Way to go Crabcake - 10 lbs by 1/3 :clap2: I am just aiming for 1 lb a week for the month of December... Luvsrocks - Good for you - I did this too - well not 5 weeks prior to surgery but a couple of weeks before. Carol - Hope this fill gets you to your sweet spot - It helps cuz once you have eaten your protein first not much room for those nasty carbs Denise - Head Hunger - OMG this is what the whole battle is about - even with proper restriction - head hunger rules. I have problems with this alot especially at night - but the only thing that really helps is that i don't have the bad stuff in the house and only cook single servings (sometime I do have lunch leftovers especially if I make a one pot wonder) but I will find myself - looking - looking for more to eat cuz it taste so good.. -
Yep I am back - So watch out everyone the food angel is back I am patroling again .... You can have your sweets (moderation) - but remember you gotta pay for them with increased exercise and very healthy food choices for all your meals... OK GANG - HERE IS THE DECEMBER MOTTO I WILL ALLOW MYSELF A FEW TREATS - BUT I WILL PAY FOR THEM - I WILL INCREASE MY EXERCISE AND ALL MY MEALS WILL BE LOWER CALORIES AND VERY HEALTHLY CHOICES. Had a great time with my Sis & BIL - but omg I was tried by the time they left - it's not that we did alot - i would have done more with them not here but - would have had quiter evenings.. Not talk talk talk... You would never know it but I am an introvert... Being around people for a long time - wears me out - I love my time to myself to recharge... I like getting back to my routine...

Michelle It just might be too many carbs - typical daily food BF - 2 eggs or egg beater - or Yogurt with 1/4 c granola - or 1 weight control oatmeal. Lunch - turkey chili beans 1 cup or cup of veggies & little can of tuna or soup. Dinner - 4 or 5 oz fish - 1/2 cup rice or red baked potatoes and veggies Snacks - sf yogurt - or sf pudding or sf fudgecicle. I eat carbs (don't count veggie or fruit - just rice pasta bread etc as carb) - but not alot and i rarely drink - and when I do have a sandwich or toast I buy lite bread. (40 caloires a slice) I would cut the wine and piece of bread and add veggies and a salad... imho Are you exercising?? drinking your water??? -
Salsa - CONGRATS ON ONELANDERS:clap2: and yes if you lost tons last week this week is going to be slowing if anything.. Just keep up the good work Mango - ONEDERLAND - FANTASTIC !!!:clap2: OMG Ruby - we are Sisters - I can relate to all of the above - start out with 14/16 in plus size section then move to regular section- i am 14/16 in pants in plus size - some xl tops in regular womens - and 1x in plus. I kept a couple of pairs of 16 pants cuz some times I don't want the tight waist - 16 are way to baggy but comfey (sp) i did buy a 2 x when i went shopping a couple of weeks ago - cuz it was a cute top and 1 x was too tight... Yes some brands are cut smaller than others and sometimes - you can try on a 14 and it fits and then try on a 16 and it doesn't - I don't try to be ruled by this size but how it looks on me and makes me feel. But yes I can relate to trying to down size and being so afarid that they won't fit and I will say - WHAT'S THE USE... Take baby steps - do plus size 14 1st - then move to 16 in womens and then include a 14 - it will really depend where you carry your weight too and make sure they have some streach - that always helps..

Distant - Thanks!!!! - ya I did work very hard - till 2 pieces of cake - 2 cookies and ya i forgot to tell about the cheese cake - but i didn't drink the calories and really enjoyed the sweets instead and my food calories weren't too bad. I did exercise M/W/T/F last week didn't on Saturday and did 2 miles today... Am back to fish and veggies for dinner - plus i am having a tooth problems and can't chew really well - can't get into the dentist til 12/12 - thank God no real pain ... I agree with Linda - you looked good at 199 - but you will look good at 135 and you will be healthier too. I think those of us who weight in the mid 200 & above look at the lower weights and bmi as skinny already - but I know you weren't - You werent as fat as most of us but you were overweight and your bmi was not normal.. Looking GOOD Girl - you keep of the good work :clap2: I am proud of you for getting a handle on it while you are young and not waiting until you have major health problems - You have extended your life... Linda - Xmas cookies - OMG - put me in a major depression last week just thinking about them - I will be baking them at my DIL's and will bring a baggie home for GS and will allow myself 5 of them (may change that to 10) Plus I have the whole tamales issue too... They aren't diet food - masa lard cheese - OMG they are great - going to make and cook them too.. We will just have to increase our exercise for all this EXTRA food... This is why I am only a level 2 for Kathybad's challenge:p and am in Nichol's exercise challenge gotta pay for the sweets some how... If I had trays of xmas cookies in my kitchen - they would be eaten by me - band or no band... My drug of choice - so what i bring home for my gs will be hidden from me and once my 5 or 10 are gone then that's it no more - tamales too - will bring home just a few and when they are gone they are gone - won't have ton's of junk - but will have some - ..... I will continue to eat healthy and exercise during the month of December - but will allow myself more treats than I have in the last 4 months - plus I go on 12/19 for another fill - (only need a tad as of right now) We will survive!!!!! We will continue to lose... We will eat healthy 98% of the time and we will EXERCISE !!!!

Hi Gang ~~~ I'm back............................. My Sis left this morning a little before 7 a.m. - I am at work going thru my 117 emails and readying everyones updates here. Congrats Ruby for the great boobies and hubby. I was a 42 C - am now 38 D and would be happy at a 34 Full B.. I need the lift mostly.. but heck I would rather do my face 1st - the other stuff is covered up by clothing and a bra.. I didn't drink the whole time my Sis was here (my family likes to drink) but at the 40 yr wedding anniversary we went to I did eat cake:eek: said i would rather eat my caloires than drink them:p - haven't been on the scales - won't till Thursday - so will see how I did - as of last thrus did make 198 :bounce: We had rain & wind Friday & Saturday and I am colder than i use to be - i guess it's cuz we don't have all that insulation any more to keep up warm:p Well gotta get back to work - will ck in later xoxox Janet

Sue - I don't think thats going to work - we are food addicts this will be a life time battle for us - Lifetime Lifestyle Change... I wish it would only take 3 months Brenda - CONGRATS !!! YOU WILL BE IN OUR THOUGHTS & PRAYERS.. Denise - I get pissed when something stops me from going to the gym it's no cuz i love it - but know that it's my secert wepon to lose weight. Michelle - I am glad you are doing better and have had 2 good strong days... That's great to hear... One day at a time - that's it.. You were so supportive when I 1st got here - I remember your kind advise - for some reason I have the impression you are a very soft spoken kind woman who maybe doesn't always stands up for herself... But you are now on a journey where you are doing everything within your power to become a healthy strong woman that you are deep inside.. Well gang guess who I met today - someone from this board... Phyllser & I had breakfast this morning - she lives in Washington and is a what we call a snowbird - she & her hubby spend their winter here in the Desert about 20 miles from where I live. I think it's great to be able to meet someone you talk to here... My sis will be here tomorrow for 4 day - got the guess room cleaned up with fresh sheets - dusted - vacuumed etc - and now i am hungry - off to my fish & veggie & 1/2 c rice. Talk to you all later.. -
Tammy - I have seen couch to 5K but don't know what it is - we have an exercise challenge for December - 20 day from 12/1 to 12/25 if i remember correctly - I think Jackie is in charge of that one... Not sure We also have the level challenge that Kathybad started. go back a couple pages.. As far as fills go - who the heck knows - my 1st fill tight right away - had good restriction for about 1 1/2 then it loosened up - 2nd fill 10/24 and didn't feel it that first day - in fact took a couple days but my doc makes me go back to banding diet (1 week full liquids - 1 week mushie - 1 week soft - the regular ) I don't follow orders real well - so I do about 4 days liquids - then move to mushie/soft - I eat fish 99% of the time and it's very soft ... I have some restriction but not a lot right now but if I eat too fast i will get the golf ball & the other night pb'd on a 4 bites of a cheese enchillada.... I am lucky I have a gym right across the street from my housing tract I have been on vacation for the last 2 weeks so I have been going in the morning after I drop the grandkids off at school - but usually go right after work - I walk on the treadmill most days (4 to 5 times a week) - 2 to 3 miles and maybe 4 on Saturday and some days will do a little on the weight machines - I keep a food diary and eat about 1000 to 1200 calories a day - i save my morning & afternoon Snacks for nights as this is when i want to eat the most.. Tomorrow is my weigh day (I only weigh in once a week cuz the scales are just to fickle - one day up 2 -next down 3 - but I hope to be in onelander tomorrow - What's my motivation- I feel so much better and have so much more energy ... I am able to buy 14/16's was in a 22/24 top and 18/20 pants I get ton's of complements - well execpt today when I picked up Grandaughter (3yr) from pre-school - some RUDE little boy called me an OLD LADY - i am only 52 - I told him some day he would be old just like me...

