    Donna - I hit the candy this yr more than I did last yr too and I was 137 this morning - so I can't say it hurt me - but scares me at the same time cuz I don't want to get in the habit of dabbling in it to often as I am afraid to lose control. Ok you are eating the same foods that you ate prior to being banded but in smaller quainties - that's all good as long as they are healthy foods - I have always 7 days a week had some kind of starch (rice/pasta/tatoes) with my dinner - 1/4 to 1/2 cup. My pre-band food was full of fat and hardly any veggies and way more carbs/starches.. Tracking gives you the # of calories you are eating - you may not be eating enough.. In my weight loss phase I kept my calories between 800 - 1200 and varied them according to my hunger.. I am still doing that (varying) as some days my hunger is more than others. Today I am starving and I just ate a salad for lunch and am still hungry.. I logged my calories for the 1st year - along with weighing and measuring foods - I thought of it as a learning tool.. Now I can eyeball 1/2 cup 4 oz with pretty good accuratcy.. and it makes you accountable - it is so easy to forget those 2 cracker - then the handful of nuts or whatever you happen to snack on or mindlessly eat during the day. Tracking isn't something you have to do for the rest of your life - but think of it as a learning tool ....

    Good Morning Gang I still don't have internet at home - GS does but for some reason I still can't connect - talked to some lady from timewarner (I think they outsource) she had me so confussed I said here talk to GS - she was making no sense - even GS said the same thing - So will have to try again tonite to see if I can get it fixed... Donna - Now remember I am old and forget stuff easily :0) -are you exercising??? How is your restriction and what are you eating - Steph gave some great advice - you just need to look at this as eating healthy - not dieting - make good food choices and exercise.. That's all I have done and with the help of my band - it's worked. Steph - So glad you can eat - I don't know how you could go so long without - I still love to eat... I just eat diff stuff. Last night 1/2 hamburger patty - fido pasta - french style green beans. Lunch was a chicken thight - banana for bf. It wasn't my best day for bf but somedays it goes like that.. I love salads but hate making them - plus the whole dressing issue (which is where most salads become unhealthy and I love dressing and not the low fat kind) Congrats on the 2's - I know how good that feels.. I tried on a pair of 4's a little to baggy - the 2's just a tad too snug in the butt area and they were thin material so the bumps showed - but that they actualy fit - was a wonderful moment.. Ok - I gotta get my butt in gear - I am the only one in my dept today - so I hope the phones are quite... I will CBL

    Lori Yes your are going to have to unsubscribe to Lane Bryant, Romans, Avenue and all the other BBW catalogs... :0) I still get a couple, I just give them to the BBW of the office Becky I will be off for as of Thanksgiving (Thurs & Friday) and then the following week - I will do my holiday cleaning and decorating then. I was going to DS for Turkey day - but my work only allows 3 days berevement - and I was out 7 days - so I lost 4 vacation days - I usually take the week of Thanksgiving and the week after off - I get all my shopping for Xmas done then. I really have it pretty easy since I give everyone gift cards and a present or 2 under the tree (Son & Family comming to my house for Xmas) but my DG is only 4 so she will get presents - but don't know how they are going to get them home.. She thinks I am Santa cuz when they lived here I would go to their house early in the morning (wearing my Santa hat) to see her open presents. So cuz of that she thinks I'm Santa... Well, GS now has internet - but I still don't - will have to work on it again tonite... Computers can be so confusing - We were on the phone w/Time Warner and I think they outsource (if you catch my drift) and some dumb lady had me so fricken confussed - I said hear talk to GS as what she was telling me didn't make any sense.. Well, just cking in - I will cbl - Have a good day everyone - good food choices and drink your Water :crying:

    Lori Ya don't get hung up on the size - I still will get some tops that are larges - All I really care about is the fit.. I get off at 4 but by the time I go to the gym on Mon & Wed it's 5 so it's almost dark and it's dark when I get home - I think to us old timers - when it's dark it's time to be in the house.. The younger ones don't let that part phase them.. Apple2 2 month vacation - how wonderful - I am going to need some summer stuff when I go on my cruise in March (22) Well, don't know if my internet will be fixed when I get home - gs didn't have school today - and I told him it's the modem and he needed to call timewarner - but he said he would wait for me - I bet he will have it done by the time i get home - hopefully anyway.. So if I am up I will talk to you all later tonight if not in the morning Hugs - Janet

    I think I do have a few in my profile... Ya our MofA trip is a good idea... I will have to ck out yours and mine - I forget about that area - I don't know if I will have internet when I get home or not - I have gym tonite - so will see - Andrew didn't have school today - so I know he's been messing with it.. I am going to have to call timewarner after gym to night.. Talked to my Sis today - the coroner called w/cause of death for Michael today - enlarged heart(very very) - copd - obesity... So at least we are talking... I guess that's better than not.

