    I think I did ok - we all flubbed up - but they will take what they shot and edit it - I can't wait to see what they kept !!! Here what I wore - White jeans & purple top... My hair came out good and so did my make up - I was pretty happy this morning - I was freaking out that I would end up having a bad hair day - or a big zit would pop out But all in all I was pretty happy - and that's saying alot cuz I am hyper critical of myself:rolleyes:

Donna - Your back - we have been wondering how you faired during Ike.. Hope everything is ok.. Well, shot my commercial this morning - there was 4 of us a husband wife team & nurse who were bypass and this guy Cid and me who were banded - I will be interested to see how the final product looks after the do all their cut and pasting.. They will give me a cd with the final commercial on it - then I will have to figure out how to post it... Doc office gave us goodie bags - facial gift certificate - vitatmins, calcuim, iron, great cinnamon pecan dream protein bars - vanilla wafers & choc wafer that are protein - soy snacks with protien - protein lemonaid. Ok I gotta get back to work - I was gone 2 hrs... Talk to you tonite

    Kathy - Didn't know you lived in Vermont - My Aunt had a house on lake champange - I spent 2 summers there .. I post here - my Lucky # 7 and the 50 thread when I can - But yes they do intermingle... That's why I do the quote thing so I know who I am responding to and also it help's other when reading Phyl - that's the only thing I miss is a big sandwich - I didn't eat them often - for me just to eat the guts is a waste - so I just eat something else.. We don't go to sandwich places for lunch unless they have Soup or salad. I can do tortillas sometime and like chicken other times I can't I had a turkey wrap yesterday for lunch kid size - burpped and was very full.. Kathy - That would be so cool - Ya you can come over one night and have a one pot wonder with me - I would love it !!!!! Can't wait !!!! Lori - OMG YOU ARE LOSING WEIGHT LIKE A BYPASS GIRL !!!!! What a shock they are in for. Heck tell them the truth you are eating healthy and exercising. -------------------------------------------------------------- Ok gang - back from shooting my TV commercial - I think it went well - they will cut and paste what they want - so I will be interested in seeing the final product.. There was a Husband & Wife team and a Nurse who had bypass and then me & a guy named Cid who where banded.. They are going to give me a cd of the commercial - so now just have to figure out how to post it - might have to upload it to you tube or something??? I don't know how to do that crap - but guess I will figure it out.. Ok I gotta get my to work- I was gone for 2 hours... Talk to you all to night....

    Sorry about your accident - that's why I don't ride - I am a clusts (sp) I had 2 very bad accidents when I was a kid - tore up my forehead the 1st time and my chin the 2nds time - stiches etc.. So I stay off bikes:scared2: Congrats on your weight lost!!!! 33 lbs - heck you will have that gone by January... No problem.. Glad you are liking your new job - Pop in more often !!!

    Joann You are going to be and EXCELLENT BANDER !! You are already talking the talk and walking the walk - the band will be that little tool that helps you get to your goal.. I am just so happy for you... Enjoy your last days - I had last meal mentality for the 5 weeks prior surgery - I ate all the stuff (well most didn't get it all in) that I wouldn't be including in my new healthy lifestyle The only thing I would really say to splurge on is like a submarine sandwich - or any kind of sandwich you like that comes on a roll or thick bread... As I would say that's really the only food that I can't eat - well haven't tried but I know that a I would most likely be stuffed or pbing on 2 tiny bits - I would love a submarine sandwich from Ciro's they make the best or a Salami on jalapeno bread (roll) at TBK's - That's really the only thing that I can't eat - due to the fact that I would get no nutrition out of that meal - I still eat taco's enchillda's & chineese so - If you really like a sandwich/sub that's on thick bread - eat it now :thumbup:

