Good Morning Gang I SLEPT TILL 8:00 A.M !! You all know that is RARE for me.. Sitting here drinking coffee.. Need to hit the gym this morning I didn't sleep well last night ate pringles & pt bar - was sleepy but couldn't go to sleep - tossed and turned finally at 1 took a xanax - Angel woke me up at 5 but I went back to sleep and they had their potty time :0) I think it may have been all the stuff I watched on Haiti - OMG so so very sad - Candice they talked about the bldg code issues and corrupt gov - and how the USA contributed to it (how we turn blind eye when we back pple in the gov who agree w/us politically not just dem but everyone) this is what I hate about politics.. I would make a GREAT politician - cuz right is right no matter what title you wear - it's not the title you wear that makes you a bad person it's the corruption that does.. If anyone donates - please make sure you go to legit site - I went directly to the Red Cross.. Well just cking in - Candice my calories yesterday most likely ended up 1600-1700 uhg and I don't want to go to gym - but will.. I have my concert tonite !!! So that means a few adult beverages :0)... Want take bets on my condition tomorrow :0) - but it will be a throw of the dice - don't know if I will be in a party mood or not ;0) -

Sparkle - I had surgery on Tues was back at work on Monday (desk job) and my insurance required overnight stay in the hospital - and I am glad I did - I needed the pain meds that 1st night - but again I don't think my pain tolerance is as high as others - alot go home that same day.. Truly dear there should be no complications and you should be up on your feet after a couple days - I remember by Friday I had company and was washing off the back patio - I wasn't moving super fast but I was moving... Jewish :0) - I'm Catholic but my bff since I was 2 yrs old was Jewish - so I am a little familar with the holidays - sedar etc - plus I love the Peter & Rita Decker books that Faye Kellerman writes - Love bagels & lox too ;0) - But gotta say my gf family weren't orthodox jews - I don't think they follow tradtions too much and I know they didn't eat kosher either. heck she was at church more than temple and she celebrated haunkak (sp) & christmas.. Great - Yep his instructions 1 week each post op food plan - but hell I don't follow rules to well (did after surgery) but I will do liquids for the 1st day or 2 but then move to soft mushies.. No way could I do full liquids for a week - Once was enough.. Charlene - my dinner 4.5 oz steak 3/4 c butternut squash Hugs about the weather and tummy issues.. I don't know the calories in the pretzels - Don't do them - will eat them if they are there but don't buy them :0)... We must be getting you eastern/northern girls weather - I saw a glimist of the news - Rain next week with day time temps in the low 60's - I know that's summer for most of you but not us - that's true winter for us - Yea - I get to wear my sweaters a couple more times before I have to back up winter clothes.. Well gang I am pooped - I worked hard today - it was a busy day... CBL

Apples - I went to the Red Cross website and gave my donation - I watched it last night on CNN OMG ... So 1st thing this a.m. I went online and gave.. Wish I could do more - I have been to Haiti on a cruise the Royal Caribeean private island/beach - Charlene - goo going on bf and pound !!! So how did the rest of the day go... LauraK - Love the pic's !!! Laura - I know that when Katrina happened I was so moved to do something - I had a great tax deduction that year.. I remember wanting to go down there and help.. But since I work I couldn't Continue Prayers for you Dad I go 1/21 for my head fill lol - I think that's mostly what it is - I just need a tiny tiny tweak.. Today - yogurt for bf - Lunch 1 ck enchillada 1/4 c beans 1/4 c rice - I could have ate more - we have these guys who deleiver on thursdays lunch - 2 enchillads 1 cup beans & 1 cup rice for $6 - I split it w/gf - so $3 for lunch next week is chille relelnos (sp) my appt isn't til 3:30 so I will eat lunch ;0) cuz after a fill he wants you on full liq for a week - I normally do 2 day.. Sparkle - I had mild apena - didn't stop breathing but breathing got real shallow - Yes it's very important to get this fixed - and yes you will feel better in the morning - let us know how that appt goes Apples - I am a t.v. watcher :0) reader and computer - wonder why I never get anything done :0) Julie - Love the tractor & you and DH Great pic Linda - I think I need a head fill really - my last fill was 1/08 and all of that was taken out but .1 that tiny bit did it for me - to me that's a head fill... I haven't lost weight - the problem is it's not coming off cuz I am eating 1.75 of a cup instead of 1 and those 3/4 are adding 3-4 lbs that aren't coming off - and I want them off.. Ok gang - I am pooped and need to go feed my face and the kid ;0) CBL Great - today was my friday so I was busy and just never got a chance to get on line ...

