Ok I just ordered this thought I would try it - I read about it in Good Housekeeping last night - Fiber Gourmet Light Pasta - 130 c vs 210 - per good housekeeping - doesn't taste exactly like pasta - but really close and is suppose to be good - I ordered the sampler - 23 bucks incl shipping and I think I get 4 or 5 diff kinds - I will let you know how it is.. Heck it's worth a try - 20 grms fiber - 7 grms protein - 130 calories .... FiberGourmet: The world's only guilt-free pasta - low calorie, high fiber.

Denise - Since I live here I think why would anyone want to come here - it's just the stupid desert :blushing: but it is really pretty at times and the weather is great except in the summer - we have mountains - we are about 2 hrs from the beach - so it is a good place. I guess I just take it for granted:cool2: Congrats on the losing your pants  - that good !!! That's a great NSV... Now as for the the Baby Shower - Me personnaly I would have 1/2 to 1 piece of cake - That would be just too much for me not to eat it - well that being said - I did say no to all the xmas sweets at the office during christmas - - now I wouldn't bring it home or if the shower is at your house I would make them take it - cuz I would make a pig out of my if i was left alone with it - it would win -or - go in the trash... When is the baby due?? -
Good Morning Gang... It's Thursday - Only 1 more day of work - This Sunday is my baby GD b-day - she will be 4 - going to Chuckie Cheesee (big whoop - I hate their pizza and I get to spend the afternoon with the Other GM - She is ok - but she is a big talker - i mean non-stop - I am so glad that my DIL isn't like that) OK just wondering here with all the talk about breast reduction (well except for our girl Ruby ) I was just thinking out loud here - maybe I could call my breast lift a reduction - heck they are d's but totally deflated d's:biggrin: they hang so bad that the nipple should be in the middle not the bottom:biggrin: - couldn't we call that a reduction - heck they would have to cut half the boob off - I would be happy with a full c.. Might have to ck that out.. I can complain about pain - that's easy enought... Katrina - Hope you are feeling better soon !!!! Jackie - Proud of you girl for going to the gym :blushing: Glad to hear you have such a good relationship with your PA. OK not much to report on - so just wanted to say Good Morning - Will ck back later...

Hey 50 & over gang We have a new spot
IndioGirl55 replied to IndioGirl55's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
You can - our weather is better than Seattle's - February is usually a good month in the Desert - and I bet you Northern people would love a little sun. I have one guess room with a double bed and there is always the couch.. and you can still take your shoes off - except if they are sandals (thongs) - then you gotta but them up cuz my little babies will chew them up :smile2:.. I can't tell you how many times I have YELLED at them - so now I have to make sure they are in the closet and the door is closed... -
Denise - I don't think of myself as an excercise fiend - I don't hate it as much but I do fight myself almost everyday to get to the gym - right now our weather is so nice and it's staying lighter longer and I would rather being doing something else after work - but Excercise is KEY for me in losing the weight. This is one area that I really want to push on everyone - it's that saying if I can do it so can everyone else - cuz I am not and never have been an athelctict (sp) person - I have always been a girly girl - I was the disco girl while my sister was the camping girl - I have always been the high heels & make up girl - so if I can get out there and do nothing else but walk - so can everyone - You deserve that 30 minutes or 40 minutes or even 60 minutes to yourself. You really do - the dinner - the house work - the family can wait - You are important and sometimes it is all about you... I can tell you one thing I have noticed over the last 7 months - I still sweat like a pig too - but you know what I don't break the sweat as fast and my t-shirt isn't soaking like it was (my head is dripping still though) - but again it's not summer yet - well that's what I tell myself - but I do think it's about the weight that is gone too - I guess I don't take credit for my work - So Denise - I want a promise from you to exercise 30 minute a day - even if you have to break it up into 10 minute segements. You can do it to girl :tt1:
-
