    Denise - Thanks I am really stoked about it... OK hunger means we are losing weight - well last night I fed my hunger with a WW fudgecicle so I guess that's why scale only went down 1/2 lbs this morning - But truely I think I am not eating enough - my calories have been like 800-900 lately. But I think my fill is loosing up some cuz I am eating just a tad more. Linda - Thanks - I have already been thinking about that :lol: The flight is only 1 hr on a puddle jumper :eek: but with all these new airline rules (changed since I flew 2 yrs ago) I don't know what I can take on a carry on and I don't think puddle jumpers have ck'd baggage?? 3 day - it's going to be hot in Vegas in June - want to look classic but comfy and need to take things that pack well. I must have my makeup - I use a cream foundation - can that go on a carry on??? Linda - Even if I am the food cop :cool: I still agree with you 100% Ruby Congrats on doing your exercise... I love to watch lighting as long as the power doesn't go out - that is the only thing in the world that really makes me a little scared... Can you beleive that a 53 yr old women who hates when the power goes out - I am not scared of the dark per se except when I can't turn on a light Well, my trainer had a meeting yesterday - so my weight training will be Friday instead - but I did go and do the treadmill last night did 1/4 of a mile on 10 incline :wink2: then - will be going again tonite - gotta get the scale moving and again - here is a challenge for those of us who aren't getting all our water (ME) lets get that water in today:thumbup::thumbup: OK off to my desk - ck back later

    Karri - CONGRATULATIONS - ALL DONE BEFORE YOUR 1 YR ANNIVERSARY!! I think I would like having a female doctor too - Oh forgot to give you props for RUNNING 2 MILES:thumbup: No Problem Ruby - just trying to keep you & Linda on the right side of the law:cool: I bought my GS a piece of cheesecake last week - it's still in the fridge - but it hasn't been calling my name either cuz if it was it would be in the trash:lol: Linda - Distraction does seem to help 98% of the time but yes sometimes nothing works -:huh2: Kari - Congrats on all that water - I have only had 2 bottles need one more - I didn't do too well on that goal today like I had planned. Ruby - I bought some 100 calorie snack pack reese pb cookie thingies - they are very good but tiny portion - and when I start with sugar watch out - i keep going back too - so they are in the back of the panty - I just don't trust myself - last night wanted sweets after dinner - ate a sf yogurt and for my midnite raid 4 0z o.j. an 3 walnut pieces. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Steph - Hugs to you - the thing with your son will work out - but I know how hard it is to see the light at the end of the tunnel - Congrats On the Large Shirt :thumbup: ---------------------------------------------------------------------- I got some news gang - I have been invited to sit on a patient advisory council meeting with the Allergan people in June (27-29) in Vegas at the Wynn Hotel - How cool is that - I feel pretty honored. I called and rsvp today - already have airplane ticket - omg their travel people great all done in like 10 minutes had E ticket in 30 :smile: Well I really now have extra incentive to get to goal by then.. 11 weeks - 16.5 lbs - might be streaching it - but I can come close if I kick up the exercise - but I have that weekend in Laughlin too - so who know - but I will get real close I promise you that... Well, timer is buzzing - so dinners done.. 4 oz catfish - spinach & 1/2 c rice :tongue: Will ck back in a bit.. P

    Ok no friggin cookies ladies :thumbdown::sigh: - I mean it :glare:- or Karri and I are going to come and lock you up in jail and throw away the keys.:lol: Come on lapband surgery - remember - if we could just stop at one it would be ok - but since we can't - don't even start - Cookies are the DEVIL - THEY GOT YOU FAT IN THE FIRST PLACE.. They don't taste good they are full of sugar and fat - which just turns to uglier fat on your body and even worse the scales won't move DOWNwards on your weight in days and then you will be crying the blues... Why - I am so mad at myself - Well if you don't do it - you won't be mad at yourself - go make a fruit salad - add some nuts & sf cool whip - make a alba choc shake and add a banana... Anything but a cookie... tough band love (operative word being love :smile:) And linda do you want those cookies or your wine that you budget for:tongue:

    Heimlich Maneuver and lapband question

    I have already discussed this w/my doc and the answer is - if you need to have it preformed in order to save your life - then there is no question - we would worry about the band later - if you didn't have it you could die. He really didn't think it would hurt the band - but he didn't know of any cases as of yet.