Hey Gang - I have been MIA for 2 days... This has been the busiest vacation ever.. I am going to have to go back to work to rest!!!!!! Salsa - I agree with the commitment and $$$$ - I think it's that stupid surgar that got to me... Felicia - Welcome to pb' world - I get golf ball from eating to fast and the other day pb'd my cheese enchilada by eatting too fast... I forget i have the band most of the time. Macry - I love your pic's - to me crusing is the only way to go on vacation ... I have BC California and I didn't have to have any supervised diet - just noted all the diets programs I had been on... I think it should depend on your bmi - age - how long you have been overweight -co-morbitiies etc a gf told me that a PS doc here in the Desert is now doing the surgery and you only have to be 50 lbs overweight.... I don't think I would bother if i had to wait 3 yrs to get banded - but again - there are those who think the band is the magic answer to food issues and put the weight back - so that in itself tells you it's not being just banded but the whole mind thing that's needs working on - I bet insurance companies will make it harder as they collect more #'s on how long the weight stays off. OK my Sis just called - they are staying with me for 4 day - so i guess i gotta go clean the guess room - wash the sheets dust and make room in the closet.. OMG more work - but worth it.... It will be nice having my Sis for 4 dayss. Yep - Phyl & I met for breakfast - it was great meeting another Lucky #7... She is just as sweet in person as she is on the board... Phyl - our pic didn't come thru - try to upload again Well gotta go clean and then food shopping - my bro in law is a breakfast eater Shout outs to Peaches, Chim, Jackie, unruhly, distant, Mango... And everyone else - gotta get moving... Dini should be on her way back to Ireland - think she came Sat and was going to be here for 4 day (per Phyl ;0)

Hi Michelle I was wondering where you were!!! I am glad you are ok - depressed but not in an accident or in the hospital - How's your Mom?? I am over the honeymoon period with by band - Over thanksgiving had a couple of pieces of cake - had turkey day twice - now i keep going into the kitchen and looking for food... That's why I am on the computer - I need distraction,... Food issues - well not feeling very smart tonite - so i will leave that for another day... Thank goodness for the band cuz it doesn't let you down right pig out.. -

Ingyrob- I had 2nd Thanksgiving w/my son & his family yesterday - another piece of choc cake - OMG last night just wanted to eat eat eat. I don't scour labels either and I still eat white rice and potatoes but I have to stay away from sweets - I really was missing eating last night and was half a$$ wondering why i got banded.... It was so much easier being fat (well I still am fat but you know what i mean)... This was just a temp lapse in my mental state - but OMG - I am really going to miss xmas cookies and tamales - I know i can eat them in small quainties but they are high calorie foods and my lifestyle change is to eat low calories. But I miss my FRIEND (food) sometimes - I know it's not my friend but you understand what I am saying NMSunshine - Can't help with the creatininne - but don't panic until after you see the doc... Sue - I would KILL HIM :omg: -
Priscilla - Yes I remember you !!! I know that you had your heart set on a lapband - but since you can't I think I would go for bypass or VGS (gastric sleave) .. The weight loss is so liberating... I have so much more energy... Good Luck and keep up posted.... Jackie Congrats on the Large Leather Jacket that's so great and yes you will be in that medium before you know it... I bet that felt so good when you DH commented on you being Hot Welcome back Marcy - You did very good on your cruise... Hope you had a great time and enjoyed the warm weather and can't wait to see pics CeCe you are doing super - what's your secert 70 lbs :clap2: Tammy - Welcome - of course you can join in - you were banded in July - we do have 2 people who were banded in June and one from August - We have a great group - support everywhere you turn - just be careful of me - I am the food cop aka angel.... I am on your shoulder telling you to eat healthy and put those sweets down - you don't need them - throw them away Blooeyez - I have had corn in soups and never had a problem - did you just eat too fast.. Felicia - No black friday shoppping for me - can't stand the crowds and that kind of stuff with all the shoving and pushing - I would have to knock someone out for trampling anyone. Ya it's great to save $$ but at the cost of someone's life or injury - Not me... I has 2nd turkey day w/my DIL yesterday - turkey got stuck once but i found out if you take a small bite of turkey with mashed potatoes it went down really easy.. Ok gang - last nite I was really missing food !!!! I missed being able to sit down and just eat eat eat.. Don't ask me why - Yesterday walked to the gym (about 1 mile round trip) then did 2 miles on the treadmill- worked a little weights walked home and started pulling our xmas decorations- got the tree up (not decorated yet) all the other decorations in place - as stated before went to DIL and had turkey with her & my DGD's.. Ate a piece of Chocloate cake and talked about making Xmas cookies & tamales.. I think it was the xmas cookies that got me to missing food cuz i LOVE THEM.. Yes I can eat them I know this and I bet you $$ i can eat they in the quanity that I use too. Why is it that bad stuff goes down easy.. But I can't - I just can't go back to that mindset. This is what I mean about just don't start - I think that cuz in the last 2 days i have had sweet (real sweets not sf sweet) that it's the drug that just makes me want more and more.... I go back to the doc's on 12/19 and will most likely get a small fill - last night took 2 chewable vitimans and a few vit c's and forgot about the band and took them like i didn't have a band - swallowed 5 pills with water and had no problems.. Well - my fur babies woke me up at 6:30 a.m (went to bed at 10) gotta finish the tree - go to the store and clean up - next week is my last week of vacation - gotta get my xmas shoppping done - GS takes driving test again on Tuesday - hope to meet up with Phyl (aren't you guys so jealous - I get to really meet another Lucky #7:p) my Sister will be here Friday (she lives in Central CA - Modesto area) - have a 13th bday for GD, 2 parties on Saturday and back to work on Monday - OMG I get more rest when I am working:rolleyes: But I do like being able to go to the gym 1st thing in the morning while you are fresh... I will ck in later - Have a Great Sunday !!!!

