    Kari Yes we know you - OMG it's Thursday.... I thought today was Wednesday - I am bonkers - I should have known cuz yesterday was weight day at the gym .... I am loosing my frickin mind... Ok so I gotta go buy candy tonite..... I get a lot of tricker treaters and I love seeing all the little kids - not so much the big ones - but love the little ones - Last yr I bought my candy a few days before halloween and remember getting into it a bit - like 2 mini candies every 3 days - Last October I was 206.5 - this October I am 139.... This year I was waiting til the last minute to get it - So I guess today is the last minute.. Thanks for the reminder.... Nothing wrong with a few treats - we just can't let it get out of hand - and that's the whole thinking before we eat issue - which I really beleive for the most part we are all doing...

    Apple Congrats on getting to goal I know how exciting that was for you...- I must have missed that while I was out - Yep 600 is way to low - I'm 5'4 and would say I am mod active gym 3 - 4 times a week and have found that 1200-1500 caliories is a good amount for me and even with that amount I am still losing some like maybe a pound every couple of weeks (prior to all my latest drama) My goal is to stick between 140 - 145 weight - right now 139 was 138 yesterday - Typical daily diet was - Dannon lite & fit Yogurt/granola 1/3 cup for BF - snack almonds or Jerky or fruit - lunch usually 1 to 1 1/2 cup of a one pot wonder - meat - veggies - starch - snack a few almonds or a fruit - dinner 4 oz fish - 1/2 c rice - 1/2c veggies - snack 100 c poporn & maybe 1/2 cup sherbert (110 c) & or some fruit.. Bf 150 S 100- 170 L 200- 300 S 100- 170 D 300 -400 S 100- 200 total 1,410- some days I have snack in the morning &/or afternoon and some days I don't - so i really do vary between 1200-1500 most days.. I am no longer logging my food - I quite at my 1 yr mark when I got to goal - but I do keep a mental tab on what I am eating for as much as a 53 yr old can remember stuff . Again - I really do think before I eat and I eat better much the same thing day in and day out for the most part... Maintaning is the scarest thing - now you want the scale to stay sorta even and we are so use to being in weight loss mode we can get dissappointed when the #'s arent going down.. But on the above - the scale has still been moving downward itty bits but that's fine as long as I hover 139/140 and I do't go above 145 - I am cool - and if I do go above 145 - then I will go back to logging my calories - that's what a lady here at work does when she has put on a couple of lbs (she has been thin all her life) I asked her how - she said when I want to lose a few lbs - I keep my calories between 1000-1200 and write down what I eat... So far so good - it's all about thinking before you eat... Is that food you want (usuallly a treat or something high fat for me) is it really worth it. Heck on the treadmil last night 1 mile only burned like 88 calories - but it was just a warm up before I did my weights - usually I burn 300-350 during my usual treadmil workout of 3 miles due to the inclines that I use.

    Thanks Saleel22 !!! You can do it - I am proof of that - if I can so can everyone else - I am no diff that anyone else here - I have no magical powers. I just have the determination to get healthy and with the help of my band I have done that....

    Phyl - Yep review your stuff... Tell DH we have no control over the friggin stock market - it is what it is... Move on... Adjust accordingly.. I haven't even looked at my broker stuff - I don't want to be depressed - but I guess since I am still working it's a little diff for me.. Get out of the house - go for a ride - you love the sunshine - enjoy it while it's still warm. Leave him to his tv and worry - and when he talks about it 24/7 just try and change the subject, suggest a game of cards. Steph - Love your story - makes me feel better that I'm not the only one who forgets why I went some where and forgot to get what I went there for.. ------------------------------------------------------------------- Good morning gang.. I did better with my eating last night - lean cuisien alfredo w/shrimp - sherbert & popcorn. So maybe the stress is leaving (well at least for the moment)... Went to the gym and did 1 hr weight on arms - and 1 mile on the treadmill and as I was leaving someone called my name - a lady on a bike (she asked my trainer as he was standing next to her) she said Hi I'm Lisa you don't know me - but I want to tell you how good you are doing as I have been watching you for a while - you have slimmed down and looking good(not that you were fat - oh well I guess she hasn't been watching me from the start - I told her yes I was - I started at 250) That was my bright spot of the day - a total strange saying she has seen an improvment... Where's Ruby... Karri is fine - she emailed me last week... Candice - Hows your band this morning?? Denise - What's up girl... Kari - are you lurking.... Ok I gotta get to work - been here since 7... and it's 7:29 and I gotta get some work done... CBL:tongue:

    Good Morning Ladies.... White gravy - use to be a big comfort food for me... Now it's popcorn How's everyone doing today... How the restriction fill issues going.. Exercise ??? I am getting back to my routine to a degree did a mile last night - plus 1 hr weights (arms) not too bad for an old lady - had some lady tell me how good I look - she said you don't know me but I have seen you here and have seen your transformation - she didn't see me at 250, but like 175 I think (that's what she infered)... Told her thank you... It was a bright spot in my day Well back to work - will cbl - have a good day girls...

