I just micro waved them - 220 calories - I will have to look at pt grms when I get home - and the skin wasn't too tough - We like farmer john hot links but i have found that the skin on those don't agree to well w/my band - my fav was the ends... now I will just add the insides to my omelets. Well, that would work if the doc could get you in ASAP - OMW you will become our new treadmill queen once you get those knees fixed...:w00t: ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Karri Hugs for your students as all us non-teacher pple - we give you teachers tons of props - I couldn't do it... Step - Yep I can taste it - My original goal was 170 when I started this journey almost a yr ago - Joined LBT 5/14/07 - 1st appointment with Surgeon 5/31 - Then at some point I changed it to 160 - then changed it to 150 once I got a trainer (he said this is what I should weigh and still look good) - but then changed it back to 160 - mostly because I am afraid of not getting to the 150 and that it was going to put too much pressure on me - I need/want to hit a goal for once in my life. So 160 it is but truly I really want the 150 # - I want to lose 100 lbs and as of right now I don't think 14 lbs is going to make me too skinny. So I am cheating - 160 is my official goal - but will still strive to get to the 150 as I said before - icing on the cake.. It's all a mind game - but I am delusional at times - I truly never thought I would be where I am today... I love your power point idea... Count me in... Oh ya 1 bottle of water down - starting on my second...

I really need some support !!!
IndioGirl55 replied to Linda Hamsing Rosen's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Linda Please don't compare yourself to a person who has had bypass or even with another lapband person - We are individuals and we all work diff at this - we all lose differently. If you compare yourself with others and let it get to you - you are setting your self up for failure. You have a plan - Doc - Support Group - Shrink - Making Better food choices - This combination of all these thing IS going to make you a healthier & happier person.. Good Luck.. -

IndioGirl55 replied to Linda Hamsing Rosen's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Linda I am sorry for your struggles.... You do need to see your doctor and discuss your issues and If you cant wait till next Monday call and see if you can get in before. I'm not a doc so I really can't address your spasms or the burning - is the burning like heart burn - do you have chewable pecid - As you have heard before - the band is only a tool - but I know that there are some who stil think that this will be the magic cure to their issues with food. The band is far from easy - once you get proper restriction it does curb how much you can eat at one sitting. But as you said - it has no effect of some of the unhealthy foods - they silde right through. The have banded our stomachs - not our brains - IMHO most of our problems are in our brains and not our tummies. Even with the band you still have to have will power - the will to change your unhealthy eating habits and add exercise in your life. There is an article in the Magazine Section above - Is your band failing you or are you failing your band - by Coach Cher.. You might want to read this, Good Luck - You can do this -

The fires are in Los Angeles - I live in Indio (Date Capital of the World) which is 20 miles east of Palm Springs 10 miles east of Palm Desert & Rancho Mirage (Cities that they talk about on the News that you might be familar with - Pres Ford lived in RM and services where held in Palm Desert so we were on the News) LA is about 2 - 3 hr drive west of us. Congrats on the weight lost - It's so cool to get on the scale and see the efforts of your work As to your port site - that will hurt the longest (well for me it did) I found that if I wore pants that buttoned (didn't give) it hurt my port even though the port site is above my waist - I think mine was a discomfort for about 2 weeks - I wore dresses alot during those weeks or pants that had elastic waist. I don't have a recliner so I slept in bed and it was a little hard but not that bad.. Ya eggs can be problematic especailly if you don't take tiny bites - and one day you eat them with no problem and next day :w00t: Lynn Congrats on the exercise - My arms :w00t: - but the way I look at it is that I look better OVER ALL - so I try not to consintrate on the negative but look at the postitive - maybe I will get PS for the arms one of these days. -
Good Morning Gang !!! Karri - you better take care of that foot !!!! This is you mommy talking too you - you don't want any permanent injury to that foot!!! Linda - How cool - No more machines - I hated mine - but again I didn't use it that long.. My trainer says that weight gain from a weekend of fun will be gone in a few days once you get back on track - you are evidence of the - Way to go,... Only 18 lbs to go... Finish line in site - well I don't think we will ever be finished. Like Karri says - we are so use to getting on the scales and seeing drops in weight from all our work - but we are all going to get to that place where the work will be just to keep the scale at the same number - that's sort of hard on us mentally cuz we have been working to wards losing and are rewarded when it drops - what's the reward once we hit goal every time we step on the scale - I guess just that it didn't go up - but you get my drift (I hope) Steph Way to go on the exercise - Well with your total gym you will be building muscles and become strong... Well another groovy day at work - I wish I could be at the gym right now - I feel strong - but Alas I have to work to pay for the gym - so tonite I hope I feel as strong :cool2: CBL :coolgleamA:

Denise - It's so hard to dress our age  some stuff is too young - some stuff too old but with the weight loss we still want to look cute. I tend to dress really classic traditional - assessorising(sp) I have a nice gold & diamond heart necklace that I were 24/7 and my earrings (3 holes 2 have diamonds and I wear gold hoops in the bottom) and I wear a tennis bracelet & gold rope like bracelet - but here is the non traditional side I have my nose pierced and wear a little diamond and a sun tattoo on my ankle - but I won't wear legging and a long top - i just think it's too young for a 53 yr Cathy I LOVE absolutely LOVE being able to cross my legs - i do it 24/7 now - that was the BEST NSV I'm 5'4 and my pants were 18's - tops 22/24 (hate tight clothes - well that has changed too - I no longer have the rolls of back fat) - the smallest I had in my closet was 14's - now I have 10's 1 pair of 8's and even a 6 (total fluke but they say 6 so i bought them) Truly I am a solid 10 in pants - Large tops - I am very aware of the bra fat... -
Beth - My trainer says that when you hit a plateau - that you need to change up the way you eat - If you eat beef - do chicken or fish - like how I eat my starch at night - change it to lunch and eat meat - veggies for dinner - and vary your calories Mon - 1000 - Tues 1200 - Wed 1000 so on and so forth - How's your exercise - Increase the intenstiy... Phyl - you would go too... I really gotta put this in my to do list - WE ARE DOING THE WORK - NO DIFF THAN SOME ONE WHO IS DOING IT on their own... ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Water Cops aka Ruby & Steph I am on my 5th bottle of water:lol::lol: _--------------------------------------------------------------------- Ok not much to report - went to gym - walked 1.5 miles then worked with trainer on arms & back fat - He said I am getting a waist - he is noticing my weight loss  ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Well need to feed the dogs and start my dinner - fish - rice & green beans. CBL

So what's up with the pre surgery diet?
IndioGirl55 replied to mpope's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Your Doctor mostly & Weight - some don't require it - but it's suppose to shrink your fatty liver - if the liver is too fatty they have a harder time placing the band. -
I'm no doc - but to me it sounds like you are too tight. Being too tight can cause problems too - There are no Fill Centers in NYC that you can go to - to have some taken out. My last fill was 1 cc and I had to go back and have .08 taken out - I could barely drink water. I would ck into Fill Centers or call some local doctors to see if they will take you - This was the main reason I chose a local doctor - now if I ever move - I know I am going to have a problem - for some reason other Doc's don't like taking other Doc's patients - Thankfully I don't think I am moving anytime soon (really never ) Good Luck ..

Phyl IMHO - PERSONAL CHOICES are what makes either bypass or lapband work period end of story. Randy Jackson - has put weight back on - the girl from Heart who is banded has put all her weight back on (she was on Idol Gives back) and Carnie Wilson has been gaining too. WLS is only a tool - If the opporunity arises at my meeting in June - I am going to tell them that they need to get us on Oprah - Watch out - I would give her HELL - maybe with the band she wouldn't yo yo so much And it doesn't matter if it's on "your own" - or wls - we all can gain the fricken weight back if we don't do the mental work that goes along with our whold food addiction issues. Oprah is always saying there are issues behind our eating - well I am sorry but her issues must be at the forfront of her life again - cuz she is packing on the lbs. Heck with all the pple she has - shrink, trainers - chefs - you would think she had it made.... She is no diff that us - but she condems us.. Someone get me on the Oprah Show..

When I first joined LBT 5/07 I was in the 50+ thread the most (Prior to knowing my date) they TOLD ME THIS IS ONLY A TOOL - they kept drilling that into me - So I knew going in that this wasn't going to be easy. In fact I figured I would be a slow loser like a lot of them - due to age and all the yo-yo diets - but one of 2 things - They really weren't working their bands or I am an exception to the rule.. But I did have one lady tell me I could still eat cream gravy (made with bacon fat) over rice - even after the band - (this was during my last meal mentality phase that I was making and eating such food ) Well, you know what - NOPE YOU CAN NOT EAT THIS KIND OF FOOD AND LOSE WEIGHT or keep it off. Not even in smaller amounts - that kind of food is just plan bad for you (plus it's a total slider food so I could eat alot and graze all night on it..) Well to say the least this lady doesn't post any longer - so what does that tell you Yep maybe you could eat it once every 2 year - but that whole mind set is gone for me !!! Peaches - I would laser the guys tongue - go jump in a lake buddy... Congrats again - we are so happy that you finally have some restriction and are working your band - Kari - You are correct about meth - it is PUBLIC ENEMY #1 I think the total gym would be excellent for a bum knee - it's alot like the platea machines ... go on qvc.com and you can search total gym and you can watch a video of it in action...

Gadumplin Welcome !!!! Congrats on your date !!! The band will work as long as you do the work - There is an article in the magazine section by Coach Cher - "Is your band failing or are you failing your band" The band is nothing more that a piece of plastic that they put around your tummy - to restriction your portions - which it does once you get proper restriction - but the real work is up to you - to truly commit to making this a lifetime lifestyle change in your eating habits and adding exercise into your life. I use to eat large quantities of food - mostly home cooking but very high fat and was a total slug bug. Now I eat a low fat, mostly sugar free diet - my band has restricted the portions size - and i now go to the gym and exercise - I have even ran 1/4 of a mile on Sunday.. The band does work it's my interior motivator - besides the fact that I finally got it thru my fat head that you can't eat like I did and not exercise and be thin or healthy. -

Sadie Good to hear - It's the oppisite for me - since I don't want to be running to the bathroom when I am out - I try and eat slowly and at home it's just me so I don't think about my manners like I do when I am out. -
Our bands are very fickle - one day you can eat something and the next day you can't - and everyone is diff too. I am lucky I can eat almost any food (haven't tried a sub sandwich just cuz I know that's too much bread) I eat shrimp, scallops, crab, steak, pizza (rarely) steak, chicken, pork, rice, Pasta etc Key to eating - small bites (size of pencil eraser) eat slowly and chew chew. But I have had problems when I eat too fast and don't chew and my bites are too big - old habits can be very hard to break especially when you sit down to a meal and you are hungry...

Hi and Welcome - Happy to have you - this is for all of us. Pb = Productive Burp - It's where your food won't go down gets stuck and comes back in in a burp. Sort of like throwing up without the stomach acids - slime (saliva) & food come back up.. _____________________________________________________________ Chicken can be very hard for most - our bands are really fickle - sometimes I can eat it others times I can't - small (pencil eraser size) bites usually help - this and eating slowly and chewing are always the hardest for me when I am hungry... ____________________________________________________________ 2slimmer - how was the arm surgery - my tummy isn't that bad - spanks does just great - but my arms are awful - I would love to were sleeveless - but what little I have heard the scar can be just as bad as the saggy skin... What was the pain level... ____________________________________________________________ Sadie Careful about being too tight - it's not good on the stomach. How long have you been banded?? ____________________________________________________________ Lynn Just find low calorie foods to eat when you are extra hungry - I eat extra veggies for dinner when I am hungry... -
No the Desert is the Meth Capital.... I think the whole country has the problem !!!!
-
Denise - I couldn't have your job - I would tell them both off - I wouldn't last too long at that job - I am not the most diplomatic person.. Especially when I get frustrated...
-
Denise - I see your ticker is moving :wink2: in the downward motion CONGRATS... I think your last fill must be motivating you - look like it's working :tt2:
