Ruby - I love to shop - even when I was 18/20 - I love clothes... Peaches - I think most of us are closet eaters :cursing: and night time eaters too. I just don't buy junk like Peanut M&M - (in fact I dont know how come you guys didn't flame me for my brownie batter eating on Sat Night:tongue2: - but it was only 5 bites max and now no more brownie mix in the house - I guess you all missed that in my post yesterday morning:cool2:) But for my night time eating I do without snacks during the day - I budget my calories to allow for night eating - I usually have a snack size popcorn after dinner and try to eat one piece at a time - I have 8 oz OJ or Light Crangrape juice or 1 or 2 sf choc puddings or healthy choice fudgecicles and I dont eat my dinner untill 7:30 ish - if I ate at 5:30 - I would be really in trouble by 9.. I go to gym get home around 5:45 - get on the computer from 6 til 7:30 and then I go eat & watch tv. - have my popcorn around 9ish.. I suggest you just don't buy the crap - if it ain't there you can't eat it and i don't think you are going out in the middle of the night and go and get M&M - in fact you didn't just buy a snack size you bought a BIG bag if you ate 2 cups... If you just have to have some then just buy a little bag and sit and really enjoy the little bag - an only buy one at a time - not a whole bunch so that once you start you keep on eating until they are all gone, I know all the little tricks - JUST SAY NO TO DRUG aka food!!!! So right this second - no more junk !!! You are back on the wagon :tt2: Phyl - Those heels are pretty comfortable for heals - but they are about 2 1/2 maybe 3 inches - You will shop in a regular store - I will hold your hand.

Car - If your 12's are loose then you can get 10's - I was an 18/20 in pants prior to surgery. There is no why that size 12 or 10 are considered large imho - I am very happy with 12's & 10's - can't wait til I am a solid 10 - hopefully that will be in with 17 more pounds gone - 4 inch heals :tt2: I have some 2 or 3 inch pointy heals and they are high enought - Like Oraph say's those are 1 hr shoes :cursing: - but i gotta say my feet aren't killing me after being in heels all day at work like they use to - but here in the Desert during the summer it's mostly sandles - I got some kitten heels yesterday for the summer. I hate to brag - but it's BEAUTIFUL here right now- Mid 80's during the day and 50's at night - it's the reason the Phyl comes to the Desert for the weather We are sending our sunshine to all our band sisters & daughters to brighten up your days - to warm your bodies & souls Right now I have a massive headache from these progressive lens's - I think I am going to have to get them changed...

Pizzaman I have restriction - think I am at my sweetspot and I can eat mostly anything I want as long as I chew and eat slowly - I really haven't tried eating a sandwich - but mostly I think I would get too full too fast on the bread and wouldn't get my Protein 1st requirement. Everyone is diff with their bands - I can eat chicken you can't - So don't take what you read on these boards as gospel - Everyone is diff.. Like you said - take it slow and becareful - PBing and slime aren't fun (usually happends to me if i eat too fast - or take one bite too many) -

Susy - It doesn't really matter if you are in th 200+ or 100+ gotta lose section we all have issues with food. The first 2 weeks that you are to be on full liquids is for the stiches around your tummy & the band to heal - You should not have eaten the beans - you should have ordered Soup - and crackers didn't help - but you all ready know this so I won't beat a dead horse. Your band is only a tool - this is a lifetime lifestyle change - and it is going to take work on your part to over come your issues with food. You really need to follow your doctors eating plan if you want to be sucessful at this. You can do this - it will be harder some days than others - but you can do it - just plan plan plan and be prepared for the bumps in the road - and if you fall down - just get right back up and start doing the work again... Good Luck to you.. -