Karla - you totally skipped the July Get Together - what's up with that... 4th of July works for me if that's the only time Linda can come -- I normally go see the kids that weekend - but can postpone it til July 16 (day after Joseph's birthday) Fly in Thursday 7/1 (Karri's Bday) and leave Monday 7/5 4.5 days depending on flight.. We are going to have to rent a van - depending on how many pple make it Ok peeps lets get some dates settled - so we can start making plans - you know not all of us are retired lol -

Well doc A would be the only one I would go to - if I had to have it done - my doc does them - but again I don't think insurance covers it - so I would have to go to mexico.. How sweet of Jeff - Hugs to him !!! -

Good Morning Gang... Well watched the rest of AI from the night b/4 and BL then watched AI last night.. dinner 4.5/8 oz ck breast - 3/4 c califlower - 1 popcorn - 1 pt bar 140c - 15 pringles (lite) - I think that was it - scale this a.m. 144.5 (WTF) I have been good I really have - I am ready for this tweak - I MUST MUST MUST get back to 138 for my own sanity.. And I truly think it's all about my portion size and had a stupid janet moment last night the cal's that I am alotting for lunch is based on 1 cup not 1.75 so that's part of the problem. Anyway 1/21 @ 3:30 I have a doc appt - my way of thinking (rationalization) is that I did get the band to help me with my portions - and I have been doing so much w/my will power and it's not getting the results that I was hopeing for - so I am going to utilize my tool and get a tweak.. Phyl your pic's are amazing !!! You have come such a long way !!! So Proud of you - but what's up w/the COOKIE :thumbup: I thought we wanted to get the scales moving - biscottie Cookies and today is thursday - isn't that pancake day - or is that only once a month :thumbup: Karri - You are your job - I want you to analize that statement - I don't think it's healthy... I know you take great pride and w/this whole new school thing - but you are not your job - I know it feels that way - but You are more than a teacher - you have feeling wants needs and being a teacher is PART of who you are - but it is not the total sum of you and it shouldn't be.. I understand that for a while (hopefully) you job is going to be all consuming - in the time that I have known you I know it is what you strive for - to be that perfect teacher - you want to help your kids and take a great amount of pride in your job.. Just please please please make a small amount of time for you ok... :biggrin: Steph - Dr A is the only person in Mex I would let touch me - I know a few pple who he did - OregonDaisy from the 50's thread converted to the sleeve maintaining 135 w/no issues - she's older than me and she struggled w/her band and was a slow loser - I think she lost like 10 lbs from the sleeve - she's a good buddy of Wasa.. $10K - i see the ad's that say $5500 - but don't know who the doc is.. Karla I have a 3 day weekend tomorrow is my FF (furlough friday) going to take down all the inside xmas decorations - go to the post office return my qvc coat - go ck out my bro's house (dreading that) and going to see Lionel Richie Friday night - Going to see Smokie 3/12 with another gf - going to FL 2/11 - Just the little jet setter.. Gang - We need to pick a date for our July meeting so I can schedule the time off - we need to get a date set... So what is a good date - I will send email out too since Linda doesn't post much.. -
I wasn't aware it was so bad til this morning (didn't watch the news last night) - and haven't watched tv tonite - just like Katrina - the devastation and lost of life - heart breaking.. Guess I will be donating to the Red Cross tomorrow..

