    Help Iam fustrated

    Sunnie One of my triggers is being tired... Today was one of those days - I watched the 9/11 moment of silence this morning - made me cry which makes me sleepy - well came home from work beat - want to eat - I want sweets - slider foods - but know what I did - I came home vacuumed then made a snack pack pop corn and sat and ate one piece at a time - I am OK now - tail I cook dinner.. Just stay within a budget - so if you eat that cookie - well you get less dinner - and even with the band I still am a volume eater - I want to feel full - a cookie or piece of cake isn't going to do that - but Protein rice and veggies will - so I will take the meal over the junk.. You are doing great - one day at a time - Keep up the good work you can and will do it:thumbup: - positive affirmations

    Yep I agree... But this is why I tune out... I really hate it - I just want to know each sides stands on the issues. I'm pro-choice - so the dem's have me there - I beleive I should be able to own a gun - the repub's have me there.. - What are they going to do about health care cost - renewalble energy - the war and terrorism - Darfur. Heck my boss who is Mr. Repulican - just told me that he doesn't think it would be bad if Obama did win .. So - who know's - we will find out on 11/5/08 - as long as we don't have any CHAD problems... :sad:

    Why can't they both just stick to the issues - they both need to quit nit picking on stupid word (she herself said the diff between a hockey non and a bit bull was lipstick - she was talking about her self) so if I wanted to I could say - Hockey mom is no dif that a bitch with lipstick - and I as a hockey mom might take offense at this statement cuz I don't consider myself a dog or a bitch... It's the issues pple - not this stupid crap .... I can say the sky looks purple today - and if you want to look hard enough you will find away to misconstrue it to saying something totally different than what I ment... This is why I HATE POLITICS - they all find the most stupidest things to bicker about - Issues !!!

    Struggling Bandster Needs a Buddy

    Kathy - I am a tough band love person - operative word is love... I to am a food addict - 1st step is admitting theres a problem which you have done. Great Support and not getting it from your DH - what do you mean by this - is he bring home candy Cookies and tempting you - or that you want him to play food cop for you... They have banded our stomachs and not our brains - and to me that's where all our problems are - in our head. As you know your band is only a tool - it doesn't make your food choices or exercise for you - It only gives you portion control once you have proper restrictions and as you know you can eat around your band. You first of all have to want this change - I wish I could motivate you but I can't only you can do that - You have to make up your mind that you can do this - it's not a diet it's a lifestyle change in your eating.. I understand - let me tell you - right now I am physically full from lunch - but oh my - i want to eat - am i - Nope - I am typing here and sipping my Water - this too shall pass - not eating every time I "think" I need to eat isn't going to kill me but being overweight will.. I find things to distract me when I am like this (LBT is a great place for that) I drink my water - I don't keep crap at home on in my desk at work that I could snack on - I feel to frickin good to gain the weight back - in a little bit I will have my afternoon snack (fiberone bar) then tonite dinner and dessert (sf) afterwords -I know that I am going to eat again today - it's not like I am never going to eat again - a little hunger isn't going to kill me.. You just gotta make up your mind - be a bit competitive and say to yourself - I am going to prove DH wrong - I am going to prove to him that I can do this - I don't need his support - I am the only person who chooses what I eat not him,..     Moving Fast!! Got Surgery date!

    Congrats on getting your date !!!!! I had Blue Cross CA - Consultaion 5/31 - got date on 6/10 for surgery on 7/17/07 - I didn't have to do any 6 month diet - 1 week pre-op - and tons of pre-op test.. Again - Congrats !!! I know the day that I got my call - I was so jazzed - I wanted to scream it from the roof tops !!!

    Hey 50 & over gang We have a new spot

    I'm really like 5.3 1/2 - but say I am 5'4 :rolleyes2: - Weight traing is key for us 50+ pple - we need to build our core strength - our boned (which weight training does) - I only started with weights in March 08 - and lost my final 28 lbs - my body has reshaped it's self and I have muscles... The more muscles you have the more calories you burn just breathing Becky For me a sign that I used if I needed a fill or not was if I was capable of gulping water with no pain - So ya I think you may need some added. I can not gulp water - when I do forget - my band reminds me:unsure:

    Totally agree:thumbup: I have done the work - it took me 1 yr 1 week to lose 105 lbs. Pple are always asking for my secret - There is no secert - it's all about eating healthy and exercising. The band makes the job of losing weight a little easier but really and truly the work is up to The band is useless against stopping you from eating slider food..

