Kim - My doc scales & mine are about 4 lbs diff - i go by mine - I don't let his deter me.. - Make soupy mash potatoes & add some gravy on turkey day - by the time i do all the cooking i don't want to eat anyway. Next day is always better ... Welcome Mikesmom !!! Linda - had my 2nd fill on the 24th - I am tight - I think it may even be at my sweet spot... Had a retirement party Saturday nite - ate 2 or 3 bites of salads - 4 bites of steak (it was really good wanted to eat more ) 1/2 piece of cake - and about 6 glass of white wine - guess who was a little hung over on Sunday - Now this is where the band is a tad hard - you know how you are hung over - want lots of Water fast and grease food and tons of it - well, can't drink water fast anymore - ate a cup of soupy mash potatoes and 3 reese pb cups.. (Ya i hit the halloween candy :omg:) But in the past I would have eaten the whole bag so don't feel bad about it... Last nite had 3 oz of fish 1/4 cup brown rice and 1/3 cup cabbage - couldn't finish the rice - then my midnight run - 1 sf pudding cup and ate too fast got a little stuck - so sweet spot is here i think... Jackie - Like I have said a million times before only a fat person can understand another fat person - We don't judge those dirty little secerts cuz we all have them. We are all the same in so many way - I'm just not afaird to put it out there cuz i know that the majority here can relate to my story or issues about food.. Some have health issues for their weight problems - but most of us are fat cuz we ate too much and didn't exercise. I love all of you here - I love my band - and love the new found energy that i have.. Well, gotta get back to work - xoxo Janet

Carol Thanks for the props.... Here is a typical days food & exercise. BF - Dannon Lite & Fit Yogurt with 1/4 cup LF granola or 1/2 Cup Eggbeaters with a tad of cheese & ham or a weight control oatmeal (calories for bf 100 - 160 - Protein 6 - 12 g) Lunch- Ususally left overs - Veggie 1 - 2 cups & small can of tuna About once every 2 weeks go out to lunch and eat a Taco or el pollo loco chick & bean 1 corn tortilla (Calories lunch 200 to 250 - PT 15) Afternoon - Clear Protein Drink that my Doc Sells (calories 70 - 15 grms pt 15) Dinner - 4 oz baked catfish - 1/2 cup rice or small red bake potato 1 or 2 cup yellow crooked neck squash & zuchinne. or spinach (calories 320 - 400 - pt 25) Evening - 2 SF Choc puddings & 1 heathly Choice SF fudgecicle (calorie 200 to 300 - pt 7) Exercise - 5 day a week go to gym - walk minimum 2 miles - am now doing a 16 min mile - started at 22 min mile goal is 15 min mile - may do 3 miles on one day and on saturday mornings i strive for 3 or 4 miles and once in a while do a little work on the weights - but mostly just the walking... Those calories are not exact nor is the menu - I figure i eat about 1000 to 1200 calories a day and get minium 60 grms of protein. I mostly use I can't believe it's not butter spray on my veggies & rice and some times a tad or real butter and olive oil to bake my fish - I eat fish 5-6 days a week red meat once a week- I count calories and protein and diary all my food in a little notebook that i carry. Prior to this last fill - i was usually eating 2 cup of food per meal - excluding breakfast.. I got my 2nd fill on 10/24 and will start the whole banding diet over - 1 week full liquids - 1 week mushies - 1 week soft - 4th week back to reg food. Carol - I am working hard at this and i am hungry at times -- it's a mental challenge to change your eating habits. If i am extra hungry at nite - i eat extra veggies - may have lite toast & butter along with 1/2 cup o.j. (lite) - I dislike exercise very much - but i know that it is a MUST to help you loose weight- I am an Senior Account Manager for a large insurance agency here in the Desert - I have a desk job - and am a former couch potato.... I am divorced - my 16 gs lives with me - I don't keep things in the house that i like to eat (no candy - chip - cakes and I use to eat alot of fried type foods with tons of butter) and very large portions - ususal only cook what i am going to eat that night and if there are left overs put them up right away - I am lucky that my grandson eats things i don't like so i don't have any temptations from him.... That's my day.... Food is no longer the center of my universe.... -

I too just got my 2nd fill - and don't have as much restriction as i would like - just ate a cup of cream pinto bean soup - and still hungry - Don't know about port being aligned wrong - I know that the doc had a heck of a time finding the soft spot the 1st time but yesterday got it after the 2nd stick (he numbs you first) i'm not scheduled to go back until the 19th of December - I am suppose to be on the same diet as when 1st banded liquids mushiee soft regular - each one week :embarassed: -
I did NOT like the medifastoatmeal at all... imho taste like card board - I like their banana cream shake though and a little real banana and ice in a blender - yummy I do like their cream of brocolli Soup - and cream of chicken - good to have at work for lunch..