    Good Morning Gang Phyl the cippino sounds great I have always wanted that and bul-u- base (sp - just sound it out:biggrin:) Ya remember the days where we ate the bread, soup, salad and our dinner - then wanted dessert :redface: Karri you might just still be a little swollen - and sometimes (not often) i find my band tight at night especially if I haven't eaten in a while. Well, I was hungry last night - I think my band has loosen up a bit - or it could be that I am just tired - from what i don't know - I have been trying to do better with my vitamins and today - goal is to drink my water !!!! Ok off to ck my desk - Later

    Linda Congrats on 2 more lbs :eek: Vino and all you are doing so good.:tongue:.. Why did you take your ticker off :thumbup: I didn't exercise tonite - went to see a gf then drop off my check for the Ranches property taxes :eek: due by the 10th I have been tired too. I don't think I have been eating as well as I should. Last week I didn't eat breakfast a couple of days and on the weekends my eating is all messed up except for dinner - I ALWAYS EAT DINNER :Banane20: today my lunch was 2 crackers and 1 piece of string cheese I was hungry when I got home but got on the computer and then cleaned up the mess my sick gs left. I am done with the whole Aunt Flo issue I think.. it had been about 9 months no spotting or anything - then had 3 weeks of spotting but that was a while back - but i am lucky no other symptoms at all.. Learning spanish - that's really great... Here in Indio the majority of the population is Mexican - Como Sa Yama (can't spell spanish) can understand a few words - know the cuss words of course - and i am an EXPERT in ordering food (Taco - Burritto - El Pollo - Friejolies) - but I can't speak the lanuage - I can barely speak english :Banane20: what's margo in the aft?? Sorry for the rain and cold - We have winds and cloudy for the next few days - but this weekend is suppose to be hot - don't you need to come visit your son out here in Cali for some reason - heck just getting away from the cold would be reason enought and you really could just come and stay with me for a couple of days - I would make sure I stocked your kind of vino :wink2: Well gotta go feed my little fur babies...

    Thanks Tami I call my band my interior motivator - and also gotta tell you that you have to take that word "hopefully" out of your vocabulary!!!! Posititive Affrimations - I will make the right food choices !!!!! You are going to be fighting with yourself enough over food chocies - so you don't need that little word "hope" to derail the "i will" I read the calorie content and Protein grams of everything I put in my mouth - I keep a food diary (I am a WW girl) i count calories & protein grams - and I have had ppl tell me that they didn't get banded to diet and track - but as a fat person we dont' know what a portion size is we don't know how many grams of protein are in 4 oz of meat (7 grms per ounce) I use my food diary as a learning tool - and it keeps me honesty too - it's so easy to forget 50 calorie here and there but they add up.. For me I find talking to my friends here a great source of motivation support and accountablity and it also becomes our transfer addiction - but it's sure and the heck better than the alternative (drinkiing gambleing etc)

Just make me tear up - I told you your band mommy is a sentimental fool I'm so happy for you. Your Dad is good looking too.. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Phyl You are doing good on your portions sound like they are ok - so don't sweat it you are doing the best you can while eating out. Like I said before my challenge will be the weekends that I am not at home - plus I know the concert will involve drinking and maybe be the night before to - I know we are all so concerned about losing weight right now - and we want to keep the scales moving downward - but life does happen and there are going to be times that we gain 5 lbs - the diff is now we will stop at those 5 lbs - no more oh 5lbs that's ok my clothes still fit - NO WE WILL NOT EVER AGAIN ALLOW MORE THAN A 5 LBS GAIN - WE WILL GET RIGHT BACK ON TRACT IMMEDIATELY - but it's going to happen - so like you tell me "Chill" you are doing very well and compared on what you would have done last yr at this time - you are 100% a head of the game... I would have loved to see DGD in the water - those are the best scenes funny but not funny - hope she didn't get too cold.. OH the top scale counts til you get home and get back on your home scale..