Good Morning Gang Well just got an email from Alex - I guess they don't need me after all - I he said that they tremendous response to their solicitation and they have enough for now - It could be that I told him I can't spell worth crap -drop word but am not super computer savvy but know enough to be dangerous :eek:would love to help anyway - Well, It's for the best - cuz it would interfere with my posting here - 50 thread - I stay busy enough as it stands now - But was still pretty jazzed that from my postings that thought I was up for the job.. Linda – Thanks for the complements – the 10’s are capri’s and I need some tan on my legs – going to have to get out my self tanners – I lose weight like I tan – from the head down – my calf are still big to me – I don’t think I measured them in the beginning – I should have. Your youngest turning 21 – I remember that day – how much fun for you to be able to share it with him/her?? Mom’s and food issues – we all understand that one Katrina - 70 mph winds that is a hurricane - That is very scary.. I don't care for wind too much myself - we use to get some really bad ones back in the day - I can't say that they have been so bad lately that I have been scared - but I do remember when they were and trees were blowing over I was very scared. Karri - I am so very proud of you - you have come such a long way mentally and physically in the last 6 months... Well not much to report on - I am a bit tired this a.m. - Didn't get to bed until late (10:30 or 11) and 5 came too early this morning = Think I will go get another cup of coffee. Kari Can I PLEASE COME AND KICK YOUR FAMILIES A$$ PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE:cursing::cursing::eek::cursing::thumbup::cursing: I am so mad right now:mad: - How come just cuz we are older that people want to forget about our day - do we forget theirs - Hell No,,, Now this is what I would do - on you DH's bday - don't cook - don't go out to dinner - don't do anything - when it's your son's bday - say oh happy b-day but I am going somewhere - On your DD bday - say Happy Bday - you willl have to wait for your present - On your other Daughters or GS bday - go where they live and celebrate with them since they are the only ones who did show you some love on your special day... One Mother's Day my Son didn't even call - so guess what - on his birthday I didn't call him - didn't get him a card or present - told him afterwards "well I guess if I'm not a Mom - I don't have a son to celebrate a birthday with" - It killed me not to call him on his birthday - I cryed - but I refused to acknowledge him if he couldn't acknowledge me (i was a single mom and he and I are very close so my feelings were really hurt)- and guess what - he hasn't forgotten to call me on Mothers day or my bday since - and if he does the same thing will be done again - I can be very mean i.. or should I just say I can practice tough love when needed (most of the time - depends on the sitituation) this yr he showed up late with a nice card and a flashlite as my gift - I didn't care if it was a silly gift for your mom - it was the thought and he is good about picking out meaningfull card.. I am glad you went and got your big mac and sorry that it didn't go down too well - I totally feel for you - cyper hugs to you - I know they aren't as good as the real thing - but it's the best I can do from Indio - Kari, be proud of what you have accomplished in the last 7 months no one can take that away from you - Keep on peddling it will get better... This is it for our age and then you should go to the Feb 2008 thread and join there too and you can always post on our lucky #7 thread - we have a really great group there - we are all very supportive and we have others there who were banded in diff months (Peaches - Phyl - Kirajh & I are all 7/07 banders) I went shopping this weekend - size 12 & 10 pants - Xl & large tops - Skin OMG when did I get so old and OMG I WAS fat :eek: - but that's what they make clothes for - no one see me naked - so who cares - I feel 10 yrs younger - I have so much more energy.. I LOVE MY BAND - I LOVE ME FOR DOING THE WORK... Thanks Peaches - I FEEL GREAT !!!! Flashme - I see where others have responded that bypassers can have lapband - so I do hope it's an option for you - I have read great things about Mx Dr.s - And I totally get being afarid of death due to being obese. That is why I decided to get the band (never wanted bypass) Yes you will lose weight if you make up your mind that this is not a diet - this is a LIFETIME LIFESTYLE change in your eating habits - You know the drill - I know the drill - but this is the `1st time in my life that I finally got it... I can't ever eat like I use to - that is why I was fat - I ate lots of foods that were high fat, loaded with sugar. I now eat healthy 98% of the time - allow myself treats - exercise - and feel that I have been quite successful with my band (My doc say I am losing like a bypass Patient) But I am doing the work - I am almost 7 months out - I still keep a food diary - I count calories and protein grams and follow a WW eating type plan - I have to have some starch in my diet I can't do atkins and imho WW is a well balanced eating plan to follow - I am the straight talker of the group (tough band love - with the operative word being love) I'm not going to coddle and pat you on your back and say it's going to be ok and that the band is your cure to your issues with food - cuz it's not - you gotta come to the understanding that only you can make this work - The band is only a tool - but if you choose to do the work - it will work for you. Good Luck on your journey - we are here for you Bonnie -Remember we are in the 50+ group so I forget how long you have to do the clear liquids - I am lucky that my doc had me on full liquids for 10 days and it included creamed soups - but I am serious you can do this - It take work but it is doeable work - Please refresh my aging memory. Kari - OK I will try a piece - I love fudge with walnuts..:thumbup: Bonnie the beauty of the band is that we still can eat - it just that we have (or are) learning that you can't pig out every day and lose weight or maintain it but - if you are on vacation and want a piece of fudge you can have it - you gotta learn that if you have that fudge then you better increase your exercise and watch what you eat at your next meal.. We gotta learn these normal behaviors - and our band is that little tool to help us with this... Serenity - Weight loss is diff for everyone - some of us can't exercise as much as others due to bad knees backs etc - you know stuff that happens to us over 50 people. It depends on your motabolism (sp) a lot of factors. Some have lost faster than others - but this is not a race - we don't compare the number of pounds that each of us have lost - we are all happy that each of us has lost 1 to 3 lbs that week and if they haven't lost we examine why. Some of us have gotten good restriction on our 1st fill others have had numberous fills and still don't have restriction. You can read our tickers and see the amount of weight we have lost Your weight loss and how fast it will be will depend on the work you do - the band is only a tool to control your portions the rest is up to you to eat healthy and exercise Good Luck on your journey.. -
