Candice - You have plenty of time to pack... I usually have the stuff I am taking on vacation on one side of the closet and then the night before throw it in the suitcase.. Going to miss you for that week - hope to see tons of pic's when you get back. xoxo J Donna - I AM SO HAPPY FOR YOU !!!
-
Lori As to size & bmi - it will work it's self out your body will find it's happy weight - my goal was 160 still had me at an overweight bmi - I just kept eating healthy and exercising and with the help of my band - I am 138-140 size 6-4 and have had absolutly no problem maintaining this weight... You are so right about having a whole department store to shop from now instead of one tiny section.. What I do is go to my fav sections and look in that section pick stuff then walk around to the other section and pick more stuff and when I have a few outfits - I go try them on - the problem is when I need a diff size I forget where I got something and have to walk around looking for that dept. But after a while you will get use to it.. Congrats on your new job and yes it's nice to have your exercise out of the way early in the day - it gives you the energy you need to get thru you day.. Becareful on those icy roads... Welcome to the new shopping experience - it is a reward in itself.

Donna - Love your picture !!!! You look like your avtar.. Yes Car we want pics !!! Karri Darling you will stay away from the peas they have carbs  if I remember correctly - I like them cuz I love wasabi - they make fun of me when we would eat sushi cuz I would ask for extra... But I have only gone once since banded and I got stuck - so I haven't been back -don't know why - I eat rice every night - must be my butter spray plus it's jasmine rice and not sticky rice and I could have eaten too fast... Was that your problem today - I know that you don't have much time at work to eat and then the whole stress issue.. I too would say I like sweets more than salty too - I have chips in the pantry all the time - and only once in a while do I reach for them but if I had a cake in there or good cookies I would be into them all the time... Why arent these pple calling you back... What's wrong with them.. Your Christmas break will be here soon - so bug them.. Hope you got to eat and had a good time at the gym... I did legs tonite and then we do abs at the end - tonite was the first time we did this thing where you put your arms in a sling and pull up your legs - I did pretty damn good for an old grandma.. Steph were are you today is the 8th you haven't posted since 6th... What's going on - is everything ok... Candice - When do you leave for Cuba... Kari - how was the time with the Family.... Ok - I burned my brussel sprouts.. well almost saved some of them - stupid me didn't put the timer on - and I must do that if I am getting on the computer cuz I completely forget about my food and time.. Having my usual fish rice veggies... Well time to go eat.. Sweet Dreams - Talk to you all tomorrow.

Evening Ladies... Back from the gym - and have a load in the wash - checking in on my Girl Friends... Phyl - we don't have much wind here in Indio - a little breeze and my work is about 3 blocks from the Marriott and we didn't have much at work either - you know you live in the center of the wind tunnel.:frown:. I get the tail end here.. Heck for Kathy - this is summer - she came from all that snow :w00t: Becky - Be careful on all that shopping - I bought a lot as I was going down - and some things only wore once or twice before they were too big - heck by your bmi - you started like maybe 5 lbs heavier than i was - so you can get to a 6 or a 4 too.. I didn't lose 3 lbs a week - there were some weeks that I only lost 1/2 lbs - others 2 a week or maybe 1 - all those losses are going to add up and at the end of a year you are going to be so surprised at what the total it.. Trust me - I have been there done that - we focus on the smaller number - cuz the one to goal seems so far away - but all those 1 lbs losses do add up... It's not a race anyway the most important thing is that you are changing the way you eat and adding exercise into your life - I bet your 2.4 miles is easier now than it was in the beginning.. I think I am done shopping - it's the part I don't really like - well I do if I have a list - but the kids just want gift cards - had fun shopping for 4 yr GD - went way over broad.. I ended up doing more shopping for me than anyone else:scared2: Well off to but dinner in the oven ... CBL :w00t:

Apples just love it when you post all that you are cooking :0) Heck I was 250 and 5'4 and I had pple saying I didn't need the surgery either - those are the pple who love you for you and didn't see the fat - and most of all - I bet you carried it well and dressed like a fashion diva at 249 I have the same problem with some pants one size a little big the size down too tight... I guess that's why they say on What not to wear - they made taylors for - but I want to wear my stuff now and not have to pay $$$ for all that alterations... So I normally hem my own pants - Cathy - I don't know much about the realize band but what's to know it's a band - for some of us it takes more to get proper restriction than others - that's why I questionned the oldtimer when I 1st got banded why everyone was so worried about how many cc's they had in their bands - cuz to me it seemed like for some it worked right away and others it didn't - All I cared about was that the darn thing worked - I am lucky my doc I guess was aggressive with mine... Who knows - all that matters is that it's working... I am lucky cuz my bladder issues have gone - well we will see when I get a bad head cold or am coughing 24/7 - but as of now I am no longer having the bladder isssues that I had before - I use to have to wear a pad 24/7.. Lori - Congratulations on your sweater - and on sale too - you lucky girl you...

