From what I remember and you understand we are in the over 50 crowd we have a few in AZ - Canada - Cali - Iowa - I don't remember PA - We will see who replies -
Nichole - I know how happy you are to get 16 and feel better when you get dressed in the morning - you gotta get some smaller clothes - cuz you feel so sloppy in the baggy stuff - now we want to strut our stuff and feel good when we get dress - Sking - oh how fun !!! Loved your poems & Jokes.. btw - Mango is getting reduction and Ruby had bigger ones installed and one got infection (or something) so she has to get it repaired - I know it gets confussing - half the time I can't remember who's does what for a living - Mango - Steph - Karri and someelse are teachers ?? Linda??- 2 Nurses katrina & phyl (retired)- I don't remember what you or jackie do - ruby housewife - Kari housewife too.. Who lives where - TX for Ruby - I think we need a refresher course in where we live and what we do.. Peaches ??? dont remember but know that she works and is our Canadian girl..

Yes, I was beginning to have LBT withdrawl symptoms!! I came close to calling Janet on the phone!! I know her days are very busy and I didn't want to interrupt her routine Phyl I was going to call you too - but not sure your # still on my phone - plus I know you have a cell - and didn't want to run up your minutes - you know how us girls are when we get on the phone - call anytime you want - I am not that routine - and I ALWAYS have time for my friends... I tivo most of my programs anyway - so I'm not missing anything - anyway My GF Billie and I use to talk on the phone and watch t.v. - yep that's right she would be at her house and I would be at mine and we would both be watching the olymipics on the t,v. and talking about it.. - her mom would call and she would tell her Janet and I are on the phone watching t.v. - we cracked her mom up.. So feel free to call anytime I really mean that ....

Ruby - Congrats on 180 :smile2: But I totally agree with you on being healthy and this is what I am talking about - we can get unhealthy with our bands being too tight and I think it's dangerous too - slips - errision etc - ya we like losing 18 lbs in 3 weeks - that great and good - but IMHO I think we can become anniroxa (sp) with it too - we can abuse it to a degree that we do become unhealthy - not really eating enought or being able to drink - I was only tight for that one week - but that was enough for me - I could barely drink a cup of coffee in the morning - and could barely eat - I don't want to live my life that way - I don't need to lose the weight that fast. I am glad your dh is going with you and I am glad you know that you are not being healthy being so tight.. I will have to try that tea... Glad that you will get your booby fixed once you have you fixed

TMI - WARNING - ANSWER Karri I have hemorroids from giving birth - they are on the outside (some can be on the inside) go get some supposetories, & ducolax - keep all these things on hand - you need to add some more oil in your diet and Water for your stools to be soft - your are consitpated to the max -this happens to me when I travel - Try the suppositories 1st - then if they don't work you might want to get an ennama (sp) or take 2 dulox - you will get the runs but heck that's better than being constipated... - if the warm bath helped the pain - I would bet you have strained yourself - hot wash cothes in that area helps too..

Good Morning Ladies - TGIF :thumbup: Jackie - You haven't been feeling great and now that you are getting back to the gym it will work wonders for you... My goal is to be at goal prior to my 1 yr anniversary - I know I will be there... (this is postitive thinking not bragging) - I still worry that this is a lifetime change - I think I go it but I know this most likely will be a life time struggle not to revert to old eating habits. Karri - Stopping eating when satisfied - I would bet a million buck this is a problem for all of us - Last night GS wanted Pizza (he hadn't had any in a long time) so I said ok - I had 1/3 cup beans & cheese around 7 - then pizza came a little after 8 - I had one slice and ate the whole thing (well not the crust) when I should have stopped at 3/4 - Had a bit of slime and a little pain - but went away in about 10 minutes.. It just tasted so darn good - haven't had pizza in months. I did good calorie wise 1010 - but like most of us didn't get my water in.. I could eat salad for B/F - I am not a big sweet eater for breakfast - in fact for B/f this morning I have 1/2 ham sandwich on lite bread with mustard - Lunch one pot wonder - cabbage/pork/squash/eggplant/rice & soy sause - 1 cup and dinner will be fish & veggies.. How nice of you to give your student $$$ for food - she hadn't eaten since the day before - doesn't your school have free lunches &/or breakfast - The schools here in the Desert have breakfast (for the younger ones) and lunches for everyone who qualifiy for them. The Desert is very Rich in some areas and very poor in others. Ruby - You go to the Doc on Monday are you considering a slight unfill - I know you have been tight - Well, just cking in this morning - I went to bed at 9 last night - I am meeting a gf for breakfast tomorrow - she hasn't seen me since before surgery - so she will be in for a shock - (she knows about the surgery). Then suppose to go to the Fair and see Heart tomorrow night - the fair in known for what you can eat - I love the cinnaminon buns - but none for me this year. Oh ya great NSV - yesterday had a continuing ed class (insurance agents have to have continuing ed to keep their license) - the intructors brought Mrs. Field cookies :tt2: the girl next to me ate 3 :smile: and I didn't eat one - just drank my water - and OMG I wanted one - it was 3 and I was hungry - but just didn't eat it - another gf here who is on a DIET... ate one and wonders why she isn't losing weight:confused: - They all think I didn't eat it cuz of the band - they think it takes away the wanting - they don't understand it doesn't take away the wanting - I CHOSE not to eat it - not cuz I couldn't but because I want to lose weight,... - Like i keep repeating losing weight is more of a head game than a tummy game even with our bands,..... Well, back to work - ck w/you all later - hope everyone has a good day LINDA CALL AND BUG YOUR DOCTOR... and keep up posted ((hugs))