    Sunnie First 40 lbs in 4 months that 10 lbs a month - the average weight loss is one or two lbs a month and you have done that - 6 or 7 lbs in 6 weeks again great - you are doing fine. Heck I had lots of weeks where I just lost 1/2 lbs - but was able to lose 100 lbs in 11 months 1 week - total loss has been 105 in 1 yr 1 week.. You say you have fallen off the wagon - well I know you know that they did band your brain and that's where our problems lie IMHO. This isn't a diet - it's a lifestyle change in our eating and exercise (which you are doing - congrats) I know that you feel that the weight should be flying off (like 10 lbs a weeks) - but it didn't come on overnight so it's not going to come off over night.. For me I have never looked at my new eating style as a diet - diet's don't work - cuz when you go off them - you go back to eating what we considered normal which was what got us fat in the 1st place. Budget your calories to allow for treats about once a week or every 2 - if I want sweets I eat the sf stuff (puddings - yogurts - fudgecicles) and that will curb my cravings - every once in a great while I would have a treat but it was always within my calorie budget and if I did go over - I would exercise more to burn it off. You can't be worrying about December all you can do is concentrate on today and making good food choices - if you do that you will achieve your goals...

    Yep Denise - you do know me well :thumbup:- I like to cook:closedeyes: - I like to eat :rolleyes2:- but even pre-banding I didn't eat out very much - the whole single issue which I know you understand.. Also, I didn't like to eat out pre-banding cuz i didn't have leftovers to eat when I got home at night :sleep: Now I do How's the new BF??? Still going good... I am going out to lunch today - choices when going out are limited - use to eat big sub kind of sandwiches - now adays can't do that... Most likely chineese or mexican - at least with the chinesse hard protien and get full fast - mexican 1/2 to 3/4 of a taco so not bad.. I gotta say that so far maintaining hasn't been a problem - scale this morning 145 - and I have had a few small oatmeal Cookies in the evenings..

    I wish I could forget to eat :rolleyes2: The only time I do that is if I am out and about doing something Dinner is my primary meal and the one that I NEVER NEVER go without - must go back to the days when I was a kid and we sat down and ate together as a family... I love dinner - my fav meal of the day..

    Great Job :rolleyes2: I suspect that you are of the male persuasion due to the fast weight loss in 5 1/2 month - that is truly super even if you are a male :thumbup: Us females are always jealous that guys lose so much faster than us..

    Madame Suzanne Hugs for your struggles :rolleyes2: Your periods being gone is most likely menopause :sleep: As to losing 4 lbs in 15 days - What are you eating?? Give me your menu for yesterday. How many calories are you eating - are you tracking/logging your caloires.. That's my very 1st suggestion - alot of pple use dailyplate.com to log & track their food and exercise. Right now you most likely don't have a lot of restriction - you are healing. Sounds like your 1st fill will be in October. But in the meantime you must eat healthy - This is not a diet but a lifestyle change.. As you have heard a million times - the band is only a tool - it works when it's properly filled to restrict your portions - but you have to make the healthy food choices - Your band isn't going to do it for you... You are doing great on the exercise - I am a big advocate of exercise (that's the new me - I was a total slug bug pre-banding) Let me know about your food choices - when do you get to move to soft/regular foods..     Lucky # Sevens- July 07 Bandsters

    Good Morning Gang OMG I almost broke my ankle last night - I did the above post and signed off - while sitting at the computer I had my legs crossed - well got up out of the chair and my foot I guess fell asleep - I went to walk and my left foot was like a flipper I had no control - well it bent underneat me and I heard all this cracking and I fell - and was yelling in pain... I just kept saying oh please don't let it be broken - I mean all my weight was on that leg - Andrew comes running asking me what's wrong... and I can't even talk - Do you know the 1st thing he said - do you want medicine (pain stuff) - Told him no I need ice - well after about 5 minutes I could move it so I know it's not broken - but I this morning my achillies tendion hurts and I am a little gimpy... Be careful gang.. That's all I gotta say - leg crossing is great but after sitting at the computer for 45 minutes it does stop your cirulation.... 9/11/08- GOD BLESS AMERCIA !!!! Today is a sad day - I remember 7 yrs ago and the total shock and disbelief in what had happend.. Please keep the pple who lost their lives and their families in your prayers today and always - What a different world we live in today...

    You did find -you don't want to fill tightening - you want to eat and feel normal - full on a smaller amount of food. That's the band working.. As to the gym issue - you know what - ya when I 1st joined it wasn't the easiest - but you know what I was doing it for me - I got on the treadmil and did my thing - screw the rest of the pple there and what they thought of this fat old lady on the treadmill sweating like a pig. If we let what we think that pple think about us from stopping do something for ourselves we are just sabotaging ourselves - do you know most pple aren't looking at you like you think they are. 10 or 11 months out the pple at the front desk stopped me one day to congratulate me on my weight loss - when you come in you give them your # and your original photo pops up - well - for all those months they never really paid attention - heck they saw me 4-5 days a week - but then they really looked at my photo from when I joined and the now me - I think that was one of my proudest moments - having them acknownledge my weight loss -the manager calls me skinny and tells me how good I look... So don't worry about what pple think = you are doing this for you .. If you pay cash you can negoiate the price most times - heck they may charge the insurance company $1000 buck - but the insurance compamy only really pays like $200 and they write off the rest. I think it's just a coincident that your hunger has returned with the loss of your gallbladder and that they are not connected - but heck I am no doctor.. Do they have fill centers around your area - I would look into that - I think I have read they charge like $150 not sure don't quote me on that but go above - I think there is an adverstiment on the top of the board for the Fill Center USA - You can ck to see if they have one close to you.. Going to they gym is going to help alot - Keep it up - You can do this.. Keep us post. Lori - Mine sat in my bed room for a long time - before freinds came and got what they wanted and then the remainder went to the local shelter. Now I love taking the things that don't fit and putting them in a separate pile - I feel a great sense of accomplishment. Heck I haven't eaten dinner yet - I posted here then went to my mentor thread was 3/4 done - phone rang - gf in tears - she swallowed her crown her dog die a couple of weeks ago - work is terrible - so had to calm her down and get her in the right frame of mind - in the meantime GS gets on my computer for something - I am now off the phone and in the kitchen trying to cook something at 8:30 for dinner - and guess what he does - turns off my computer - lost my post - UGH:cursing: So had to go and repost - then see we have activity so gotta ck it out and I just loved your suggestions - so had to post - it's 9:21 and I haven't eaten - or watched any t.v. So just wanted to say that - I gotta go unwind and for me being on here isn't unwinding - it gets my brain going and I think about how I responed or should have responded - of great idea i have about whatever we are talking about - so I am calling it a nite - 5 a.m will be here before I know it.. talk to you all tomorrow ...     Little Bit My doctor provided my food for my pre-op - oatmeal - soup - shakes and protein bars - optifast I think it was and I only had 1 week of pre op but 2 days of clear liquids - I made my own home made chicken broth - it tastes so much better thant the canned stuff.. Hasnt your doctor given you a list/menu that he wants you to follow??

