Hi Laurend - Congrats on getting a tt & bl (arms???) I am happy for you.. I have a questions for you on the arms (my biggest concern) mine are awful -but I hear that sometimes the scar is worse than the skin - what is your p.s. saying?? OMW great surgeon to send you flowers.. Thanks,

nmyacaa Darling - we aren't doctors - we really can't tell you if your band has slipped or not (most likely not but again I am not a doctor) - but when you cheat - you are cheating yourself & your band - instead of mashed potatoes - just make soupy mashed potatoes Instant with all milk (skim) as it will boost your protein - leave off the gravey- just little changes like that will help you - Leave the noodles alone - follow your doctors orders - even with the band you do need will power - you can do this you do have will power - you are stronger than the food.. -
Good Morning Gang TGIF :w00t: Hope you all had a good night - I ended up with 950 calories for the day (had a sf pudding) and just realize I forgot my meat (tri tip from last night) on the counter at home it was going to be my breakfast - well I guess it will be oatmeal :scared2:.. Well, not much going on this weekend - hair coloring tomorrow (omw the gray :cursing:) nails - I think we are getting tickets to see Josh Stone next weekend and that's about it. I am sore this morning - I can imagine how I am going to feel tomorrow - but it's a good sore - I know the muscles have those little tears - which means I am burning calories :eek: Hope you all have good day - I will ck back later.

My doc allows healthy Snacks - low fat string cheese - sf yogurt - sf fudgecicles - fruit - sf popcicles - Hasn't your doc given you a meal plan with food to eat and avoid - I met with a nutristionist prior to being banded - the gave me list of allt he foods I should eat and foods to stay away from... I am too tired - it's 9:12 and 5 comes early - I am going to bed - so check out the food thread you will find healthy food choices there... Sorry - but worked out with trainer today and i am beat... -
Kari Ya with the gym 45 min away the price of gas, the cost of the gym and trainer - it would be a lot and imho to far away to really make a good commitment. Suggestion get some hand weights and when you are sitting work your arms and some bands to work your legs - heck if you go to the exercise section of target walmart or kmart you will find tons of stuff and you can google chair exercises and get a video for thaat - I think Phyl tlaked about it before Trainer is a bit pricey like $100 for 2 x week - I think I am in the wrong profession - how wouldn't you like to make $50 an hr to stand the count and say set - good job.. Maybe I will get super fit and change my occupations:tongue: - today he worked my legs only usually we have been doing a little legs & arms - I told him we needed to bump it up cuz i wasn't sore at all - so omw did he bump it up - my arms hurt from grabing the handles as i worked my legs - and like i said - i was sweating like a pig by the time i was done- I think by saturday I will be sore hope not to sore cuz that's my cardio day . So I guess on Monday we will work my arms... Love the picture - but due to my old age eye sight it's a little small can you make it bigger - ya I know you finally post a picture and I am complaining - but I really want to see you... -I can tell you are a pretty woman and blond like me :w00t: - you look happy holding your grandbaby Karri I would have a VERY HARD TIME varing my menu - like tonight I had red meat - but i would say I eat my fish almost every night - I eat the same stuff - I change it up a bit - like this week I had turkey chili for lunch all week (except today- didn't want it after exercising - cracker & cheese was all I wanted) and not my one pot wonder. and I do go out to eat occaissionally - and I do eat carbs. I did buy some scallops & shrimp and tomorrow I am going to have lobster bisque with the sea food in it.. I still like peanut butter :scared2: oh infact forgot that i better write it in my book - I had 1/2 banana with a teaspoon of peanut butter when I got home from work so that brings my calories to 885 but thats still to low - well tomorrow we are suppose to go out for drinks - so I will make up for them then:tongue: I can't say there is anything that I don't still like.. :eek: Well, i am tired - it's 9 i think i am going to hit the hay... Talk to you all tomorrow - sweet dreams...

Come out come out where every you all are - i have been sitting here all night and no one wants to come out and play... I will be getting off soon as dinner is almost ready.. I didn't exercise tonite since i did it at 11 a.m and I ususally take Thursdays' off... Well, my menu Strawberrys for Breakfast 1 cup 53 c lunch 2 crackers & 1 lite string cheese 150 c 5 pt 1/2 avocado 150 c Dinner - tri tip roast 4 oz 207 30 grms pt - 1/2 c mashed potates 140 - veggies 35 - Snack ?? pudding or popcorn or maybe a Protein bar.. Well the buzzer is ringing - gotta split - ck back later OK BACK - AM EDITING THIS So far today I have only 735 calories - I am not eating enought - so I guess I will have that 200 calorie Protein Bar - need the protein and calories.. Can't beleive I am saying I haven't eaten enough Well the buzzer again - ck back later