Good Morning Gang.. Linda OMW you are 4 lbs short of lossing 100 lbs You are doing freakin great:Dancing_biggrin:and you do have to expect our weight lost to slow as we get closer and have already lost so much. IMHO we will struggle forever - not as had as we have in the past - but our fat brain is always going to be with us - I think we will have to stand guard over it for the rest of our lives - I think it will get easier - but for me personally I am still afraid that I will slowy slip back into old behaivors - That being said - I have never had this kind of support system either So I am putting this out there PACT FOR LUCKY #7's WE WILL CONTINUE OUR DAILY POST HERE EVEN WHEN WE REACH OUR GOAL AND WE WILL CONTINUE TO SUPPORT EACH OTHER ABOUT OUR WEIGHT & PERSONAL ISSUES Steph - Glad to hear that you had a great day  As for the X - I think that there are many of us who had that kind of comment made to us at one time or another. Screw them and the horse they rode in on. I had an xbf tell me something about being fat - and i was like 140 - .. I do have a question though for you teachers - school has changed alot since I was a kid and since my Son was in school - Now adays (with my GS) it seems that schools are spend so much time on preparing kids for the testing - I understand that the schools get $$$ based on their test scores - but I think it's about understanding the subject and not just how to pass a test. My GS went to a baculaurette school and they just seemed to worry about test scores and not a well rounded education. I know on other threads - ppl are always apoligizing for long post - well what the heck it takes more than 3 sentences to explain stuff - I have never gotten that part of the board - If I have something to say - I am going to say it if it takes up 3 pages. Karri - As you know your Mom is not one to mince words and with you I am not worried that you will be hurt - cuz you know that I understand where you are coming from - it's all about control - just like before the band - we controlled the food we put in our mouth (we were in control about it - we planed it - we hid it - we decided we deserved it) - now we are controlling what we don't put in our mouths (well for the most part anyway :smile2:). I feel that with the help and insight that each of us have and will post in the future we will relax and have the support we need to win this battle - well that's my hope anyway.. Ok I started this at 7:30 it's now 8:47 - have had a millon interuptions - i don't know why they expect me to work at work:eek: - so gotta go. TTYL

stretching of upper pouch
IndioGirl55 replied to Ginaki's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Darling I am not a doctor so really can't answer your question - and the only way your doc can tell if you streached your pouch is with fluro (xray) Heck I eat 1 - 2 cups of food and my doc knows this and he never said anything about streaching my pouch - this morning I had made myself 1/2 of a Peanut Butter sandwich for Breakfast - i ate about 1/2 of it - I was full - I don't think that amount of food is streaching my pouch... What is your typical daily food -how many calories are you eating a day and what kind of exercise are your doing and for how long. -
Beth CONGRATULATION 10 YRS - HAWAII The last one I had and wore twice was from Lane Bryant - You are just going to have to go to the mall and try them on I thnik. When do you go?? I am so happy for you.. Have an umbrella drink for me... Karri - My original goal was 170 - so I am only 5 lbs from that - but then you joined us and I was looking at your goal weight and we started out the same and have been losing close to the same - so I thought I should shoot for 160 cuz it gives me a better BMI - still not 25 but close enought for a women my age. Plus there was a big fight on one of the threads about why us fat people only chose to lose like half of our excess weight and why not lose all of it - it was battle royal - people calling one girl - I think it was Chickie too skinny - she even took her picture off her signature. And the arguments they gave there made sense - why aren't we striving for our health to get all our weight off - but as I told them at my age and if I was 145 - I think I would look sickly - but again that is the max I should weigh for my height and truly I'm under 5'4 - more like 5'3 1/2. But this is me and I will only do what makes me happy and not what someone else thinks is right for me - I think 160 is a good number I am going with for my happy weight - which is a weight that is attainable and maintainable without beating yourself up - Karri do you get Self Magazine - there was an artical in it last month - p.m. me your address and I will send it to you.. I get tons of complements - I feel so much better and I am giving myself 3 months