    Denise TO FREAKING FUNNY - I HAD THOUGHT OF THAT OK - ON FRIDAY YOU WILL HAVE YOUR LUCKY #7 GIRLS SENDING UP GOOD THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS FOR A SAFE SURGERY AND SPEEDY RECOVERY.. Lucky you no more work for the summer - I hate working - I hate my job - same old crap day after day... Hopefully I can retired in the next couple of yrs.

    Denise I crave sweets like every 3 or 4 months but not on a daily basis - I hate the saying "nothing taste as good as thin feels" cuz I think it's bs - food does taste good and sometimes more than a size 8 Since I count calories and I look at a piece of cheese cake being like 900 - I say oh crap it's just not worth it (that's 100% of my calories somedays) .. I love brownies - I have not had one since being banded - one night I was craving them and so I had a box in the pantry - i took out 2 tblsp of mix and mixed it with a little Water and ate it - I got the taste without all those calories then threw it away.. I bought a reese pb cup a few weeks back 210 calories for both pieces - I ate one on Friday and the other on Saturday - now if I had bought a bag of them - I could have eaten them all - so I didn't - just one serving over 2 days - Healthy Choice Fudgecicles - they are sf and good - I have a new trick with them - I have the cake cones (left over from when son was staying with me) I take the fudgecicle and cut off pieces and stick them in the cone (25 calories) and then I have an ice cream cone for 105 calories. I guess for me the sf double choc pudding - healhty choice fudgecicles and dannon light & fit yogurt & fruit will now satisfy my sweet tooth. On grandson's bday I made him cupcakes - I allowed myself 2 (over 2 days) but that friday they were calling my name - so I put them in a freezer bad - said here put these in your room so I can't eat them.. Avoidance and # of calories are the 2 reasons I don't succumb to my sweet tooth - I like the way I look and feel - and if I start eating sweets I am going to go back to being fat and I don't want that. So like an addict I just don't start - and if I do - it's just a tad and then no more and if it's in the house and I can't say no - then it goes in the trash... Do I miss it ya - sometimes - I miss food still - I miss eating high fat/calorie foods - but now that I read lables - see how much something is - it's just not doable anymore - my meals are usually around 200 to 250 with 2 Snacks at 100 so that's 950 a day (approx)- some days more some days less - but I spend my calories wisely...

    Ok Ruby - you said the word - excuses :thumbup: - so now no more - do your ab work - I don't like it either - trainer has me do 3 sets of 15 on a slant board at the end of my workouts.. I can't say I have ever been sore - but i do do them... Your guy might not be as expensive - and since he is just starting again maybe he will be cheaper - If you can - do it for one month - it is a great motivater and you will learn the proper techinque ... Karri Have a safe trip - enjoy your time off - who are you haveing coffee with anyone I might know?? Have a great visit with your bro & dad. I understand about using your vacation to recup from surgery - I have 25 days pto each year - and don't know if I want to use 2 weeks doing nothing but recuping - We have a bid on one of the ranches and if it does sell I will have $$$ for PS - but afraid of the pain and becoming a ps junkie :wink2:

    Jill On the ticker problem - you can still follow the instructions even thought it's closed - you just can't post there but those are the instructions - you make your ticker then copy the codes that are at the bottom and paste into your signature - I haven't done it since last May - so not a big help - I just know where the instructions are - follow them and see what happens Jill - I really beleive that you can do this - I have and I am no diff than you - the band is a great tool - and as long as you know that going in and you have your mind in the game - you can make this a lifetime lifestyle change - it's not that hard - it's work but as i am always saying it's doable work.. You will be in my prayers on the 10th for a safe surgery and speedy recovery.. Let me know about the ticker issues.