    I love my 100 calorie snack packs of popcorn - They don't make the WW butter spray any more - so I spray mine with the butter pam stuff.. Becky Congrats on your 45 lbs:thumbup: Yep it you eat too fast it will happen every time - at least it does for me - 3 bites eaten too fast will ruin your dinner..

Yep you all have given me more support that she has. I am so blessed to have you all in my life.. To bad we are all over the country and not closer so that we can get together...     Candice I am ok - I have had some drama with my Sis - which I knew would be coming - This is the 3rd time in my life that I have had to deal with greedy pple after the death of a loved one.. To much to go into on the interenet but it will work it's self out - But I will tell you all one thing - I have gotten the most support from you all that I have from my family (well excluding my DS & DIL) Work helps I guess - this past weekend was hard - I was very very sad. Getting back into my routine and letting go of what I can't control is helping... For all of you who don't have your affairs in order please do so - it's still won't stop the fighting but it will help.. You sound tight - but it could be the eating too fast and not chewing too. Are you stressed about anything... When you eat be mindful of eating very slow and chewing really well and see how that works out before you have any taken out... For me this stress has my band super tight.. Plus I have no appitiate (sp) right now I ate 2 bite of GS meat and it's stuck.. I think I am going to have a lean cusinse alfredo for dinner - I am down to 138 and I really don't need to lose any more weight - went to lunch w/gf from work and could only eat the top of my salad.. (chicken avacado egg and dressing)

    Candice Did you get a fill while I was out?? You sound tight.... Are you stressed about anything.. Like I said I pb'd on butternuts squash last nite had some sherbert then ate my dinner - but - I am not pbing 4 - 5 times a week. Are you eating slowly and chewing???

    I know I hate when that happens Thanks Donna & Charlene !!! You know me - it's all about doing the work... If you do the work and yes it's hard work - you will be rewarded with the weight loss.. I gotta say that my outlook has really changed about food - last night I had to go to Walgreens to get GS notebook paper - I had just left the Lawyers office (having major fricking problems with my Sis) and was a tad stressed - I really didn't eat much yesterday and went hunting for something (reese white choc pb cups) well they didn't have any - so I looked as some other stuff but it really didn't appeal to me - and I really didn't even want the white choc pb cups either (I truly have no appeitate right now - the thought of food makes me sick) but I wanted to have a pity party for myself with food.. But I realized that now and I don't eat just for the sake of eating where as before I would have eaten just cuz I was feeling sorry for myself.. So ya if you do the work and think before you eat and why you are eating whatever - it will help you now and when you get to maintenance... I think before I eat !!!

    Lori On pissings someone off - don't worry about it - This medium can be very difficult sometimes, because there are no visual or audio cues to help you and some pple are very defensive - they say they want help - but what they really want is sympathy and approval & understanding of why they screwed up,.. I have pissed a few off with my tough band love speechs.. I am not going to condone or be an enabler when it comes to pple who aren't following the rules - ya it's hard - but Life is hard... Pull up those boot straps... Yesterday I couldn't get on the site and then by the time I got home after the Lawyers office I was to mentally drain to get on the computer - hopefully things will start calming down some and I can get back in to my routine. Went to the gym Monday - did legs - sore today - I go back to night for arms - Well, just cking in - my desk is a mess gotta get too it... cbl

    Thanks... I feel 10 yrs younger and 100% better - I don't know why I wasted so many years being fat and telling myself I was ok with it.. You can do it - as of today (15 months out) I have lost 112 lbs...

