ok wtf is going on - don't they know that we are ADDICTED to our Lucky #7 Thread - It has taken me forever to get to post - I have check'd on and off ALL day and zip.. Linda 10 1/2 lbs baby OMW that had to hurt  - My DS was 8.1 and my GS was 9 - and his mom was like a size 2  For me its the arms - tummy a little flap but nothing my lipo in a box doesn't take care of - ARMS... This is why I think we need to lobby against insurance companies - if they are going to cover WLS then they should cover the reconstruction of our bodies too with out have to have rashes and back aches etc - without the ps what incentive is there to keep the weight off - you have all this ugly saggy skin - at least with the fat is was plumped out.. Karri - Glad you are doing better today - Ups and downs I understand - but you gotta understand we worry about you too cuz we LOVE YOU.. I need Candice - Steph - Kari - to p.m. me your emails - I was going to do a LUCKY #7 email cuz the site was down - but I don't have your emails - I think I have all the other regular posters - Phyl - Jackie - Ruby - Kristin - Linda - Mango - Karri - and If I am missing someone - just pm or email me - jwrightpim@aol.com your emails - so we can stay in contact when the site is down... Gosh I am so frickkin smart sometimes :hurt: Well, I did legs tonite 3 - 30 reps on this one machine - the 1st 2 reps 100 lbs and then like 115 for the last set - Hope I can walk tomorrow.. Well the buzzer went off - will cbl - to see if we are up or not. I have had 3 bottles of Water

Amsderb It's really about what works for you imho - I am up at 5 at work by 7:15 - It's 9 and I am eating my oatmeal (weight control) - I am not hungry when I leave home - I am hungry around this time - I always eat bf at my desk :tt2: Props to you teachers - I couldn't do it - I would pop some smart mouth kid.. -
I am just now able to get on and it's almost 9 a.m and have been trying since 7:15. Karri - OK you are eating - Increase your fat/calories and not the quanity that you are eating - imho - I think that increasing the amount could cause problems - and instead of lf string cheese - have regular string cheese - things like that.. 2% milk instead of skim - etc.. Have DH hide the scale again :tt2: - You will make it thru this - that is if you don't drive yourself crazy  - But you have us to keep you sane  - Ok not much to report - I just hate when our site is so slow... I go thru withdrawls... cbl

Nope my doc wants you eating real food - I do have some clear Protein drinks that are like a crystal lite - that I will use every now in then if I am not getting enough protein in.. I don't find that the protein shakes keep me full - they are liquid and slide right thru the band.. Hard protein and foods with substantiate keep me full the longest as they don't slide thru the band.. -
My connect was so slow for a while there - then had to go eat - Idol is a little boring - well I gotta see what David Cook does - He is my Fav.. OK Karri - I was just worried since you hadn't ck'd in all day... You Band Mommy is going to give you a little talking to. I agree with Phyl - I totally get the being afraid - I really really do - but with all your exercise and training for the marathon you are going to have to do one of the 2 - #1 Eat HIGH CALORIE FOODS IN SMALL QUANTITIES - OR #2 LOWER CALORIE FOODS IN LARGER QUANTITIES - My vote would be for #1 so that you can still control your portion issues. If you are hungry have a piece of fruit - or string cheese - you need the carbs for your training you need the fat for your skin and the tmi subject.. You are going to have to have energy to run 13 miles and you aren't going to get it from eating 1/2 cup of food.. And this statement - i am eating more that I was before the fill was taken out - Darling you were so tight that you couldn't eat - in something I can relate to how many cups of food do you eat per meal. I agree with Phyl you gotta relax just a tad - were you this obsessive over eating prior to the band or is it the fear that is getting to you - Since I still have restriction and If I didn't KNOW that I would have problems - look at me now I am still trying to stuff my face even when I am full - that's one reason I got on the computer cuz I haven't finished my dinner - ate all my fish - 1/2 my pasta (whole wheat 180 c for 1 serving) and haven't touched my veggies.. it's funny my band is tight at night - I wonder if it's the exercise - cus at lunch it isn't.. You are 100% more dislepend than me so chill a tad - eat some more fat you are going to do great - we are right here holding you up... Just don't go back to the foods that you ate prior to banding - those are your trigger foods.. Linda - I could totally relate to standing naked infront of the doctor - but this is their job - you aren't the 1st ex-fatty they have seen - I know that doesn't help but it's only a moment in time - next year at this time you will be so happy - And I REALLY WANT YOU AND JACKIE TO COME TO M of A... I am going to guilt you guys into it  Phyl - Yes I am a bad girl - you guys just don't know about my bad side - I could be a crook - but I am afraid of Jail  I will tell you all in person how bad I was - but I am not posting it on the internet for the world to see - there was a thread once that said - What would people be surprised to know about you .... I almost posted but - really don't want that kind of info on the web :tt2: Ruby - As stated above - I can come up with great ideas - heck you pay for the insurance and IMHO our surgeries (ps) should be covered by insurance as we have lost all this weight due to trying to get healthy and the residual fat and skin left behind is a mental problem for us which could cause us to gain the weight back.. Hugs to DH us who have lost our parents totally get his pain - for those who still have yours - call them right now and tell them you love them.. (omw I am an old jewish mother aren't I - no offense I think I was jewish in my prior life:tongue:) Oh Karri - my investment broker is in Bend OR right now (he travels to offices who needs his help) - Edward Jones - he said you are like right next door - he told me about the snow - Oh ya Phyl I was hot - I will send the heat your way - I hate being hot when I exercise and they had cleaned the ceiling fans last night and forgot to turn the one above MY treadmill on - I asked the manager about it but they didn't have anything to reach up there and the ladder was too big to bring out with the gym being full... My x made fun of me about exercising with the fan on me - he said that was the whole purpose of exercise is to sweat - but the stupid man didn't know that that's only water weight and not fat and as soon as you drink a glass of water the weight is right back- I think pple who wear those plastic suits (and they still do I have seen it in the gym) are so STUPID.... ok my obsession with eating one more bite is gone - LUCKY #7 thank you and it's 9:19 and so I gotta go make coffee and get ready for bed. Karri - You will be ok -Hugs - We have faith in you and that in it self should hellp carry you thru - It does me - your guys faith in me helps keep me on the straight and narrow.. Oh ya Ruby - I have gotten my water for the last 2 day :tt2: Sweet dreams - See ya all tomorrow....

I have been eating oatmeal (weight control) for Breakfast - I have some kasha cereal 8 grm -- I am cooking dinner and just ck fiber content on spinach or french green Beans only 1 gr of fiber :blushing: I am ok in the tmi subject as long as I get all my Water in - but the bad cholesterol was 121 where as before surgery I didn't have a problem (i think) - I guess I will have to add some sandwiches into my eating - I don't eat them much I have some WW multi grain bread 2 slices 100 calories but only 4 grms of fiber - heck how much fiber to we need to lower my cholesterol?? -
Mpope There are many factors that go into the whole saggy skin - Your age - how long you have been over weight - DNA (this is the biggest factor) Think of a garbage bag put in a ten pound weight - leave it there for a short time then take it out - the bag goes back into shape Now take 80 lbs and leave the weights in the garbage back for a few years - take it out the bag will not go back into shape. Exercise works your muscles not your skin - building more muscle fills the space where the fat was and your skin - but it's not going to firm your skin, What's more important - saggy skin - or your health?? Saggy skin is not going to kill you but that fat will - put it into perspective.. I have grandma boobs (I am a Grandma :scared2:) but with proper bra they look good - I have a little flap on my tummy nothing spanxs doesn't take care of. My arms - will that's another story - but I just don't go sleeveless. Heck we don't live in Eden where we would be walking around naked - (thanks Eve :blushing:) We walk around clothed - so most of the flabby skin is covered up.. I feel 10 yrs younger - Look 100% better - and God willing have extended my life span - and this was the whole purpose of my getting the band. The better looks is secondary to me. There are always plastic surgeons - but insurance will not cover them unless it's medically necessary - (rashes under your apron if you have one) So the real question should be - What's Important to you... Your health or a little flabby skin??
-
Bexter - Sounds like you might not even need a fill - you have restrictions.. Suggestions that work for me - Take tiny bites (size of a pencil eraser) eat slowly and chew chew chew. chicken seems to be a hard one for alot people - but try the tiny bites - have you tried lean red mead - pork or fish ? Our bands are very fickle - one day you can eat chicken the next day you can't. Have you tried yellow crooked neck squash or zucchini. I find them very band friendly along with spinach and french style green Beans, grilled egg plant with out the skin..

Phyl you CRACK ME UP :blushing::scared2: I Love it !!!! yes HOPE is a 4 letter bad word you are so quick - Our bands are just the greatest invention - they make a hard job just a little easier Yep Denise - fruit bad for you - no way - I gotta have fruit - and some starch - I am going to try some whole wheat pasta tonite instead of my rice - I gotta increase my fiber - my blood test came back I am a little high in my bad cholesterol - but my over all cholesterol is normal - I gotta tell my nut to fax me the blood test before surgery so I can compare... -
Phyl I like the current one - you really can see the diff - i went back and looked at your original picutre - go look at that one - You are DOING GREAT :blushing: - How's your fill doing??
-
CONGRATS - CANDICE - I am so proud of you !!!!! KARRI WHERE ARE YOU !!! You haven't been on since last night - Mommy Dearest is worrying :scared2: M of A - Phyl - Steph - Me - Candice and hopfully Linda & Jackie.. Well, I went to the gym - did 2 miles 36 minutes 4 to 7 incline 3.0 - 3.7 speed. But the fan wasing working and I was hot.. Ruby - I wouldn't take the pills - tell them you are and keep going back complaining about the rash just so that i could get it covered by insurance. :blushing:

IndioGirl55 replied to oneinamillion's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Linzluo I agree with bandfan - you gotta ck with your doc - I was cleared to exercise after 6 weeks - but I still didn't do anything that would affect my port (no sit ups or crunches - i err'd on the safe side) I think you are not eating enough on 500 calories a day - from day one mine have been 800-1200 - This is why you may be so hungry - you aren't eating enough food - this is a lifetime lifestyle change in your eating not a diet - diets don't work - cuz when you go off them you gain your weight back. And since I am not a Atkins girl - I eat limited carbs and always have - I usually include them in my dinner - but I consider carbs starches - I am a weight watcher girl - and that's the eating plan I follow - but if the Atkins works for you go for it - but I still would add some calories - 500 is not enough to live on and be healthy IMHO.. -
Just 30 minutes, it is all I got in me.

Gingerbug That's great:thumbup: - small steps that's how I started :Dancing_biggrin: 30 mins 9 months ago and now I have a trainer 2 x week and then do cardio for 1 hr 2 x week. Can't say I am a gym rat -but I do feel so much better after I exercise. Keep up the good work...:glare: -

Lynn - Congratulations - Good Job - Keep us the good work - as long as you are losing weight - I wouldn't worry about the carbs - but again I am a WW girl - I could never do atkins - I gotta have my starches and I have discussed with my trainer and he says as long as it's working for you - don't change it - it's only when you hit a plateau that you have to change up your eating - You gotta find what works for YOU that you can live with the rest of your life. This isn't about being deprived - it's about making good choices... Shortgal - I really don't understand why ppl join just to stir up crap - I guess they don't have a life :Dancing_biggrin: Congrats on the exercise - for me it's key - but you don't know what HOT is :glare: come to the desert in July - August Yep our WW fees weren't all wasted - we did learn alot and now can apply them to our band.. Healthy Life Styles... My original goal was 170 - then but it to 160 then reduced it againg to 150 - but put it back up to 160 - I can fit a 10 - some 8's and look prettty good for an old x fatty and feel so much stronger ... So 160 is my goal and anything lower will be icing on the cake. (the cake that I don't eat anymore) Good luck on your next fill !!! Restriction does make the job eaiser.. Yep Denise - we need to still live life - I am just so happy that you got to goal - that's a big thing for us who have been fat - getting to goal... -
What do I do NOW?!
IndioGirl55 replied to BATassbandita?'s topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Good job !!! Practice Practice - I still will try to eat to fast or not chew when I am hungry - but my band is there to remind me - but I don't like the reminders so I do try hard to eat slow - tiny bite and chew the crap of of the food. We are here for you - Good Luck on your journey. -

IndioGirl55 replied to oneinamillion's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Bandfan Yes you are 100% it's time for you !!!! My life has improved immensely. As women we give give give and imho that's why we eat eat eat - cuz no one ever seems to give back or appreciate us - we comfort ourselves with food (we I did and boredom). I will keep you in my prayers and keep up posted on how you are doing. We are here to help you through the rough spots and there will be many but the band is a great tool to help make the journey a little easier.. Good Luck... -
HollySue You are not a failure - you are just in a rough spot. If you can not eat regular food (I'm not talking about pizza) but meats/hard Proteins (cut up to the size of an erase tip), chicken, fish, veggies and some carbs you are too tight and should have some taken out. What is a typical day's food for you - are you tracking your calories are you exercise - are you eating low fat & sugar free. I think you have resorted to eating slider foods (foods that slide right through your band) and that you may be eating more calories than you think. I know that people say they didn't get the band to weight & measure foods - to track calories and Protein grams - but as fat chick we don't know what a real serving size is - we think a serving is 16 oz steak - large loaded baked potato - Soup & salad then dessert - when in fact 4 oz of meat - 1/4 of a large baked potato without the extra and 1/2 cup veggies is a real serving size.. I use my scale and food diary as a learning tool - it helps me know what calories I have eaten for the day - It's easy to forget that string cheese and few crackers - those 200 calories adds up. We are suppose to get min 60 grms of protein - if you aren't reading labels and tracking you don't know what you are getting or not getting - did you know that for every ounce of meat you have 7 grams pt.. I think that you need to quit the pity party about being a failure you aren't you have lost 50lbs and that's a considerable amount to be proud of Now just pull yourself up by your boot straps - make the commitment to yourself right this second that you are going to get the rest of your weight off. This commitment will include exercising min 3 x week for min 30 minutes and build from there - Track your calories - 900 -1200 a day - Eat healthily low fat - low sugar - get your 64 oz of Water - 60 grams of pt & Vitamins. If you need some take out to achieve this (remember tiny tiny bites eat slowly and chew chew chew) if this doesn't work then you do need some taken out - don't drink with meals and up to 1/2 hr after. You can do this Hollysue :glare:- Stand up for yourself you are worth it :Dancing_biggrin:- Come join us on our main thread we are a great group and we will help you We aren't going to beat you up - we aren't going to yell at you we all understand - but we will give you tough band love (operative word being love) I look forward to seeing you on our thread You are a Lucky #7 and you will succeed..

3 weeks out & eating like a horse!
IndioGirl55 replied to oneinamillion's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yep gang this isn't the easy way out - we have to work hard to fight our addictions to food - they banded our tummies but not our heads and that's where most of our problems lie IMHO.. I still have to fight the urge to eat one more bite cuz it taste good - I had this problem last night - I was FULL - but I wanted to continue eat. We have had this addiction for a while (some of us longer than others) and it's not going to disappear just cuz we got banded. Stop and think before you eat - are you hungry - are you really just bored, tired, stress etc. Plan Plan Plan - I cook on Sunday's for my lunch for the week - this week - Turkey Chili - have Weight Control oatmeal for Breakfast and taken out fish for dinner - I am on my 1st bottle or Water - gotta have one bottle before I eat breakfast.. The little bit of hunger isn't going to kill you but the fat is - skinny people get hungry too - they just don't give in and over eat like we do - they eat healthier foods - If you just have to eat - make sure it's high in Protein - low in fat & sugar. (LF String cheese - fruit - veggies) Well, need to get my butt to work - Remember you can do this - positive think - plan - exercise - got look at the before & after pictures - they are great motivators... Make the commitment to yourself.. -
Good Morning Gang.... How is everyone this morning !!!! Well, I am a PIG - nothing bad - but I still eat when not hungry taking those 1 more bite when I don't have anymore room.. I had to take a pecid last night - I usually don't have heartburn - but cuz I was a pig I did. No More Janet.... Today is a new day - but it's not the day time it's the nights - so tonite is a new night Ok as to the Trip to MofA - this is why I haven't really booked a ticket - I sorta figured that we would have a lot of cancellations. I totally understand due to rising cost of gas - food - and everyones PS and family obligations. I guess I will just hold off on ticket till I see what's going on with everyone this summer.. Well off to ck my desk - I will ck back later..

IndioGirl55 replied to oneinamillion's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You can not compare your weight loss to bypass patients - Please Please don't do they - you will set yourself up for failure. This is why imho lapbanders should have their own support group. My doc has one - but I like it better here - My month's group is great and so are my 50+ gang. I hope you don't have fettuccine in the house - get all the junk in the house that is going to tempt you OUT.. Replace it all with healthy low fat sugar free foods. Until you have control - your really need to plan. IMHO planing is key - sit down and make a menu of healthy meals - get a food scale so that you know what 4 oz of meat or what ever looks likes. After you have planed your weeks menu - go to the store an buy only the items you need on your list - walk right by all the junk - you didn't get banded to continue to eat the junk - then go home and throw out all the bad stuff as you throw it in the trash say "better in thee than in me" that is your new mantra. I have thrown out almost full jars of Peanut Butter cuz I kept going back for another teaspoon - ya it's Protein but 210 calories - no way jose.... In the trash.. If you have family talk to them explain you need their help - if they just have to have something like Cookies or chips - have them put it in a zip lock and take it to their room - I had my GS take his Bday cupcakes and hide them - they were calling me - I had 1 and that was enough. So I got them out of my sight - out of sight out of mind.. I am a Weight Watch girl - I don't go to meeting or count points (I still relate to the old exchange plan - I know my age show ) but I feel it's a healthy eating plan - as I have said a million times since I have been on LBT this is a lifetime lifestyle change in our eating - we have to re-learn so much - This is a learning process - you have to take it one day at a time and as I said before you are going to have to have some will power - you do have it in you - it's just buried right now and you gotta dig deep and get a hold of it and hang on tight. When you want to eat - get on line - talk to us - go clean the bathroom or your sock drawer - just do something to distract yourself . You can do this !!!!! This is quick cuz it's 11 and I have to hit the hay - so I will ck back w/you tomorrow to see how you are doing.. Take care..
