    Sandy Please know you are one of us even w/o a band ;0) - I would see you lurking and wondered why you weren't posting - I thought maybe you were struggling and didn't want to post ;0) But you have surprise us all and I am very proud of you.. I truly believe it's all about having your "ah ha moment" Doesn't mean I don't want my band - I give it credit 25% credit for the weight loss - but I give myself 75% credit for making the lifestyle change. IMHO this is why some pple don't succeed w/the band and they want to blame it - it's only a piece of plastic - it doesn't make your food choices or exercise for you.. Those 2 things are the major items needed to lose the weight - eating healthy and exercise.. My band stops me from eating 16 oz steak - but it doesn't stop me from eating 1/2 gal of ice cream - or a bag of candy. It's about my choices. To nite I went my the grocery store to get some juice - I looked at diff things to eat - but you know what - it's not worth it - I can't eat the foods I use to that made me fat in the first place - band or no band.. So I just got some fish - veggie - sf ice cream and that's it.. You had your light blub moment pre surgery - I really didn't have mine till a couple of weeks after surgery - I came home from work - was tired (food tigger for me) I was on mushies - oh what to eat - oh I can make white/cream gravy over mashed potatoes - it's a mushie - so I was frying bacon in the pan to make the gravy - I looked at that bacon frying - I said "Janet did you just have major surgery to continue to eat this way" - Answer was NO - so I threw it out and just had the mashed potatoes (made w/skim milk for the pt) and that was it... That was my ah ha moment.. Now the reinforcement is the way I feel - I am the person who I always thought I was under all that fat - I feel so much better - I have so much more energy - I don't ever want to go back to where I was... I am thankful for my band and I love it - it helped me get to where I am today - but that's it - it helped but I'm the one who did the majority of the work.. So post away - We are here for you ;0)

    Good Evening Gang... Well I'm home - dogs have had their treats - and Bella has pooped (outside) so have a few minutes without them wanting me for something.. lol - go from kids to dogs :0).. No exercise tonite - hopefully catch up a little on t.v. Did watch survivor last night - Sad that the Oldtimes lost but they did choose the right person to boot ;0) That chick would have gotten on my nerves... I would love to do survivor - but don't know if I could take the elements - plus they don't get enough food to have the energy to play the games - heck old timers need our Protein ;0).. BF - Oscar Meyers deli ham & 2% cheese w/mustard. lunch - 1 c one pot wonder dinner - Fish - veggie - maybe some rice Snack - popcorn & sf ice cream or pt shake w/banana & peanut butter.. Linda - I got the family vacation coming up too - so not in the positition to spend tons either ;0) Cruise really sounds great to me - I think it's perfect for a bunch of women - we can dance drink eat watch show hit the pool and tour all in one place...

    :thumbup:) I guess I know I'm loved :0) even though I still smoke :0) I am pmsing today - even though I don't have pms anymore :0) I texted the whole family (DS/DIL/GD/GS) - I Love you - this morning - DIL texts back love you 2 is everything alright - DS text back love you too - are you flying somewhere ;o) DIL texted "we are always here for u even though u r not here u r the the center of the family - we love you very much.. - Wasnt that so sweet.. The grandkids texted back love you 2 I am so blessed to have you all in my life... I am blessed to be so loved.. See I am all mushie today... Laura - it's a good thing we aren't saying good by - or I would be hystrical - Oh ya gang - when we say by on Sunday - I will be a big ole baby.... I may just slip away - I hate good byes... Ok someone ck out cruise - My excuse is I am exercising too much in my free time :0)... So I don't have any ;0) at the gym :0)

    I would love one out of NO as I want to go there - I would book a day a head so I could see NO Hey Gwen where are you - you are the travel agent lo) I would have an balcony cabin - since I smoke - so my other smoker gf could room w/me ;0) Belize sounds great... I went on a cruise 5/8/98 and it was pretty humid - April's a good month..

    COMPULSION to eat?