    Lori Have you seen the show "How to look good Nake" Carson from the fab 5 - Women had to pick out of a bunch of girls in their bra & panties who they thought they looked like (size wise) they always picked out someone 3 size bigger.... I am glad that your DH pointed out your size cuz that's important - to look at another person and say oh "I'm that size" cuz we still think of ourselves as big women - I don't know it that will ever go aways - as I am always saying at work "I am looking out the same pair of eyes that I looked out of 1 yr ago" Heck I didn't think I looked as fat as I was when I was 250 - our minds play tricks on us both ways - when you are morbity obese your mind say ya you are fat but not that fat - and then when you are thin - you say ya I;m thinner '- but I'm still Fat.. I didn't find that I got tight flying - it was just most likely the Panda Express food - I did that too last time I ate there - I hate eating fast food - not to many good choices Yep we are bariatric pple but we do absorbe all our caloires - so 1/2 cup of rice is 120 calories for us where as with a bypass patient who know. But I'm with you I only use those sites to get the calories & protein for something i have eaten and nothing else.. Did you win any $$$ - Glad you had a good time Charlene Congrats on your on Sept weight lost - heck a pound is nothing any more you can make your goal for next month with no problem - That's good that you all have monthly goals - that what they say we should do - the only time I had one of those was during Xmas - We did it so that we would stay on track during the holidays - but other than that I never had a goal per month - My only goal was to get to 160 by 7/17 - and I hit that (160) on 5/8 - and 100 gone 7/24... Lori Congrats on your 7 lbs !!!! Yes bypass pple have gotten the band - but they have a new proceedure where they go down your esophagus (sp) and stapple the pouch back into a smaller size - something like that - I am not sure - but I have read about it.. I might have read oh wait - I just read it in O magazine this morning let ne go get it... Ok August 08 issue - beyond stomach stapling whats new & better - Stomaphy X it's like a tiny sewing machine that is lowered into the stomach from the mouth - buided by an endoscope a doc can use stomaphy x to gather up folds of stoamch tissue and stich them together shrinking the stomach. And it has been approved by the FDA, I am sorry for your friend - but this is why pple really need to do the head work - and make this a lifestyle change - But due to the fact that bypass pple can eat fried fish and still lose weight cuz they don't absorb all the calories - but after a yr or 2 out their bodies heals themselves and they start absorbing more of their calories - if they haven't truly made a change in their eating - it's going to catch up with them.. -------------------------------------------------------------------- Sounds like everyone is doing well - I am so happy for all of you.. Well, I just dropped in to say hi - I gotta pay bills:eek: - and get ready for tomorrow (commercial day:eek:) I will be glad when it's over - I am too much of a perfectionist - and I just know I am going to be nit picking my make up and hair - heck I am still trying on diff outfits - but sticking to the white pants & purple top - I will take a pic before I leave the house tomorrow.. Well, I gotta to those bills - I will cbl :thumbup:

    Ok Soleil - I am going to give you some suggestions and tought band love at the same time - but please remember the operative word is love !!! #1 - Track your calories (dailyplate.com - fitday.com) keep your calories between 800 -1200 daily and zig zag them.. Follow the band rules hard protiens 1st - then veggies and if any room carbs. #2 - Soft foods = slider foods - this is why you can eat more of them than hard proteins that fill you up physically but not mentally... Try and eat hard protiens 1st - tiny bites - chew and eat slowly - No drinking with or after meals for 1/2 hr, #3 - Yes you have a full schedule - but you have to find time to get some exercise - even if it's just 30 minutes of walking - you must fit it in your schedule. No more excuses... #4 - Can you gulp water - to me this is a good test to see if you need a fill - if you can gulp water without pain - then I would say go see your doc. You say you have only lost 20 lbs since last July and that you do have restriction - you are only eating 1 1/2 cups of food per meal. But admit to eating slider foods so I have that right Our bands are only a tool - they aren't going to make your food choices for you - they don't help with head hunger issues - it doesn't stop you from eating soft/silder foods.. You gotta make healthy low fat - sugar free - limited carb choices and if you aren't getting full on 1 cup of food - then you may just need to see your doc.. Don't be embarrassed or ashamed - just go see him - talk to him - tell him where you are at and how much you are eating per meal and what you are eating - get a tweak - as you sound like you need one. Ya gotta do the work - and most of it's mental - it's doeable - the band with proper restrict makes a hard job just a little eaiser - but it's still work on your part.. Please give me what you ate Sunday and Yesterday - I will do the calorie thing and give you some more helpfull hints...

Phyl I loved what your broker said Drive over a cliff or hang from a cactus well mine called last week or the week before and I sold my BofA stock and made a 20% profit - and that $$ is sitting in a money market account - that was my only real stock - I mostly have mutual funds - but as we all know those are invested too - I haven't looked and am not going to I haven't Steph I haven't watched the news tonite - had gym then came home emptied the dishwasher swept the floor and just sitting down - but I do know that the market is down 700% :eek: I too have been thinking all the $$ spent this last summer on trips - clothes etc - and now look were we are - I guess this is why pple who lived thru the great depression are so frugal - but we never imagine that this could happen in our life time. Phyl I agree some is political - But while they are fighting us little pple are the ones getting hurt - not the congress pple - heck they make tons more $$ than most of us - have free health care -a whole lot of perks - My biggest concerm on this bail out is that the CEO - GET ZIP !!!! OH I LOVE GARLIC - Next July I want to go the the garlic festival there in gilroy - it's not to far from my Sisters (I don't think) Ok Gang - I was busy at work - didn't get much accomplished - just not super motivated today - my brain thinks it's Sunday :tongue: Well, off to feed the babies and put my dinner in the oven... :smile:CBL:tongue:

    Becky Those things are just models they really can't give you an accurate # - they just take generals into consideration - age and weight not how we burn calories - our metabolisam - what foods we eat etc - That 1200 to lose 3 lbs is BS IMHO... But I'm not a rocket scieniest - just a fat chick. I have a freind who was trying to gain a little weight - so she was eating sugar - nothing no weight gain - then she deleted the sugar and added flour/white crabs - was eating less calories of the carbs than the sugar - but in eating the carbs she gained the weight - Go figure - it's how her body reacts to the food it's given So IMHO we each have to find out what works for us - but the main thing is to decrease calories and exercise - Zig Zag your calories but no more that 1200 max a day - when you exercise (walk) don't stroll - push yourself - sweat.. Walk fast for a few minutes - slow down - then speed up again.. There is no way to know how many calorie we burn even on those treadmills that tell us how much we burn - say that my trainer who's 43 - 5'10 - 260 and ALL muscle - pluggs in those # on the treadmill (age/weight) and the man next to him is the same height and weight but all fat and out of shape - they are going to burn diff amount of calories on the same speed and incline - my trainer is going to burn less cuz he's in shape - the fat guy is going to burn more cuz he is using muscles he hasn't used.. but the stupid machine is going to say the both burned the same amount of calories So that being said - we have to take all those #'s with a grain of salt - they are approximates only - not written in stone. I only used daily plate or fitday to get the calories of foods that I didn't know how many calories was in what I ate (del taco burrito) - All I did was log my food in a little note book like this BF - Weight Control oatmeal 160 c L - One Pot Wonder 150C D - 4 oz Fish 120 - 1/2 c Rice 120 - Veggie 50 = 270 S - Popcorn 100 - puddings 2 120 - fudgcicle 80 Total for the day 900 - Excerise 2.5 miles That's it - my exercise was $$$ in the bank - Just keep doing what you are doing eating healthy exerciseing and once you get proper restriction the weight is going to come off - some weeks it could be 1 lbs - next week 2 - next wee 1/2 - then 3 the next. What the kind of food you eat - I am not an atkins advocate - but I do eat limited refinded carb

    Sandi 15 lbs in a month is excellent - we are not bypass patients that are going to lose 20 lbs a week - 15/30 = 1/2 lb a day thats 3.5 a week you are doing very well. You have to be patient - it didn't come on over night - it took me 1 yr 1 week to lose 100 lbs... I didn't do it in 6 months - heck there were weeks that I only lost 1/2 lbs - but all those little 1/2 pounds add up... My exercise consisted of mainly walking on the treadmill 4 - 5 times a week for the 1st 8 months - I didn't start weights til this past March when I got a trainer. What are you eating - are you logging you calories - how may calorie are you eating - On you next appointment ask about your exercise and lifting capablities - it's usually 6 weeks of limited phyiscal activity... Walking is fine - and keep it up.

    Joann I like that 10 calories per pound analogy - that makes sense to me :thumbup: - my trainer told me no more that 1500 - I was on some stupid site that said 1900 - I do eat between 1200 - 1400 most days - I zig zag. Yesterday I guesstimate that I had 1300.. Ya we all know better - but that's why we choose the band - it's the little tool that helps up pratice what we know but can't seem to DO on our own - the band makes it possible to DO... Yes we all know about those boys :thumbup: but the little girls know who rules the house

    Thanks Becky - my babies are all tuckered out they were at the groomers for 5 hrs - cuz the dog before them was acting up - and it took longer to get it done - but my nephew's gf works there so she had them out with her and not in the cages - I hate for them to be kennelled - I get a babysitter for them when I can take them with me :biggrin: It's funny when I was a 12 I thought that's was it -I couldn't imagine being a 10 I can tell you on 7/17/07 I never in my wildest dreams even thought that I would be a 6 or a 4... My gf came over the other night to get the last of my fat clothes - she just had bypass - I was trying to give her my 8's and she said oh no - i won't get that small - I said yes you will - look at me - they are now too big for me.. I thought that way too - but I bet you next year by this time you will most likely be smaller than me .. I stuck the 8's in her bag

I have been drinking coffee since day 1 - Ice Tea too (just not with meals) - My doc didn't have any caffine restrictions (if he did - I would have just boohoo'd them an drank it anyway - makes no sense to me - things have to be logical for me) - and as far as drinking liquor - no problem - 1 glass of wine is good for you (per my doc)- it's when you drink the whole bottle that it becomes a problem - Just like 1 slice of cake isn't going to make you fat - but eating the whole darn thing will. It's all about moderation !!!!

