Steph I agree you are to young for a mid life crisis Makes sense - and you know you could delay your trip down here by a month or so? Linda - good to hear from you.. Candice - I just don't know about you - if you wanted salt then you should have just added some to your soup :tt2: Nuts - you are nuts:lol: Why is it that it's so hard for us to follow rules sometimes - I will be craving soup before a fill then afterwards i will be craving the steak - our brains make no sense I think she was someone who posted here not realizing this is the 2007 thread not 2008 thread - being the nice people we are we said Hi - she hasn't been back - must have realized she was in the wrong thread. Ruby that's a great link - at one time I was thinking about getting one but for me i think it would start collecting dust too fast - I Karri our schools arent out til mid June too - just think their schools start in August where ours don't til after labor day.. Glad to help and glad to hear you are doing better. Yep it's so hard to break old habits - I will still take that extra bite that I know I don't need or really want and I know if I sallow it I will pb - so most time i spit it out I know tmi :cursing: Congrats on the 75lb !!!!!

I don't know where you got that idea - it's far from the cure all and I think that a lot of us still think about food I know I do - I miss it big time at times - but I don't indulge - why you might ask? Cuz I feel so much better, I look so much better, I went thru major surgery. I finally had my AHA moment - if you over eat food which is high fat - full of sugar and don't exercise you are going to be fat - there is no way around that. I now eat healthy and exercise - this is what needs to be done in order to be healthy which equates to being thinner. They have banded our stomach (portion control) but they have not banded our brains - IMHO most of our problems with food are in our heads and not our tummies. I can eat dinner - be full and still want to eat more food. So it's still a daily struggle and most likely will be for the rest of my life - it's no diff from any other addiction - it's a life long battle.. I can tell you that it does get a little easier once you have proper restriction but even with that your head is still the thing that is making your food choices. Good Luck...

You I like that idea !!! It's giving props where props are deserved - you have done the work and are attaining your goals LBT doesn't become everyones transfer addiction - some people do have lives and don't have tons of time to post - see me I have no life and LBT is my transfer addiction :w00t::lol: And you and I can say the same thing using diff words and someone will more indenfity with your post than mine so that doesn't make your post better than mine. I am going to have to use your idea Lilmissband :cursing:

I agree 100% -There is nothing anywhere that tells others what to do I guess you could put a footnote- it you like my post and found it helpful - please vote for me... I think it fosters being competitiveness for some and makes a person feel bad when they have made a good post and no one gave you a rep power for it.. But again - this site doesn't really come with instruction on how to post and what things mean either - you have to figure alot out on your own..

I don't think so - only the person who gets the message can - cuz only I can look at my usercp This whole rep thing is a little silly in my opinion.. Heck I didn't know what those scales ment - and heck you and I could vote for each other and get all our Friends to vote for us - so that we have a high rep - but what's that prove... So imho the rep power doesn't really mean that much Newbies can't figure out tickers how are they going to now what those scales mean..

Congrats on your loss too !!! I have eaten pasta and rice with no problems - but that being said it's diff for everyone - to find your post - go to usercp and click on subscribed threads you should be able to find it that way.. On the bread issue - I have it but not often - I eat some carbs/starches but a limited amount.. Ususally only for dinner and maybe on the weekend for a breakfast.. Green how are you doing??? I have been thinking about you - you never post on this thread any more:frown: -

Congrats on your band - do you have gas x strips they help tons Gas pain kept me in hospital and extra day... So ya I feel your pain.. I don't remember having any pain breathing... but you were operated on - but if it continues call your doc to be safe. -

Good morning Ladies KND - Congrats on you 7/8 date.. Karri - You ran - you are on maintenance - you know you can't do it - you will be fine - as you said even OCD you are human :angry_smile: Jackie - Congrats on running - how great - heck though as fast as you were walking you were almost running anyway. Kari - you just may be at your sweet spot - but you seem to eat alot more bread than most of us (well from what pple post anyway) It's not something I do often - mostly cuz I never have bread in the house - GS isn't a sandwich eater - so when I do buy a loaf - I usually end up throwing away 1/2 of it - (i don't like frozen bread) and when I do eat it - its usually toast or grilled cheese (I think I have had 2 in the last 10 months) Steph - It's just that I bring my lunch 99% of the time so I figure that everyone else does too :cursing:. I really control my options - In fact I threw those WW cookies out this morning - I can't eat just one - so in the trash they went. I am alot like Karri - very very displined in what I eat and what I expose myself to - I still don't trust myself at time - I know the band will stop me - but even with that - the amount of calories that I can consume before the band stops me is my concern.. I am a littl OCD too:lol: Kari - on how to place your smiles - put your curse where you want the smile - then click the smiley and it should go where your curser was. I said should sometimes it doesn't - so then I right click on it and move it or copy paste then delete the one that is in the wrong place. Ok I gotta get to butt in gear - got a desk full of files.. Hey Gang I have a full house - Son & family here - They don't have any hot water so I guess they are spending the night?? They haven't driven my crazy yet - but it's only 6:30 I made them carneasda & hamburger patties - spanish rice - bean - I am having 4 oz hb & cauliflower and rice. Water 2 bottle - exercised for 26 minutes - 1.5 miles - my Ipod was dead and the kids where at the house - I can't walk just listening to the t.v. too boring.. Karri - you better get some rest - you are going to get sick... and you are just like me tired = eating. Kari - you are doing excellent on your weight Candice - I could maybe use .02 but don't know if i will. Steph - How come you don't pack your own lunch?? I think we have asked before but I forgot:crying: Ok will ck back later.. almost done with my 3 water

Yes I know that there are concerns about plastic - but like the song goes our Mom's drank, smoked, our cribs had lead paint - and most of us are still around - Heck just breathing the air, eating food (BBQ meats, overdone bacon)is all going to do us in. I just was pointing out that that email wasn't true - that's all - but you are most likely right - plastic will be the new tobacco issues - omw can you imagine all the law suits. We all gotta go some way... Phly my Dasani Water bottle is a b9 - where do I go look that number up at??? -

Kyrsten I am most likely old enough to be your grandma - I have a 17 yr old grandson. So here are a few words of wisdom for an old lady. I was lucky and didn't have to do a 6 month diet before being approved for surgery - so I don't any personal experience on that part. That being said your pre-op diet is no diff than the band - this is a whole new learning experience - doesn't matter if you are pre-op or banded - you have to make healthy food choices. The diff is with the band, once you have restriction you have portion control - but you can eat around it. My personal opinion is that the insurance company was to see if you will adhere to the new lifestyle before they spend the $$$ to have you banded. Even people who are banded don't always succeed - the band is not a guarantee that you will be successful - it's only a tool. Most of the work is up to you. Only you can motivate you - but you can go look at the before and after pictures to see the number of people who have succeeded in getting to their goals. This may help motivate you. But you have to work on you and take one day at a time - today you may eat healthy - tomorrow you won't - but when you give up after that one bad meal - you are giving up on you. What you have to do is say "OK I screwed up - but no more - as of right now I forgive myself for that error - I will start right this second (not tomorrow but now) and move forward - I can do this. You are worth the work that it takes to develop new habits... I wish you all the best - I know how hard the struggle is - but I can tell you that you will feel so much better about yourself once you make that commitment to you to get healthy. Being thin isn't going to make all your problems disappear (this is why you need to to some soul searching on why you over eat) We have used food to soothe and comfort us - you have to find new ways of doing this. It's a journey and I wish you the best while you travel this road to be banded. -
Ya I was wondering too !!!!! I was a 3 now a 31 ??? Can someone please explain - If we are going to have these silly things - then at least we should know how it works.

Denise - I think you are safe - I think most of us do want the troops home so don't think you have to worry about getting flamed or starting a whole nother debate. I totally agree with you I am glad Target doesn't allow solications infront of their stores - I wish all stores had the same policy - If I want to donate to a cause I will - I don't like the begging and to me that's almost what it is.. When I walk by pple asking for donations I tell them I give at church and our local shelter. Susan OMW - I love it !!! -
Good Morning Ladies Thanks Jackie - yep please keep the fingers crossed. I got some great WW oatmeal raisin cookie - but I think they are going in the trash cuz they are too good... I had 2 last night - total calories for yesterday 1027- so was OK on that front - but like Karri said - trigger food that make you want more.. Can't go there.. Steph - If you drank 5 gallons of water fast = ya you could od - but not on 5 bottle I totally get the think you need a fill then when you eat you are tight -- last night didn't eat all my rice or veggie and 99.9 of my meat - left 2 bites. But then had my popcorn and 2 cookies... Well I got a busy day - I need to get my butt in gear - so will CBL have a good day Ladies. Hugs Janet

Hey Gang you have been busy the last few days!!! Saturday had my StageCoach Fest - Saw Bucky Covington, Taylor Swift, the Judds, Dirks Bently, Rascal Flatts then yesterday GS (17) and I spent the day together... There is so much to respond to - but the site is so freaking slow.. I am cooking dinner so only have a few minutes - Denise when do you leave for AZ - how cool that you will meet some other banders from here. What day will you be flying over my area - tell me the time and I will go outside and wave:lol::smile: I am a natural born Desert Rat - Born in Indio CA - but my Mom was from Texas - I love greens - okra - fried chicken -corn bread - cream gravy - grits - backfat/salt pork - anything fried and dripping in butter - all the food that went in to making me fat:tongue: - I made a pot of greens a couple of weeks ago and had some boiled orka in my rice - but as far as the fried and dripping in butter those days are long gone - As to how much you eat - my doc really didn't give me a limit he just said low fat and sugar free - I follow a Weight Watcher eating plan - I don't count points - I do count calories and keep a food diary I had 10 days on each stage and ate about 1 cup of food per meal and toward the time I got my 1st fill I ate maybe 2 cups - but one cup was all veggies. I know alot of people say that they gain during mushies but I didn't. This is where I feel that counting calorie is very important - ya mashed potatoes are a mushies - and aren't too bad as long as you don't load them with butter. I would say mushie stage I was eating about 1 cup of food. I have always kept my calories 900-1200 on average and I didn't start exercising till 6 weeks out - I let my body heal. Jbflorida - You got it - I will !!!! Southerngal -Brenda - I saw you posted we've missed you. Carol - luvrocks - you too I saw you posted but that was 3 pgs back and you all UNDERSTAND THE 50 YR OLD BRAIN - CRS (can't remember sh*t) Ok buzzer going - I am hungry - did 1 hr weight (legs) with my trainer tonite - I am going to be sore in a couple of days - I wanted to work legs tonite - so that they wouldn't be sore for this weekend when I go see my Man Trace Atkins - I wanta be able to walk :thumbup: and DANCE - great NSV when you lose weight - you can dance again !!!!!