I'm older than you guys - so I have the whole age factor going against me along with the loss of the fat that filled out my legs & arms - My tummy isn't bad I have a little flap - boobs - well I have grandma titties - but so what I am a grandma and a good bra you can't tell - legs are not great - but I am past the age of mini skirts and hot pants - but the bat wings OMW they are bad - but so what - to date 81 lbs I feel 10 yrs younger - I am not walking around naked - I wear clothing that flatter my body and undergarments that support it. So to hell with flabby skin - I will take my health any day. I would spend the $$$ on my face before my body (cuz that's what shows) and what I have read the surgery from the arm surgery can leave you with some ugly scars - so ugly that you still can't wear sleeveless tops... Also imho whats the use of having perky boobs if they are all scarred up - -

Yes my original goal was 170 but changed it awhile back to 160 now going to change it to 150 but not until I hit the 160 mark For me this journey hasn't been that difficult - I have never in my lift lost this much weight and originally didn't know what to expect but now - I can see that I can attain my goals - has movtivated me - this journey has shown me that I can and will be healthy... -

I agree again - I am still what I consider a volume eater but now my food choices are healthy ones and I too exercise 3-4 days a week - I truly follow a WW eating plan - the most amount a food for the least amount of calories - I have done quite well myself (imho) on my weight loss - but it's been all about what I chose to put in my mouth and how often I go to the gym.. Your opinions are yours and that's your right and privledge and if others don't always agree that's their right too - we are all individual (key word and reason we all have diff opinions) we all aren't going to agree - but who wants to live in robot world - not me... I just made a post on another thread - where I don't think I am going to be popular - but who cares - I don't - I am going to be successful in this journey and it does take willpower - it's not all about the band - but that's just mho :tongue_smilie: -

Chickie I am with you - for me mentally I have to be able to eat more than 1/2 cup of food per meal - Breakfast varies - form yogurt - to eggs - to oatmel - lunch is usually 1 cup of Protein & veggies - dinner 4 oz fish - 1/2 to 1 cup veggies & 1/2 cup rice - and some popcorn for my nighttime snack - when I was so tight that I could barely eat 1/4 to 1/2 cup per meal and had too take super baby sips of Water - i thought I would go out of my mind - I really don't know why anyone would want to be that tight - to me it's not healthy but forced starvation - -
Watcher I had BC of CA PPO I think it took like maybe a week - my doc's office took care of all that - once I had my shrink visit and doc sent paper work I was approved within a week..- What did you mean by default date of 9/9 - if you don't hear from them you get to have surgery with our with their approval???

Shortgal Thanks - I was lucky that I had insurance but I still had to pay a LARGE program fee to my doc. I truly don't get where people don't think that they have to have will power with the band. Yes you do!!!!! You aren't dieting !!! You are eating healthy!!! you gotta take the word diet out of your vocabulary - diets don't work cuz when you go off them you go back to eating normal - which is what got you fat in the first place!! Eating healthy does work.. I don't think of my eating plan as a diet I truly am eating healthy - I have cut the amount of fat i ate by 95% (remember your dh & I both agreed with Emeril - Pork Fat Rules :tongue_smilie:) I still go out and have a taco or chineese for lunch - I just don't scarf it down in the quainties that I use to and I keep within my 1000 - 1200 calories 99.9% of the time - infact I can't tell you the last time I went over... Exercise takes some time to get use to - But for me it is what is helping my weight loss alot - I got a trainer as I have just been doing treadmill and I want to build some muscle = cuz muscle burn more calories and let me tell you I want to burn those suckers up... As long as you are losing that's all that matters - we all lose weight differently and there are tons of factors to that - I hate to say I have been lucky (don't want to jinx myself) but I can say I have lost something every week even if it was 1/2 lbs since surgery - I am very fortunate to have an excellent motabolism others arent always that luck and my doc say I am not an average bander - he says I am losing weight like a bypass patient - so don't let my numbers or anyone elses get you down or think you are slow loser - I am very lucky that I had good restriction after my second fill and truly didnt need the 3rd one since I had to go back and have him take out .08 of the 1 cc he put in. I am glad that someone else understand - but again - I think it's our age - after all these years we are FINALLY GETTING IT... Age does have it's benefits Keep up the good work and tell your doc to be more aggressive with those darn fills... -
Candace - You are going to be back on the computer tomorrow night?? Well I guess I am a big baby - I spend overnight (well really 2 but only had to stay 1) after my surgery I would have to go back an look but I think it was about 3 days before I even thought of getting on the computer.. Don't know why - but ya i guess I done maybe I hadn't really connected to our thread like I am now - Remember in July & august if you didn't ck in hourly you had 10 pages to read..... I remember that being a little overwhelming.. Well hope you get a good nights sleep - Canada 3 hrs diff than California?? Well know that prayers are being sent for you and we will be waiting to find out what was wrong & what they did to fix it.. xoxox Janet