Plump princess - My child is 1/2 Afro American (well grown now) and to him growing up he thought the N word was a bad word just like the F word. It's not used in my house or in my present - I don't think that the word should be used by anyone black white purple etc - why in the heck would an A/A want to respond to such a derogatory remark or word (I would think that you would want the word bad due to the negative condentation) - as far as it being that its adopted into the culture's lexicon - i think that is a cop out - heck if you keep telling yourseld you can't do something then you won't - but if you say i can do it you can - just like the little engine that could - calling yourself stupid then you will be stupid - it all about positivive reaffirmations not negative ones - are you saying it's ok to refer to women as b's??? I don't think so... -

HRLady - Defense is just to stay away from it for me... I was just reading and artical about eat low gylicmic (sp) low sugar cutting out white stuff basicially - eat brown breads, rice, etc - stated the more sugar you eat the more you want and the more your body stores as fat. I make xmas cookies w/my DGDs but this yr it will be at their house and i can only bring a couple home - they are my downfall - i will eat xmas cookies 24/7 (sugar cookies w/frosting). I am lucky at the office - I am in a different wing so not really exposed to all the sweets that come in during the holidays (lunch room on the west side of the building and I am in the east wing) and i know myself well enough that if I start - i won't stop - so I just won't start... Plus I am almost in onelander and i will be so jazzed to get there so that's motivation enought. I go back to dr on 12/19 but even if i need a fill (right now maybe just a tad) sweets go right thru - i had a piece of cake yesterday but didn't bring any home and have been exercising every day this past week (i am on vacation this past week and next and go every morning arount 7 or 8 a.m.) Exercise is another defense if you eat some treats make yourself exercise 1/2 for each treat - if you hate exercise as much as i do then you will stay away from the treats:p Saying no makes you in control and not the food - it's empowering to me to win over stupid food... Good Luck... -

Jacjut - you have aboriginies they aren't considered "People of color?? arent' they discrimated against ?? I have read that they are only 1% of your populatins - but that back in the 1800 they were massacred by the colonizers Not only were sacred Aboriginal places violated and desecrated, the Aboriginals themselves became hunted like kangaroos for pleasure and fun, Happily many things have changed for the better amongst Aborigines today, and many anti-discrimination laws have been reinforced. Racial discrimination is a very serious crime in Australia, and the government is giving extra support to indigenous communities. In reality, Aborigines in 2006 are receiving many more social benefits than any other community. Many Aboriginals are completely integrated into society, through music, art, politics, making their presence enhance the real Australia. I think every culture and country has it's own form of racism... It's very unforturnate - but there are all forms of discrimination from rich people to poor people - white trash, mexican trash, black trash - who are we to judge another person... My family is multi cultural (3 diff races) but they aren't with out predjudist.. I am an idealistic person - I think we are all the same no matter the color of our skin or what our bank book looks like - and how this world would be just a better place if everyone thought like this - too bad the rest of the world doesn't think like you and me - then it would be a peaceful world... -