    Lynn- I hit my sweet spot on fill #2 and only had .02 added in January. Make sure you take your vit w/iron and good going on food choices and portions :thumbup: Long2bthin - Congrats on your date 6/5 will keep you in our prayer for a safe surgery & speedy recovery...     Ruby You still need to do Ab's - it's not going to hurt your port as you are healed and the more muscle you have the better the tt will be Congrats on becoming and exercise fiend :frown: Trainer cost for me was $60 a session for once a week or $50 a session for twice a week and now I have a training buddy so It will be $30 a session for twice a week. So right now $240 a month - which isn't cheap but cheaper than $400 I was paying and It's worth it to me - I am fortunate enought to have a little inheritance that pays for the extras so I will continue with him and my new found buddy for as long as I can. I love my trainer and the motivation that he provides - I have become a lot calmer since I have been going too him - don't ask me why - even with all the family drama I have had - I gotta say I have been pretty calm - I haven't been stressing like I use to... Denise - Yes - you still aren't giving us a date - we want to know when you are going and why didn't you go today??? Nichole - Great Picture - School proud of you - Way to go !!! Chim - Are you still working 2 jobs?? Ok gotta get to work - CBL :thumbup:

    Karri You are so much better at explaining stuff than me - right on this is what I was trying to say in a hurried fashion... In fact tonight my trainer was telling this same thing to my new exercise partner you gotta eat to lose weight.. We are all really shocked to hear that - we think we can't eat - it's that we can't eat crap - good food not crap.. Ok it's 8:30 dinners done and I need to veg for a bit before bed So talk to you all tomorrow - sweet dreams xoxoxox janet

    Denise I posted there tonite and I responded to one of your post on the I did it thread I thought?? I have been super busy at work haven't even really posted as much on my Lucky #7 thread either. Between work - home (have my GD for another 2 weeks till schools out) plus my GS - 2 dogs - dinner - family issues - work - gym - haven't had much time.. But am still around :drool:- I didn't get on the computer at all yesterday - a freind/ my broker stopped by on his way to AZ and then I had to catch on my Lost.. I understand what you are saying my original goal was 170 (never thought I would make it )- then moved it down to 160 - then 150 - back to 160 cuz I was afraid I wouldn't make 150 (but heck 3 lbs to go) - and I think I will be happy - I am in 6's & 8's and Medium tops - so I am good. I'm like you my arms are the worst for wear infact talked to my doc about it and he is going to give me the name of a lady dr in beverly hills - we have a bid on one of our properties and if goes thru - I will get my arms done for sure and maybe the other stuff - who knows - I don't like pain - tummy not to bad - got grandma boobs - but heck I am a grandma - with a good bra they look good.

    Marie Congrats on getting back on track and taking responsiblity for your choice (good & bad) - if you need a kick - or a whack - you have come to the right place I was so very lucky - my 50+ ladies drilled this into me - it's just a tool while I was doing my research on the band - so I knew going it - it wasn't the magic cure all to our issues with food. I think that we will have to work at this for the rest of our lives - it should bcome a little eaiser along the way - but we always will have to be cautious not to allow ourselves to back slide slowly in to our addiction. Well I really gotta go feed the dogs and me - lbt - my transfer addictions:biggrin:

    Kathy - Ask your doctor these questions for a truly medical answer - I know of one person who slipped - got an unfill and then band went back into place - I would think coughing when you are 1st banded might cause a problem since your stomach hasn't healed yet - but i am not a doctor You can post this question in the complication thread - they might know more there - but really your best bet is to ask your doctor..     Becky Sounds like you are mushie to soft stage - I am a big fish eater (usually 5-6 nites a week for the last 10 months) It's very soft - I put a little olive oil in the baking dish - roll my catfish filet (4 oz) in it - and sprinkle with garlic powder salt and pepper - bake 20 min 350 - salmons good to and tillipa - I will sometimes add El Pato (spice mex tomato sauce) on top or paremesan cheese and every now and then I will coat it with egg beaters then roll it in corn meal - spray with pam and bake - it's almost as good as fried - I use eat beaters instead of real eggs - 1/2 the calories and just as good for scrambled - I will add onion & bell peppers to it and a little ham & cheese for an omlet - Also on the mushie stage I think lunch meats were allowed - oscar mayer turkey 5 slices like 45 calories and the same with the ham... On the mushie stage I ate potatoes - instant and made it will 100% skim milk no water to boost the protein - red potatoes are the best ones to eat lower calories (less starch than the reg bake potatoes) Exercise was hard for me - still is sometimes - I tried the morning gym -but I have to be to work at 7:30 and to get to the gym by 5 am I have to get up at 4:30 - did it a few times in the begining when I was only working out for 1/2 but I found I was beat by the time I got to work - again this was in the beginning when I was 240 - I could do it now and may when it gets hotter - since i have a trainer 2 x week - i could go one morning early and then my usual saturday morning - hey thats a good ideal... I may just have to try that tommorrow morning (well will really depend on what time I get to sleep :drool:) On the days I don't have the trainer - I have to talk myself into going or should I say I can't let myself talk me into not going - Saturday morning is no problem cuz I am fresh and don't have to be anywhere .... I would love to be retired and go to the gym every morning when I am fresh & strong... Everyone else Hi - sounds like you are all doing good - I have been reading just haven't had time to post... Been super busy at work and it's 7:20 and need to go start dinner - ck back later..