Steph Yes it is the Zolfot - it makes you less emotional - and that's not a bad thing - My GS was born with a clubfoot - his one leg is tiny and we have to buy 2 pairs of shoes (his left foot is tiny) - I was devistated (sp) after his surgery didn't really repair it correctly (I think shriners messed up) but you know what - when we went back to the hospital and I saw this beautiful pre-teen girl with NO ARMS. it put it all in prospective - it could be worse. This is the way I look at life - ya shit happens and yes it's hard and yes we all get emotional about it - but you know what we are a hell of alot more lucky than other - thank God he wasn't diagonsted with something worse - You will get thru this - I know at times it seems like you won't but we always do - Now remind me of my words next time I am have somthing goings on and all worked up an emotional I have a Protein bar from south beach 210 calories - and has 19 grms of protein and I use it when I need something sweet - Like last night since I only count caloires & protien - i don't worry myself about the sugar or fat content... and I am getting 19 grams of protein OK had to go work with trainer at 11 a.m. today - told the office i had to go to my tax guy (well it's better to lie about going to the gym instead of having a hangover or something like that) OMW - let me tell you he worked my butt off today - I usually don't get hot & sweaty so didn't think it would be a problem - well color me wrong - My head was dripping I was breathing hard - I think I will be sore on Saturday (it takes me 2 days for the soreness to set in) - Thankfully I live across the street I had to go home and blow dry my hair - my head sweats like a pig - not the rest of my body just my head... Ok - I better get my butt back to work... TTYL

Denise On the buddy list / freinds - the only thing it does - is put a plus mark by the names when you are on the home page looling to who's online. You know the section I am talking about - That's the only thing i can see that makes any kind of diff.. Your profile page is now sorta like a myspace page - you can add comments - show your friends - your pic's - next thing they will do is make it so you can add music and graphic - and will will look just like a myspace page for for lapband:tongue: -

Ok - I know i am going to piss some of you off - but i gotta put my 2 cents in here. This is a lifetime lifestyle change in your eating habit - when you cheat you are only cheating you and your surgery. This is not to say that I eat PERFECT 100% of the time but can say that I do 98% of the time. I allow for treats occassionally - but if I think I have over done it - I eat less the next meal and increase my exercise You really have to wrap your mind around this whole lapband issue - the band it's self is not going to make you loose weight - it makes it eaiser yes but it's not the magical cure to our food issues - our food issues are mental and that's were the real work has to be done - imho 75% of the work is going to be up to you and the band will do the other 25% by providing restriction. You gotta plan (shop) for healthy food choices and limit your exposure to unhealthy foods as much as you can - Ice creams, chips, candies, fats and liquid calories slip right on thru (slider foods). If you need a fill get one - and keep bugging your doc for fills until you get to your sweet spot and for each of you that will be diff. Eating hard proteins will keep you fuller longer and for those on liquids eat things that are on plan that you find most statisfing (like creamed soups) Mushies - fat free refried beans. Just cuz you can eat more - why are you - you had major surgery that in its self for me has been a great motivator - I have fewer yrs ahead of me than what's already behind me - I want to extend my life and the only way I am going to buy a little insurance to get to that goal is by eating healthy and exercising This is a whole new learning curve for all of us - we are going to fall down every now and then - but then we have to pick ourselves up dust our butts off and keep on plugging away at our new lifestyle changes. As the saying goes Practice makes perfect. If you are hungry - make good low calorie - sugar free - low fat food choices - you guys can do - you really can - it take some work but it is so doable. Just make the committment to you - this is for you and no one else - you are worth the work and the more you work at it the easier it becomes... -
GOOD MORNING GANG.. As Phyl reported I couldn't get LBT to load on my computer at home - every other website would load but not lapband???? I am not a computer expert - just know enough to be danergous - like earsing something I shouldn't Phyl - LOVE the new do... Looks great on you. As I told you when we were together you can really notice your weight loss - we are going to have to watch out for you once you get your fill next month - You have done so well with out a fill since like October right?? - Keep up the good work.. I am going to miss you when you go home - I know it's not like we see each other every weekend - but just knowing that you are so close makes a diff - you know what i mean - heck when my sister did live here we would run into each other at the grocery store - did see each other all the time due to work family life - but knowing she was here was comforting and now that she lives in Modesto - its just so far away... Lynette - Great on the exercise - every movement counts!!! Doing Great on the calories too... Once you get back on tract each day gets eaiser and coming back to us will help too imho - I fine posting my exercise - furstration - challenges - helps me so much - I have accountable to our gang and that helps keep me on tract. Karri - CONGRATULATION on pending nuptuials - I totally get the why do i need that piece of paper - I didn't get married until I was 40.. Had few live-in - and one that we were engaged but never made it to the altar. Son is same - he is hiding from me - he dropped the girls off on easter and told the baby that he wasn't coming in cuz LaLa (me) wanted to spank him and he didn't want a spanking - Love the new hair and picture - I agree with the dietian - you sure don't look 162.. Fat - I have no problem adding it to my diet - once I was on WW and cut almost all my fat out - that caused problems in the tmi subject - I miss fats the most - I really think prior to banding I ate A LOT OF FAT - butter last forever now a days - were as before I was buying it once a week. I talked to my doc about maint a little yesterday - and about what weight I should get to... He said I looked good now - then said 145 but so I don't know - my trainer says 150 cuz i am big boned. So I am keeping 160 as goal for now and may go to 150 - I think I would like to be a size 8... As far as being religous or not - that's a personal choice and for me it's up to you to choose what you want. I personally don't think it's against God to live together - you love each other and are committed to each other and that's what is important - but will tell you that piece of paper does make a diff - and this is coming for the person who felt the same way as you. Marriage - think of it as cement (not in the bad way like cement boots:tongue:) but as the glue that will help hold you together and show the world that you are a team and you will love saying DH instead of BF - there is a diff in the titles - I would said pride in being able to say this Is my DH - instead of just BF - Marriage is a sign of ture committment. Linda - Hi - have you been to the gym this week - if you want those liquid calories - then I suggest you hit the gym Kristen -I agree one more day - til the weekend... I live for the weekends.. Ruby - Love "how do we fit so many beautiful women in this thread" I think I am changing my exercise #'s next month - I am not getting to the gym 5 days a week - more like 3 or 4 - so going to strive for 4 so that's 16 - goal is 2 x week trainer & 2 days treadmil - Steph- How you doing girl - better?? Ok I took wrote a book - but it's cuz I couldnt get on last nite Peaches' surgery is Friday - so everyone keep her in your prayers/thought... Peaches - how you doing today - the day before surgery is the most nerve racking - you just want it to be over with and the whole not eating after midnite - tell me not to eat and I want to eat .... Karri I LOVE YOUR NEW HAIR DO !!! It looks wonderful on you - your hair looks alot thicker ... I think it took yrs off you.. OMW the diff in your pictues - I would think you weight 150-145 too... I totally get not knowing that we were THAT fat... Our brains protect us - denial - YOU LOOK ABSOULUTLY BEATIFUL !!!!