Sooverit I think you s/b ok and haven't done any damage - sorta sounds like a little stuck but 4 hours later - or could be since you are newly banned just your port acting up... after your walking... When I am stuck it feels like a golf ball in my tummy - I think that peanut butter is a little thick and way too many calories - even now I have to becareful with it - you have to lick it real slow off the spoon - tiny licks.. 190 calories in like 1 tablespoons - I am still a volume eater - I want the most amount of food for the lease amount of calories... Mushies - refried Beans is mostly everyones favorite mushie - scrambled eggs (soft not hard) another good one - I also had mashed potatoes with butter spray and tuna with lite mayo - and soft fish - cottage cheese - Spaghattis sauce with riccotta cheese. - Check out the food thread... I think I could eat about 1/2 cup my 1st time on mushies - that was a 17 months ago - could have been anywhere from 1/2 to 1 cup of food - I have little bowls that hold only 1 cup that I got from Target... Darling we are all fat chick -heck I when I was on full liquids I did chew food up - but spit it out - I am far from perfect - I needed to chew - I had 10 full days of full liquids - I chewed meat and spit it in the trash - I didn't swallow:tt1: You have to follow your doc's order to the very best of your ability and when you slip - and you will - we all do - then you just gotta pull up those bootstraps and move forward - don't give up - just keep marching forward... This is not a diet - it's learning to eat healthy - low fat low surgar and exercise This is how you are going to eat for the rest of your life - heathly - not diet - so find things that you enjoy within the rules ok... It takes work and planing but if you do the work you will be able to enjoy the rewards... Hugs - You will be ok P.S. Remember and this is very important you are healing right now and you want your band to heal correctly - so remember that when you are tempted to eat something you shouldn't or too much that it could hurt you.. That alone made me stick to rules alot better - ok I say you said 6 day's out - I was still on Soup and could barely finish a whole cup.. I remember that - I went to lunch with a gf - had claim chowder and could only eat about 3/4 of it.. Also make homemade food I found it more satistfying - heck today I had my navy bean soup for lunch - I made my own refried beans. I had corn meal mush (like grits but with yellow cornmeal) with spaghetti sauce on it..

Good Morning - Almost Afternoon... Back at work - still cleaning out emails... Karri - not selfish at all - It's not about the presents but the spirit... Yep the skirt being looser is a very good sign... Well just cking in since I had a second... It's been quite... CBL

Hey Gang - Hope everyone had a good Sunday Phyl and I met Kathy from Vermont for breakfast this morning - 1st time I had eggs benedict - with salmon & spinach - it was really goo. We visited for a couple of hours - went to Target - got new house phones cuz our old ones weren't holding their charges - came home took an 1hr nap and now on the computer... Need to go fix dinner - hungry - can decide between bbq hamburger patty or something with chicken (they are both in the fridge) Well off to see what I can eat... I will ck back later... Hugs... Candice how was your girls night out...