    Ellen - See we told you it wasn't going to be bad :cool2: To me your post fill diet isn't that bad - my doc wants a week on each stage :w00t:. Make my cream of bean Soup - have Protein shake for Breakfast or lunch - you can have puddings & yogurts... It' won't be that bad. How much you can eat will depend on how much restriction you get from this fill - my 1st fill i felt right aways - could only eat 1/2 container of yogurt - but it only lasted about a week - went back and got another fill which truly put me at my sweet spot - on that fill I ate about 1/2 - 3/4 1 cup max depending on what I ate and it was usually my rice fish veggie - I have been eating that for over a yr now The gulpping is the real sign that you need a fill - when I wasn't at my sweet spot I could still gulp Water - now I forget - then get a pain til it goes down.. Sips.... I miss gulpping :tt2:) Charlene - Prayers & Hugs for you and family I can barely eat a whole lean cuisine alfredo fettuchine which I add some scallops or shrimp to - it measures 1 full cup and the last few bites are really pushing it - I don't eat to many frozen dinners - but that one I love with scallops or shrimp added - to die for - real comfort food - I take 3 scallops and cook in a little evoo & butter with garlice - cook the alfred in the micro - then add the cooked scallop (not the oil but just the scallops) If you can eat that and not feel full - then yes I would say you need another fill.. But since that's the only one I eat - that's all I can go by.. Becky you are afaird to get rid of them because before after you got off your diet you gained the weight back and had to buy new fat clothes again. This time is different so don't be afraid - different how you ask - well this time you aren't on a diet - you are making a lifetime lifestyle change in your eating and you have your little tool installed to help you.. You aren't ever going to go off this - you are going to eat this new healthy way for the rest of your life you are adding exercise into your life - this isn't a diet that you are every going to quit - cuz you are never going back to eating the way you did before - so don't be afaird - get rid of the stuff - give it to your local shelter or if you do go to support groups they have clothing exchanges.. It takes awhile to get use to the regular sectiion - but let me tell you the 1st time you buy those 14 12 10 8 - omw you are never going to want to go back the the BBW section.. I don't miss it - now I have the WHOLE MALL to shop in - not just a couple of BBW stores... Hugs and sorry for your stuggles - Long2btn just had her gallbladder out and she is newly banded and I don't think she is having these issues - your gall bladder has nothing to do with your hunger - it has bile in it to metabolizm the fat we eat. I really don't know what to tell you - since you can't go back to the doc cuz your ins won't pay for a fill - I gotta ask here - why did you get banded if you can't maintain it. It will only work if it's properly maintained.. I don't understand and my insurance doesn't have a limitatipn on # of fills.. Also there is the possibility that your band has been damaged when you have your surgery or you have slipped - if you had restriction prior to your gall bladder surgery - and don't now - did the same doc who banded you do your gall bladder surgery As to making poor food choices - that's up to you not your band - it can't do that for you - I am glad you are going to the gym that's really important. Suggestion - save the $$ and go back to get a fill &/or call your insurance and find out what's up with them.. In the meantime you just have to make healthy food choices and do your exercise.. But I would really ck w/your doctor

    Hey Donna Thanks for the Pictures now we know what you look like - You sorta have the same shape I did in the beginning... Have you had your 1st fill ?? When do you go for your 2nd fill - What are you eating, are you logging your calories - and the all important - exercises - are you doing any of that yet.. Candice - DH bday - is just like yours - calories don't count - you aren't too bad .. Make up for it tomorrow and since you are celebrating tonite - get a little mattress exercise in - that counts :tongue2::w00t::w00t: also I have read to use applesauce in place of oil in your cakes baking etc.. Donna - I haven't had a chance to watch the news yet - but will pay attention now that I have a lucky #7 in the path - Will keep you and your family in our prayer - omw now power - now gas - that would be so hard.. Hugs... --------------------------------------------------------------------- OK gang just got back from the gym - still gotta fix dinner - Andrew got his car back today - but it's making a noise so it has to go back. But at least I don't have to play taxi cab in the morning... Not much to report - food today Steak for breakfast 4 oz - 1/4 apple - 4 oz fish & cauliflower for lunch - Fiberone Bar Snack - have some ground turkey in the fridge - I guess turkey meat loaf & veggies and tatoes ofr dinner - I am a little tired - but gotta cook so I will have lunch tomorrow. I have some oatmeal cookies (they are little 36 calories each) had 4 before bed and 2 @ 2 - may just have to throw them away... Ok off to see what's cooking for dinner ... CBL :omg_smile:

    Hugs Julie and congrats on your 24 days - As they say - One day at a time... You can do it.. food was my drug of choice but I have alot of family members who either drink or do drugs.. So I do have a little understanding and a lot of empathy for your struggles Proud of you for making the choice to get sober... That in it's self is the biggest and hardest step to make..