to lose the 15 lbs - that's 5 lbs each month and I think that is doable and turly if I get to 90 lbs gone by 7/17/08 - I will be very happy.. What are the wrong reasons - Heck 100 lbs gone is a very big accomplishment and you need to say yes I set the goal and I accomplished it I am proud of me. You are such a beautiful, giving, smart young lady and you have accomplished all this on your own. I think you are well balance and level headed for a girl who has gone through your uphill battle to become a wonderful adult. You have to give yourself a break - you need to lighten up a bit - it's good to be serious and goal orientated - but not obessive.. Weepy - is it that time of the month?? I use to get very angry when I was younger at that time - then last few years I got weepy and lovey dovey - I would tell my dh I love you and he would say - you are getting ready to start - and I would ck the calendar and he was right:lol: Just want you to know that you are loved and appreciated for the wonderful young lady that you are...:biggrin2: Ok - I went to the gym - I walked my 3 miles - went to the neighborhood store and they didn't have any fresh green beans  - got some sunless tanning spray - Weather here is great - 83 today - so if I want to wear my new capri's I need a little color on my legs :glare: cuz I look like casper :tt2: Well, last night dinner was enought for 2 nites - so all i have to do is throw it in the microwave - which I am about to do - it's almost 7:30. I will ck back later -
-
Jackie - It's one of the reasons - I really don't drink too much anymore - it's the way I feel afterwards - just not worth it and heck with the band I just can't eat like I use to - and I hate that.. OK - the battle starts - I don't want to go exercise. I would rather go to Costco and get some fish & veggies - Yes I know you all are saying well why can't you just do both - #1 I get off at 4 and get to the gym by 4:30 before everyone else does and I can get MY treadmill and I am one of those people who if I break my pattern I won't go - cuz it will be too late - too many people - etc excuses - cuz i really don't have anything else to with my time except talk to you all... #2 can't go after the gym cuz I am all sweaty etc I can't go there looking like I do after the gym - I will run in to our neighborhood market - but not go to costco. I am getting complacant - with my weight loss - I am still eating good but am not exercising since I did lose 2 lbs last week and I haven't been on the scale since - maybe I should get on it - cuz if it's not moving or going up that is incentive to go to the gym . Well gotta log off - I will fight with myself all the way home - but bet you 99% i will go to the gym - but it will be a fight

Karri Kids today have no common sense... Hugs to you... Here is a real virus warning we got from our IT person today - Please DO NOT open any e-cards sent to your email address here, even if it seems like it was sent by someone you know. If you receive one that you think is legit, do not open it but instruct the sender to send it to your home email address (and still, open at your own risk, this is a REAL virus warning).

Hey 50 & over gang We have a new spot
IndioGirl55 replied to IndioGirl55's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Kathy - My friend Phyl is 60 something - she mia cuz her internet connection is down - but she was banded in July and is down over 60 lbs - she use to use her scooter all the time - now she is walking more - she needs a knee replacment but once she gets that - watch out she is a ball of energy I was 52 when banded and I had TONS of test - flunked the treadmill - had to go for a nuclear stress test - lungs - mamo - pap - colon - shrink - 14 vials of blood - xrays - did this all in 6 weeks... Met surgeon on 5/31 and had surgery on the 7/17 - would have had it on the 10th but hadn't finished all my test - heck 7/13 had colonoscopy.. I feel 10 yrs younger - the band is a great tool to help us with our portion control and for us over 50 we know that more than half our life is gone and we want to improve on the years left. -
Hate to say it but looks like they are fairweather friends - or maybe I am just very lucky - my friends are still my friends - even the ones that are still heavy - they are proud and happy for me that I have lost weight - but again we are older and that may have something to with it. If I were you I would hit the subject head on with them - Tell them how you are feeling - they can't do anymore than they have already done - maybe they think you are now judging them - just put it on the table and have a frank discussion with them Good Luck..

