They have done it here to but thankfully it's stuff i don't care for, but yesterday they had cake in our area where the fax, water and copier are - I just jabbed my finger in it and said NO - then cut that piece and threw it away.... but guess what when i came in this morning there the cake sat - so i threw it away...

I had surgery on Tues - back at work the following Monday (day 6) I wore pants the first day back that buttoned not elastic and I did have some port site discomfort. But wore dresses for the next few weeks as was fine... -

Hi Laura Welcome !!! As you know this is a great place for info - support etc. Since you are a Chef you can come up with healthy receipe for us - or even write a cookbook for banders - liquid stage - pureed stage - soft etc... Good luck on your journey.... -
Mis42 Go get a fill and if you can't get one right away #1 Don't buy the junk that you binge on - if it's not in the house you can't eat it. If it's regular food that you cook for meals - cook only single servings this way you can't get 2nds. #2 Log/Diary/Track all food that enters your mouth #3 Exercise daily #4 Do some mental soul searching - read books on being overweight and how to over come the addiction. (self help books) #5 Go back to the day you were banded - remember that motivation. #6 Look at the before & after pictures - #7 Go to the at Goal Thread read those post for motivation #8 Make healthy food choices - weigh & measure your food. #9 Join WW, Tops, Over-Eaters - consider seeing a professional You can do this - - imho the band only does 25% of the work (once you have restriction) and the other 75% is up to you. I am awaiting my 2nd fill - right now i am STARVING - have 45 minutes to lunch - I don't have much restriction I am working harder than the band - I am making good food choices - low fat - sugar free - i exercise daily - I am working - I don't buy junk - if i am hunger i eat extra veggies w/o all the butter... I don't keep temptation around me and i avoid it at all cost... Only you can make the choices in your life, we can't but if you want to eat - find a distraction- get on the computer - come here ask for help that's what i do. Get up go for a walk - go clean your bathroom - do anything you can to stop your mind from thinking about food. Good Luck...

Hi Nina - Yes I know your DH i - i have read his post and we all congratulated him on 43 yrs marriage - and he is on the over 50 thread & Oldies thread too.. My doc does bmi at 37 - I'm 52 5'4 and today 211 - my bmi is like 36 i think - i am still considered obesity.. Good luck on your journey...

Phyl - will keep your son in our prayers too... I had an uncle w/a glass eye - but he got his as a kid after he threw a bullitt in the old fashion wood burning stove - he looked in - lost his eye... I look forward to my 2nd fill - did lose this week :clap2: now 1 lbs away from the half way mark.. But i am hungry most of the time - I am working harder than my band... 10/24 can't get here soon enough...

Phyl - Sorry about your Son's cancer - but you are so right - Only God know the big picture. CC - Please know that you and this family are in my prayers - How very devistating - but to know that they find comfort in the Lord and that Sydney is in Heaven is a blessing.

Hi Jackie - good to hear from you too... You are doing going on your weight loss - and I love the 700 while sleeping :0) that's too funny.. I to am a tv junkie - in fact i am still trying to catch up on last weeks shows as i was out and about this weekend so didn't catch up,... OMG 4 fills - he must not put a lot in - I go for my 2nd on the 24th and i can't wait... Well, its almost 7 here in cali - and i am tired tonite... Catch ya'll later...

LaLa I agree with you too - I have had a slice of pizza - and 1/2 piece of bday cake - but it goes into my calories for the day and not in additon to.. I really haven't had any gorging since I was banded - there has been a couple times i wanted to - the other day in fact i went to lunch and was starving - setting mex restaurant - i let my hunger tummy and my old ways order - taco enchallida & Beans - ate a few chips before food came - once the food came - all i could eat was the taco - the rest when into a doggie bag for dinner... Next day out to lunch again - made better choice shrinp chevicie (sp) - that's my newest goal it to try and always find the heahlty items on the menu - I am human but thanks to the band - i didn't turn back into my old piggy self...