Kari - Yes they were blue Yep - I guess I am just an old fashion kinda girl I hook my bra in the front and turn it around - I guess that's what my Mom taught me - How was your birthday today - did you enjoy yourself. Did your DH do anything special?? Phyl - I got 2 nude & 1 black bra - and OMG Khols was having a great sale - buy one get one free - I got a couple size 10 pants - 2 12's and couple tops (1 was just a large & not and xl) and a skirt and 2 kitten heel pair of shoes (black & white. I did get a pair of RED jeans that I will wear on 2/14 - they aren’t hipsters but a little lower - I think I might just need a belt - I HAVE NEVER NEEDED A BELT Brandy - CONGRATULATIONS 150 LBS - That's just Fantastic I don't know what size undies I wear now - I was wearing 18/20 from Lane Bryant - they are still wearable.. I thought about looking at panties when I was out today - but forgot after trying on 10 bras... I think its this months Self Magazine - talks about your happy weight -(135) like your doc says - it's maintainable weight. Karri LOVE YOU 6 MONTH PICTURES You look so much younger.. Half of what you use to be - Good Job you are doing GREAT I love your top ten list - and #11 - too funny Giving up the scales - good for you - I know you were weighing at least once a day - which imho is too much but whatever works for the person I just found it to depressing - I don't know if I could do once a month - my once a week is good for me.. Ya - if you are gone 1 day - it takes forever to catch up I got on this morning just to say Hi and was here for 1 hrs ... Ok this is for our Cold Weather Ladies - I think you all need some of those lamps that are like sunlight and exposure yourselves to them for 1/2 hr or what everyday.. OK gang -- guess what - I got an email from Alex - he is the guy who owns LBT - he has asked me to be a moderator... Can you believe that - I told him I can't spell - I drop words and my grammar isn't the greatest - I took it as a great honor - I also got an email from Allergen (maker of our bands) and they asked me to be on a panel - I don't know if this was spam or not (they want my address - but am going to call them 1st to see if this chick is for real - I have traded voice mails with her and the # is a direct line - so I am just a little concerned this could be identity thief or something and I am not suppose to mention it cuz they didn't want to hurt other peoples feelings (hope I haven't hurt anyone’s here - don't think I would but it's been killing me not to say anything) This is something you share with friends and you guys are my friends and think you would be happy for me.. Thank God I had typed this in word - cuz I just lost it somehow :eek: I hit a key an poof it was gone - I said SHOOT ya you know what I really said:tt2:,.... Just glad I still had it.. Good Morning Gang The site is slow this morning – it’s taking for ever – I type 3 letters and it takes 3 seconds for them to appear. Had a lot of reading to do this morning - So lets see if I can remember who said what cuz I am typing this in word and will paste on to our thread – (so my spelling should be better – but I bet I still leave words out ) Phyl- On the bra issue – I have NEVER (even at 120) been able to hook my bra from the back – to this day – I hook them in the front and then turn to put them on… Steph – On the fluffy issue – sometimes I’m gassy and other times not – but exercise is great for the potty issues – that and water I understand about exercise and 2 miles is GREAT. I went to private school as a child and we didn’t have PE in 8th grade was the 1st time I had it cuz I was in public school then (got myself kicked out of Catholic School) OMG we had these stupid monkey suits back then – these one piece bloomer like outfits – UGLY – I weighed 165 in 8th grade and was considered fat – and these outfits sure and the hell didn’t flatter my figure any.. All I can tell you is that once you start and keep doing it – it will become something you do enjoy – I promise and this is from the ultimate exercise hater. Karri – Your party must have been fun – we haven’t heard from you… Hope you aren’t working.. Linda – Since I personally have met Phyl – let me tell you – she is most likely the youngest and most energetic person I know – I think she has more get up and go than me – she really seems to enjoy life and LOVES to have fun.. She is really a great lady as we all are – and I am so happy that I have gotten to actual meet her.. I loved what you said about if you didn’t lose another pound - I love that as I sit here typing I can cross my legs too – I think that is one of the best feelings. Candice – aka Peaches – OMG we put our bras on the same way Ok – I think I have covered who has posted – but if I forgot anyone – heck I’m 53 . Went shopping yesterday – guess what – I am an official 12 – it wasn’t a fluke with the 2 pairs I bought last month – but now guess what – I can fit a size 10 pants – still XL on tops…… I was trying on a pair of white capri’s and the 12 fit very well – so much that I know that after I wear them they will loosen up – so I had my gf bring me a size 10 – they fit – a itty bitty tight but after they are worn they will be fine- I can tell you one thing I didn’t care what the price was I was buying them… – I haven’t worn a 10 since my early 20’s before the weight came back on (I was thin from 16 – 24) NSV – I was up at 5 to the gym 2 miles – picked up house - picked up girlfriend drove out of town – ate breakfast – shopped and tried on TONS of clothes – walked this huge mall and was tired of trying on clothes by the time we left (5 p.m) but I was not tired – My feet were not killing me and I still had energy… Ok – I got one bra yesterday & it was a 38 – but think I should be aiming for a 36 cuz I am hooking the 38’s on the 1st hook – so I am going to the mall today and look some more – trying on bra’s was the last thing we did yesterday and I was tried of looking at my naked body – I have some terribly saggy skin and even with a proper fitting bra I still have rolls – it’s the skin being saggy not so much the fat… Well – I am just going to have to quit being so critical of myself – I am 53 not 35 – it is what it is and I am just going to have to get over it.. Well, gotta get dressed – Will ck in later

