Food getting stuck, do I need a fill?

Shelley I get stuck only if I have eaten too fast or not chewed well enough or it I have taken 1 bite too many and I think i am at my sweet spot. - What amount of food are you eating before you feel full. Eating pretty healthy in fat people language and what is really is eating healthy are 2 totally different things imho - a fat person ya i ate veggies but left out the fact that they were drowning in butter - Oh ya I had fish - left off that it was in a batter and fried. I mean no offense here but our perception on food is a bit off centered – to us a portion size is a whole pint of ice cream not ½ cup.. As Wheestin said - what are you eating - what is your exercise - For Me i find that keeping a food diary is essiential - I count calories and Protein grms - I keep my calories anywhere between 1000 - 1200 a day I exercise 4 days a week 3 miles a day at 16 minute mile. I eat low fat sugar free - protein first veggie (with I can't beleive it's not butter spray) then rice - Pasta - tatoes if I am still hungry. You really need to give us a little more info so that we can help you get back in band mode -

You don't know what King Cake is - it has prizes in it - if you get the piece witht the baby - you have to throw the next party - you must not watch the food channel - i still watch it - When it first came on about 15 yrs ago i watched all the time - but it makes you hungry - so I don't watch it too much anymore - but I still love Paula Dean - Emeril - Gaida (sp) Iron Chef A king cake (sometimes rendered as kingcake or kings' cake) is a type of cake associated with the festival of Epiphany in the Christmas season in a number of countries, and in other places with Mardi Gras and Carnival. It is popular in Christmas season in France (galette/gâteau des Rois), Portugal (Bolo Rei), Spain (Roscón de Reyes and in Catalonia called tortell), Greece (vasilopita) and Bulgaria (banitsa). In the United States, which celebrates Carnival ranging from Mobile, Alabama to East Texas, centered on New Orleans it is associated instead with Mardi Gras season traditions. The cakes have a small trinket (often a small plastic baby, sometimes said to represent Baby Jesus) inside, and the person who gets the piece of cake with the trinket has various privileges and obligations. I have always wanted to go to New Orleans - to eat po-boys - crawdads - gumbo - creole - see the sights... I still want to eat my way across America - I just won't be able to eat as much  - Memphis Ribs - Anything Southern - New England Clam Chowder - Maryland Crabs.. I am a food addict:ohmy:

Do you guys supend both parties in a fight - That's the part that I don't get. A kid bit my GS on the bus when he was in 8th grade - he fought back and got suspended too... Made no sense to me - this kid who fought him has some issue I gathered and was known for being a trouble maker..

Hey 50 & over gang We have a new spot

Denise Thanks - I originally had my goal at 170 - then pushed it back to 160 - it really should be 145 to have a 25 bmi - but I have been reading about Happy Weight - a weight that is maintanable - For now my goal is staying as posted and may decrease it when I get to 160 - I feel good at my weight now - but know that 180 is not skinny - ya opposed to 250 it is - but in all reality I want to be healthy 1st and look good second (well only with clothes on cuz nake  I look like an 80 yrs old women) You only have what 10 to go.... I am afaird that these last 20 will be harder than the first 70 - but who knows - the band is my tool and I think we have had a great partnership so far - it's doing it job and I have been doing mine.friend and has gotten me this far I have never lost 70 lbs in my entire life ususally just 30 or 40 - Congrats on the skinny jeans  You are going to be a ONE HOT SEXY GRANDMA

Ya I thought this is what you do when you go to the GYN not the fill Dr. It took me a while to get here - it's the 1st thing I do when I get to work in the morning - and the site would not load - so I emailed you and phyl - gotta talk to my band buddies ... I was going thru withdrawls 15 hrs and no lbt.. OMG - you get off for Mardi Gras how cool is that - do you have a King Cake on Fat Tuesday... Do you go party with the masses. It looks a little scary to me what they show on t.v. - a little wild for my old age - That would be the PREFECT BAND !!!!

    eating straight after a fill?

My kind of gal :frown: I am suppose to go on post op diet - 7 days liquids - mushie - soft then regular - I do a couple days Soup and then go to mushie/soft as this is my regular eating - I eat mostly fish & veggies - But this last fill was too tight couldn't eat - tried could barely eat soup... Had a little taken out and he told me say on the liquids for a week - well guess what I had for dinner - fish very soft & veggies... a full 7 days of soup was enought... I did ok - ate slowy and chewed...

