djhick I agree you need a fill.. It's one day at a time we "Know" that the band isn't the magic pill we all want "but i think we wish that it was" We are still going to have struggles - but look at thin people they still eat cakes pies etc but they just don't do it all day and every day - on piece and that's it...

Welcome Darlaur Devera & Doddie - I am going to call you the 3 D's.. I got my date 7/17 - Had my shrink visit this a.m. - she thought i was ok for surgery (fooled her:rolleyes),,, I am really excited and cant wait.. But i am still looking forward to my last 10 suppers :hungry:. Had pizza tonite (grandkids came over to swim so got them something they would like. and oh yea i jogged in the pool for about 40 minutes), I want white gravy over rice really back - so am going to have to fry up some chicken or pork chops and make some this weekend.. I eat this kind of food about once a year - but knowing that i have sugery and Protein diet for a long time to come (don't think i get food until about 6 weeks post op) I want it now ...

Thanks Harley Girl I should have approval by Friday ... I am lucky that my insurance doesn't hassle you and gives approval quickly - I don't think that i would be doing this if i had to be on a 6 month supervised diet - If i could then why the band -- I need help..... Don't they get it - if we could do it by oursleves we would... Don't they know that we don't want this - we want to be normal too.. (they = Insurance Co)

Chrispy - I thought that title would get you I think it's sort of kool to have an admirer - but i would be careful.... That's the Mom in me talking and I agree with JC at least he's in FL and i would demand that if he wants to continue to correspond with you then he must identify himself. Do you belong to classmates - is that how he found you??? or is that how he found your name and says he knows you... JC - Thanks - I am VERY EXCITED - I jogged in the pool for about 40 minutes when i got home from work - my car said it was 114 - but at least it's DRY heat and I have good a/c in the car, house and i have a pool. But in the middle of the summer - that (the pool) won't be cool - it will be like a bath.. JC guys get stalked too.. how about that astornat lady in Fl or was it TX....

I have my mental health evaluation on Thursday... Any advice?? What do I need to be careful of?? I am a pretty honest person and have some issue in my past (Mother's mental health and she was somewhat abusive).. But am a firm believer and pulling yourself up by the boot straps and keep on keeping on.. That's the way i was raised... You can't blame your whole life on your past. There comes a time where you have to take responsiblity for you Thanks for any advice...

Sweet it's natural to be afraid - but remember you are young you have that on your side. Just think about how much better you are going to feel when that weight starts coming off. You are doing your body a favor too by getting the weight off while you are young instead of like me... Think postitive !!!! Good Thoughts !!! I haven't had surgery yet - 7/17 but right now i am not scared of the surgery part at all.. Now on 7/16 that might be a whole different situtation ::rolleyes..

Phyl I know the area - I use to live outside of DHS (Rancho Rd - it's off Long Canyon & Dillon) - that was my ex's house. I use to drive dillon to get to work (palm Desert).. Well we have a band support group - so you can attend when you are here in the Desert in the winters:cool:... Janet

I am in the Desert (indio california) so lucky dry heat - which i have to be thankful for that cuz I can't stand the humdity.. Went to Mazatlan last yr in June and about died...

CONGRATULATIONS QUINN :clap2: I just got my date yesterday so I know how excited your are right now. Do you have to do a pre-op diet?? I will but it won't be til 7/7 so I have a few more days of my Last Suppers:hungry: Contgrates again - I will add you to the calendar..

Oh my gosh - at least today you don't have to deal with 112 degree heat :rolleyes.. But then I don't have to deal with -30 degree cold :biggrin1:

Surgery Date 7/17 that is... :heh: (i figured that title would get the single's attention ) I am so excited... Had my shrink visit this a.m. all ok on that front.. (have her really fooled :biggrin1:) I have my pre-op visit 7/6 so I will have 16 days of my last suppers:hungry:

Thanks.. Just got back from shrink visit - went ok... She said that I was ok for surgery (ha ha fooled her :0)... I guess i will start my pre-op diet after my pre-op visit on 7/6 - so that will be only 10 days and not a full 2 week - YAAAA... I don't know yet if it only shakes or if i get food too.. Hope to get food too cuz i don't like sweets for breakfast lunch dinner... Good Luck....

Just got back from my appointment - Wasn't that bad at all - infact they didn't even make you fill out a form about mental issues... They only thing they cared about was $$$.. HIppa etc.. My Dr. Lady with a very soft voice - said i was OK for surgery and didn't need any follow up visits. HA HA HA - I SURE FOOLED THEM

I'm not banded yet (but got my date 7/17 .. But being the diet expert I am I would suggest the veggie - but i dont know how carrots are with the band.. or lean protein... it's all about calories in vs out - a calorie is a calorie no matter if fat sugar or protein.. some are better for you than others - I would get a small fill if you can before you go.. imho Janet

Thanks Gang... Denise - Yes I have TONS of doctors.... But again I have no history cuz i never go to the doctor.. So I guess he wants to make sure i can stand the surgery - I don't mind getting my heart ck'd cuz my ex just had a heart attack in January and triple bypass.. and since I am a smoker the lungs getting ck is good too.. thank God for insurance....

OK that's what confused me on that calendar.... its June and July... OK.. I understand... so Breadlady 6/19 and You 6/26.... and not July - Got it.. I guess you guys being in the July group was also a bit confusing... I will stick your date on there and repost OK - my bad - i guess i should have just left yours alone -but it didn't make sense to me with then numbers being out of orde and was just trying to be helpfull.. Hi Marcy I am back tracking on this thread as I just got my date today and was so excited i just wanted to post and become apart of a group.. So I just got to your post above - Where are you?? Since I am new I will give some info so you guy will know more about me Hi I am Janet - 52 yrs old Divorced have one Son 36 yrs old - 3 grandkids. I live in Indio CA (IndioGirl) Indio is about 10 miles from Palm Desert CA or 20 from Palm Springs CA Most people know those towns... Indio isn't that famous - oh yea wait for some of you young ones - this is where the Coachella Fest is held in April It's 110degrees outside right now - too hot walk or anything I have been fat for the majority of my life (Birth weighed 3.12 lbs - as a kid I was overweight they had me on a diet when I was in 4th grade and then from 16 to 25 weighed 115) 25 yrs old the weight started creeping on - would get it off - gain back plus more. and now with menopause the tummy fat is killing me - 244 lbs is what i am now and this is my highest and if i don't do something now it's going to keep getting higher... My 1st appt w/Dr Bobbie (suregon in Palm Springs was 5/31. Started all my appointments the following week and got the call today with a date of 7/17 - - I still have a few appts to go... But the Office said that all they need is the physc evaluation to get approval and i do that tomorrow and I guess I am so blessed to have good insurance that doesn't make you jump through hoops - they say i should have approval next week... Ok this is long enought for now - I am glad to be on this great journey with the rest of you Lucky 7 people.

But the wait is almost over! Now I need to start finding good protein sources and making reservations at a motel for the nights my nutrition classes are on (7 1/2 hour drive one way to the surgeon's office). OMG Laurend - That's like me driving from Indio to Modesto where my sister livers... Prop's to you... I don't know that I would drive that far... What are you going to do about your fills??? I start my pre-op diet on 7/7 (go to the dr's on the 6th)

use 5.3 i guess - it look like thats in line with my bmi on my ticker Thanks Laurend.....
