    Thanks Alice - Drama, it never ends... We go for a while without it then in rears it's ugly head. I am not one to feel guilty about taking a day off every now and then - life happens - we have to adjust - it's just like eating something you shouldn't - no use it beating yourself up about it - you can't change the past all you can do is move forward. This is my philosophy in general about life. Realization is key.. Holding on to the past isn't going to help but hurt in the long run.. Great on getting exercise in before work - I would have to get up at 4:30 to get it in - and that's just to early for me.. Well, gotta get my butt in gear (I'm at work :smile:) I will ck back later.. Have a good day ladies - good food choices and drink your Water :tongue2:

    How's everyone tonite?? Good I hope... Your mentor was an exercise flake tonite:redface: - Had graduation last night - late dinner and some drama after we got home (between grown son and gs oh my I am glad my son doesn't live close anymore - it just tells me that it's right for me to have my grandson living with me) - so I only had about 4 hrs sleep - I am up at 5 - so I flaked on the gym tonite - But will get there tomorrow - Promise This is what we all have to learn is that life does happen and we have to work around it. I use to really push myself a little too hard in the exercise dept - then I realized (after discussion with Uncle) that if I tried to keep up that pace I would just burn myself out - so I slowed it some and still increased the intensity but not with the all or none mentality... Well, I am off to the couch and to bed by 9 (45 minutes) so talk to you all tomorrow.. Jill had surgery today - so keep her in your prayers/thoughts.. TTYT :smile2:

    Hey 50 & over gang We have a new spot

    On the night's that I don't go to the gym - I will be hungry - tonite I had these cracker 6 for 130 spread with 1 tblsp of light cream cheese and it held me over til dinner - Last night had the blacked sea bass - only ate 1/4 of it and tonite had the left overs - but took 2 bites too many and guess what happen - yep it came back up.. :smile2: ate about 4 oz - must be the stress or being tired - was out late last night with graduation dinner - then son & gs got into it when we got home so had a little drama and I didn't get to bed until after midnite (i am up at 5 a.m.) - I am glad that my ds has moved away - he can be such an AH (CAPTIAL A$$)

    Hey gang Phyl It looks like you have makeup - I understand the earring thing - I don't go anywhere with out them... I have like 5 diff hoops that I wear I don't know where my camera is - am too tired to look for it - should be on my desk. Ruby - Congrats on the cake front - I am really tired today - I know I would have no control - I ate my sea bass from last night about 4 oz but 2 bites too many - it came back up.... I know timi sick smily but cute - I want ice cream - thankfully I have some sf fudgecicles that I will be eating in a few. You are doing really great on the exercise front - again I am too tired I flaked today - but have trainer tomorrow so will go. Karri - What did the doc say about the hyperventaling??? Thanks on the 4's but again a fluke it's just that style of pants - but still love that they say 4... I have bagged up my 12's & 10's - I don't want to keep them cuz then I could slip back into them - I llike where I am at.. Denise - How are they hanging now Hope you are feeling better.. [/url]

    Phyl - Love your new picture !!!! I booked my trip for our Lucky #7 Mall of America Trip !!!!!! I leave Palm Springs 6:10 change planes in Denver (never been to that airport) I will get in to St Paul 1:18 p.m. on Friday 7/25 and Leave St Paul 2:06 on Monday 7/28 and get back to Palm Springs 7:09

    Karri I knew the bday & tt date:biggrin2: - I won't be back from vegas til sunday evening so I will ck in then to see how you did (I don't have a laptop :thumbup:) Congrat on the 1/2 lbs and no bigger number - I am glad that you are getting more stable in your weight & calorie issues - I know the stress it was causing you... I know that you need to get it stable before surgery and not lose any more.. This morining my unoffical weight ws 151.5 - I really want to be 150 by the time I go to vegas - I really want to say I lost 100 lbs... I am totally fine where I am now - I have 6's & 8's and even got 1 size 4 it's those jeans that I got in my 1st 8 and then my 1st 6 and now 4 - they were only $7.99 last pair on sale last weekend - so I can say I have a 4 :smile: love it... Camping sounds more fun than my long drive (7-8 hrs) up north - but it will be good to see my sister - she hasn't seen me since November so she will be shocked.. Schools here don't do anything the last 2 weeks of school... Ok I really got to get to work ... :thumbup:

    Karen - Ya I am not much into pain either - I think that's what scares me the most - but I really dislike my arms - so we will see - and getting off your exercise schedule - ugh then it's so hard to get back into it - I feel your pain. Charlene you will be fine bythe time your gb makes his/her entrance Jb congrats on the 30 lbs !!!! Denise - I don't think popcorn is bad - as long as it's not covered in butter and it's a whole lot better than eating candy or potato chips Diane Welcome - I don't know where they got that info - most pple have the other problem (can't go) ... Hey Lynn - congrats on the weight loss - yes my doc won't give me a fill if I have lost weight between appointments. Phyl also does the water exercise - she loves it... Good job

    Lucky # Sevens- July 07 Bandsters

    :tongue:Good Morning Gang I had GD graduation last night - then dinner (black sea bass so good have 1/2 for dinner tonight) so it was a long night - I didn't get my training in - time line just wouldn't allow it - I gotta go tonite and do my cardio - but am really tired - didn't get home until after 10:30 then had some drama (between son & GS) so I didn't get to bed until after midnite. I need to make resesrvations - where are we staying - i gotta do it in the next day or 2 - Phyl - what's the name of the hotel Whos going - phyl - linda - steph - peaches - me - Jackie???? Phyl - that 1/4 lbs will be off by this afternoon - heck I got on the scale last nite 154.5 - this morning 151.5 - none of these count but just goes to show that our weights fluctuate so much.. Linda- you really have a full plate - by 6/15 my house will be back to just me and GS and my 2 little babies - I can't wait... I don't like a lot of commontion - I have been out of my routine for about a month now and I can't wait til it get back to normal - this weekend going up north to take gd home - her other gm is coming - then next weekend home - then 6/27 leave for vegas. then maybe 7/4 back up north - who knows - I am playing that one by ear and see how I feel - Oh the thing about your sis - how sad that she missed dd graduations - I am glad she is doing better. Ruby - great on the exercise and looking at that cake - you are a stronger woman than me - I don't pig out like I use to but - i still will take little slivers here and there... Which as we all know adds up... Kari Yep it's been a little quite here - last yr at this time we were using up 10 pages in one day Jackie Hey girl - we miss you..     Good Morning Ladies... Long 50 yr old I was 52 when banded and was back to work on day 6 (desk job) I think we are all so very diff - heck I have read about a girl in her 30's who was home for 2 weeks :smile: So chickie you are doing great for a 50's girl:biggrin: Cathy I too had the runs for quite a while after surgery - so many have the other problem :thumbup:- I finally took some imodiam (sp) and it stopped... Lulu I had heard that curves had changed - I went a few yrs back Just keep up the exercise and food journel - it will come

Do the work and you will be in onelander by your son's wedding :biggrin2: Yep I eat popcorn every night - it's a slider food for me (slides right thru the band) Yvonne - Yes you WILL do this... Hey there Denise - We are the popcorn girls Hey Ingyrob - I remember your name - glad to have you back - my reading eyesight sucks - cant see crap without my readers - but I have a 15x mirror and just looking in a reg mirror i see my bags :w00t: the price we pay for our age Judy - there can be some heated discussions here (LBT)- but don't let that that keep you from the rest of the site - I avoid conflict as much as possible - I have enough crap in my everyday life without adding to it - so you don't have to worry about it here - I have never seen a heated disscussion on this thread since I joined last may... Karen, I have seen you around the board - I think I have even read your ps journey - did you get your arms done?? That will be my 1st surgery - my tummy isn't great but not that bad - I hate my arms... 2lbs - in the past it would have been 20 gain and don't they say that all the swelling doesn't go down until like 6 months out.. Sounds like you are on the right track with all that's going on.. We are here for you. Belated HAPPY BIRTHDAY Lyn -- I love my 50's !!! Charlene - Didn't your doc give you anything what to eat drink for each stage - my doc gave me a big binder with foods for each phase. Joan Glad you are back on track... Les - Congrats 105 lbs that's great Gwenn - you can talk about anything you want - this is a support group - it doesn't matter if its about you hubby, kids - co workers - food - exercise - if you need to talk - talk -we are here for you. Exercise is great it has helped tons.. Gerio - Yes you can break the habit - you weigh once a week - and I know of other who might not lose each week - but then in once week they lose like 5 lbs.. Good food choices - exercise it will come off .