Good Afternoon Gang Didn't post this morning had a Dr Appt... He says I am doing excellent - wants me to come to one of his seminars to be an example on how well your band works if you do the work and took some pictures and told me I was photogenic (sp?). Told him even fat I always loved the camera Then he sent me for my blood work - 8 Vials of blood.:eek:.. Will be interested in the results - He asked if I want to come back in 2 or 4 months since I'm at my sweet spot - told him 2 months - I want and need the accountablity and who knows in 2 months I might need a fill - so he said ya that's good. Ruby - There is no guilt in venting/polluting about your stuff - cuz truly there is nothing that can't be discussed here - its a support system and not everything is hunky dorky 24/7 - all the stuff that happens to us is what caused us to eat in the past - and like you said - we are here to listen to your rants & raves... Steph - Sorry about your son - If my Mother was alive (committed suicide when I was 15) I think she would have been diagnosed bi-polar - but back in the 50-60-70 I don't think they had a name for it or the drugs that they do now - and if they did maybe she would be alive today.. I am lucky I didn't get her genes - but my one Brother did and he has passed away too (don't know if it was intentional or accidential - drug o.d.) It's so good that you have an excellent doctor and with proper medication he will do fine - you may have some trying times until they get his meds just right but we are here for you and you will get through it.. Hugs & love to you... Ok Ladies - good food choice... I gotta get back to work - ck back later.

OMG I AM SO SORRY I MISSED IT BELATED HAPPY BIRTHDAY DENISE Well it sounds like you got a good present Hope you had a good day I guess I am lucky everyone knows I'm banded so they don't say anything - except one gf say i eat like a bird - but thats cuz she is scarfing down a whole plate to my 1/4 of a plate and she's done before me - tell them ya - I;m trying to get my girlish figure back - bite me buddy or chick whomever is commenting on how much you eat...

Ruby - Glad things worked out !!! Heck all that anger must have burned off some extra calories... Lynette - Sunny hasn't been here in ages - I have sent her p.m. when I sent yours - but got no reply. Marcy may pop in every now and then but not too often. Infact - where is Mango & Steph - we haven't heard from them in a while - OK GIRLS Where are you..... Well, just cking in - went to the gym and did 3 miles - i have incline up to 6 (not the whole time - but for a while ) am pooped - doing the treadmill wears me out more than weights.. Well gotta see what I'm fixing for dinner - ck back later