Steph - IMHO I think we will have to keep our guard up for the rest of our lives - For the rest of my life I will weigh in on thrusdays - and if I have gained 1, 2 or 5 lbs - I will address it immediately - I won't say oh it's only 1 lbs - then the next week gain another 1 and ignore it too I have lost weight before - and have slowly put it all back on - I have never lost this much but again I was never this fat before - Since I am not an atkins girl - the fact that I just ate carbs would not bother me as long as my calories didn't exceed my allotment.. Glad to hear you are feelling better. Linda - you guys are stuck with me for the rest of your lives - or as long as you come here - and hell - if you don't I will send private messages or emails to you asking where you are at. I think anyone who has ever been on the board has read something WASA has written - I think she is pretty sharp girl.. I hope you are taking pecid for your heartburn - I get it just a little tiny bit even from just drinking water - I need to ask the doc about it... but you will see yours before I see mine so ask about it too. I am glad the reflux at night has stopped - and call that darn dr - this is important to you even if it's not for him... Bug Him tomorrow -------------------------------------------------------------------------- My problem is that I needed the accountability of the gym, because once I go home, that is it. I am done for the day. Okay, my fill has completely loosened from the last time I was there. I could eat a horse I am convinced. At least I made good food choices today, but am still eating WAY too much. I was starving and so I went to the store and got some fruit. It always makes me nervous when my eating habits change so drastically. I am certain that everything is fine, but still I wish we had a little window that we could peak through to make sure that our bands are still there and working! Karri - I need to go to the gym too - I brought out my tony little glider - and did it a couple of fridays ago - thinking - I will do this on the nights I don't go to the gym - well - did it that one night - and there it sits I think myGD wants it - so will have my Son come and get it.. I think all doc's should test us like every 6 months to make sure our bands are in place. My doc does blind fills - so know way of knowing what's going on in there - Linda - how did your doc know you had a slip - does it show up under fluro.. Peaches - Were are you.... We haven't heard from you since last week - Hope every thing is ok w/your Mom. (hugs)

I am a WW girl - I don't go to meetings - but I use what I have learned from all my prior years being a WW member - I think that they have the most well rounded healthy eating plan - like they say - Diets don't work - eating healthy does. I don't count points - back when I 1st joined it was exchanges and that's basicly how i eat - protien - veggies - starches - dairy even desserts now and again :tongue2:

So glad we have you to walk this journey with. ] Jackie - IMHO this is very doable - and I am shocked how doable it is - it's all about our brains - we are in the zone - yep we all slip from the zone every now and then - but what is different now - is that when we slip or have a treat - we go back to our new healthy eating habits - were before we would have just said WTF i screwed up - i give up - Now a days we don't give up..

Linda - I foung this post by wassabubblebutt about band slippage - she is a nurse and seems to be very knownledgeable about the band More than 80% of the time an unfill and liquids for a couple of weeks will fix a slip so the odds really are in your favor. If that does not work then you can have a repair most of the time, they just go in, unlock the band, reposition it, and relock it. If they do take your band you can have it replaced or switch to another procedure usually in about three months. It takes time for swelling and such to go down. So really, odds are in your favor by quite a bit that you won't lose your band. Good luck to you!

Good Morning Gang !!! Karri - I am glad you got your rest... It's very important - for me being tired is a big food trigger for me.... Well ladies - I walked 18.5 miles this past week - and it is proof that exercise works - I have been a bad girl all week getting on the scales EVERYDAY - at varying times - it was a steady 177 all week (well one day it did say 176) - last night it said 176.5 - well this morning 175 :smile: - go figure - this is why I hate scales - but love them today.. 15 lbs to go... Pretty good for an old broad I think - Yes I am tooting my own horn :tongue2: - But I am VERY happy this morning and have been working really hard on the exercise this week and I am a big baby.. Have you all figured that one out yet... and I know that all of you share my happiness... I truly can't believe this whole journey... It has been incredible... I have made new friendships - I look forward to talking to you all every day... I am exercising – trying my best to change my eating – I feel really good about myself. I love all of you – I’m loving life – and above all else I thank God for these gifts I have received in the last 7 months…