Hey 50 & over gang We have a new spot
IndioGirl55 replied to IndioGirl55's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Darling - we all are fat chicks together - we all have the same feeling about our fatness - maybe diff issues - but in the wash they come out the same. I too have a hard time asking for help - I am very independant - but we are here for you - you don't have to be afraid of us - we aren't going to belittle you or your feelings about your issues with food - no one knows or understands a fat person like another fat person can - skinny people just don't get us - most of us are night eaters - closet eaters etc - my strenghts come from helping others - cuz in my opinion it you are going to talk the talk you gotta walk the walk - and I have walked the walk - I know the feelings associated with being morbity obese Come share your good and bad times - and like Mary said - give it over to God or whomever your higher power is it does help - I thank him every day for my band and me ... Look forward to reading your future post - this is a great place - I got most of my info on the band from the over 50 ladies and support.. I am just paying it forward... -
Ruby - I don't think we are throwing it in anyones faces - I think Steph as the newest new comer said that too - I know that I am happy for anyone who loses 1/2 lbs - and sad if they gain - We share our joys & sorrows - I agree with "If I can do it so can you" On the exercise front - I always find my 1st day back after being off a day or 2 the hardest - I was feeling pretty strong last night - but at 3 miles - i said forget this and turned it off - Like I have said - I don't hate exercise like I use to - but I don't LOVE it either... Denise - I know you are a few yrs younger than me but I agree witht he whole body lift issue - at my age I really don't care - I would like it - but don't know if I want to spend the $$$ and there is always the PAIN factor Time will tell - lose that 20 and go from there - maybe he will give you a discount.. Ruby - I think I would do arms before body lift - body covered by clothes and here in the desert all the summer clothes are sleeveless - and I hear that the scar from an arm lift is pretty bad - but I dislike my arms very much - so it all depends on cost - I am about to go see a ps for my face - I have bags under my eyes and I look tired (also have hoods over my eyes) and now that my face isn't all plumped out - it looks so long... but again - I don't like pain - so who knows when I will get the courage to really do something - it took yrs for me to finally get banded and insurance covered it - as we all know p,s. usually isn't - so thats a big factor. Ok - back to work -

Hey 50 & over gang We have a new spot
IndioGirl55 replied to IndioGirl55's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Denise - Good for you that you aren't feeling like snacking - I know for me when I don't get up in the middle of the night and eat - it's a good day - those scales should be moving... Dianne - My port site hurt the longest - you are barely 1 month out - I wouldn't be too concern - you are still healing... Mary - Welcome to our group... I am not diabetic - but was on 2 blood pressure meds - not just on 1 - as to how i feel - I FEEL GREAT - I FEEL 10 YRS YOUNGER - I HAVE 110% MORE ENERGY THAN 7 months ago - I use to sleep my weekends away - heck I wonder why I was carrying around 75 lbs - that's alot of weight - we don't think 75 lbs of fat weighs that much but - but it does - I love my band and I love the way I feel - I love that I have done the work that is needed to get this weight off - I eat healthy 98% of the time - I excercise 4 days a week - I am loving life... Lilo I didn't have to do the supervised diet - but all I can tell you is that you are doing a great job and learning new behaviors which will help you once you are banded - the band doesn't do the work - you do - our issues with food are more mental than phyiscal - you will have a lot of knowledge & tools to help you when you are banded - that will help you continue to lose. You can do it - you have proven that so far - Ya it's hard - but as we all know life is hard and we can will this battle.. -
Good Morning Gang !!!! Steph - I feel sorry for all you teachers - OMW you guys have a lot of work with hardly any pay or acknownledgement from parents & kids.. Hugs to you all for being good teachers:thumbup: Karri - Hugs back to you - I would never wag my finger on food choices as long as you are in your calorie intake limit for the day - I wouldn't nesssaaryily agree to just eating a bag of M&M for your 1000 calories - cuz you need your nutrition but every now and them - eating that bag of does the trick - but for me I gotta have real food - I have a new bedtime snack - fiber cookies w/pb & little jam - 200 calories - so yesterday had 850 for the day - I think today I am going to have to up them a bit - I truely haven't been getting 1000- 1200 most days - more like 800 - 900 max.. On the exercise issue - We are a lot alike and pushing ourselves to do more and more - My Uncle told me (we are alike too) that is how we burn ourselves out and then will quit all togther. We just make it too hard - if we aren't going 110% - it's that all or nothing attidute - He told me to slow down - relax and enjoy what you are doing - concentrate on your form - listen to your music - We don't always have the energy to work out hard everyday - we work - we have lives - and sometime we are tired - so you did good with bartering with yourself - heck 1/2 hr is better than no exercise. Phyl - that sounds good - I am hungry this morning.. Marcy - Glad you stopped by we miss you - I bet you are tired of winter - Crab - you lucky girl..... Well, gotta get to work - I have had 3 people in here since I started this 1/2 hr ago... Will ck back later..