Hey 50 & over gang We have a new spot
IndioGirl55 replied to IndioGirl55's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I am so glad you are doing so well Sooverit.... Yep each day gets better and moving to each food phase is even better... 2gooddogs - I hated my cpap - I never really stopped breathing but my breathing got really shallow while I was in a deep sleep - mine was on the low setting like 8 I think - I ditched my after surgery - I think they just said that I needed it for the sake of getting approve for surgery easier... I am a bit of a cynic (sp) at times about doctors.. Cheryl - Sorry about your stuggles and being sick - Stay away from the crackers and gatorade - they have too many calories - don't they make a lite gatorade - I don't like the stuff so I'm not sure - try the diet crangrape juice - it has only 5 calories - and the canned soups are full of sodium - so make your own - chicken breast - onion - carrots - celery - garlic - low sodium broth - a couple red potatoes - cabbage - and you have soup... If you need food ideas check out the food thread and I am attaching my sample menu of how I eat.. NaniRose - Glad you are doing well, we (Phyl - Boos (kathy from Vermont & I had brunch today) were talking about how the newly banded sometime think that their weight lost is going to be as fast as bypass pple - but it's not - we do absorb our calorie where bypass pple don't - heck I was always happy with 1/2 lbs loss - a loss is a loss and I know that we think it should be just falling off like 10 lbs a week since we are eating so much less than we did before - but it just doesn't work that way - the turtle won the race... Yep - Had a nice visit with Boos & Phyl today... It's wonderful to be able to meet in person the pple we meet here online.. Ya Phyl I guess we are lucky so far no serial killers in the bunch  Twril I am surprised that you are being banded if you are on dialysis.. But again I'm not a licensed doctor - There are complications in everything - Life is a crap shoot sometimes - you have to put your faith in God or your higher power and go from there. You are already on dialysis and say that you won't be put on a list for transplant without losing weight... So you need to do what you need to do to get on that list... Remember the band is only a tool - it's not magic - it takes work - you will have to make your food choices and exercise.. This really has to be a lifetime lifestyle change in your eating.. Best wishes for a safe surgery & speedy recovery... -
Apples, - Well me and Phyl haven't murdered anyone lately We have met 3 other 7/07 banders and they are alive and well - plus today we met Boos (Kathy from Vermont) and when we left - she was still alive :tt2:. It was great to met Kathy in person !!! She was so nice and treated us to breakfast and hopefully she will be coming to my house on Tuesday for dinner (one pot wonder will be on the menu - what I don't know yet - but that's how it usually goes - but she does like fish so maybe we will have that).. We spent 2 hrs together this morning - it's a little clouldy& cold here today and she was dressed for summer - capri's & short sleeve top & sandals - where I had on a velour slac & jacket outfit and Phyl had cord's & blazer on... She was ready for the pool !!! We were dressed for winter. I LOVE meeting my fellow banders - it's so funny you feel like you know each other for a lifetime when we meet in person for the 1st time... It's not akward at all .. We were talking about you - were your ears burning - about being our farm fashion diva .. We want a pic of you.. You are tall like my GF she has a hard time finding pants that are long enough - so now that I know fashion bug has them I can get her some - how true to size are they - I think she were's a 12 or maybe a 14 sometimes - the levi jeans I have to get in a 6 - but NYDJ (not your daughter jeans) I get a 2 or a 4... What is a yag bomb ??? My party last night was fun - a lot of pple said how good I looked and that they didn't reconigize me - heck one of the guys gave me a big hug and a pat on the butt But I wasn't out as late as you - heck I was home by 10:30 - mostly cuz I knew I was meeting with Kathy today - plus I was pooped since I was up at 4 on Sat morning - Teach - Glad you are doing well:thumbup: - I didn't go back to work till day 6 - but again I do have a couple of yrs on you :scared2: Each day you will feel so much better - and you will be looking forward to moving on to each stage of your food choices... Lori, it just keeps getting better doesn't it with this whole shopping thing... I too got a pair of cords from costco but they are the calvin klien ones - I thought about going to the bathroom to try them on cuz - I can vary from a 4 to 6 and I hate returning things.. I am still shocked when they fit... Since we are losing our insulation - I find that I am colder than in the past too.. Where are you going shopping at... I had prime rib last nite and was able to eat it - but it was on the rare side - but that's how I like my meat - I like it bloody - must be the serial killer in me  Apples & Lori Being addicted to Christmas is a good thing  I too love to put the decorations up - but it doesn't take me as long as you girls - it took me a most likely 1 full day to get my house decorated - I don't have lights on the house cuz the entry eave (sp) is too tall and I have never hung lights before just supervised - I have a Santa in a sleidgh & raindeer light up figures in my yard and red bulbs on my tree in the front yard.. My confess will be I HATE taking down the Xmas stuff... Heck it's been 1/15 and my tree will still be up some years:eek:

Good Morning Gang Yes it's Sunday and I am up at the crack of dawn AGAIN !!!! Dumb dogs... I am going to meet another Bander today from my mentor thread - Kathy from Vermont - she is in town for a convention for her work... Phyl might be coming too.. Oh Phyl you are too kind - I am just a regular person - I enjoyed having you guys over - it's fun to have company and cook for someone who enjoys it - I should have sent the bread home with Earl though - cuz I will just end up throwing it out. Kari - You aren't the lone ranger on the treats - I had my gf xmas party last night had 2 cookies and the 1/4 piece of cake - Enjoy your time with your family.. Tucson is 3 or 4 hrs I think - I know that Phoenix is about 4 hrs away Steph - I love playing cards - I don't know a lot of games - but use to play spades alot and dominio !!! I did pretty damn well back in the day... Candice - Hope you had fun at your xmas dinner & club afterwards - you know that laughter is the best medince that there is.. it's something I don't do enough of !! I think the Turkey kielbash is Jenny O - but not sure - just look where they sell the keilbasah and you will find it.. - I will have it with breakfast sometimes on the weekends.. I forgot about my animals - if you come to my house you gotta like them - cuz they love pple and will bug is you don't pet them.. Heck right now the kitten is on my desk in front of the montior !!! I can't see what I am typing - one thing I really like about cats is the purring.... So much love in that purr.... Denise - I wish that we weren't spread across the country - it's so funny how close we all have become in the last year 1/2 - who would have thunk it... Well my paper just came - going to go ck it out - then gotta get dressed again !!! I need a vacation from my vacation... I think I am pretty much done with xmas shopping - just have to get a couple little things for the kids to open up on xmas as their real present will be gift cards - but they gotta have little stuff to open - as I don't have a mantel it's something that I do want so that I can hang stockings... Ok cbl - Have a great Sunday...
-
Joann - So glad you are doing so well - and happy you don't have the gas - omw that was the worse for me.. Yes your port area is going to hurt the longest - for me about 2 or 3 weeks - not real pain but discomfort... Yes you will learn to be VERY creative with liquids, mushie - Hugs Janet Charlene - Like Lori says drinking does make it worse - I can eat shrimp - you just have to be super careful - When I had Phyl & DH over the other night for dinner - I made a little shrimp cocktail as I was making it - I had a few - ate too fast and didn't chew - slimed for a bit but it went down... Lori - yep you will swallow and say - oh i shouldn't have done it - or I will take that last bite chew and know if I swallow it I am going to be in trouble - so I just spit it out in my napkin.. I am a yr & half out and still do that at least weekly.. Charlene - Some steaks are that way for me - last night at my friends xmas party - prime rib - had to eat very slowly and a couple bites went in the napkin.. I am usually very careful when I eat out as I don't want to have a pbing episode in public.. Now at home - that's where I will be get in trouble at ... I am going to meet Kathy this morning at 11 a.m. I am looking forward to meeting her... It is so great when we get to meet each other - I think it's funny - we warn our kids - oh don't meet pple you meet on the internet - but we do it all the time  - When I was at Phyl's a couple weeks ago - we were joking about it - she was telling her friends who thought it was weird that we met on the internet - that I wasn't a serial killer

Hey 50 & over gang We have a new spot
IndioGirl55 replied to IndioGirl55's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
JB try the smaller bites and eating slower and chewing really well. If I don't do these things - I too will be full on 2 bites. Remember your vacation isn't about eating. It's about going to some where to enjoy yourself... Life isn't all about the food - Life is about enjoying being with family and friends seeing new places. And you are so right even 1 1/2 yrs out I still tend to eat too fast - not chew - etc - It's going to take a long time to change our habits. Tapshoes - You got to normal - then your brain said - Ok I can go back to eating normal - That's why I have always said this isn't a diet - don't look at your eating as a diet but as a lifestyle change - Eating Healthy most of the time with a treat now and then. Lynn - Again there are no wrong foods - don't look at it as being wrong - look at it as not being healthy - you got banded to be healthy to extend your life - If you can't control eating cookies - ice cream or whatever your food of choice is - don't have it around - don't buy it - Just say no.. That's what