    Linda Congrats on the size 12 - way to go Is the shower you are giving personal or house hold stuff - I would let her gf's give her the personal shower and you the household kind - Well that's unless you want to see all the emotion lotions and sexy stuff her gf are going to give her - as a mom - I don't think that my kids are having sex (got 3 grandkids - but my son will always be my baby tmi for me:lol:) Game - you can get books at the party store for that stuff (ideas for games)- it's been ages since I have been to a bridal shower maybe Jackie - Steph - Karri might have been to some lately... Well just got back from the gym - my sessions are now at 5:30 and I have another girl who I am working with so cuts my cost in half - good thing cuz my stupid pool heater came on all by itself and my gas bill was $229 - it's usually 35 - I just about died. The pool guy shut the gas off all together so it won't happen again - this happened once before... Plus summer coming and electric is going to be going up and the price of gas $4.11 on Saturday - $50 buck for 1/2 tank... I have a hemi it eats gas... Well it's 7 gotta feed the dogs and start my dinner - cbl :drool:

    Patti Good for you on getting back on track - not every addict succeeds their first time - we all will fall down - but what we have to remember is to quit making excuses and do the work - Warning - some real tough love here and please know I am talking about myself too and this is not directed at anyone - but you know what we are lazy - we are cry babies - oh it's too hard I can't lose the weight - I am always hungry (80% of the time it's head hunger really - or if you like our addiction calling us - we need the food to soothe our feelings) With our band we no longer have that excuse - we had major frickin surgery to get the tool that we needed to help us achieve our goals To all of you - prior to being banded I had just plain given up on losing the weight - convinced myself I liked who I was and if no one else did - too bad. But you know what - I really didn't like me - I didn't like sleeping my weekends away - I didn't like that when I went on my cruise with my sister in Feb 07 that it was too far to walk to the other end of the ship where her room was - everything i did was with the least amount of exercise possible - I joked at dinner that I was eating my way across America. I hated it when I went to Mazatlan (sp) and could barely walk back to my room cuz there was an incline and I would get so winded - I would get where I was going and sit on my ass until I had to get up and walk back.. Same thing going to a concert - would get to my seat and hope I didn't have to go pee. I was a fat slug bug. I would break out in a sweat just to vacuum the house - my feet where always killing me - i wore nothing but flats & tennie shoes... Now - I am up at 6 on Saturday Mornings at the gym by 7 til 8 home then showder and then out and about until 5 or 6 - I went to Laughlin a couple of weeks ago and walked around - my gf laughed and said before I would have driven the car to the hotel next door (which was true) Ladies - you will feel 100% better once that weight comes off physically and mentally - you will add years to your life - the quality of your life will improve Yes it's work but you all really can do it - stay on top of your fills - make good food choices - exercise - just one day at a time It's not that hard to give up eating junk - you think it will be but it's not After you get the weight off you can allow for treats again - you can eat a cookie or 2 - it's not those one or 2 Cookies that got us fat - it was cuz we ate the whole damn bag... and if you can't stop at one or 2 then just don't start - Ok I gotta leave for the gym - trainer day - arms and then walking on the treadmill..     Denise Put your ticker back up and get in more calories - yes I said it - I vary mine - one day 800 next 1000 so on and so forth. I know that most of you look at Karri & Me as we are at goal weight and think why them (it's ok that is a human - I know that you are all happy for us but if the shoe was on the other foot I would be jealous) - I don't know what to tell you - I am shocked to - but what I gather from everyones post - Karri & I are pretty ridge in what we eat and don't eat (Karri more so than me) but heck - for the last 10 1/2 months I have eating about 100 tons of catfish most nights for dinner where everyone else is eating what they cook for family - I don't have much going on and don't go out to eat very much or am I at parties etc where I have a lot of temptations. I have rarely ever gone over my calorie budget and I work my ass off at the gym and Karri triples my workouts - I log my calories and I do eat I really think that is the key - eating - I know it sounds funny but you have to fuel your body with good fuel high octane stuff and not crap. Exercise - weight training and building muscle does burn more calories back in April I wanted to lose 16 lbs before I went to Vegas - I really didn't think it was possible so gave up - well you know what I am 3 lbs away from that goal and I have 3 weeks to get there. Who knows if I will but I am alot closer than I ever thought I could be... Just ask Ruby increasing the intensity of your workouts will help facilitate your weight loss (as long as you don't eat more to compensate for the extra exercise) Phyl - You haven't gotten your exercise like to did here when you were going to the pool all the time. You Wii is good but I bet the water stuff burned more calories - and we know your body might not lost much in May but in June you will lose like 10 lbs all at once.