    I wish I had your band - cuz mine doesn't do a darn thing for my compulsion to eat and I have optimal restriction.. I will eat my dinner - be physically full and still want to eat and I'm 3 yrs out. I try and distract myself - but if that doesn't work - I eat a 100 snack pack popcorn - They are my lifesavers - and yes sometimes I do eat 2 - but really after eating one I have taken care of the hand to mouth issues.. I don't keep dangerous foods in my house - period - If you were an alcoholic you wouldn't leave a bottle of booze on the kitchen counter.. When I go shopping - I look at the junk - candy - cheese puffs - and say - ah hell no they aren't worth it - and if I just need something (a treat) I buy 1 candy bar - I buy 1 small bag of chips - cuz after it's gone - it's gone.. I am like Sparky - I have great intentions of just eating 1 - 100 cal snack pack of cookie or whatever it happens to be - but end up eating the whole box ( or the whole whatever it is) - sugar is my heroin - it's my drug of choice - if I start I don't quit - so I make sure I only have 1 serving at my disposal.. There are certain things I can control – like Ice Cream for the most part – I have sf stuff in the house and I can limit myself to a serving – but if a bag of reese Peanut Butter cups were in the house – forget about it – they would be in my stomach – or in the trash.. I have my trigger foods – that I really try to stay away from. I have an addiction - I am in recovery for the last 3 yrs - but the want is still there - do I act on it no - but the desire is with me. The foods that I want to eat are all sliders so my band doesn't do a darn thing about stopping me.. What stops me is that I have lost 115 lbs and I feel so much better - I never want to be morbitly obese again.. I don't want to go back there - so I don't eat the crap that got me there in the 1st place

    Well - I think we are all in agreement - visiting - eating ;0) - little slots - little shopping - it will be a fun time... Getting excited - 2 weeks from tomorrow we will all be in Vegas by now or headed there ;0) I have 9 weeks till my Mayan Riveria Vacation.. Everyone has their passports - I can't wait.. For next get together - Can't be in July cuz that's my #7 month.. April or May in Florida - Ocean & Sun - or a curise out of Tx's that's pretty central - We are spread out so much.. What's in the middle ;0)

We have newbies - Oldies (;0) on this thread - feel free to jump in - we are all in variouse stages - Apples, Great, Cheri and myself are at goal - Julie & Phyl have loss more than 100 lbs each (sorry girls I don't remember exact #'s) If you are going in for pre-op - I would think you would have your date ;0) so it should be soon :0)

    If you blend it w/ice it makes a lot - but again it's a liquid the key is to stop when your stomach says i'm full - sip on it as long as you want - you need your pt (protein) We are all diff on our restriction - and since I'm 3 yrs out I really don't remember - but would say I drank 8 oz - but again don't really remember - key stop when full - pay attention to your stomach

    Drive by before I start working ;0) My vote is w/Charlene/Apples/Eva - since some of us have done this b/4 - I know that when we went to Mall of American - 1st Lucky #7 visit - we didn't have enough time visiting and that's what it's about.. Eva- Thanks for making those arrangements - I'll email you tonite - I think mines under Janet Wright - but could be under Janet Wright-Pimentel - not sure .. Will ck and let you know.. I know of a nice italian restaurant $20 buck I think it was and you get 3 course meal - that includes wine... I don't remember the name of it - but know where it is (by Bally's off the strip.. Nice dinner Friday & Saturday sounds good to me and a little slots :0) not much but a little - along w/hitting the outlets really fast &/or the mall... I can pick up a few too - I will empty my trunk... It will all work out.. well I gotta get to work - Hugs Apples on another one - Laura -lol ya we are a bunch of cry babies aren't we - hopefully someone will be able to skye you - Oh Phyl has a computer w/cam in it.. ok I gotta get to work Julie - glad you are home safe and sound - postitive thoughts on this new thearpy,...