Bonnie you are 2 weeks out - you can not compare my weight lost to your gf. What are you eating - You may not be getting enough calories - do you keep a food diary or log your calories in anywhere (fitday.com) - I am a FIRM beleiver in it - I am 7 months out and still keep a food diary (it is a proven statistic that people who keep food diaries lose more weight)- I count calories and pt grams - i read labels - I know what i am putting in my mouth every day - I have lost weight ever week except last week - i think i have hit a platuea (sp). I forgot what your ticker said - so I don't remember your bmi - but those of us who have more to lose - ususally do it a little faster than those who don't have as much to lose - I eat 1000- 1200 calories a day (well i did before my last fill now more like 800 and I think this is another reason I didn't lose last week- not getting enought calories) You may not be getting enough calories.. This is not a race - and everyone loses weight differently - heck we have one lady in our group who has lost 92 since July and she doesn't exercise Just keep plugging along - one day at a time - eat healthy - exercise (btw when I 1st exercised i only did 30 min a day - I have just now worked up to 3.5 miles in 1 hr) I am not a typical bander (per my doc) so please don't put me on a pedestal - I am a fat chick too - as long as you do your job - your band will do its once you get proper restriction - but in the meantime and even when you do have proper restriction - 75% of the work will be up to you by making low fat - sf - healhty food choices and exercising - (what kind of exercising are you doing - what intensity) -

Today at work I voimted the chicken broth I had for lunch and whatever food I did eat yesterday! (gross, I know) After that I called and made an appointment with the doctor for tomorrow. I give up. I've been having problems ever since my fill on Jan 11. Even after having half of that taken out, something is still not right. I'd work with it, but not at the expense of not sleeping.

I am keeping you in my prayers Brandy - You live in TX and moving to FL - I forget are you and dh retired or have family there.. I guess since I have never left the Coachella Valley that sounds like a big move.. Mango - I wouldn't but a hex on you - try some raisin bran - had some the other night - works wonders - plus i do keep dulox on hand too - as to Linda's symothoms - acid reflux waking her up all night long was the major one and not being able to keep food down to i think all the things that happen when you are too tight - having acid reflux is not a good thing nor is heart burn - Linda - tell Mango what was going on with you - I am brain dead right now...

Jackie Congrats on MEDIUM workout clothes - I need some of those crop pants to cuz it will be hot in pretty soon - right now I have 2 pairs of yoga pants that I wear to the gym.. The lady who does my facial is a RN - in fact she might be a NP - anyway she is doing facials and selling vitimans - dexto stuff - Have you heard of this machine that you put your feel in and the water turns colors cuz it's detoxing your body (imho i think it's a scam - but know ppl who have bought them) also has a laptop that scans your palm and tells you what antioxidants you are lacking - again a scam imho - but she said she had vit b shots so for $15 i go one - suppose to give you more energy - tomorrow is my weigh in day so we will see - but as posted above - i don't have anymore energy.. So who knows - it was worth a try -

Hey Gang !!! Where is everyone??? Well I went to the gym - and it took all I had to do my 3.5 miles - it's funny some days i have my groove on and feel strong and jam to my itunes - then days like today - I just can't get my rhythm but i pushed thru and did all 3.5 miles - I thought to myself - Karri is running and is at the gym for like 2 hrs -so Janet you can walk 3.5 miles in 1 hr and quit bitching about it – just do it.. I don’t feel like cooking – didn’t take anything out this morning – so sitting here trying to eat ½ chick sandwich with avocado – but have eaten about 3 bites (tiny ones) of it and think I am done with it – it tastes good – but not going down – guess I will have eggbeaters in a bit – or maybe some soup… Well, just cking in…. Willl ck back later

Karri I eat popcorn most evenings - I buy the snack size 100 c micro bags and once I went and made another bag - I figure 200 calories on popcorn - is better than cake, cooke - even sf pudding or another meal that would have more than 100 caloriesf - the popcorn fills you up and we do need to have that crunch factor too sometimes. Well, I have been a lurker today - and i was just cleaning up my desk - I gotta go home and hit the gym tonite - I had a facial at lunch and i could just go to sleep - i even had her give me a vit shot - but don't feel jazzed - i remember once my old family doc gave me a b-12 shot - omg i was awake all night - I don't want that - but I could use some pep about right now - well after the gym i will have some - so will ck back w/you all later.

I ate sole or catfish (baked)- these are very mosit fish and mush up very well

Jackie Fitday.com - sparkspeople.com - CalorieKing.com - Read lables - they tell you how much protien - 1 oz meat = 7 grms of protein - I guess I am really lucky my Doc has a nutritionist in his office - gave me a calorie book and diary... I am 7 months out and I keep a food diary still - I count calories and protein grams.