    Welcome Tami - Congrats on your band - we do have a couple of March Babies who have joined our little gang. I'm Janet aka IndioGirl%% I have 1 grown Son 3 Grandkids 17 13 4 - the 17 yr old lives with me I was banded 7/17 - doing great feeling 10yrs younger and if you go back a page you can see the before and almost to goal pics of me that I posted on Sunday. The band is the greatest tool - since I really didn't have one down fall - i just ate too much good home cooked foods and didn't exercise - I gotta say for me this hasn't been that hard of a ride - I just use my band with all that I have learned from all those other diets and I exercise. We have a great group - happy to have you join us..

    Hey there Phyl - we still have some wind - mostly at night - so our weather hasn't gotten any better since you left. You all are really quite today - is this a good thing or a bad thing :frown: Are we falling off the band wagon - or are we just busy - or we are doing good. I am back from the dentist - thankfully the crown he is replacing the tooth already had a root canal - so I didn't have to have gas :drool: - I am hungry haven't eaten lunch gotta go throw my veggies in the microwave... Hope you all are having a good day...

    Serenity We are the same age - I was banded last July (52) and I can tell you it's the very best thing I have ever done for myself - 83.5 lbs lighter and feel 10 yrs younger - and look oh so much better. I had been think about this for years - but for awhile bands weren't covered by insurance and I didn't want bypass - in talking with a friend she said if you want to have it - go ck into it - and off I went and 7 weeks later I was banded. Good Luck on looking for your signs - Jung said no such thing as coincidences :frown:
  20. Congratulation Yvonne - I remember how excited I was when I got my surgery date - It's normal to be a little afraid - but just say your prayers and everything should work out find. The band is a great tool to help you in losing weight - You are already on the exercise mode so you got that going for you - add the new lifetime lifestyle change to eating healthy you will succeed in your goal to be healthy. The only people who don't lose weight are the ones that don't change their eating habits, eat around their bands and don't exercise. The band does not make you lose weight - it's just a piece of plastic in your body - it does help control your portions once you get proper restriction but it does also require will power on your part - to eat healthier and exercise.     Good Morning Ladies Karri - I have never pb'd for more than a couple of minutes. My DGS has some stomach virus which I am afarid of cuz I don't want to throw up. I think next time I go to the doc - i am going to ask him about that - maybe we should have some kind of medicine on had for those sitiuations. Linda - Thanks - Both you and Candice are going to have to come to Cali to get the clothes - oh never mind - i can bring them to MN - and just trade them out for the new clothes I will be getting.. But truely I got 16 lbs to go - (I really need to change my ticker cuz I really think I want that 150 #) and I don't think 16.5 lbs will make that much diff in my size - due to the saggy skin issues. Plus when I went to the doc on 3/24 my body fat (per his scale) was 38.something % I wonder how it weighs your saggy skin like fat??) My trainer mentioned last again night that he thought I had lost some weight - don't know if he was just being nice (well no cuz he is a for real person and I don't think he's blowing smoke just so I keep going to him- see how skeptical I am - I know just say thank you) Well, not much to report from last night - didn't do any midnite raids - those do seem to be getting fewer for whatever reason - not to say they don't happen - but not as much - my dear little angel wakes me up every nite to go potty - 1 a.m. last night - but I just take her out and go back to bed (well had to ck on DGS as he wanted some medicine for his headach). So for me that's a great NSV cuz - heck at night I would eat a whole nother meal..:thumbs_up: Dentist today - getting a crown fixed so that wont be too bad but on 4/29 getting old sliver filing remove and replace - ugh - thankfully he has gas which does help take the edge off the nerves.. Well, gotta ck my desk and get some stuff done - as usual will ck back later..