Laura - this is what my doc recommends - I like the cinnimon - i add a tad of raisans to mine... I love it - I got the banana too but like the cinnamons the best. This is low sugar and that's why doc recommends - compare the sugar content - it's still sweet tasting but not so many grams. I have taken the cinnamon and added splenda brown sugar - applesauce - raisins and made Cookies - you get 4 med size cookies - a little spongie but over all pretty good (i cooked them soft) - i figured about 45 c a cookie. - but since one packet makes 4 you can't over do it.....

I asked him about that today (thinking of you:D) doing fills for banders from out of town. He said that since each doc installs ports and bands differently its a big liability and that he would do them under flouriscope (sp) and that it would cost quite a bit - I then asked him about fill centers - he says that the band companies don't like them too much - that they rather have the doc do the fills.. As far as the hair issue goes I am lucky so far knock on wood - mine is ok - maybe it's the fat issue - by this i mean we have cut our fat intake by alot - I get some with everymeal - so I think i am getting my allotment Well it's 9:40 and here i still - my bedtime is 10 - i get up at 5 and am to work by 7:30 - so i really better get off this computer - gotta clean up the kitchen, make coffee etc. Till tomorrow..... Connie What are you eating??? How many caloires do you consume a day? Are you exercising??? Do you know what full feels like - I am not taking stuffed but full. That is a new feeling for us - cuz we never stopped eating until we were stuffed prior to banding,.. What foods make you choke??? Gotta give us a little more info so that we can help. Ususally choking aka golf ball in the chest or pbing occurr - from eating too fast not chewing eating foods that don't agree with your band (breads dry meats for some anyway) and from eating too much. Let me know what you eat in a day - what kind of exercise you do and how many grams of protein and calories you consume daily -

BRAG ALL YOU WANT.. YOU DESERVE IT !!!! YOU DID THE WORK!!! Now that really pisses me off - Why would anyone bag on you for loosing 100% of your weight that a bunch of sh*t - PROPS TO YOU !!! It's not obsessive it is what all our goals should be imho - with that being said - at 140 I am worried about how i will look - and for me having the extra 30 - 40 pounds will make me happy ans still a whole lot healthier than being 250. I picked my # out of the air - well sort of - I was very happy at 170 when i was in my 30's - so that's how i got that number. Again what's good for you might not be for others - but in no way should they put you down - I know that when I was 17 - got down to 115 and my stepmom said i was too skinny. I was a size 5/6. I was thin but still had fat mentallity ... I will tell you all right now - when I get to 170 I will brag - brag - brag and i will deserve to brag cuz that will be a great accomplishment - h*ll losing 40 lbs in the last 3 months has been and I am HAPPY and I will not let anyone take that from me. Jachut - tell all these people to go jump in a lake.... Please never shut up - you have alot of good advice - you eat normal you exercise and you are at goal... I am happy for you...

