I was going to throw up. I got up and squeezed my way out standing on the toes of about 15 people along they way. An usher approached, "Are you alright Madam". I shook my head, he raised his hand and a relay of ushers went into action. As I made it into the foyer, I could not hold back any longer. I dropped my Cosmopolitan onto the marble floor, looked around in horror for a bin to throw up in and with none in sight I did what I had to do. I opened up my brand new $80 red clutch bag and vomitted into it. I groaned as I looked in and saw my I-phone now floating in my bag. I was then hustled into the ladies and I spent about 10 min.s in there recouping, trying to save my phone's life and looking for a window to climb out so I didn't have to face those ushers. Damn, no window, there's always one in the movies. Out I went and was promptly given a huge glass of Water, a wet cloth and escorted back into the theatre where they sat me on a seat behind the back row, next to the exit in the spot where they usually park the wheelchairs whilst my partner sat centre 2nd row on his own and I glared at the back of his head in the distance. So, theatre tickets $240, dinner $130, my outfit $390. Would anyone like to take me out for a fun night? -

Congratulations on reaching your goal weight and well done. I just wondered how you decided on your goal weight. I am 5'9" and my goal is 155 which is about centre of me having a healthy BMI. I notice that your weight still classifies as overweight. I don't believe BMI is all that important but was just curious what you took into account when deciding on your goal. -

Actually I think it was rather funny when I think about it now. Still love what the VSG has done for me though. -

My kids used to love me reading them The Magic Faraway Tree because the main characters were d**k and Fanny. -
Don't do it! I tried to go for a long walk when I was about 2 weeks out. I managed to go about 1k and then spent 45 mins sitting on the ground vomitting. Thank goodnes I was with my partner because the dizziness was bad too. He had to go and get the car to drive me home. My surgeon was extremely unimpressed I had attempted this so soon.

There are just so many Dicks over there. How would all the Dicks feel if they knew their name was blank worthy? -
I just had plastic surgery and had to stop all vitamins, green tea, aspirin, blood thinners 2 weeks before surgery.

This kinda sounds like a d**k Tracy story. -
My son bought me home two samples of MyoFusion Probiotic Series Protein Drink the other day and I love it. There are 7 flavors but I have only tried the Banana Perfection and Cinnamon Roll. Only 150 calories per serve but 24 grams of protein. I also like the idea of there being a Probiotic in there as I sometimes my stomach doesn't feel quite right and I'm hoping the Probiotic might help. Fingers crossed it might even help the constipation. It's also gluten free and has very little lactose. A good find. It can be ordered online.

Pre Surgery Bowel Prep Blues
AussieLady replied to Lexsan's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Keep it moving? You will be moving for quite some time I think. I didn't have any bowel prep at all pre-surgery. -
LOL. Sorry Laura, you were extremely inspirational and I'm sure you will be again. About the baby for Martin.......the dingoes are pretty hungry over here but I'll see what I can do.
-
Wow, that is a lot of calories and a lot of protein! I would check on that, my pre-op. was 3 protein shakes per day.

I know. I see it on the TV and if it's on the TV it must be true.