    Morning Gang... Yesterday was my 2 x at gym - late nite - Sandy - Congrats on your loss and yes you have the same addiction as the rest of us - food - our bands helps us - but I really think it's all about the light bulb going off in our heads in the understanding that we have to exercise & eat healthy- which has happen to you - My trainer ask this question all the time - don't you think you could have done it w/o the band - ya - i would have lost some - don't know if I would be where I am now - I think knowing I had major surgery was my wake up call - and my band does stop me from over eating at times. I guess it's my constance reminder to be healthy. You are welcome here even if you don't have a band :0) Apples - I must have scanned too fast - another wake funeral - omg... Hugs - Enjoy the lake.. As to Vegas - it's about 4 - 5 hr drive for me - I was planing on picking up Phyl by 8 and hopefully be in Vegas around 12 - 1 - and I have room for 3.. oh just thought luggage may be an issue - as I will have Phyl scooter - I don't think we can ck it til 3.. Guess maybe we should call Desert Rose and see if we can ck in early.. and get rooms that are close to each other As to going to a show - well we really only have 2 nites together - and figured we would want to visit as much as we can.. And show tickets are expensive $100 a piece to see a good one.. there are what 11 of us or is it 10 ;0) to early for me to count as I need to head to the shower Who want's to go to a show??? Did Jodi say she could get us discount tickets??? Well I gotta get moving - cbl

    Good Morning Gang Candice - Nice pics of the camper.. Break a leg tonite at your gig ;0) Karla - Robot is the way too go - gf dh had prostrate removed by a robot - and my boss is going to have that surgery next month - Well might not be 100% your fault - but girl if you get this surgery - then no more moving 100 lbs pots by yourself ;0) Well I guess or Phyl is too busy in OK - Can't wait til she post again regularly .. Steph - Linda what's up girls.. Last night was my late night - gym x 2 - watched survivor and Oprah when I got home - bed - now starting all over - well it's Thrusday - no exercise tonite ;0)

    Eating too soon?

    Pure Protein makes a good vanilla cream shake pre-made - 120 cal 19 grms pt and low in carbs - I add 1/2 banana and some Peanut Butter in a blender and ice - It's to die for - and I really don't do Protein Shakes at this stage (3 yrs) I really use it for dessert - you can add what ever you like - I had the unjury when I 1st got banded - unflavored - added flavored sf yogurt and fruit - But to tell you the truth I like the pure protein pre-made ones the best - and I hate pt shakes - like I said when you doctor them up they are excellent - imho That was too much food too in a short period of time - you have to contimplate your stomach - you will feel a new diff full now - but your head will say - oh that's all you are you need more food - Don't listen to it - listen to your stomach you are suppose to eat 3 meals and my doc allows 2 healthy Snacks - So after you have had your planed food - no more - 30 min (or what ever your doc instructed) start drinking your Water.. Yep - no band for your head - I know you have been told - WLS is not the easy way out - even when you have good restriction.. It's still work..

    None of us are doctors - I would think your doc would give you some guide lines - I would eat 1/2 cup cream soup and be full .. I am 3 yrs out and I will tell you first had - the band does nothing about what your brain wants.. I will be physically full - but my brains says to eat more.. Please be prepared for all of this - they banded our stomachs but the majority of our problems w/food is in our brains and they haven't developed a band for that yet. Good Luck

    Charlene - at least you didn't gain and yep we gotta mix it up - that's what my weight training does but gotta say that during my weight loss phase for the 1st 8 months all I did was walk - i did work weights every now and then but rarely.. Now weights - boot camp - yoga - pilos - Yep New TV Season starting - I have dvr programed already for survior & greys - I want to watch Detroit 187 - looks like a good cop show and I have the new hawaii 5 o programed.. But tonite is my late nite - won't be home till 8:45 - so I wont be watching much tv - thank God for dvr's ;l0)

    Melissa Glad nothing serious seems to be wrong... Fingers crossed on the job... Great LOL on DD - I was lucky Andrew was pretty cool - but would call if I wasn't home after work - but if I was out and about - he didn't worry bug too much - but gotta say I talk to him more now than when he was at home ;0) Kaitlin told me last night that Joseph went to her high school football game last friday to stalk her - he went w/friend who's son played for the opposing team - so he was on the visitor side - but I guess he took binoculars and was watching Kaitlin - I had to crack up on that one.. Your day does sound interesting - no debate to worry about - I use to watch big love on hbo about poligamy - it was funny how the dh had to juggle all his wives.. Yes some religions don't want you associating w/worldly pple- we to each their own - as Cheri say - take what you want an leave the rest.. Macy's & QVC carries wide calf boots - and yes you gotta have some - what are your measurments of your calves - I bet they aren't what they use to be .. Have you even tried any knee high boots on ;0) - try it - they may just fit..