Linda - it's one day and you did ok - Dentist I love my dentist he is GREAT - I get gas just to fill a tooth - but I still don't go to him unless i have a problem - i need to go right not - but >>>>>>>>>>> Mango :clap2::clap2: I want one but don't know if I should spend the $$$ got 5 family and 3 gf to buy for plus my DGD b-day on 12/1 so we will see..... OK gang - here was your food cop/angels menu yesterday Walked 3.5 miles in the morning Mashed tatoes - butternut squash - turkey - stuffing and a tad of gravey - 1 piece sf double layer pumpkin pie and 1 pie cake. guesstimate calories to be around 1300 to 1500 got up and went to the gym this a.m. did another 3.67 miles and got on the scale this morning and weighted the same as yesterday - but i don't know how long it takes for the calorie to turn in to actual fat - don't think its 12 hrs... so will keep up the exercise...

Thanks Kim !!! OMG 34 degrees - it will be mid 70's here today - those who are cooking might have to turn on the a/c - Yep past the half way mark - but am concerned that will be hitting a plateau (sp) soon - I have lost a little something each week - Went to the gym this a.m. was only going to do 2 miles - but slowed the speed increased the incline and did 3 mile in 1 hr.

Kirajh - I made it so you can eat without feeling guilty - You can eat your turkey dinner without eating 2000 calories - and turely its not about the food - I made a double layered pumkin pie to take to my friends house - low fat cream chees - sf cool whip - sf instant pudding - pumkin - splenda - all the taste and 1/2 the calories of a regular one. Jackie - Heard you too :clap2: Congrats on making Goal.. Cate54 - OMG 5-8 miles - that freaking fantastic - I thought i was doing great when I did 4 miles / Brandy - Congrats on losing those pounds you gained on the cruise told you they would come off quickly Kim Congrates on 57 lbs:clap2::clap2: thank really really great CeCe - So Happy you too made the Turkey day challenge.. OK gang i made the challenge too I have lost 50 lbs :eyebrows: HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO ALL..... REMEMBER IT'S ABOUT FRIENDS FAMILY AND GIVING THANKS - HEALTHY FOOD CHOICES - YOU WILL FEEL BETTER TOMORROW IF YOU THINK TODAY;)

Sunny - you are doing GREAT - you made your goal -:clap2: I don't know if I am going to make mine - all that drinking last weekend - i got on the scales last night and it hasn't moved - I did 4 miles Mon 3 yesterday and 3.5 today with about 20 minutes of weight - I need to get all my water in and see what happens in the a.m. Linda :clap2::clap2: On goal plus one :clap2: Banana Republic :clap2::clap2: Salasa - Don't work too hard - but think of all the exercise you are getting - talk to you when you get all hooked up again - Cate every oz on meat has 7 grms of protein - read the label on all other foods - it will tell you protein grams per serving... all those sites that were given to you are great - but imho you gotta learn to read food lables - I have a scale that i weight my food on and it gives me calories - protein grams etc... But I am a label reader... Ok gang - just cking in - gotta jump in the shower - taking dgd to get her hair cut...

RPHdiva it's gas pains -walk and try gasx strips.... I stayed and extra day in the hospital because it was so serve and I knew the pain shots would put me to sleep where as me an vicoden don't get along too well. -
Drinks - Lite beer (12 oz) or 4 oz wine = 100 calories 4 oz champane 86 calories Holiday Coffee Gingerbread Latte made with skim milk and no whip cream -200 c Candie yams with brown sugar marshemallw or pecans 500 C vs Mash potatoes 240 - 300 depending on how made- (make with skim milk and just a tad of butter - increases the protien and cut the calories) Gravey vs Cranberry Sause - choose gravey 80 c per 1/2 cup compared to 180 for the same serving of cranberry sause Ham vs turkey vs prime rib Turkey -skinless white 193 c per 5 oz dark 260 c ham 5 oz 340 c Prime rib 400 Pumkin vs apple vs pecan Pumkin 270 c per slice (make with splenda and cut the calories) Apple 370 c per slice Pecan 700 per slice Dinner - Skip the drink I would rather eat :hungry: 120 1/2 cup potatoes - 155 4 oz Turkey - 40 1/4 cup Gravy - 25 veggies - Stuffing 1/4 cup 60 c = 400 calories 1/2 slice of Pumpkin pie Pie 135 Ok gang just gave you Thanksgiving dinner for 535 calories and those with restriction most likely couldn't eat all of that food and if you made the food - like tatos and pie you could reduce the calories futher ... See it can be done without breaking the band !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
