GOOD MORNING GANG !!!! I was at an Airborne party last night - didn't get home till like 8:30 and was beat Kari - CONGRATULATIONS !! I know how nerve wracking waiting for the results can be... Candice & Denise I haven't watched it - I just sorta glanced at it - pad's vs tampon's how stupid - now I will have to go look for it and watch it - People now a days have no class - I am of the generation that my Mother brought me up to be respectable - not that I can't cuss like a sailor and act like a slut - but only in the right situation . Heck if my left hand wasn't in my lap during dinner - My Mom would stab it with a fork to remind me it belonged in my lap and not on the table - Manners were a very big thing in my family - I could go to the White House and have dinner - drink champagne & caviar and not be intimated - and I can go to the hood and play domino's & spades :tt2: while drinking Thunderbird & pineapple juice:tt2: Candice Never heard of that diet - will have to google it but I agree with you 100% - Sick of gimmicks. I couldn't sleep Wed night - last night at the facial party I was beat - got a 10 mg xania from GF and slept great last night - on my 3rd cup of coffee as I am still dragging a$$ - 119 yesterday - it's 8:30 and already 91. Why don't you drink regular coffee I couldn't live without it - I have one cup every morning with splenda and sf creamer... Ok gotta ck my desk - CBL  RUBY AND LINDA WHERE IN THE HECK ARE YOU TWO !!!!!

Yep Kat gas is worse that the stupid surgery - it kept in the the hospital an extra night cuz it hurt so bad when the doc came to release me - Gas X strips and walking and sleeping on your side will take a little time - since I am in my golden years  I don't remember exactly how long it took me but I think it was only a couple of days - you have to do is slowly, Hope today is a better day for you - walk and gas strips some even said heating pads - but since I live in the desert and was banded in july a heating pad was the last thing on my mind:lol:
-
The ticker on my task bar says it's 115 :crying: but I have lived here my whole life - and I am just thankful it's not 125 - now that's hot  115 is normalish for the Desert  Thankfully you don't have Msra - it's ugly... Glad the meds are working.. Yep 7/17 is a good day - Hugs Janet

Long - does your doc do fills under fluro or blind. We are not in control of the fill amounts - your doc will do that - if your fill is under fluro - they will see the fluid you drink going thru the band (fast or slow) and if you they are done blind - you drink water and the doc ask how it feels - this is how my doc does it - Neither is an exact science - Since I do have restriction most days - I don't feel I really need a fill - if I eat hard proteins I do get full fast - soft mushies - don't seem to last - but when you get to the regular food stage - then you will know if you need a fill or not. You really can't make any judgement till then.. For me I don't find that the band takes away all my hunger - it helps but it's not the magic hunger turner offer (like my english) -
Good Morning Ladies How's everyone doing today - How are things going. Found this article in the Lapband magazine - and it's great info http://www.lapbandtalk.com/f197/lap-band-learning-curve-65033/#post879194

Long2Bfree Congrats on your date :rolleyes2:!!!! 7/17 will be my 1 yr anniversary  Sounds like you have mrsa - which is now a community acquired staph infection - use to be that staphs were limited to hospital but now a days it's everywhere. My 4 yr gd has it - my son got it - prior to surgery they weren't allowed at my house and if they were then I bleached everything - I did want to have the bug in my system prior to surgery - make sure you wash your sheets with a little bleach and towels too or you risk re-infecting yourself.. Good Luck on your surgery - prayers for a safe surgery and speedy recovery...