    Jill - You will be in my prayers tonite & tomorrow for a safe surgery and speedy recovery :sad_smile: If you got the ones I suggested yep I took a measuring cup - filled it to one cup and poured it in and it was 1 cup. Long - When I 1st joined WW in mid 80's it was still the exchange plan 3 breads - 4 Protein etc - I have done points once - but still think in the exchange plan - I haven't been to an actual meeting in years - a few yrs ago we all chipped in and joined ww online and had an office thing going on - but then I went on vacation and no one followed the program :biggrin: cuz I was gone :wink_smile: I think the core plan is alot like the old exchange plan but not sure - I have read where sometimes WW doesn't like WLS people - you can do the online - or just go and if they look at you funny tell them with the look to go jump in a lake :thumbup: Congrats on the 14 lbs -:thumbdown: Glad you are feeling better....

    Lana - Sorry but I can't take away your hunger :tongue2: Suggestion thought call your doc and ask if you can have a small high Protein low fat meal (dinner for me - I called and asked got ok'd for 4 oz salmon & salad) But again my preop wasn't full liquids - oatmeal - shake - Soup and Protein Bars Realize is a lapband - I have an AP (allergan) band which I think the majority have - but I have read that some do have the realized - i don't care the brand or how much fill I have all I have cared about is that it works :smile:

Phyl - You did good on the food issues - 1 piece of choc is what a normal person would do - not really you did better :tongue2: Kari - Too skinny - give her a hug - My son is here (he was/is the company) asked me if I needed an intervention on my weight loss - said nope - 3 lbs and I am done :biggrin2: I have 8th grade graduation tonite - it's messing with my exercise - graduation is 7 but gd has to be there at 6;15 - plus you gotta get a seat - may just go exercise for til 5 30 - can't beleived i am saying I hate missing my exercise

    Hey Gang - Sorry I wasn't here since early Saturday - but I had company and I will be gone next weekend to see my Sister ... Yep I am a young Grandma :tongue2: I was a young mom (16) I have 3 grandkids GS 17 (he lives with me) 2 GD'S 13 & 4. 13 yr graduates tonite from 8th grade - so doubt you will hear from me tonight.. Cathy - You sound like you are doing great... Long2bthin - Your body is talking to you - take it easy - some of us recover faster than others - no rhyme or reason. Linda - I had only been to doc a couple of times in the past 5 yrs - mostly for colds - oh I did get put on high blood pressure meds - but that's it. Call your insurance and tell the the situation and see what they say, Alice - You are getting exercise - more that you use to most likely - Just keep plugging away - each week it will get easier.. DJ - I am here for everyone - Yep I have done very well, my doc calls me his star patient - I am working at this - it's not always easy - even now old habits want to rear their ugly heads - The band really does make a hard job just a little easier.. Lulu Congrats on your 42 lbs !!! What are you eating (kinds of food) - I did curves for a minute a few yrs back - 1st increase your walking - how fast are you walking (regular walking or treadmill walking) On the curves issue - do you feel like you have worked out at the end of it ? My Menu - BF - Dannon lite n fit yogurt with 1/4 lf granola - or weight control oatmeal or 1/2 c egg beater with veggie Lunch - One pot wonders (what every you have - meat & veggies) Ground turkey (white) onion bell pepper cabbage soy sauce cooked in one pot - or shred chicken zucchini onion Bell pepper - cooked in one pot with tomato sauce - sometimes a sandwich made on lite bread - Dinner - 4 oz baked fish (catfish) with either garlic salt pepper - or topped with Parmesan cheese or El Pato (spicy mex tomato sauce) - 1/2 c rice - 1/2 to 3/4 c veggies with can't believe it's not butter spray. or turkey meat loaf (white turkey meat) 1/2 c potatoes - veggies Snacks Lite string cheese - 100 c pack popcorn - sf healthy choice fudgecicle - sf choc pudding - dannon lite n fit yogurt - fruit I eat a WW style - I do have carb/starches but they are limited. I suggest that you keep a food diary (dailyplate.com or fitday.com) you may not be logging every bite or under estimating your calories. Ok gang - I gotta ck my desk - I will ck back later - If I forgot to answer a specific question - please ask again - and I will answer,,, CBL :smile:

    Hey there Gang How is everyone doing today??? Just got back from the gym - 3 miles in 50 minutes - 3.5 speed 7 incline and 4.0 speed on 3 incline. Then 15 minute of arms on the weights. Gotta jump in the shower and take GD shopping for 8th grade graduation on Monday - she needs white pants. I just wanted to ck in on my girls and see how everyone was doing today.     Yvonne - Quit with the negative thinking - PLEASE STOP!!! When those thoughts enter your brain - stop and repeat the phrase - I AM GOING TO GET TO MY GOAL - I AM GOING TO BE A LB SUCCESS STORY - I AM GOING TO DO THIS . Yes it can take a couple days even a week or 2 for the fill to really settle in - who know why - our band are very fickle and diff for each of us It's not just about portion size but calories in the foods that you are eating are you keeping a food diary/log - are you exercising. Are you getting on the scale every day or just once a week... Denise - as you know nights are the hardest for me too - I had pizza last night too 1 piece - could have eaten more - but as you said not the worlds best choice calorie wise - so limited myself to 1 piece - but did have 100 c popcorn & fudgecicle for dessert Checkers - Congrats on your weight lost - I don't burp - but sometime do get gassy (the other end:lol:) Becky Good job on eating healthy - be patience the weight didn't come on overnight and it's not comming off overnight either - you too stop with the negative thinking - this will work as long as you do the work (which you are) it is a process - some people won't lose for a week or two then drop 5 lbs in one week - just keep plugging a way - just like the little train that could - you will succeed..

    Lucy12 Don't get on the scale every day - pick one day a week that is going to be your weigh in day - that's the only day that your weight counts What are you eating (what stage are you Clear liquids or full liiquids) I think that ordering the books is a good idea - it will help keep your motivation up and get some insight as to our addiction for food. Also have you ck'd out the food thread here on lbt - it has good receipts for all stages - ck it out.. I am a tummy sleeper too - I was able to sleep on my side and then tummy not long after surger - I really can't remember the exact time frame but I remember getting in bed slowly geting on my side and would stay there. I would say that I could do that about a week out (which you are) Your port site is going to hurt the longest (really discomfort more than pain) 2-3 week - I was on full liquids once I got home from the hospital and cream of potato Soup was my life saver. You can do this - it's not easy - but it's doable Each day it does get better... Hugs

    Alice & Everyone 1st thing we are going to do is take the word's HOPE & TRY out of our vocabularies and replace them with I WILL - I am a firm believer in positive affirmations - It's not that you can't do it - it's cuz you think you can't that's stopping you. If you put your mind to it you can achieve anything... You will be successful !!!! I haven't heard of those flat out breads - I don't know if we have them here in California yet - are they in the bread section or refrigeration section. I don't do much bread - but I will have a sandwich maybe once every couple of months - I have a little 3x3 notebook I got from target that I keep - i throw it in my purse in the morning then my desk then back in my purse when I come home.. On the water issue - I am not always great - but I try and drink 20 oz before Breakfast - then between bf & lunch I try and get it another 10 - then 10 after lunch and another 10 or 20 in the evenings.. I don't always make it - but I make a good attempt - I have a bottle here as i type.. I know it will be hard to leave your family - but I think it will be great to be able to work on you (see how I like to look for the sliver linings)- as women we are always taking care of everyone else that we never take care of us - I think that's why we eat - it's our comfort our reward for all the giving that we give and don't always get the appreciation that we deserve from others. Exercise it takes time to make it a habit - I still try and talk myself out of going - but since I go 4 days M T W and Sat mornings I have my little schdule and usually don't vary from it unless I have to - but then I still have 3 other days to choose from if I have to miss one of my scheduled ones. thanks for the props - i enjoy helping - the mother in me i guess :tongue2:

I would hope that we are ready for a Black President or a Woman President (personally I think it's terrible that this question has to be asked in the first place - it shows that sexism & racism still exist) On the day that he declared himself the Dem candidate (cuz he has the #'s) - I went and told my grandchildren to watch his speech. That this was a special day - a day in History that will be written about in our history book - it's about time that a women & or a man of color even have a chance to be the President of the USA. Hopefully one day we the people will get it together and understand we are the same no matter the color of our skin or if we squat or stand to pee.