Welcome to band land Jessica - only room for protein - and yes it is VERY VERY VERY IMPORTANT to take tiny bites (size of an eraser), chew very very well, eat off sandwich plates and use small forks & spoons... You are still healing inside - you don't want to pb - I had 10 days each phase full liquids - mushie - soft - regular. Learning your new full is totally diff than your old full and it takes awhile - - I would say one more bite cuz it tasted good and I wanted to eat more - but that one more bite would come right back up.. Linda - Ya I love DVR's so much better than vhs and disc . I watched AI til about 9:30 and went to bed - taped BL - need to finish them tonite - Ya Posh wasn't so bad - and I love Ellen but again she doesn't have a music back ground - we will see... Simon leaving AI and doing Xfactor - which I think will replace AI - I love Randy though and I am w/you on Kara - but she was better last night and Posh was good.. WTG on the exercise - I have scheduled myself for a tweak next week - I use to be full at lunch on 1 cup of food - but lately that's grown to 1.75 cup and I will be hungry an hour later - maybe it will be like my last fill 1/08 where just .1 did it - Like Melissa say - I think I need more of a head fill than a real fill - but going anyway - I haven't seen my doc since 5/08 - I did see the Doc when we recorded the commercial last October - but that's the last time I have seen him Julie - Hell I'm 143 (hopefully tomorrow ;0) and I couldn't keep up with a 2 yr old !!! I don't see how you do it - day in and day out - I love my DGDers but I don't want to be with them every day - I guess since I raised my GS for the most part I got all that out of my system. Hope the pills kick in and you sleep well tonite Tammy - Welcome & Hugs for your struggles.. How to get re motivated - Well I don't have the answer for that - if I did I would be a millionaire lol... Ya I know how hard it is to get it back since you lost it - that's the # 1 reason this has never been a diet for me - but a lifestyle change in my eating.. And as far as over exercising - I figured that one out w/a conversation with my Uncle - if you work out like that it can be come a chore and you don't enjoy it - and if you don't enjoy it - you quit.. So I limit myself to 1 hr period and have done 1.5 max. 3-5 days a week - you have to have some time off - during my weight lose phase I was at the gym 4-5 days a week - now it's 3-4 with a day or 2 of my wii in the mornings.. So sit down plan a menu for a week - shop for it - and throw out all the junk you have in the house (better in thee (trash) than in me) Eat your BF (150-200 cal) - mid morning snack (100 cal) - Lunch (200-300 cal) - mid afternoon snack 100 Cal - dinner (300-400) Cal and then evening snack 100 Cal On the low side you will consume 950 cal - on the high side you will consume 1150 - keep a food diary - eat healthy don't diet - eat low fat - sf - limited carbs.. Come and be accountable to us - and eating cuz you are upset w/dh isn't hurting him - it's hurting you... You deserve a healthy life.. Get back to the gym - but don't make it a chore - say ok today I am going for 1/2 hr 3 or 4 days a week - then in a couple weeks increase that time to 45 mins so on and so forth.. We are here for you.. Meredith - I am sorry you aren't coming but understand - we always have next year :0) - Sorry about your GM - hope it's nothing serious. I have mental issues - what can I say - my 4's are tight and I need to get a handle on this now... I have been watching what I eat - and the weight isn't coming off - and I am not eating any diff than I was - so I am eating too much I have appointment 1/21 for a tweak in my fill - I can eat about 1.75 cup per meal and be hungry an hour later -

Well there's an outlet real close to where we are going to be in FL - I don't remember the stores - I do remember they don't have a Coach though :0)... Ok I have gym tonite - ugh - I am a little pooped again - just had some french pressed coffee hope it kick's in Food today BF - Yogurt 80 Cal + 1/2 orange 50 = 130 cal Lunch - Ck & Squash 1 pot - 200 cal Snack - 1/4 c peanuts = 160 cal 490 so far... --------------------------------------- Dinner will be fish - butternut squash (no rice) 300 cal Snack popcorn 100 - pudding 120 So approx total if I follow my menu above will be 1010