Candice - Need the hugs - I am ok - Sat went to bro's to clean out the fridge etc and then just tired to get caught up on my usually weekend routine... I am glad you are getting some taken out - I bet you will be to goal within the next week I didn't have internet access this weekend - Andrew got a new computer and I am hooked up to it by wireless - the modem etc is in his room and we can't figure out how to get it working - so gotta call today to get someone out to fix or do it over the phone... I didn't have internet access this weekend - GS got a new computer and I am on a wireless link from his and we don't know how to set the new modem link up - gotta call today and get someone to come out or do it over the phone..     How cool to get to all the state - I have been thru a few and all of Canada but I was a kid.. Vermont - My Aunt had a house on Lake Champaigne (sp) It's known for it's Maple syrup & candy - so I guess a little piece of maple candy... I want to go to Louisianna and eat canjun/creolo food... crawdads etc... Arkansa & Alabama & mississippi - I guess they would be known for their bbq & or soul food - which I love... Heck I said I wanted to eat my way across America - well now I just can't eat as much.. Have fun - you are adventurer - I don't know if I would do that just for over night - but you are retired right??? So I guess you can do that kind of stuff.. Have fun enjoy !!!!

    Steph - Bread with tons of butter or cheese - yes sirree.. I gotta say I was everything - I still love fat.. I miss it the most - but gotta say I still don't take the skin off my chicken - I still eat it - not a big chicken eater - but when I do - I still eat the skin :frown: Phyl Ok at the bday party - you want that extra glass of wine or the cake - you have to choose what one thing will be your little indulgence - only one - remember you are still in weight loss phase with a goal of 12/8 to hit your 100 lbs mark... So whats more important to you that 100 of that glass of wine.. Heck take the wine and add some crystal lite juice or whatever to it - or flat diet seven up... that way you still get your wine but less of it :thumbs_up:

    Good Morning Gang Phyl - Yep I bet you are retaining Water if your rings were too tight. Ok 5.5 lbs to go to your 100 lbs mark - so let see you lose a few and then rebalance so lets give you a date of 12/8.. Thats 4 weeks... Up to that??? Just cut the wine a few time a week and make sure to you get to the pool.. You can do it... Steph - I like poptarts but never a biggie for me.. Things like mash potatoes with TONS OF BUTTER.. Don't get me wrong I love my sweets - but they weren't daily - I was just a plain over eater who ate HIGH FAT - HIGH CARBS - HIGH SUGAR .. I rarely ate veggies cuz - GS doesn't eat them and I just wouldn't take the time to fix them for myself on a daily basis.. Kari - it sounds like you and me love to put butter on everything - heck I would make a bacon sandwich and dip the bread in the bacon fat and have cheese on it too... Oh I love fat....     mzmowill 395 is not enough calories - your body is going to rebel and hold on to the weight - you really need to eat 3 meals a day and 2 healthy Snacks if needed... Remember this isnt a diet - you have to eat to live (we no longer live to eat:lol:),,, It really doesn't sound like you need a fill - if you are full on a smart one from lunch and not hungry for dinner. Why would you consider getting filled.. For me I have never concerned myself with how many cc's are in my band - All I have ever cared about is that it works. Eat healthy - exercise and you will succeed... Becky - Congrats on the Loss !!!! Becareful Girl on your shopping I did the same thing... Each month a different size - But since I do work and have to semi dress - I had to - couldn't go around in a 18/20 when I was a 10 and then can't wear a 10 when I was a 6 :cool2:. It's funny when I got to a 12 I thought that would be it - but just living my new lifestyle - got me to 4's - I would never have beleived this if you told me in July 07 that by 7/08 I would be in 6's and now 11/08 in 4's..

  17. Banded 1 yr 4 months (7/07) I am loving it - no complications I haven't been this healthy since my early 20's... 110 lbs gone !!!! Who wouldn't be happy ;o)
  18. rodriguezequal Girl - you have nothing to be ashamed of you are none of those things !!!! You were a child, you were a victim, you were preyed upon by a sick person. You made the best choice that worked for you.. There are always going to be those right wing conservatives that would have us in the back room with hangers. Those pro-lifers are hypocrites IMHO - they kill and bomb clinic's - it's just like the zealots who kill in the name of god... hypocrites If you were my child - I would have stood by you and suggested the same course of action - if that counts for anything - I would have most likely tried to hurt one of those pple who called you names.. God understands I truly believe he does - so don't let fanatics like pattygreen get under your skin...