I do - Also - I feed my sweet tooth with SF stuff - Don't get me wrong I am not perfert - but during the holidays last yr - I said no to all the treats in the office - cuz I was going to allow myself a few cookies when my GD's and I made them for Xmas - I ate them - but I also added a couple of days more exercise that week.. It's a trade off - if you want that treat and it's 300 calories - then make your self do the exercise to burn off those extra calories - that's about an hr on the treadmill for me - so that 2 minutes of pleasure isn't worth the extra exercise most of the time.. :0) Lizalee - Well said - I agree 110% !!!! Doing OK - No girl you are doing Excellent Congrats on your 96 lbs . Lorilee - Yes my doc wouldn't give me a fill when I went in last December as I had lost 17 lbs from the last fill in October - When we 1st get banded and all we do is read about fills - that we think that we have to get them all the time - Heck next month will be 1 yr since I have had one and I don't need one - My band provides perfect restriction - I can still eat and I don't pb or slime (unless I have eaten too fast not chewed or have taken one bite too many) -
Good Morning Gang... I have been up since 4 - stupid smoke detectors going off - so was up replacing batteries I didn't replace last time it was going off.. As you know Phyl & Earl came for dinner last night - had a good visit - I am so very lucky to have them so close to me and to be real friends - I just love all of you and wish we all weren't so far apart.. OMW if I was still having my monthly I would be saying I am pmsing - as prior to it ending - I would get very emotional at that time of the month.. Last nights one pot wonder at Phyl's request was turkey kelbhas - cabbage - red potatoes - onion - bell pepper and jalapeno - I think they liked it Earl had seconds :0) and I fed Phyl out of my little bowls that hold 1 cup :0) - and for dessert be had lite bannana puddings. And yes we did have a couple of glass of wine :0) Candice - You are quilting - so I know you are stressed - it's better than eating ;0)... Government - We discussed that last night we agreed that if we regular pple ran the government we would be in a better place.. Steph - I have been terrible about my water - I just have been on the go too much.. Karri - My mom was always watching what I ate - heck had be on diet in like 3rd or 4th grade - so I became a closet eater - I want to buy 2 candy bars - but i will only allow myself to buy 1 cuz if I buy 2 I will eat 2 = if I buy one I will only eat one... Kari- Are you lurking  Donna - Yep I am lucky to have Phyl so close... She & her DH are GREAT GREAT PPLE... Well ck back later
-
Good Morning Gang !! OMW I have been up since 4 - stupid smoke detectors going off - plus I just didn't sleep well last night... At 4 a.m. I was replacing batteries.. I have been super busy this past week.. I have been on vacation but up every morning 5-5:30... On the go the whole time.. Got most of my Xmas shopping done - bought myself stuff - I bought a blouse at Cahect (sp) it a trendy shop for regular pple - I had never been in the store before just looked in the window as they don't have BBW sizes - Well I ventured in on Thursday - Gotta say that it's still very strange to go into these types of stores - I feel so out of place - I think they are looking at me saying ya right fat chick what are you doing in here - these clothes aren't going to fit you... I know that I am now a normal size - but still have this feeling of being Cinderella - that the clock is going to strike midnight and I am going to be fat again... Anyway - I bought this cute silk blouse - it was a tad expensive but I just had to buy - cuz it fit - cuz it was from a store that I now can shop in - ... Got the house decorated for Xmas - had Phyl & DH over for dinner last night.. Have a Xmas party tonite - Meet Kathy (boos) tomorrow... Back to work on Monday.. Apple - You are too funny - I think it's our age and how our Mother's brought us up - I too never go out without makeup & hair done - I can tell you it's a lot easier now adays to go out - as you know you can throw anything on and feel ok - it's not like when you got dressed before - oh I look fat in this - ya like another outfits was going to disguise 100 extra lbs :0).. Hope you had a good time at your party last night - I will be seeing pple tonite who haven't seen me since my surgery - (i didn't go to this party last year as my sister was here). I plan on looking HOT myself.. You really do need to post a pic.. Lori - Macy's has Jones of NY - and I love Ann Taylor Loft - a little less expensive and more everyday wear.. Yes you are going to be dangerous = It's so much fun to go and pull a 6 or 4 off the rack and it fits... Ok ladies - you know how all the jeans now a days are low waisted - try the Levi 512 - my hairdresser told me about them and I found them while out shopping - and they fit at the waist not below... I really like them and you can get them on sale for about $34 - and they look good - I got indigo blue and black - my new fav jeans... Joann - How are you doing??? I haven't been online that much the last couple of days - but you have been on my mind.. Hope all is well and that you are feeling better each day..