Brez Warning - I give tough band love The reason that you have gained is that you ar choosing the wrong kinds of foods and aren't exercising. Why have you only one fill in 4 1/2 months - I got my first fill 6 weeks out and then went pack in like 1 month for my second. First you need proper restriction for your tool to work (and that's all your band is a tool) then you gotta make healthy food choices and exercise. Amount of food will depend on the types of food you are eating - here is my typical menu Breakfast Yogurt & 1/4 c granola - or weight control oatmeal - or egg sandwich on light bread or a Fiber one bar. lunch 1 cup - one pot wonder (meat veggie cooked together in one pot - i just throw things together - ground turkey - cabbage - onion bell pepper soy sauce garlic-eggplant) Left overs - today ch thigh & 3/4 collard greens usually 3 or 4 oz of Meat & veggies dinner 4 oz baked fish 1/2 c rice and 1/2 - 3/4 veggies with i can't believe its not butter spray Snacks 100 calorie pack popcorn - 1 cup fruit - sf healthy choice fudgecicle - dannon light n fit yogurt - sf pudding I go to the gym 4 times a week minimum. I keep a food diary You gotta choose healthy foods that are lower in fat - sugar free and limited carb and exercise Losing weight is all about calories in vs calories out - 3500 is 1 lbs = you gotta reduce your calories by 500 a day to lose 1 lbs a week. So start logging you food - dailyplate.com - or fitday.com and then you will see how many calorie you are eating and where to make the cuts You can do this - you really can - it takes work and discipline - but with the help of your tool it's doable. Come on you are worth the extra work - you will feel 10 yrs younger once the weight starts coming off - you will have more energy Make the commitment to your self right this second - from this moment forward I am going to make good choices - no more excuses as to why I can't do something - BUT ALL THE REASONS WHY I CAN!!!

    I haven't any ps yet - my tummy isn't great but not too bad - boobs - well they weren't great even fat - arms are what bug me the most - I live in the Desert 120 in the summer - would love to were sleevless but don't. I am considering ps on my arms - I wear a spanx type garment for tummy have a good bra and am over 35 so no mini skirts:lol: The saggy skin issue is DNA - age & how long you have been overwieght. I rather have the skin issue than the weight - in clothes it's hidden (saggy skin) - clothes don't cover up fat

Congrats on your date:biggrin2: Yep - Tuff Band Love - is what I give - some like it some don't - I have been told I was mean - but I don't think I am (my operative word is love) I get it I am a fat chick too.. I am no diff than anyone here - our fatness is what unites us. I believe that we have to work at this we have to deal with our food issues - the job is more mental than physical. It's doable.

    Candice Yep before I would have eaten a whole lot more - I would have drowned my popcorn in butter (did do 3 squirts) I would have eaten all the bread that they brought (had a pinch) I think i am trying to come down with something - chest a little tight and got a headach... Congrats on the scales moving - and I totally agree that keeping track of your eating and exericse is the key to being sucessfull..