Long - how did dinner go? Yep there are diff degrees of hunger and for me it seems like the majority of my night time hunger is all head hunger and our bands are fickle - one minute we can eat a whole cup and not feel restriction and then eat 2 bites of something and be full... Lynn - Yep bug them to up your appointment - your band isn't working if you don't have proper restrtiction .. I think I need like .01 adjustment but going to LV next week and keep hearing that flying tightens the band so I won't get my adjustment til I get back - I have been too tight once and that was enough never want to go there again.. I would rather use will power than being to tight.. PCgirl - Congrats on your 6 lbs - that's great !!! Yep old habits do have a way of creaping back in... I fight it daily!!! I have a little bowl from target that is one cup - I have a scale (don't use as much anymore since I now know what 4 oz looks like) Carol - How's it going?? Sounds like you are doing just great... Beverlydiane - Yep I still will forget to chew or take a bite that is too big - and yes your band will remind you.. Maybe not the first bite but the 2nd or 3rd - it will say stop :rolleyes2: -
Denise I am going to have to ck out lemon hill  I just got the TSV last week Kathy Van something - luggage for my LV trip next weekend - Cherry Red:tt1: (carry on and tote) Watching QVC all day could be $$$$ - I haven't opend my Q card bill yet :smile2: Phyl - great on getting off you bp meds (or reducing them) that's a great nsv - I was on 2 now 1 but haven't taken it for a couple of days my bp was 120/74 last night - so as the weight comes off - the bp is getting so much better. Karri - Yep that seems like a lot of food but again with your exercise you need it - I am so proud of you and the whole running thing - you are such an inspiration. Well off to ck my desk - Just wanted to pop in and say Good Morning... CBL :rolleyes2:
-
Congrats on your acheivments - I am totally with you on the exercise issue - it's the key to the weight coming off. I am glad you are getting your knee fixed. I too am 11 months out - that's what caught my eye on your thread - I was banded 7/17 and agree - it's the very best thing I have ever done for me... Good job - Keep it up !!!
-
Well Ladies I am off to eat and watch tv it's 8:21 and 10 will be here before you know it. Have a good evening - sweet dreams - talk to you all tomorrow.. xooxox Janet

Denise Hell the best I have gotten from GS is that I was walking fast now a days (well he said running but i was just walking) so don't feel bad. How much did they take off each of the girls??? But I have all you guys telling me I am looking "skinny" love that word Phyl. and some freinds from work they tell me not to lose anymore - but I want the 100 lbs mark and then maybe 145 - I would love to say I have a normal bmi.. I was cking out the forum threads - OMG you guys gotta go read the Powder Room Girls Gone Wild thread - well maybe you better not - they are talking about tons of super personal crap = that yes we girls do talk about but in person only.. Well maybe my age is showing.. But I would never post some of that stuff on the internet where God and everyone could read it...
-
Denise - Glad you are returning to the land of the living and yep that taste is most likely the meds in your system and the stuff they put you to sleep with. Go brush your tongue really good and gargle with some mouth wash.. Jackie - Glad you are back too - You DH is great - don't you just love those complements - they in themselves are great motivators. Karri you are too funny - yep you are going to have that body - we are all going to be so jealous (good jealous:tongue:) Heck I would take the pain pump off - it's most likely just a IV in your arm - You just hold it down (the area where the needle is ) and pull it out - DH can do it  How's your unfill doing?? What's your appeitite like?? Candice - you can do it - just eat healthy and exercise - it will come off... I think I could use like .02 of a fill - I seem to be hunger about 1 hr after i eat - today at lunch i had 4 oz chicken and 1 cup green beans - and at 2 ish I was hungry.. Phyl glad you go some meds - are you still on your cpap machine?? Mall of America better watch out here we come....
-
My doc allows 2 healthy Snacks and this is when I eat my fruit. I don't do well with orange white membrane (don't know what its called) but I can eat peaches - watermelon - apples - plums - grapes - cherries just like with everything else - small bites & chew well..

Do I really need a fill?
IndioGirl55 replied to sshaw9126's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Sounds like you might not need a fill - If you are in a good place then don't mess with it.. There was a lady in my Doc's office who went 6 months before she got her 1st fill. Not everyone needs a fill right away, You could be thristy at night due to the salt in your evening meal. I only have to wait 1/2 hr after eating to drink - so that's not usually too hard. -
HELP!! I've gotten off track and I need to get back on!!!!
IndioGirl55 replied to michellyoh's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Michelle I am sorry for your struggles ((Hugs)) You have made your 1st step - yes by admitting to your problems. I can't give you "don't worry" or "been there stories" but I can understand how you ended up off track. Now what we need to get you back on track.... You got comfortable after losing the 60 lbs - you were tired of dieting - you had some emotional issues - you returned to your addiction (food) 1st take the word diet out of your vocabulary - replace it with eating healthy... Do you need a fill ?? Go see your doc immediately if you do - discuss this with him/her. Once you have your fill - make the commitment to yourself that you are not going to let your addiction win that you are going to beat this battle of the bulge once and for all. Clean out the pantry & fridge of all the junk foods - throw it away (if the junks not there you can't eat it) - make up a menu for the week - go shopping and buy only whats on your list. Get back to exercising and following the banding rules (no drinking with meals:smile:) This is a lifetime lifestyle change and once you reconsider this then it will help you... I know that I can never go back to my old eating habits cuz if I do I will regain all my weight - even with the band. Go back to posting on you May 07 thread - talk to the others there - they and the rest of us will help you. I find that LBT has become my transfer addiction - It keeps me honest - I post everyday - It's my accountability Pull up those boot straps and move forward - you can do this.:smile2:. -
Get the mucinex - but glad you are feeling better... Has your weather gotten any better?? It's suppose to be 115 again today:biggrin: I am ready for our Mall Trip - but due to all the new baggage stuff - I may just have to mail my purchase home :smile2:

:thumbup:CONGRATS JILL ON THE 10 LBS:thumbup: Exercise - slow and easy that's the way i started Never thought something as simple as eggs would taste so good

IndioGirl55 replied to IndioGirl55's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
MyTurn - Yep I talk this site up to my doc's office all the time and he too was suprised at all I knew prior to banding - thanks to this website. I got approval for surgery as soon as my psych eval was sent to insurance - I had my colonoscopy 7/13 and was banded 7/17.. Christy I am not a doc - but don't think you have streached your pouch - you are in bandster hell - time between surgery & 1st fill. You are doing good on your calories and I would continue that -As Phyl says just cuz you can eat more doesn't mean you should - You are going to have to use your will power & self control - you have it you just aren't use to using it - as obese pple we gave into every craving that we had when ever we wanted. As you will learn on this journey to be healthy - being a little hungry isn't going to kill you but being obese is. Most doc's don't fill until 6 weeks out - I have seen some give at 4 weeks but ususally it's 6.. You can do this - drink your water, get your protein in and walk till you are cleared to do anything else. Becko- Prayers & Hugs... Per my doc the size of the band is due to the size of your stomach.. I have the new ap band large hit my sweet spot on 2nd fill and had a tweak in January - I never cared about the size or # of cc's in my band (always wondered why everyone is) all I care about is that it works - who cares how. Apple - sounds like you did great !!! All doc's are so diff - I had full liquids after surgery and had 10 days on each phase.. Rest - Walk - glad to know you are doing so great.. Alice I am 11 months out and I still have to becareful to eat slowly - chew - old habits die hard  My 2nd fill was the one:biggrin: -
Good Morning Gang I didn't get on the computer last night - tired... I am still a tad tired this morning sort of blah  feeling - not sick just not 100% - it I still had pms I would call it that . Kari - Yes let us know - I had to have one last August... Phyl - How are you feeling today? Candice - How was the fill?? Ok off to me desk - cbl :scared2:
-
Thanks DJ...
-
Phyl Have you tried some mucinex - that's what the doc had me get last time I was sick. but you really should go to the doc you have been sick for a bit now.. I had yogurt dannon light & fit 60 calories with 1/4 (if that) for bf today - doesn't really stick to the ribs - but it's what I have for bf often - I really don't like sweets in the morning - but I don't like microwaved egg beater and I am not hungry before I leave the house a little after 7 I think the yogurt on the train might be full sugar & high fat - you would be better off with skim milk and granola...
-
Ok where in the heck is everyone.... Ruby - Linda - Steph - Jackie (come back please) - Karri - Kari - Phyl I am drinking my water - 108 right now per the little ticker on my task bar - I am on my 3rd bottle. Breakfast - yogurt & granola - Lunch - Fish & Rice - 10 almonds and I am hungry - but it's cuz I am tired - don't know why just am.. Ok back to work - just wanted to know where everyone was...