Does Your Band Stop Your Hunger
IndioGirl55 replied to IndioGirl55's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I know it keeps popping up when there isn't a new post - who know... Yep I know what you mean - this past weekend even with my restriction I was able to eat stuff I shouldn't have - like candy - but I do gotta say that I am better at stopping than I use to be - not perfect but better - and now if I do eat too much of something - I increase my exercise to compensate - as you know this is a very hard balancing act - some days we are perfect and some days we aren't It's going take more that a year or 2 to unlearn our lifetime of bad habits :cursing: -
Does Your Band Stop Your Hunger
IndioGirl55 replied to IndioGirl55's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Band Groupie Now this is my personal experience - I gotta say that what we consider hunger (physical) is alot of times really head hunger.. Lapband surgery isn't about dieting - it's about making a lifetime lifestyle change in your eating and adding exercise into your life... Diets dont work... Some pple do atkins as that's what works for them - me personally I follow a WW type eating plan - and my doc's rec's - meat first then veggies then carbs if any room... Once you get proper restriction - the band does make you feel fuller on a smaller amount of food and you will stay full longer - but I am here to tell you that I can be physically full and feel the need to continue to eat.. I just want pple to be prepared for that - so many think that the band is the magical answer to their issues with food - it isn't - the majority of our problems are in our heads. The band makes the hard job of losing weight easier - but it's just a piece of plastic - it doesn't make your food choices and it doesn't exercise for you. Being hungry isn't going to kill you - heck it's normal to be hungry - but it's not normal to feed that hunger 24/7 with high fat - high sugar foods.. The band isn't going to stop you from eating 3 candy bars or 1/2 gallon of ice cream - but it will stop you from eating 16 oz steak... So just be prepared that it's still work - it's not a walk in the park - for me it really doesn't take away what I preceive as my hunger as my mental hunger is still there.. And it takes time to figure out what is real hunger and what's mental hunger.. Again this is my experience.. I love my band - without it's help - I would not have lost 110 lbs - but again I have worked very hard at making this a lifetime lifestyle change by eating healthy and exercising.... -
There is a girl here on lbt - Wasabubblebutt - she had the band lost her weight and then due to some kind of issues with spasams she had to take out her band and she had the sleeve surgery... Insurance companies have too much power imho.. It just like ps not being covered - stupid if you lose 100 lbs or more it should be..
-
Good Morning Gang.... Had a busy yesterday - Got baby GD Xmas shopping done. Now have to get the rest of the family today.. I am going to have to go back to work to get some rest.. Karri - her cost $4200 dr - operating room $2850 - anestheisa $1750 - garment $120 - Cosmetassure $180 (insurance in case of infection or whatever since my reg health insurance won't cover ps) and then $40 for some kind of meds for something - she gave me $914 discount $8226 for her and $800 (about) for stay in aftercare facility. I didn't think it was too bad considering her office is one block from Rodeo Dr.. She said it would take about 4 hours to do my arms and that she does all the sewing and doesn't turn that over to an assistant - she was suprised to see that I do have muscle under all the saggy skin.. That was nice to hear.. I would love to go to your doc - but she's too far away - Phyl said she might ck out your doc once she is ready for her ps.. Yes we know that your body doesn't like carbs ;0) .. I am lucky that mine doesn't react like yours cuz I would die.. I have to have a little not alot but some... Donna - I loved what you said - it's so very true - this surgery is for us to learn a lifestyle change and just last night Phyl and I were talking about NEVER wanting to be obese again - this new weight just feels so good - I don't want to be trapped by the fat ever again.. Car - I like lose peas too.. But they have alot of sugar/carbscalories in them - I don't remember what - but enough for me to stay away cuz they are habit forming... Steph - One day at a time - I have been so bad on my water.. Being in the car so much I don't want to drink cuz I don't want to stop and go pee - and hell in LA traffic - I think you would need a porta potty - cuz there is no way to get on and off the freeway quickly.. Candice - Hugs about your work issues.. I know how hard that is.. Vacation is in a week - so just make good food choice and enjoy your time away - I want to see some pic when you get back.. Canadians want to over throw your own government - omw - sounds worse than ours - we don't get much canadian news here - well I don't cuz I barely watch the new - and I don't watch CNN or Fox at all - just our stupid local news and that's enough to depress anyone.. Heck - the shooting at the Palm Desert Toys R Us - can't beleive we made national news and our local channel won't let it go - I was there yesterday shopping for brooke... Kari - I love Nora Roberts - What the name of the book and omw you have turned into an exercise freak !!! Denise - Sorry to hear you are still under the weather - I need to get a flu shot... I don't want to be sick.. Hope you are feeling better today.. Phyl - I have roadrunner - it's good - Now you will be able to do all your computer stuff when you want and not at midnite:0- Well, Just cking in - I did read the post last night but it was like 9 and I hadn't eaten and I was hungry and tired -- so I didn't reply