    Suggestion - weigh in only once a week - 23 lbs in 6 weeks is very good - and can't expect to lose 3.83 lbs every week - I am happy when it shows 1/2 lbs loss - we didn't gain over night we aren't going to lose it overnight - it takes time - but if you work it (make healthy food choices) it is going to come off - you need to find an exercise that you can do with your back problem - can you walk - that's all I did for the 1st 7 months was walk on the treadmill Lynn as you are finding out this is more about the head work than anything else - Suggestion - Don't buy the crap you like to snack on - got throw it all away (better in thee (the trash) than in me) and buy only healthy low calorie foods to eat Becky - IMHO the protein drink theroy isn't really good - protein drinks have calories too - it's liquid and flows right through the stomach -Real food is going to keep you full longer - Imho I would just make sure that you make some lowfat s/f stuff for your upcoming party and limit yourself on what you are going to eat.. Plan Plan Plan You can have that tiny piece of cake but it has to be within your calorie budget and what are you doing for exercise -Good that you are joinging the gym - if you over eat you got to over exercise to counter the extra calories..' I see that you are going w/your sister - For some the exercise buddy thing is good but if for whatever reason she can't make your exercise date - don't let that be an excuse that you can't go alone.. Great planing - that's the ticket and the exercise - I know it's harder when you aren't in your normal routine -but we all have to find ways to take care of us while on vacation - In a couple weeks going to sisters for a few days - thinking about how I will get my exercise in - will ramp it up a little before I go and when I am there will just take some long walks.

    Good Morning Gang.. Sorry I didn't post yesterday - got up at 6:11 gym @ 7 - walked 3.5 miles then did about 20 minutes of weights (arms) (at the gym for like 1:30) came home showered and left for around 10:15 to p/u gf and be at the show by 11 - It was good loved the begining but the middle got a little long and end was good. Then we went shopping - gf needed a bra - I got a couple pair of bermuda shorts (they hit below the knees) skimmers or mardas - who knows what they are called but they are checkered - we then went to Outback for dinner - Had a little bloomin onion - the whole cup of clam chowder and royal something talipia - OMG the sauce on it was to die for - had shrimp crawdads & mushrooms in this sauce over the fish - I ate about a quarter of it - oh ya at the show had a small popcorn - I really felt like i ate too much food - it's funny about that isn't it - we really didn't but we feel that we have when we eat our of our comfort zone. Ya the caloires where higher - I guesstimated 1230 yesterday - which isn't bad. I am washing clothes - dogs need a bath gotta pay bills. Didn't make exercise - but will all that I have had to deal with this month being 1 day short isn't bad Karri - Be strong on your run - have fun and can't wait to see the pictures. Ok off to read the paper - cbl:tongue:

    Jill LOL - No you want to be like me now:biggrin2: - not when you grow up - you want to get rid of your fat now - not when you are in your 50's You want to enjoy your life as a healthier person and not do all the damage that obesity cause - get healthy now,. It's really funny when you grow up and look back on your life - the thing that your parents told you are things that you now tell your kids - (advice and reason) what they/we are trying to to is help us/them not learn lifes lessons the school of hard knocks - If we would have just listened to all their advice - life would have been a tad eaiser - but I guess if we don't experience it then we wouldn't learn

    Hey gang sorry I am late - I was super busy at work - read but didn't post. Then went grocery shopping after work - had steak for dinner - but it came back up - it was tbone - I am just going to have to stick with the fliet migon from costco. Tomorrow - going to show with GF to see the Sex in the City movie- lunch and whatever.. Body Image - I see a thin person in the mirror - but I am not looking in a mirror 24/7 I am looking out of the same eyes that I was looking out of 97lbs ago - I still am a fat chick in my head - I think tht we will always have this problem - if not always for a very long time - this is why alot of obese pple end up gaining their weight back - cuz they don't see the thin person that they have become.. Phyl - I remember that stuff it wasn't bad - DH doesn't understand that us women need more than 2 pairs of shoes. I agree Walmart does have a good selection of plus size clothes for us age appropreate girls - I don't like super thin material either Oh gang I am tired - even though it was a short week - it was a busy one - so I am off to bed - will ck in - in the morning either before or after gym sweet dreams xoxoxo Janet

Ya I feel pretty damn good if I do say so my self :wub: My Trainer is a guy - x-body builder - I LOVE HIM - He isn't anything like Jillian - I could never work out with someone like that - I don't take well to pple getting in my face :tt2: Gym, good food choices -you will be booking that trip to Hawaii real soon..