Steph - What doc did you end up calling??? I have called and made an appt for a fill - as you all know I eat pretty darn healthy 98% of the time and am dilgent on my exercise - but I am just not getting full till about 2 cup and not staying full for long - I want to go back to being full on 1 cup of food.. I got this band for a reason - I need a tweek even if it's only .1 - I need to eat a little less than what I am eating.. Candice Why are you eating crap.... You don't have the excuse of work any more... And don't even try an blame the EQ Why are you going to BOSTON pizza AFTER EATING CRAPPY !!! You can only have a salad w/lite dressing NO PIZZA !!! I didn't know about Hati's till this morning when I was leaving for work - I didn't watch the news last night or this a.m - I saw online somewhere there could be as many as 500,000 dead they say just do to the devestation that happend.. You know we bitch and moan about bldg inspectors but I am sure glad we have them here.. And they are such a poor country to begin with (well except for the corrupt politicians) Drinking french press coffee - have gym tonite -

Well you are maintaining and that's FANTASTIC !!! - I have a 2nd Cousin who lives in Enfield CT - ya the SNOW.... No thank you I'll take my heat :0). Yep gf even with the band it's a struggle - This Christmas the sweet demon hit me - well only for 4 days - but it's hard cuz as we know the stuff that's bad for you slips right on threw the band - and 4 oz of protein isn't the food we crave :0) Well I saw you were reading the thread - so wanted to say HI !!! Glad all is well.. I'm good - maintaining - trying to figure out if I need a head fill or just a tweek on my band :0) - Hugs & love Janet -

Never been a FF eater - I work in an office - I make lunch on Sunday nite and have it all week - or left overs from the night before. I go out to lunch w/gf every couple of weeks - chineese or salad someplace - once in a great while Mexican - but I can only eat 1/2 to 3/4 of a taco - and since I rarely eat out - it's my treat.. We have El Pollo Loco - here in Cali - roasted chicken - will get that to in a rush.... -

No kicking off here - you aren't that luck lol - we all write books - there is no limit to how much or how little you write - it's all good.. WTG on planning - that is key - and sounds like you are getting 2 miles of walking in daily (to and from train) - That's exercise !!! So just increase your speed at times and that will work and you have the Weekends to get some weights added - I love going to the gym early on Sat morning when I am not pooped after a days work - so make a deal w/yourself - 1 hrs of Me time at the gym :0)

Plus you all help alott - sometimes it's over whelming - I get emails - pm's etc and I don't always have the time to respond - Heck what's going to happen to the thread when we are in FL... Just last night I forgot to welcome Sharlene - Sorry Sharlene !! But here's our stats - Apples 2447 post average 3.24 a day Janet 6565 post average 6.73 a day I do have advantage - I have been on here since 5/14/07 Charlene let us know how the dr goes.... Ok you want to be accountable - then start telling us what you are eating - truth no fudge - We will kick your butt - are you keeping a diary or what... Great - I really really hope you can make it !!!! Sorry gang about the early leaving on Sunday - I will have to be to the airport by 7:30 ish - don't know what security will be like. Vanity - God Smack - I had a hounds tooth sweater on that I thought made me look fat - so I figured I would take a pic and see if it did.. So press timer - put it on top of lamp and he fell off and the lens won't go back in... The Kodak that Andrew had before had terrible battery issues - Mine is a pack that is rechargeable which I like. But remember in Canada I was getting those grainy pic's and yours wasn't.. So I will look at the Cannon - isn't that what Tracy had too??? I saw the rainbow when I was leaving this morning - didn't know it rained - but haven't watched the news since Monday evening - Did watch it last nite or this a.m. - hell I just found out as I was leaving about how terrible the eq was in hatis... -