    My Ins didn't require it (pre-band diet) but my thinking and what I have read is that it's to see if you are committed to losing the weight. THE BAND IS ONLY A TOOL!!! It in itself is not going to cause you to lose weight... You have to realize this going in - and that little part of your mind that say ya this is the answer it's the magic cure - that's the devil talking to you - cuz it's not the magic cure answer to our obesity. The band requires alot of work on your part to change your eating habits and exercise habits. There are pple who say I didn't do this to go on another diet - they continue to eat the same food that they did prior to banding - which usually is high fat foods and foods loaded with refined carbs (oh btw I am not an atkins advocate) and foods that have sugar. With the band once you get proper restriction (which can take awhile for some) it will limit the amount of food you eat at one sitting - but you can eat around the band ie candy cookies milkshake alcohol gravy all slip right thru the band (these soft foods are slider food) plus we still absorb all our calories (not like bypass patients who don't). The pple who chose just to eat less of the unhealthy food that they ate prior to banding are going to lose some weight just due to the fact that they can't eat large quantities - but they are not going to lose a significant amount in my opinion. There's not much you can do at this date except talk to your doctor about your issues But know the band isn't going to take away your issues with food it only restricts the amount of most of the foods you can eat (remember it doesn't restrict silder foods) There is ton's of head work that has to be done in order to be a succeful bander.. They are banding your tummy and not your head - which were most of our problems lie.. I am 14 months out - I will be full - but I still want to continue to eat... The band does notthing for head hunger issue - which I still deal with on a daily basis.. Like right this second - that's why I am on the computer - it's to early to eat dinner and I needed a distraction - LBT is my distractor - it's my transfer addiction...     ok found this new great wrap stuff.. Kidz Flatout Wraps - Best Life endorsed (bob greene)(I got the kid size cuz they are smaller) 90 Caloires 12 grms carbs - with 5 slices of turkey 45 and 20 c of light mayo - Great lunch for 155 caloires - Filling !!!

    Charlene - I have a little white poodle "Angel" aka Mama's Girl black Pomeranain "Lil Bear" cuz he looks like a little black bear :wink_smile: Angel isn't hyper really - likes to bark at stuff she is pretty content to lay around like a cat - Bear is the one who wants to play fetch all the time. These are really my GS dogs - but you know how that goes :teeth_smile: Here's a pic of my babies :biggrin: Lori - I too eat heavier a couple times a week - that goes to the whole zig zag threaoy - I think our bodies need that.... I will be ok - I an just now trying to figure out what to say - I wish they had scripted it... There's not much I can do about the wrinkles - so just hope no close ups:laugh:

    Kari - I think it's and age thing - us older ones had to work and save for things - put stuff on lay away - now a days kids want everything now - instant gratification... That's the problem - heck my DS&DIL have a bigger and nicer house than I did at the age of 37.. They have a fixed loan - and they can afford it but - they still have champange taste on a 2 buck chuck budget... Loved the reasoning - Carrot Cake - Lemon Bar - Apple Crisp. One day isn't going to kill you so - hoped you enjoyed !!!! Steph to funny - before we get in a panic - yep we do do that don't we It's just cuz we love you that's all :biggrin: Phyl - you are looking skinny when you compare yourself from when you started to now... Heck in July the 1st thing I said to you was I noticed the loss just from April - You are doing great - it's just cuz you see yourself every day that you don't really notice the diff - go look at your before pics... Congrats Karri - That's Great !!! Especially with all you have been dealling with this last week - Keep up the good work Steph are you getting a full grown dog or a puppy ??? Phyl - I can't in the world for me beleive that DH would do anything to piss you off :wink_smile: - I can't say when I am tight - haven't really tried to eat when I am pissed - only time I notice is after exercise... Ruby - I am glad you are going to see your PA - yep those old habits can come back faster than we can blink.. I know that you will succeed in getting the last 20 off - You will find out what works for you -