    Hey Donna - Evilah hasn't been back since she 1st made this thread - I didn't join until I got my date on like 6/20/07 and I have never seen her since that date??? We had like 50+ pple when we 1st all go out dates - if not more than that - but now we are down to just a few who post regularly - me - peaches - phyl - step - kari - denise - some of the oldertimers will pop in every now. Heck in the beginning you would ck in at night and have 10 pages to read.. now we are lucky if we fill up a page in 2 or 3 days... You will notice as the months go by that alot of pple will drop out - then may show up for a day and then you won't hear from them again for months.... LBT has become my transfer addiction and I have made some wonderful friends here who I will always stay in contact with - so I won't be leaving anytime soon :rolleyes2:

    Hey 50 & over gang We have a new spot

    Hey Sandi My Original goal was 170 - then moved it to 160 which I got to in May but I really wanted 145 to have normal BMI - but was afraid I wouldn't get there as I have never before gotten below 165. Well, I am now 140 and maintaining just fine.. I like to be able to eat at least 1 cup of food per meal and usually for dinner it can be 1 to 1/4 - 1/2 cups - for me it's about my mental hunger as well as my physical hunger - as I have said a million times before I can eat dinner and be full on my 1 to 1 1/4 c food - but still be hungry mentally - if I was only eating 1/2 c per meal (which IMHO isn't all that healthy) I would be STARVING mentally which would make me reach for more slider foods that are higher in calories.. So I really think it's a personal choice on how much you can eat per meal and still lose weight and be mentally happy too.. That being said - since you are eating almost 2 cups for dinner - I would say yes you need a little fill.. But remember those green beans are really a slider food - how about 4 oz meat and 1/2 cup veggies - will you be full.. I follow a WW type eating plan - I learned WW when they still did exchanges - I have done the point system too but don't really remember it - I like WW as you do get starches/carbs - you eat a well balanced diet - meat, starches & veggies with an occasional treat - real life not a diet - like they always preached but I didn't hear - it's about a lifestyle change not a diet - diets don't work... I eat starches/carbs - but in limited amounts - BF is usually yogurt/granola - lunch protein & veggies - dinner fish 1/2 c rice and veggies - snacks were fruit.100c popcorn - sf pudding and sf fudgecicles and yogurts (sf) - that was what I ate during the weight loss phase - would have eggs on the weekends - I still eat basically the same - but may have a snack mid morning and after lunch - were as before I saved (budgeted) snacks for evenings (my danger zone) The point system is the same as counting calories - it's just points instead of calories - carbs have so many points protein has so many point etc.. I counted calories 800-1200 daily zig zagging them during the week and I kept a food diary for the 1st 12 months of my journey.. As to exercise - Yes for me it has been a big contributor to my success IMHO - for the 1st 8 months - I just did the treadmill at the gym (I'm lucky it's like 2 blocks from my house) I would go 4-5 days a week for those 1st 8 months - started slowly and worked myself up to 3 miles in 50 minutes. In March I got a personal trainer and started working out with the weights 2 x week - So now my exercise schedule is weights 2 x week - treadmill 3 miles 2 x week Losing weight is all about what goes in and how much energy your burn - I never hit a plateau during my weight loss phase. If you have a gym close and can afford it - I would suggest using it... If you can't - then get some exercise video (dancing with the stars) that you can do in your home - or while you are watching TV at nite - don't sit on the couch stand up and walk in place.. They have videos about walking in your own home - I know I got some on QVC a few years ago... But you gotta exercise... Ok I gotta get back to work... I will cbl....

    Kari I am with you I hate the bra lines - I am a 34 C and they make them for young pple who don't have saggy skin - I hate the way the skin sags over the bra line under the arm part.. Why can't they make wider bands... Congrats on your 5 lbs - Way to go... You will find the weight that you are comfortable with and able to maintain.. I had 160 as goal - and am down to 140 without trying just eating healthy... I have been able to maintain this weight so I think it's a good fit for me... CBL:tongue:

I was think about going red myself - infact I have appointment this month but don't know if I will do it or not - mines a dark red... I doubt I do it - if she had had the color and time when I saw the picture I would have done it.. But am a little worried I will come out looking like Lucy... Denise - Hope you had fun playing hookie - yep you are afaird to go out incase you see someone you know - I remember that well... I use to play hookie alot back in the day... Now - I rarely do... Can't remember the last time I did.. Steph - as to the thong my butt's too old for them :0) back in the day we just went comando (didn't wear them period) under our pant (pre thong days) cuz we didn't want pantie lines in our ditto jeans...     I am a WW girl - but I learned WW on the exchange system - I did the points once - but all I really remember is that I was to have 29 points a day - I think I weighted like 214 to have those many points - and you just budget them for each meal - and I know that all those frozen meals have points on them even the lean cuisine ones have what the points are.. You can join weight watchers on line - it's a very good tool - IMHO WW is the healthiest way to eat.. They also want you to keep a food diary - it has been proven that keeping a food diary will be beneficial in losing your weight.. Scientific fact !!! Take the words hope and try out of your vocabulary and replace them with I WILL.... Positive affirmations !!! If you think you can't you won't but it you think you can you will... Also I think the smart ones & lean cuisines are great for an occasional lunches and dinners. But remember this isn't a diet - are you going to eat these meals forever. You need to learn how to prepare healthy meals and know what portions sizes are really about.. When I 1st started my journey - I bought a scale and weighed and measured all my foods to learn what a real portion size was all about - now after doing that for almost 1 year - i am very good at eyeballing my servings and knowing the calories in my meals I will still pull out the scale when measuring Pasta..