I agree with you 1 million percent - There really seems to be a few who think that they don't have to do anything - that the band is going to do all the work - Right now i am working harder than my band (need that 2nd fill) but regardless - I made a committment in getting the band and that includes eating healthy & exercising 5 days a week for the rest of my life.. Wake up people call cuz if you don't change your eating patterns you might loose in the begining with the portion control - but you will end up gaining it all back - just like any other progam you have done. Band = portion control and only when you hit your sweet spot period end of story... I could eat the house right now - but am i ??? No - baking a chicken for dinner with zuchinne and 1/2 mashed potatoes - I weigh all my food and count calories & protien I am not eating what we use to call normal food - that normal food was High Fat High Sugar and hugh portions- Oh ya i forgot why was i fat??(well still am technally but that's going down daily) I didn't get fat from eating 3 or 4 oz of baked or grilled chicken, fish - veggies and small amount of carbs... I go to the gym walk 10 to 13 miles a week - 60 mintues of weight weekly. Am losing 1 - 2 lbs a week.. and that's without having too much restriction - heck - when I do hit my sweet spot - I am going to be doing extra great. But it's my committment to this and not just the band. This is what i tell all the newbies that ask questions they say they know it's not the magic cure - but in the back of their heads they think it is (imho) - You gotta do the work the band it's self isn't.. When I want to eat more than i should - I think of you being at goal.. You are a great motivator and I send people your way who have questions cuz I really admire your knowlegde... Your shake sounds good - My uncle had me taste his this weekend (teeth issues not weight) and it was really good- rasberries - backberries - red seedless grapes - strawberries - plaln yogurt - pt powder it was great - it was the grapes that really made it I would have never thought to put grapes in - but gave it a great taste - amounts would vary cuz he used a whole box of each berries as he makes a big batch of it and drinks it up in 3 days...

I am with Dibaby - I too am a WW person (i don't go to meeting) but I use what I have learned in WW. You say you aren't losing - well that mean too many calories in and not enough going out. You need to make healhty food choices and exercise - the band only does 25% of the work and the other 75% is up to you.. I Well said as ususal:clap2::clap2::clap2:

Emily - I am twice your age and i have only had one surgery (gallbladder 20 yrs ago when they use to cut you open) - Surgery hurts no doubt about that but it wasn't that bad - I was back to work on day 6 (desk job) the first few days are hard but as each day goes by you feel better and better... Read & ask questions.... Good Luck on your journey...

Hi Dini sorry you aren't feeling well and omg all those hours!!! CONGRATS ON 157 !!!!! That just GREAT... Heck that would be below my goal weight... No gossip that i am aware of - board doesn't get as much action as it did back in July & August,.... Well gotta get back to work - 11/22 is our Thanksgiving and I would imagine that NY would be a mad house... Never been as a grown up - only as a child - but a couple of my gf want to do a girls only week there....

Pherndon I understand grown kids and grandkids problems - I have a 36 yr son who has issues - I am raising his 16 yrs son - but food is not the answer, you know this - you just have forgotten - a little memory slip... Those 10 lbs are going to hurt you not make you feel any better - That little devil on your left shoulder is telling you that the food is helping but it's not it's killing you.... Besides the problems w/your kids - you will have the additional problems that those extra pounds will bring. Come on, you don't want to gain back those 50 lbs and with those first 10 are back and we know how easily the other 40 will follow. You are in my prayers and thoughts - Please don't compound the problems you are having by trying to eat them away.. Get a tiny fill if that's needed so that the band can help you during this difficult time Again - Prayers for you... Janet -

I noticed this morning - our lucky 7 board isn't as active as it was in the begining - so you are going back to Phyl I want to change my signature too - but just haven't had time to mess with it either. Almost 40 lbs is that .2 or 2 lbs - if it's point .2 go potty and you should be there - if 2lbs then you will be there by next week. That just such a great accomplishment !!!!.. I have 3.5 to go til i hit that mark - so most likely i should be there by 10/25 - go for 2nd fill on the 24th... 63 is too young to be considered a snowbird - you gotta be 80 at least and yes drive 15 mph - at 7:30 in the morning when people are trying to get to work - When I lived outside DHS when I was w/dh - it never failed that i would get behind a putt - putt person - MOVE... I am an inpatient driver -

CONGRATULATIONS 50 POUNDS :clap2::clap2::clap2: and size 14 (which is the norm) I agree with the mind set problems - when i was 244 i still saw myself at 200 - in my minds eye i am fat but not that fat when i really am that fat. I kidded myself that when i bought a 22/24 top it's wasn't cuz i was that big but that the clothes were that small (I have this big issue with clothes that are too tight and peoples rolls show) Riberty - Glad to hear you survived the conversion.... Marcy - Great NSV :clap2::clap2::clap2: Food on your plate - but it into a box ASAP so you won't be tempted to continue to pick - I am the same way too. It's mind over matter you can do it... I know you can.... Make good food choices and sweet spot being hit - you will do it....

Thanks Peaches - I hope you are right - I am hating it a tad less. Most Thanksgivings here in the desert require A/C ;0) and some Christmas's too ;0)..