Hey Cathy - Love the new pic - looking good girl - what is transobrital taping surgery?? Prior to losing weight I had to wear little protection pads - but no more ... Joann - you won't be whining :0) - We are here for you and I am glad you are staying overnight - they have good drugs :0)... When you feel up to it let us know how you are doing.. Hugs & Prayers... Janet Lori congrats on the job and reason to exercise !!! How long since your last fill.. My doc wouldn't give me a fill in Dec 07 cuz I had lost 17 lbs from my fill in October.. Apples - eyelash extentions - oh girl I want a picture... how long do they last?? do you wear mascara over them... You are a fancy girl - here I thought you were a farm girl... Glad you did something for your self !!! - As to the weight issue - what are you concerned with - I could go as low as 120 and be in the normal weight range - heck it just gives you a few lbs to play with.. Charlene - if I ever lost my band I would go to Mexico and get a sleave done... I never want to be fat - how come insurance will pay for bypass but not a sleeve... Stupid imho if the insurance companies even cared.. Yep Becky you are ok - you just slow down - I still eat too fast like tonite it's 9 and I haven't eaten - got a call from Phyl - been paying bills - my stupid printer isn't working.. and I need to get off the computer and go fix something...

I will reply to all 3 of the above in one swoop ... I have the same problems - I have to clean my plate 99% of the time - I will be full on just my fish - but have to eat my rice - I will eat that some times before my veggies - sometime I don't have room for the veggies - but like Karri - I am usually within my calorie allowance.. This weekend at my DS's I ate donuts and candy... I seem to do this when I am away from home - I eat more sweets. Yes Steph & Karri - I don't think fills are the answers - it the whole control issues - this is why I always say 75% of the work is up to us.. We can't rely on the band to starve us - then we just eat around it... Karri I like your calories - good choices - Steph - we all love our carbs - I still do - last night (you will read the story in a few about my trip ) I hadn't eaten all day - stopped to get gas - can't really eat fast food and I don't care for it that much.. But I got Frito's and jalepone cheese dip - ate about 1/2 the can of cheese dip and some fritos - came home ate 1 cup pasta (pb's on it then finished it) then 2 sherbet ice cream cone and then 1 candy bar - ya - I was still under my calories for the day - but crappy food choices... The scale was 138. this morning - but I am not eating correctly.. Well tonite I will and for the rest of the week cuz I am home and I do better at home Kari - I agree - exercise more when you eat more helps.. But the exercise does have to burn more that what we are stuffing in our mouths and I know that it takes me 1 hr to burn like 300 calories - so .... I love that we are dealing with our issues - this is good this is VERY VERY GOOD. This is a process and we are going to all have to work on it for the rest of our lives.... We have all lost tons of weight but we still have food issues... That's why we have each other and our thread - so that we can talk about it - we are here for each other and how each of us are dealing with them... Hugs ladies - you are not alone we all have these issues - the damn cat is in front of my screen - i can't see what I am typing :smile2: OK I just moved her - I can type without seeing what I type :cursing: OK here's my story from yesterday.... and let me tell you it's a fricking story !!!!!! OK I have put 1500 miles on my car since last Friday... I will tell you something - I would never never never live in Los Angeles... OMW the fricking traffic - I didn't get home till 9:00 last night.. OK here's my days events I thought my appointment was at 11:30 (you know how you get something in your mind) so I left here at 8:30 allowing 3 hrs to get there - Well I missed the turn off for the 10 and got on the 101 (hwy) and knew I went too far - I am a little familiar with the area from years ago.. So called Dr office and got directions (girl was great) so get there at 11:30 and she tells me my appointment wasn't till 2:30 OMW now what to do (oh ya - had about $10 cash not thinking I needed $$ - well in LA you gotta pay for parking :tt2:) so I left found a mall - and walked around and tried on some clothes - didn't get anything - found an ATM got some cash - then left about 1:45 so I could get back - well got lost again - stupid me (my son is giving me a tom tom navigation for Xmas but I needed it yesterday :scared2:) - finally go to the doc office 15 minutes late... Like the doc alot e - I told her my arms were what bugged me the most but I wanted cost for the works - she said one thing at a time and that the works would be about $50k  (which is what I assumed) So she show me pic's of other patients - scar would be on the inside of my arm (these pic's were of older ladies and you could barely see them)- It would take about 4 hrs - and that she herself would do all the stitching cuz that's the most important part and she doesn't give that over to a nurse.. I would stay at an after care place overnight - and then she would see me the next day I would then go home and come back in a week - OK ready for the cost - and she gave me a 10% discount - for her the hospital - anethiease (sp) $8229 then about $800 for the after care overnight stay... Plus I would most likely have to get a car services to take me... so lets say $9k for the whole thing... Plus I gotta figure out when to schedule it... OK I gotta go put my face on - Have hair appointment this morning - so will ck back later - have a good Wed everyone.. Hugs....