I have eaten this way since day one and had no problem losing the weight or maintaning it - I made this a lifetime lifestyle change - I will never go back to eating how I ate pre-band - I know that's how I got fat in the first place - it's not so much how much I ate but the kinds of food I ate - high fat - high sugar and zero exercise Now I eat healthy and am a semi gym rat - maintaining 135-138...     Coffee 1st thing w/sf creamer bf -Chobani vanilla Greek Yogurt w/blackberries & raspiberries Lunch - Antipasto Salad - top of a piece garlic bread Dinner - One Pot Wonder (3/4 c) hamburger/onion/bell pepper/diced potato/squash/salsa Dessert - Chobani vanilla Greek Yogurt w/ff cream cheese splenda vanilla flavoring - taste like cheese cake.. Snack - 1/2 bag 100 cal popcorn - Special K crackers 90 cal

    Karla - My meat is oscar meyer sandwich - brown sugar deli ham - not actual deli meat -but that would work too - 6 slices is like 50 cal - cheese 45 - so really you could have 2 servings - I'm good w/one most days. Can't say I stay full till lunch - I get hungry around 10:30 - 11 - and I try to drink then.. I do ok on workout days w/my water I take a 20 oz and I will have it gone by the end of the hour - but that's 1/3 of our water - but I do have at least 2 - 10 oz coffee and then 8-16 oz of juice at nite and 12 oz of ice tea in the afternoons (need the caffiene to keep going).. But some days (non exercise days) all I get is my coffee and a little juice- then I have 2 problems tight and tmi ;0)

    Good Morning Gang Drive by - I read last night but had to get off the computer Kaitlin (gd) called we talked about 1 hr - so that cut into my computer time - asked her if she was calling to ck in on me - she said ya tues & thurs are my days lol... Andrew called at 10 to tell me about his job.. Laura - back in the day we didn't have computers to interfere w/our time either - there was no email etc.. Somehow we got it all don't - my ds played baseball, football & basket ball - I know that he did a lot of walking or riding bike to practice or if it was after 5 I took him thenI took him to games and watched them studies and kept house etc - but llike I said no computers to have to keep up with.. Apples thanks for the update about Julie.. Laurak 15 days WTG :0) Sandy - I see you lurking all the time - why don't you post?? Joyce - I got that fake ciggy thing - but I smoke menthol and the thing tasted like crap - and didn't work properly - got it from my niece who was selling them.. Well gang it's time to jump in the shower.. Oh Jodi is Dassi coming or not?? Well - gotta go - shout out to all I missed not intentional - just not enough time - work interferes w/my computer time :0)

    Good Morning Gang Karla wtg on using your time wisely - I screw around on the computer playing games etc instead of doing stuff I should - then I have to rush to get stuff done.. On your breakfast issues - yesterday I had deli ham & 2% cheese w/mustard - it's an easy at work meal ;0) You don't have to eat breakfast food for bf - you can eat whatever you want.. I'm not a sweet person in the morning (nite time is when it calls my name) so I will have other stuff for bf - just steak - fish - chicken sometimes. Linda Glad Andy's surgery went well - Karri came home w/pain pump when she had tt - they do that alot now a days - my boss has his prostrate surgery on 10/14 and they will be repairing herina at that time.. He'll be out of work for 2 weeks.. Phyl still in OK - Steph what are you doing... Karri has a job but buy the looks of it on FB she's not super excited about it - it's a normal teaching job - but you know our Karri - not normal so that's not exciting to her - but she's glad she has a job.. Candice- Zumba today.. Well I have weights & yoga tonite - so don't know when I will get back on the computer.. Have a Great Day Peeps...