Drive by post - I am pooped... I came home made popcorn and watched a movie. Just finished cooking dinner - and feeding the dogs and really got online to ck something out - and then just had to come and see what the girls are up to.. Great I really hope you can make it !!! Apples You and me coffee in the a.m. and we will hit the gym or go for a walk while our roomie gets her beauty sleep... lol Laura - Hugs on Dad - Rice & Wax ;o) Jessica - Move to mushies - refried beans etc - most of us go from liquids to mushies - i know some may have went to soft but if they aren't agreeing with you go to mushies - what where you eating how much did you eat til you pb'd - Do you have one cup bowls - or use a 1/2 cup measuring cup - put your food in that and eat very slowing - I could barely eat 1/2 c in the beginning - there is a learning curve to this whole band thing - but please don't pb - you are still healing - eat yogurt - pureed foods - cottage cheese Well gang I gotta go veg - CBL

I'm not going to the gym tonite either - I am pooped Today is the 12th and I have had some form of exercise every day except one - I think I deserve a break :0) - I will still eat healthy and I did do a little exercise this a.m. so really I am not skipping - I am just not going to go to the gym tonite after work Calories today 350 but I haven't had dinner or snacks :0) it's only 3:30 here :0) I think I am going home put on my pjs and eat some popcorn and watch a movie -then watch American Idol - CBL -

one week I have lost 10 lbs. Is that average? There is no average - I think I lost 9 the 1st week Which are the best Vitamins to take and what dosage? What are your doc's instructions?? Mine was Flinstone chewables - or you can go to baratric choice . com and get lapband vitimans What are the best supplements (calcium citrate or the other, etc) Calcium citrate - is what my doc says - again what are your doc's instructions... Best chocolate Protein drinks or powder without chalky taste? I did unjury choc & vanilla - I like Jay Robb's vanilla w/lite oj tasted like an orange juluis Best tasting clear liquids protein drinks? PROTI 15 or something like that - I got them from my doc's office he sold them - loved the peach mango, grape and another berry one - you can get them or something similar on baratricchoice.com - I have ordered stuff form them.. I like them - type in clear liquid Protein - theses are like crystal lite that you add to a bottle of Water Any lotions or tricks to prevent saggy skin? Nope no trick's - it's all in you dna When will I feel normal again? I felt good by day 3 (day 2 had bad gas in the shoulder) Are you getting your protein and water in - I was instructed to get minimum 60 grms pt a day.. Any other good tip you think I should know? The band is only a tool - it's a great tool imho but that's all it is - it's not the magic cure all to our issues with food.. Remember also this isn't a diet - it about making a total lifetime lifestyle change in your eating and exercsie habits. I haven't dieted - I am just eating healthy - low fat - sf for the most part - limited carbs and I exercise 4-5 days a week -
Full liquids per my doc included these items - creamed Soups - sf pudding - sf/lf yogurt - sf fudgesicles - sf popsicles - I had pt shake for bf - soup for lunch - soup for dinner - and pudding and yogurt in between What is your doc's defination of full liquids - I guess I was lucky my doc gave me a whole notebook explaing what I could have on each food stage - I wasn't lost- it seems like so many pple are.. I found homemade stuff (make a pot of bean scoop out the Beans purreed them and add them back to the broth you will have cream of bean soup) kept me full longer and was more satistfing I got sick of all the sweet Protein drinks after a while - I would even put unflavor pt powder into my coffee in the morning You are in bandster hell - it's normal - just follow YOUR doctors orders and you will get threw this

IMHO it's normal to be hunger around 5 p.m. That's dinner time for most and it's been 5 hrs since you ate lunch - and Snacks aren't meals . I don't find that my band takes away my hunger - it makes me full on a smaller amount of food but that's it. I still get hungry - I still have head hunger issues - I still crave unhealthy foods. As to # of cc's in your band you can't compare yourself to anyone else as we all are diff - I haven't had a fill for 2 yrs and I'm at a 5 (I think) what works for me - might not work for you - Fills are only about limiting the quanity of foods you eat at one time.. Here's my menu - I have replaced weight control oatmeal w/steel cut oats now a days - but that's about it - I am still eating this way - it's all about lifestyle change - you gotta find what works for you and make it livable for you.. It's all about eating healthy - not dieting... Wishing you the best... Sample Menu.doc