Good Morning Gang.... Lori in June I went to my Sisters and gained like 2 lbs - and just like you I really didn't do anything too bad to cause it - but it came off in about a week - Heck I did eat this past weeked - candy - macaroni salad even a donut - and I am 138.5 this morning - so it will come off.. I know how hard this is on you - here is something weird that I have learned over the years - the weeks that I exercised the most I didn't lose very much - but then the next week I might not exercise as much and that week the lbs came off.. It's very strange - but I still find it to be true - so don't sweat it... Well I know you will but try not to too much.. Charlene - Yes being too tight is worse than not having restriction IMHO.. I have to be able to eat... I am doing ok - I had my stepbro, uncle and 2 nephews over for Turkey and then left Friday to go to DS house up north - didn't come home til Monday(it was GD 14th bday on 12/1 and my Sis's 60th on Friday - so I got to see them both for their bdays) - then Yesterday wen't for PS consultation (see below for those details) Yep the 1st set of holiday's are the worst - I know this already but I have family around so it's not too bad.. Each year I would invite my bro for turkey but he would never come - he was a bit of a recluse - plus he didn't like to drive anywhere cuz then he couldn't drink and he liked his wine.. JoannMarie - Tomorrow's your day - How are you doing today?? I was nervous so not eating wasn't a problem for me - I am diff than most pple I don't eat when nervouse or upset.. What time is your surgery?? Do you spend the night in the hospital.. I am not going to tell you it doesn't hurt cuz when I woke up I was in a little pain - but again this was only my 2nd surgery in my life - but they have great pain meds - walk to keep the gas down- that's what hurt the most - know that each day you will feel better and better - heck Phyl didn't have to stay overnight (if I remember correctly and she was like 63 when she had her surgery - she's a trooper)... Hugs & Prayers for a safe surgery and speedy recovery... Kathy - no restriction yet?? are you eating soft foods or hard Proteins... I would tell your doc when you go in January that you want your tool to work - so give you a good fill - heck you can always have some taken out if it gets too tight.. See you this weekend.. Apples - wha't on the menu for today :0) Holly- As long as your insurance covers the band - you really shouldn't have any problems... Becky I do find that exercise makes my band a little tighter - I go to the gym 4:15 or 5 depending on my schedule but I don't eat til 7:30 or 8 most nights... and sometimes I can barely eat my fish - but if I go very slow I do get it all in - just slowly... How is it when you drink Water?? You may need just a tad like .01 taken out... OK I have put 1500 miles on my car since last Friday... I will tell you something - I would never never never live in Los Angeles... OMW the fricking traffic - I didn't get home till 9:00 last night.. Ok here's my days events I thought my appointment was at 11:30 (you know how you get something in your mind) so I left here at 8:30 allowing 3 hrs to get there - Well I missed the turn off for the 10 and got on the 101 (hwys) and knew I went too far - I am a little familar with the area from years ago.. Got home around 7 - and was in bed by 9  up this morning at 5:15 - Have to drive to Beverly Hills for PS consultation - heck I put 1000 miles since friday - and today will be another 250 or more ... Apple I think I have large 14 too with 5.5 in it - something close to that anyway... Holly - Welcome - how tall are you - My understanding is if your bmi is over 35 but less than 40 you have to have 2 comorbities - but each insurance is diff - so it will be up to them. I was lucky I have BC PPO and my bmi was 42 with high blood pressure - mild sleep apena (sp) so I had no problem getting qualified... Charlene- How are you today.. Well gang got color on my hair - the kitten is all over my desk and keyboard.. Need to jump in the shower - will ck back tonite.. Love & Hugs Janet