CeCe I was just thinking about you on Friday or was it Thursday... I have missed you,... You can't stop posting cuz you have had a back step- That's why we are here is to help each other - Heck last nite I have 5 bites of brownie batter - I woke up at 2 and had the uncontrollable urge for brownie batter - so I had a box of mix in the pantry and I poured a little in a bowl and added a touch of oil and water and then proceeded to eat it – granted it was a little amount – but I just had to have it – I said screw my new found eating habits. If you have that much stress and or think you are bipolar – go to the doctor – I was on Zoloft for about 2 yrs (heck at that time half my office was we called them our happy pills – and I lost like 17 lbs when I first started taking them) about 5 yrs back when I left my dh & got my grandson and was dealing with tons of stress at work – I called it my nervous breakdown – but due to being so stressed at work – they got another person to help with my accounts – now there are 2 people doing the job that I did alone I am a closet eater to so Hugs to you – but you don’t have to hide from us... Today is a new day and just commit for today to stay on plan – you can do it – I have faith in you – ((Hugs)) Come back to us ….

Kari - I am going to kick you butt :tt1:- how can you be unhappy with 8 lbs loss -:tt2: that's 2 pounds a week:thumbup: Come on you gotta give yourself a break - Like I told Jackie - I know that cuz of all the hard work we are doing - eating 1/16 of what we use to and exercising - we THINK we should be losing 20 friggin pounds a week - I understand - I was right there a few weeks back - but I then came to the realization that any loss was better than a gain. You are doing good - don't get frustrated please you have no reason too - you are losing weight -:thumbup: ya Sunday is your big day (Let me be the 1st to tell you Pre- Happy Bday)- and just think about were you were last year at this time - You have lost tons of weight - you are feeling better you are exercising - you are eating healthy YOU HAVE NO REASON TO BE DOWN - POSITIVE THINKING GIRL:thumbup: You are NOT old - you weigh less than last yr - just think where you will be next yr at this time Love & hugs - please don't be down ((hugs)) I want you to enjoy your B-day on Sunday - And as the food angel - I give you premission (not that you need it but you know what i meant ) on Sunday you eat something you love for dinner and enjoy it and have a little Chocolate - be it a candy bar or cupcake or ice cream We Love you Kari:wub: - Smile - It will come off and your work is showing - :biggrin2:

Hey Gang - What's Up... Not to busy tonite - you all must be doing something fun... Well, I didn't go to the gym BUT did pull out my tony little gazzel - and did 3 miles on that - worked a whole bunch of muscle that I don't get on the treadmill - like my arms and back... good for the back fat i hope:tongue: Well, I did get 3 bottles of water in so far (50.70 oz) so just gotta drink another 10 oz before bed... Well, I am starving - going to the kitchen and see what I can scrounge up - I think I'm having soup - Don't want fish (can you believe that) Well will ck back later..

Per my doc there were no rules about not drinking .... My doc encourages you to live a normal life with the band - everything in moderation. I drink when I got out maybe every couple of months - I have had some pretty good buzzes - but I never throw up if I over indulge. If you you do - then I would say be careful not to over do it - but go have fun - normal people do it all the time. :glare: Have fun in Cabo - and have a shot for me :eek: -

MomX Sorry that you are so alone in a forigen country - and in the ME - aren't you scared - all we see here is the crazy bombings... I would love to visit that area of the world - but doubt I would ever get there due to the violence that we see on t.v. Can't you order stuff off the internet??? Banders rules 60 grms of Protein daily (1 oz = 7 grms) 64 oz Water - protein 1st - then veggies - and starches last if you have room. You are to eat low fat - surgar fee - I don't know what the typical diet would be in Jordan - but bet it includes meats/fish - veggies and starches - Breakfast - 1 cup oatmeal / egg / yogurt & fruit lunch - salad - lite dressing - meat - veggies - fish dinner - same as lunch execpt if you can add a little starch - rice Pasta or potatoes - what ever your band will allow. Have you had a fill?? do you have any one who can go with you and translate... Well I gotta get back to work - good luck - stay safe:wink2: -
Karri - Ya broc coming back up - was awful - I must be a little swollen cuz for lunch all I could eat was my fish today - yesteday at fish & veggies (spinach - which is a slider food - Learned that termonigly at that meeting - foods that slide right through the band) - I don't think a day or 2 of not enough protein is going to make you lose your hair - alot of people say its the meds that they use to put us to sleep and the trama of surgery that causes it - but my gf went on medifast and lost tons of hair. I agree with you about being too tight - even now I think I should have passed on a fill period - cuz I really don't think I am getting all my calories in - i think yesterday it was about 760 - but cuz of my fish for lunch & dinner I did get 70 grms of protein and 3 bottles of water plus my coffee about 60 oz of water.. Jackie - OMG $147 on candles - I have done it too - we had a wife of one of our agents selling candles - they can get expensive - but they weren't suppose to burn black smoke and they do - so I quit buying them - I like Village candles - blackberry pie or something like that - I like STRONG smells I hate it when I buy a candle and you can't even smell it burning.. On the TMI subject - I don't get cramps or anything - I eat veggies 99.9% of the time for lunch and dinner - fish & veggies - they are the staple of my diet really wanted to go out for lunch today and splurge - but didn't so tommorrow when I go to Montclair shopping I will have a treat - I better eat those ice chips so the swelling goes down so I can eat... Until you feel better I would rest - rest & chicken soup and you will feel good by Monday... Well, back to work - talk to you all later xoxox J

They ache not cramp and I got some potassium pills but just like my vitiams I never take them:tongue2: - I eat spinach - yogurt & bananas (about once a week -but I hate mushie bananas I like them on the green side) I put them in my yogurt for breakfast. I really think it is partly water as some days only get in half - and I know that too much potassium isn't good for you either so I am sorta afraid to take the pills too often.. Well I am STARVING - it's lunch - gonna go eat my salmon and broc - Here is something interesting - you know how mostly everyone it tight in the AM and loose at night - I think I am the other way around... But that's good for me since I am such a night eater - Now if i could just control my brain to quit wanting food when I am full on not my whole dinner but about 3/4 of it It's just that 3 or 4 oz of fish 1/4 rice and 1/2 c veggie - is just not enough food - see guys i am all screwed up - eating is mental not physical..:glare:
