I quit 10 days prior to surgery then couple of days prior to surgery I started again - I told them at the hospital that I had smoke prior to midnight - they still did the surgery - My doc said 3 months but heck I saw him on 5/31 had surgery 7/17 - I still smoke - There are still a few banders who do ... But just like in the rest of socitey we are frowned upon.. It will depend on your doctor - just like with the band everyone gets diff instructions on what to eat and how to proceed from each food stage.

    Phyl - Hugs - Hugs - Hugs to you :eek: I am sorry you are blue. What the heck is going on is it a full moon or something a few of us seem to have stuff going on.. It could also be we aren't soothing ourselves with food any longer !!! I know that I use to use food as medication for bad feelings - now we are dealing with those bad feeling. Steph Ok ya wasted calories :thumbup:- but you were within your budget :tongue: and you didn't eat it all - but wasted:thumbdown: calories - but you are aware of what you did and heck sometimes you need to do that to see that heck - What was I thinking - it didn't taste as good as it use to.. So today - eat healthy make sure you get all your nutrients and next time you "think" you want DQ - just remember this conversation and that you even admitted "it didn't taste that good"

    Thanks Advice ?? Here is what I did and it has worked for me... Eat healthy (low fat sugar free for the most part) 98% of the time - allow for treats 2% of the time and budget them in daily calorie budget 900-1200 a day (vary it) Excercise - slowly and increase speed & intensity 4 - 5 times a week and include some weigh work once you have been cleared by doc. Keep a food diary/log/journel - weigh and measure your food until you know what 4 oz looks like - eat from small plates, bowls & childrens utensiles - drink your Water - get your 60 grms Protein If you slip up - don't give up - just say that your very next food choice is going to be better. If you think your are hungry - really think about it - usually it's just head hunger - find something to distract you - I usually get on the computer LBT has become my transfer addiction :thumbup: Good Luck...

    Good Morning.. Terri - I gotta tell you I have always been happy with a 1/2 loss as long as it's a loss and not a gain - I can tell by my rings if I am retaining water and my eyes - I have little bags that really puff up when I have had too much salt - Suggestion - the day before your weigh in always drink plently of water. Hope your FIL is getting better - I totally get the whole family issues throwing a wrench in your exerices - I did get a little last week but missed somedays due to the drama then being gone for the weekend - but I did walk.. My DIL is doing great all things considered - I have a house full - it's usually just me and my GS now DS DIL 2 GD'S (13 &4) and my 2 fur babies. They ordered pizza last night - but I didn't have any :thumbup: just my fish rice & carrots - Yea me - but truly I have never been a big big pizza eater - usually 1 every six months or so.. Lynn - You don't have to do liquids after your fill - I am supose to do week liq - week mushie - week soft - then regular - since I am not the best person to follow orders:biggrin: - I usually just do a couple days liquids then move to mushie/soft which is what most of my eating consist of.. Denise- Hugs - One day at a time - that's all you can do... That's my mantra anyway - I am really working on not letting things upset me - I have not control - the only thing I have control over is how I react to the sistuation. Yvonne - 12 lbs in 2 weeks - that's good what's abnormal about that. Some weeks you may lose 1 lbs - then the next 2.5 - then .5 then 3.0 Just follow your heathly eating plan and exercise and you will do great - Carol - Hugs and thanks we are all doing quite well considering - I can tell you that Trace is a PERFECT PICTURE OF A MAN... Ok gotta get to work - so will check ya'll later - Good Food Choice and drink your water..

    Good Morning Gang !!!! Linda - I'm with you and Karri - I haven't had anything added since January and I am still tight and I think I have lost like 20+ lbs since then - last night took a big gulp of water and slimed!!! Go figure... Like Karri said I guess we are Lucky :tongue: Karri - Unfilled and pb'd go figure - IMHO even with the band unfilled you still have restriction just from it being in place. Steph - CONGRATULATIONS!!!!! I totally get the shopping - it's fun now.. Kari - Sounds like you are at your sweet spot - good going !!! Phyl Where are you - I am going to have to call you.. Hope everything is OK.. Jackie - How are you doing today???? Ruby - Whats going on with you I am on my 1st water bottle... Peaches - What's up with you girl - no more dairy queen :crying: to report:biggrin: Well, not much to report - exercised last night - kid's ordered pizza - I didn't have any :thumbup: Fish Rice & Carrots for me :eek: - I can't believe it my whole food thoughts are diff now - my GF who I went to laughlin got some fudge - I had a silver and I mean sliver - just didn't really want it.. Well, off to see what I gotta do today... As usual will CBL :wink:

    Can't stop eating!

    I am sorry for your struggles but even with the band you do need will power - the band doesn't make your food choice - you/your brain does - they banded your tummy not your brain. The band is only a tool - it is not the cure all to our issues with food which are mostly mental IMHO. Even after your 1st fill you may be able to eat - most people aren't at their sweet spot after their 1st fill. I would say that you have some work to do - to find out why you are sabotaging yourself. You may want to consider seeing someone about your issue with food, My doctor didn't allow popcorn 2 weeks out - but all doc's are diff. Just cuz you can eat - why are you - you just had major surgery to have the tool to help you lose the weight - but the key word is help - you gotta make up your mind to change your eating to healthy low fat sugar free - You gotta follow the banding rules.     Becky You are most likely done with surgery - I have said my prays for a speed recovery - Let us know how it went Brend & Carol - thanks Thanks to everyone for your good thoughts & prayers My DIL came home and a burglary was in progress and she was stabbed - she got home from the hospital yesterday afternoon. No major organs injured thank God.. Her Mom was here so I went ahead and went to Laughlin and saw my Trace Atkins - OMW what a man... Son & family are staying with me - so I have a house full.. Well I gotta get back to work - just thought I would say hi.. Denise - Hugs to you my thoughts & prayers are with you too during this stressful time..

    Thanks Everyone. Numbegirl Exercise - I started 6 weeks out - walking on treadmill like a 20-25 min mile 1/2 then slowly moved up distant and speed - I am now 1 15-16 min mile on inclines from 3 to 7 and have a trainer 2 x week for weights - I try and do 2 days treadmill - 2 days trainer - but before I got the trainer (which wasn't until March) I would go to the gym 4-5 days a week. Willbefine Thanks !!!! One day at a time - some days it's one minute at a time - I have had my Ah Ha moment and understand that this isn't a diet but a lifetime lifestyle change and will the help of the band it is so do-able... Amy Thanks - I am no diff than anyone else here - I am just a big mouth :biggrin: and love to share my experiences Wannadance Love your name - I can dance again - and you can still enjoy the warm weather foods - just smaller quantities and truly for me all those high calorie foods have lost their appeal - I will indulge every now and then but - really I just don't go there often as I don't want to trigger my addiction again.. I am truly very happy as I have 100% improved the quality of my life - I have tons of energy - Heck last weekend Stagecoach Fest - this weekend Laughlin (Trace Atkins) - Next month Vegas - July Minnesota - A year ago I would not be doing any of these things - I was eating and sleeping my life away - I thought i was happy but I really wasn't - just in denial ... Now I am living again and am loving life... My best to all of you - I am here for you all - If you have a question just ask.. Good Luck everyone !!!!

    Good Morning Gang I am alive and well!!! Thank you for all your prayers & good thoughts!!!! DIL came home from the hospital yesterday around 3:30 p.m. - moving slow but doing really well considering... She was up and about this morning when I left. Jackie - Hugs to you - She is being 16 - is she PMSing?? and like someone said - we take our anger out on the ones closes to us. Trace is one hunk of a friggin man - I could see the sweat on his skin - and omw can the man move. Food really wasn't too much of an issue and had 3 drinks all weekend Gotta ck my desk - CBL :biggrin:

    Hi Gang Thanks for all the props - I haven't read all the post - I just jumped on real quick to let you know where I have been - My DIL interupted a burglar at her house yesterday morning - they were still staying with me and she went home to get some clothes - the guy stabbed her - she is ok - in the hospital - didn't hit any major organs All this happend around 10 a.m yesterday (well that's when I got the call) Anyway - please say prayer for my family !!! Since her Mom is here - (staying with me) I may just go ahead and go to Laughlin tonite (Steph Loved the baby thing :frown:) - I am just sorta numb right now.. I know that even my Food Cop daughter is going to give me a pass on this one cuz of the sistuation - but I had pizza last night for dinner - cuz after all that happend I wasn't up to cooking plus I had not eaten anything all day Well I gotta get some proposals done - and am just a little numb right now.. I will try and ck back later - if you don't hear from me - I went to Laughlin so don't worry ok... Mango - thats for the bbq ad

    Of course Becky I am your LB Buddy :biggrin: I didn't start with my trainer until the 1st of March - I was to embarressed to go up to this hunk of a guy and say - hey you wanta help the fat old lady get into shape - I did only treadmill for 1st 8 months - now 2 days trainer 2 days (most of the time) treadmill. I really feel that the weights and building muscle has really help me this last couple of months - I have never hit a plateau.... The longer you are here and the more you read - the more you will find out that were are all basically the same...

    Becky Advice is eat healthy - low fat sugar free - exercise... Keep a food diary/log - keep calories 900 - 1200. If you want a treat budget your calories to include it. I eat healthy 98% of the time and allow 2% for treats - I still eat out but I now eat 1/4 of what I ate - I still have a sweet every now and then (maybe once a month or every 2) I follow a WW type eating plan as IMHO it's the most well balanced. My problem was portions - not fast foods but too much home cooked high fat foods and sweet binges every few months and I was a total slug bug. You are going to have to work at this - you have to have will power but as the pounds come off - the will power increases cuz you will see the results of your efforts. Also, IMHO don't stop posting - you need the support - when you are hungry - mad - sad - whatever and you need a distraction - get on line and post your heart out - LBT has become my transfer addiction. If you fall down - pick yourself up by your boot straps - and keep going forward - you can't change the past - but you do have control over the future.... You can do this - If I did this anyone can do it - I am no diff than any of you - I am not a superwoman - i am just an every day girl - who has decided enough is enough and I wanted to improve the quality of my life

    Green - It reminds me of that movie with Mary Tyler Moore where she is talking to GF and say - at lease now I lost that 10 lbs but getting cancer is a hell of a way to do it. 133 @ 5'6 sounds a bit thin - well I know that you are wearing your linen baggy pant and staying comfy I hope.. Ya to have to change back to old eating habits would be hard especially if your taste buds are messed up and it doesn't even taste good. Bummer. I keep you in my prayer and think of you often - I look for you in the Rant Section - but haven seen you in a while - I am glad to hear that your treatments will end shortly and that the out look is positive Very Very Very cool - eh!!! (trying my hand at talking Canadian)

You gotta work at it - the band is only a tool - it really boils down to eating healthy and exercising - You have to make the committment to yourself - but OMG let me tell you something - it is so worth it - you are so worth the work Thanks GF - Appreciate the standing ovation - I am on top of the world this morning !!!! Wowox7 - Take the word hope out of your vocabulary - replace it with the word WILL - Postitive Affirmations !!!!! It's not that you can't do it - its cuz you think you can't...