Ok Gang - I am off this site for 2 hrs minutes - and come back to 2 pages - Can't believe it... I am ADDICTED - I am here way too much during the day when they pay me to work not give advice Tomorrow - I will ck in the morning - then noon and when i get home from exercise - I gotta get some work done - i am going on vacation in 3 weeks for 2 weeks - Not going any where expect not to work - So Phyl you will be here by the end of Nov right?? We can get together... Phyl Good Job on the food choices - this is what it is all about :clap2: It went fine - I was there for 2 hrs - a tad of it was waiting - but met with the nurtistionist and I am still taking the wrong callcuim - citrate is what i am suppose to take - and now say to get Centrum chewables.. I have 2 big bottles of the flinstone & calicum - I guess i will give my 3 yr gd my Flinstones - but will finish the calicums cuz i like them - She liked my food diary. I LOVE Dr. Bobby - I always tell him about our support site and i told him that i can't beleive that some of the docs out there don't give their patients alot of info - there are so many newbies out there who don't know what to eat etc - I really like that Dr B has the nutristionist gives you a big binder full of info menus and even home work on how to eat and count Protein ... Fill went fine - he numbed me up and hit the port on the 2nd or 3rd stick - last time it took FOREVER to find the port. He put in about 1.cc so i have about 2.5 now i think - i don't really concern myself with the size of my band or how many cc's - he has you drink Water and sees if it goes down - got small golf ball after a big sip - he let some out - then made me drink 1 whole glass before he took the needle out. He wants to make sure that i can drink water comfortably.. I am now on full liquids for a week then mushie/soft (i cheat and combine the 2 - cuz i don't do pureed meats/fish - i eat very soft / moist fish -meat in very small bite. I had my homemade pinto bean Soup - you make a pot of pinto Beans (beans garlic cumin onion chili powder salt hamhock alittle chiriazo) cook until done - (i am a person who cooks - i don't measure or time except for baking) Drain - reserve the liquid - put beans in blender or magic bullet - puree and then add back to the broth - CREAM PINTO BEAN SOUP... Great for full liquid diet... Toss ham hocks or give to the dogs. or if you want pick apart and puree with beans. Ate a good full cup and am full.. Dr Bobbie then sits and talks to you after your fill - OMG a doctor who sits and talks to you - Phly - will you be here on the 3rd of Nov - They are having a fashion show receiption dance for their bariatric patients I think it starts at 6:30 let me know and maybe we can meet.. Mango - I am glad you are doing better Newcc - that's what this site is all about :0) CeCe - it usually happens to some at about 3 months out - and real cause unknown as it happens to people who do get all their protein, boitin, vitamins etc - some think it might be a reaction to going under but there is no real answer - the good news is that it does grow back... Hi Dini - You are doing great!!! What's your goal weight - you must almost be there Brandy - To me it's the only way to vacation- I haven't been to St Kitts Aruba - Grenada (sp) belize .. I have done most of the island in the carribean - 5 cruise their and 2 Mexico Car - Great that you are joining us for the Thanksgiving challenge Ok - it's 8:30 and i have some t.v. to watch - biggest loser from last night... ssankofa - If some of us don't make it - no biggie - but just maybe it will help when we want to eat a little more than we should or something (like halloween candy) we shouldn't... That little angel on your shoulder. May also inspire some to get up an move more too... It all good - just a motivational boost...

Heather I think most of us had Last Meal Mentaility - that we could never eat again - but the experienced banders told me I would/could eat after the band. What changes is that those high calorie nachos just aren't as appealing as they once were (at least to me) - plus you can't eat nachos & burrito all in one sitting anyway - I find that all the work that went into getting my band (had TONS of test) the visits with the nurtisionist, reading on this board - has changed my way of thinking - I have lost 40 lbs since July - this equates to 4 - 10lbs bags of potatoes that i am no longer carrying around. I feel so much better. There was a day when I was 1st on soft food - that i was really tired (one of my triggers to over eat) and i started to fry some bacon to make white cream gravy - had the bacon in the frying pan... Looked at it and said to myself - Janet - you went through all this work to get a lapband and you are going to screw it up by eating cream gravy & rice - come on you don't need it - Guess what - I threw it away and ate something heathly. I still go out to eat - will be hungry very hungry think with my old brain - order taco enchallida & bean - want to include a chili relleno but don't want to look like a pig - food comes - I can only eat the taco. Our brains are our problem not our tummies - Once they develope something for that - then the issue of being fat will be cured 100%. But I find that the band helps so very much - I think about what i am eating - I plan - I don't keep junk in the house - I don't think about food 24/7 - I still get hungry yes - I can over eat too - but I try and choose low calorie low fat sf foods... It's a great tool - but that's all it is - ya gotta do the head work too. But it does clear your mind enought so that you can - and this site is a great help - heck I am here way too often when I should be working - I think it's my transfer addiction :biggrin1: !!!!

Told you we are all alike - even though we are different. I still eat in the middle of the night - but now it's sf pudding and sf fudgecicles - If i could just quit this behavior - I would save about 200 calories a day... But I can't so at least it's 200 c and not 1000 = NSV..

I posted this on the 50+ thread - so you 7's who read that thread - you can just skip this message from me. I thought my Lucky #7's would enjoy my little rant - especially since i forgot i was on the 50+ thread and say how great us 7's are We were talking about Will Power - me saying that we do have it with the help of the band.. On the will power - as I see it we do have it - we say we don't cuz then we wouldn't need the band - that's not necessarily so - we have all lost weight before - that means we did stick to a diet at one time in our lives Yes we all gained it back and then some - That's not necessarily lack of will power but falling back into old habits just a little at a time. Oh this extra taco isn't going to but 40 lbs back on it's ok to eat it - those cookie - that we started out only going to eat one and then the bag is gone. we gain 5 lbs - do go for a while eating healthy some of the time but slipping more and more and then gain 5 more - so on and so on..til it's all back and then some - and then we are so disgusted with ourselves again - cuz this last time we lost the weight we said "WE WILL NEVER RE-GAIN IT" as it was too hard to loose... We get hopeless. We think that we should be able to eat like we do and enjoy our food and be thin at the same time... We feel so cheated - cuz we look at our thin friends and it seems like they can eat any and everything and stay thin (a rare few do but those are the rare cases) but our thin friends don't eat like we do - cuz most of us are closet eater - people don't really see you eating 3rd serving of dinner at night or getting up and eating a half a bag of cookie or a bag of candy - not one candy bar but 2 or 3 King Size, socity is to blame too - super size this -All you can eat buffets. We play little mental games with ourselves... We can't do - it's too hard why can't i be like Suzie.. But that girl who eats a big lunch isn't eating a big dinner with desert too and then another dinner before bed... But you know what "We can do it " "We are doing it" We have a great tool that does help you eat smaller meals but we all are working hard using our will power to make healthy food choices. We could be still making bad food choices even with the band but we all went through alot to get this tool - We are trying to figure out why we ate - what are triggers are and how to deal with them other than food. LADIES we are learning a new lifestyle - which I don't think we really did in any other diet we went on - we just figured that we would follow the diet and once the weight was gone we could go back to eating our way. For once in our lives we are really working the program we understand that if we want to succeed at this that we have to eat healthy for the rest of our lives - not just until the weight is off but forever.. We can have that cake - candy - but only every now and then. With the band we can't over eat a 240z steak - a large baked potato with the works - half a loaf of bread dinner salad & Soup Plus desert. The band will stop that binge for sure even if you don't have alot of restriction,..:embarassed: We have this site which we didn't have before - it's made up of FAT women & men - people just like us - who understands our addiction to food which is physicolocgical and not phyical. We can talk to each other - we understand each other - We are on this journey together we are here to support each other - give a helping hand when needed and slap (from me:biggrin1:) when needed. Ladies we really do have will power we have just convinced ourselves that we didn't - but we do - look at us lucky #7's. We are STRONG women - we are on our road to recovery - 10 lbs by Turkey Day... That's will power - Lucky #7 Will Power. & over 50+ will power (and us older ones are a tad smarter than the young ones - age does have it's benifits)... Ok - the story above is mine - but i bet there is more than one other person out there who felt the same way as i did/do... We all are different but again we are all alike... Well enought of my rant ....

You are welcome Linda - Kids - I am glad I only had 1 but doing it twice since i have his son. We are a long ways away It would never get to us - too much sand here - i said 60 miles but that's to the bottom of the mountain and San Bernardino Mtn is a BIG mountain.. Your summers are nice June to Oct - while that's the HOT months for us with Oct to April May being out nice months... Linda :happybday2::happybday2: in case i'm not on Friday ... Jachut - Nothing makes me so special - it's that I carry my weight very well for a short person - even doctors don't think i weigh as much as i do. Awful & Ugly are about the same - awfuls just not as bad as ugly I get what you are saying though i think - that we think 120 is too skinny cuz we are use to looking at the world through fat eyes and truely 120 is what is considered normal for your height build etc.????

Will Power - Something we thought we didn't have but with the motivation/help of our band we do have some... Isn't that strange? Maybe a as we go along - our brains are getting banded too??