    hopefulebndr - Sorry for your struggles.. I for one can eat anything I want - I have restriction - I choose to eat healthy - lots of fish (I like it) veggies - rice etc. IMHO the band is a great tool - but it's only that - a tool - the band its self isn't going to make you lose weight - only you can do that by choosing healthy foods - you can't keep eating high fat - high sugar foods - the band will let you eat these things and if you choose to continue to eat in this manner you aren't going to be a band success story. IMHO 75% of the work is up to you and the other 25% is the bands job once you get proper restriction It was stated if you could do this pre-band then you wouldn't need the band - to a point I agree as the band is a portion control device but that’s all it is - you control the calories - if you want to be successful you have to make a commitment to changing your eating habit and add exercise into your life. It's not that one piece of cake that made you fat - it was eating the whole damn thing. You can still have cake, candy, fried foods - but only occasionally - not ever day. You have to allow wiggle room (not room enough for another person) to live a normal life - but you have to retrain your brain too. The band is no diff than any other program out there - Some will succeed on WW - Jenny Craig - LA Weight - Bypass & Lapland surgery - but there are those who didn't continue with their commitment to change their eating habits and they will not succeed. Again this is my personal opinion formed from the data on the band and bypass - there are people out there that were either banded or had bypass and have put all the weight they lost back on - Why - did the surgery fail (they would like you to believe that it did - but it didn't - the tool worked) it was the person who chose to go back to their unhealthy eating habits. Plain and simple Please make a determined effort to comply with your band and the eating plan that your doctor has given you Each Doc's instructions are different - and each patient must follow their doctors instructions . It's great that you are only eating 1 slice of pizza instead of the whole thing - but IMHO this is a lifetime lifestyle change and you can't just rely on the band - you need to learn a new healthy way of eating in combination with the restriction that your band provided if you are going to be successful in the long run. As fat people we have BAD eating habits - these eating habits have to change. You have to do some of the work too by making healthy food choices and adding exercise. We do understand how hard this is – we have been there - we knows it's hard to refrain from eating Sometime some of us just don't understand why people who go through all the hassle of surgery - don't take things seriously - that they don't understand that they are going to have to work at this. I am a fat chick too - I know all the excuses why we can't do thing - it's just too hard - that why you were banded to have the tool to help (operative word help not do it for you) You do have to work - and we want you to succeed - we really do. I am working this - and I feel so much better - and We want this for all of you - we want you to have the "aha" moment.. We aren't perfect - but we understand that we have to change our old mindset and do the work - we want you all to understand this too. You will find alot of us banders giving tough love - we aren't going to sugar coat it - You need to step up to the plate and take responsibility for yourself You may want sympathy, but what you NEEDED was someone to tell you the truth. That's what you get from the experienced bandsters This medium can be very difficult sometimes, because there are no visual or audio cues to help you. So, pick yourself up and get back on the straight and narrow. Make that committment and you will be successful.

But I am looking forward to some cooler weather myself - I want to turn the A/C off.. Not much to report - I gotta say that stress really does affect my band.. I am down to 138 - heck I pb'd on butternut squash last night - but after that I ate a sherbert cone (you know the cold from the ice cream to soothe my tummy ) Then ate dinner - fish rice & the rest of the squash.. I love being a grownup sometimes cuz we can eat dessert before dinner Well as usual my desk is a mess - so gotta get to it - I will CBL

    Good Morning Gang I got to the gym last night 1st time in 2 weeks - my trainer wasn't too hard on me thankfully... But I think my calfs are going to be sore :0) Charlene - I am glad your daughter made it thru surgery ok. Yep taking care of babies again :0)... Hugs for that - and sometimes life happens but I can tell you something - even though you are writing it all down and pb'd on cake - you are thinking a little more about what you eat and how your react to food - which is more that you did before the band - the band will help keep you honesty that's why we have it and you will find (well at least for me) stress has a way of tightening you (ie pbing on cake).. Becky - There are some meats I can't eat either some times but others time I can - sometime my fish goes down real easy - other times it doesn't.. Fickled band... But you are doing great.. Ok I am swamped at work so I need to get it in gear - just wanted to ck in cuz I didn't yesterday - so say the least the drama that I was afraid was going to happen has started... I will ck back later - love to you all..

    Good Morning Gang.. Fregie was good had a good time considering I really wasn't in the party spirit like I would usually be. I was home by 10 - in bed by 10:30 and slept til 8.. So no hangover this morning - which is good but still didn't go to the gym. Monday for sure... Candice - glad you are exercising - Hope you aren't getting sick - I know yesterday I had this little cough and was worried I was getting sick. But am feeling ok today just a headache.     Awe Phyl it's Friday - enjoy 1 margarita - then switch to wine Yep that's how your body does it - down up then down again or down and nothing for a while - but look you have lost like 90 lbs which is nothing to sneeze at... You are doing excellent especially with all your traveling etc. Heck it was almost 1 whole yr before I traveled after being banded.

    Trbccown - Sorry for your struggle but most 1st fills don't do it. What does proper restriction feel like - well it all depends on what you are eating - ie hard Protein or slider foods. Proper restriction does not help with the desire to stop eating cuz I will be physically full and still want to eat - Desire is head hunger... That being said if I keep on eating taking that one more bite it will cause me to bp. For me proper restriction is being able to eat 3 or 4 oz of fish - 1/4 to 1/2 cup of veggies and 1/4 to 1/2 of cup of rice for dinner - I usually eat 1 cup for Breakfast and lunch... Dinner is always my main meal and nites are my hardest time with the desire to eat (head hunger). Some want to be able to eat only 1/2 cup per meal - for me that's not enough food - like I said I can be physically full but not mentally wereas with my dinner I am both physically and mentally full (well most of the time). What are you eating - are you taking small bites and chewing well. These are the things we need to know - how much are you eating size wise per meal...