    Be 9 months pg in July in the middle of the desert :lol: and then only have a swamp cooler and no a/c :wub: Denise you will be so happy with yourself - once you get to your goal I will hear you yelling all the way to California (i forget are you washington or oregon - to me they are about one in the same - just like az & ca)

    Karri Congrats 6/20 - see I told you things would work out I am so happy for you :biggrin::wub: Did you eat too fast - I usually don't have problems with my fish unless I have eaten too fast.. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Where is everyone tonite?? it's 8:06 here in Cali - so it's like 11 pm for most of you - (karri me kristin phly on west coast time) Well I don't have much to report DGS has stomach bug - I went to the gym and walk 1.25 mile and then met Idrise (my trainer) and we did arms Well, Off to the TV and shred the chicken I boiled - going to cut up zuchinne - yellow squash - bell pepper - onion - add spaghetti sauce and the chicken and make a new one pot wonder Oh ya Dancing with the Stars is on too.. Welll will ck back later

From one Janet to another Janet I totally get where you are coming from you are bound and deterimd to get this weight off and getting healthy - but imho you need more than 500 calories a day - I love that you understand that even with the band that you need will power - cuz you do especially until you get to your sweet spot - but you also have to live life - and 500 calorie just doesn't seem like its super healthy and that's what you are striving for is to be healthy. All our doc's are diff - some say eat 4 oz per meal - some say 2 - I have usually always eaten 1 cup of food per meal - mentally I can't eat less than that - I keep my calories between 900 to 1200 and I have been losing steadily since I was banded in July and I like you used the treadmill 4-5 days a week till I was released for weight training. You don't want to burn yourself out either which I am afarid you are going to do on 500 calories a day - are you getting 60 grms of Protein in with that 500 calorie - this is a lifetime lifestyle change in your eating not just another diet - cuz as they saying goes - diets don't work. And this isn't a race either - You have to learn new healthy eating habit and with the combination of the exercise you will lose the weight I just don't want you to deprive yourself so much that you end up binging on ice cream and Cookies - i would love for you to know what a normal portion size is - and eating 500 calories a day - you aren't eating normal portions.. Be healthy - that's what's important and you have taken the step to get there with your band - but please be careful - I think 500 calories a is just not enought food to live on ... and as I said before - I don't want you to burn out and am afaird you will on such a small amount of food.. ((Hugs))

    Ok Denise When the frickin commercials come on switch the freaking channel - you have no excuses you control the remote at your house.:wub: The great privledge of being single.... You know that the ice cream really doesn't taste as good as we imagine. You got 5 lbs to go to your goal - and you know how hard these last 5 lbs are going to be and you have been having treats at all your baby showers (4/15 is almost here:biggrin:) So you have already had you 2% of treats for the last couple of weeks. Go to the store buy some fruit (strawberries - canned peaches in lite surupy and some sf cool whip and make yourself a fruit salad with some cool whip on top and add some nuts or granola - or get some sf dannon lite & fit yogurt add the granola to that.. - go get healthy choice fudgecicles they are sf and only 80 calories and 3 grms pt. Come on sweets - you don't need them - it's the power of positive thinking - Think how good those strawberries are going to taste with some cool whip on top - and add some splenda too - just think you will be getting your sweet fix and some vitimans too... You don't need 800 calories for a stupid sunday or blizzard (we don't have dairy queen commercial - or if we do I haven't seen it) but heck you don't want to waste your calories on junk... You are stronger than those commercials you are stronger than those stupid ad executies who just want you to waste your money and add fat to your body - You are strong look how far you have come !!! Go eat some fruit & cool whip - or some yogurt - you will be happy and so proud of yourself for not caving - you are stronger than food - you can say no to that devil ice cream... You are woman hear you roar