Ruby - You are welcome - That's what we are here for - but I would get rid of the Mango whatever juice - you just don't need those liquid calories - If you have to have taste - Crystal Lite... I found some stuff called Fusion – haven’t tried it yet.. On the exercise - I will give you a bit of advice that my Uncle Charles gave me - Slow down relax - don't make working out a chore - I was pushing myself so hard to get to the 15 minute mile - that I was wearing myself out - and you will notice I hardly brag about 4 miles anymore. My little suggestion on exercise - so it down some so that you can extend how many miles you can do - I warm up one song 3.2 level - then move up to 1 incline @ 3.5 then 3.6 - 3.7 and when a really good song like Power - or Le Freak comes on I push it to 3.9 or 4.0 for that song and then go back down to 3.7 - and then I will increase my incline to 4 and slow it down and walk to a slower song that's on my ipod. There are 2 trains of thought on this exercise thing - #1 length of time vs #2 intensity = well what the hell the difference as long as you are enjoying it you will do it longer the longer you do it the more calories you burn – it won’t become a chore cuz once it does you are going to quite – so I just do my little 3 miles and if I need to do a 18 or 17 min mile I will – if I feel strong I go for the 16 and if I am really pushing it 15 – I rock out with my Ipod – I most likely look silly – but who cares – I am enjoying myself and getting the job done So my advice slow down – enjoy yourself and walk or elipical a little longer…

Kari - See thats why I say we are all alike - we think we are the only ones who have this problem we aren't... We are not alone in this battle of the buldge. Good luck on DH home 24/7

Karri I would say you may not be eating enought - Also my doc allows heathly snacks and even most eating plans allow snacks - Have you ever done weight watchers - I know you are a Adtkins girl - but I think WW is a well balanced eating plan - and you can modify it to your more protein lifestyle. Also I find that when I increase my calories - the next day the scales move downwards faster. When I was on Jenny Craig - one day your calories were 1000 - then the next day 1200 - you might want to try that and you need the energy for all that exercising your are doing - you need to fuel your body and that's what food is for us now a days - fuel not our addiction...

Ruby - If you got 2 pieces of meat loaf down last night I would say get a little fill - even if's only .02 of a cc. I TOTALLY understand the taste good aspect of eating - that is how I got fat - I love the taste I would keep eating after I was full - and I can and still do it now a days - you all know how it is - one more bite - then before you know it that was one bite too many.. I haven't found that I am tighter at any one part of the day. But as you all know nights are always the problem for me. Instead of having that 2nd piece of meatloaf - have more veggies - I know it's not the same - but it satisfying the eating urge with less calories - Keep healthy low calorie foods around for your snack attacks - but the food up immediately after you have eaten - this does help some out of sight out of mind (I said sometimes cuz if you know it's there and you really want it you go pick) - how many calories are you eating and are you getting your water in - I would increase your exercise by 15 min - how many miles are you getting in at 30 minutes? Do you keep it level or do an incline - I can't do the elliptical (sp) so I stick with my walking - maybe one day You might want to get it before - so you give it a chance to settle prior to your surgery - I don't really know - since this last over fill - I am only going to get tiny ones - and if I need to go back sooner so be it - but no more aggressive fills - I think just the psychology of getting a fill even if it's .02 is enough to get you back in band mode. Good Luck – to bad we don’t have the key to our bands so that at night we could lock it up and hide the key till the morning – then open it so you could eat breakfast & lunch..

Thanks you guys - It was a hard way to get there (this last week 4.5 lbs) but I will take it :hurray:. Once I get to 160 omg only 20 lbs to go - I may change it to 145 - I would like to have a healthy bmi and not to be considered overweight. But will see - the lastest Self magazine talks about a Happy Weight one that is maintainable even if it's a little over what is considered normal bmi... So that's what I am looking for - and till I get there and see what it's like to maintain that weight - I won't know - so in typing this I am keeping 160 - I think that just maybe my happy weight... One day at a time - one pound at at a time - our goal is to be healthy first and look good secondly.. Yep Phyl it's cool out there - but I will take it - cuz those 110 days are around the corner  - but don't know if I want to get in a pool - i bet it's hard getting out of it

    People rant

I would say I am passive aggressive – I don’t like confrontation – I am not good at it. so what - that's who I am - We all aren't going to be alike - we all have diff opinions - that's what makes up the world - ya you might not like how people respond to certain situations but you can not inflict your own personality on other people and expect them to behave as you would I hate people who pretend to be martyrs - or cry babies - but that's me - it takes all kinds I have a girlfriend who is a big martyr - that's her so what - she is a nice person otherwise - she has issues (who doesn't) I don't let that little part of her take away from our friendship - My 17 yr GS has this whole thing about not liking someone for whatever reason - they gotta make a big deal about it - I say if you don't like someone then don't be around them - what’s the use - they usually don't care if you like them or not If we are having a conversation I take it at face value - I'm not one to try and figure out the secret meaning of what you might be trying to say - That takes too much work - but I do think if you have a diff of opinion - you should voice it - but people don't have to get nasty about it Merely being passive-aggressive isn't a disorder but a behavior — sometimes a perfectly rational behavior, which lets you dodge unpleasant chores while avoiding confrontation. It's only pathological if it's a habitual, crippling response reflecting a pervasively pessimistic attitude.