-
Ok I'm back - dinner in the oven - got 20 minutes... Karri - Sorry I didn't know the answer - Now I feel like a bad Mom :frown: I let you down - ask me how to cook fattening foods - and I can give you the answer - but i do know some good WW foods - spaghetti pie - is really good - maybe you could try it with the squash - ground turkey cooked in spaghetti sauce - egg & paremsens cheese mixed with the spagh squash put in at pie tin - add cottage cheese or ricotta on top then add your meat mixture a little mozzarella on top - yummy....4 servings. I have made it with real pasta and love it - I can give advice on sewing, crocheting (not knittin) I can embroider but not cross stitch - I am good at listening and trying to fix problems - I can give advice on babies - men and how they should treat you. Peaches did your Mom come home today?? How's your restriction - no more M&M or McDonalds Ruby - yes in the jean dept - OMW - too many diff types but stay away from Mommy jeans (tapered) go with boot cut if they aren't too tight at the knees or trouser (my fav) &/or flares - I can't do low cut too much muffin top - I go for waist fitted jeans - but you are younger you might be able to do it.. Yes we now have the whole mall not just 2 store CONGRATS ON THE 10'S & 12'S - I KNOW HOW HAPPY THAT MAKES YOU FEEL :thumbup: Well my timer just went of - if i don't set the timer I forget I am cooking and will burn up my dinner - i have done it once or twice from being on here:tongue2: Well off to eat - will ck back later...
-
Karri - I am glad Peaches knew the answer cuz I haven't ever cooked it - I eat butternut and yellow crooked neck squash and zuchinee - I don't even know how to cook it - I guess I am going to have to buy some and try it now. Dont you bake it then run a fork thru it to make it come out like spaghetti??? What are you making with it?? I am hungry - went to the gym - answered phyl's emai - she says Hi everyone - but her interenet is spoty and then answered a p.m from a girl who whats to know if she should have an unfill cuz she can barely eat and she see that I can eat.. Now jump on here to see what's up but see it's been a slow night so far.. Well I am off to start my dinner - fish veggies & rice - - same old stuff now I want to try your squash - let me know about it.. xoxox
-
Still don't know what to eat,after 6mths!!
IndioGirl55 replied to REDGIRL's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Bunny - I have answered your pm hope it helps... I am lucky that I am not tight in the morning and can eat (well I get up at 5 - have coffee and usually don't eat til around 9 - but I am not hungry the minute I wake up) - our band is a very fickle thing and it is so totally diff for each of us.. -
Karri I wore colors & patterns even when I was 2X - I love bright colors - and I do have a lot of black too. but always had some color - heck I have a size 18 pair of red pants.. Now that you have tivo - tivo what not to wear or 10 yrs younger or how to look good naked - all these shows will help you on how to dress now.. Great NSV on the heal pain - I had some of that - off one blood pressure med still have one - but that was my only medical problems - Hangovers - like having the flu - bad headache some people get sick & throw up - me - I just want to eat & sleep and drink tons of water or juice or soda. Drinkings ok - I have sure done my share in life - but can get you in some sitituation that you might not have gotten into if you hadn't been drunk - I am a social drinker - I don't come home at night and have a cocktail - where as alot of people do. It's a good think you aren't a drinker You don't like Ice Tea - I drink that alot in the summer - and OMW i need my caffeinee in the morning - in fact I could use some right now.. I have drank 2/3 of my water - i need one more bottle to get it all in - so that shouldn't be too big of a problem. Well, I'll ck back when I get home from the gym around 5:30- 6
