Lori The TMI subjects are just fine cuz we all have the problems I find that when I don't drink enough Water I will get constipated.. Also if you don't have enough fat in your diet it will cause it to. One time with WW I like cut my fats down to nothing and had problems. I am normally pretty regular - if I don't go one day I don't worry - but after 3 days I take a ducolax. Also I have Caltra Calcium chewables - I will eat a couple of those at bed time and it seems to help too. What is Miralax?? I will have to look for that - it's a liquid? My hairdresser says that the hair loss is from lack of fat in our diet not the Protein - I had a gf go on medifast - she got her protien - but lost her hair - so the whole fat issue makes sense to me - I have cut my fat quite a bit - but I still get it in my diet..

Hey Candice - Glad you had a GREAT time and Safe trip - what a pain though to get that far and have to turn around and change planes :thumbup: Heck those 4 lbs - is most likely water weight from all the eating out - I'm the same way too - a couple days of drinking and I get burned out - LOBSTER - I love it... Got any pictures to share !!!!

I would say that on the average I eat between 1500-1800 a day - But tonite it will be more like 3000 :eek: (just kidding - well hopefully :thumbup:) Tonite is cookie baking night !!!

Apples - I throw a little extra in every few days or maybe once a week - Last night had the apple pie al sf ice cream almode - and I don't sweat it - I just don't do it every single day... You will be fine - if you aren't we will get you back on track :smile: --------------------------------------- Ok gang I am heading home in about 20 minutes - I have gym tonite - since I have family at the house don't know if I will be back online tonight... I FF thru the commercial too and rarely watch the food channel anymore - sometime I do with my popcorn..:smile: Karri - Hope the pipes are ok - As to being colder - yep I think we all do - we have less insulation :wink: now a days.. You are on vacation for the next 2 weeks - lucky girl - but I bet a million dollars that you will be doing school stuff while you are off - well maybe not so much since you are going to Vegas for a few day. Hi Gypsy Gril !!! Welcome !! There are failures with all WLS - It just depends on the person - I don't care if you have had bypass or band or sleeve... If you don't follow the rules and the way you look at food - you are not going to get to goal - These surgeries are little helpers with our portion control (and with bypass they don't absore the calories from their foods like we do - but evenually that goes away some as their body adpats to the surgery). For me my band really doesn't take away my hunger - it just keeps me full longer - I still have major head hunger issues - I am just finding ways to deal with them other than feeding them (well need to quantify that 98% of the time I deal with them 2% I feed them) Advice - Eat heatlhy - Exercise - follow the rules - Protein first - veggie - carbs - eat low fat sugar free - small bite, chew and eat slowly... Kathy Yep I kept a food diary for the 1st year - and even now I try to keep track in my head - but it so very easy to forget - a bite of this or a drink of that. Today - Orange for Breakfast - lima bean Soup for lunch & 85 cal candy before lunch - I am trying to eat a little lighter today as I had apple pie last night - and will be making cookie either tonite or tomorrow with GDs...

Apples - I think your body is going to find it's happy weight. I was happy at 145 - but by doing nothing more that eating healthy & exercise I have gone down to 138 - and I have stayed here with no problems - So I think this is just my happy weight. If you are really worried about getting too thin - then get some of your fill taken out so that you can eat more. Charlene - Well that's what happens when you speed read you miss stuff :scared2: - How fun for the kids - I say a SUV with snow on the top of it Saturday - Yes pple here in the desert go to the mountains and bring home snow.. It's suppose to maybe rain today - and on Xmas Eve and maybe Xmas - We are suppose to be in the high 50s the rest of the week.. Becky - 2 pieces of fudge isn't that bad - I find that those little treats will actualy help the scales move downwards. I found vanilla ice cream by bryers - made with splenda - 80 calories for 1/2 c vs 145 for regular - so has it on top of my piece of apple pie last night:eek: Lori - some pple are just so jealous - I saw a girl the other day who hadn't seen me in a long time - a casual friend - 1st thing she said - Oh you aren't going to lose anymore are you you as soo skinny (get has gained like 30 lbs in the last yr). I told her to shut up - that I was normal - I wasn't too skinny.. I think Feb 13th... Not 100% but 99% sure... Patti - Glad you are doing better - that 2nd fill should help.

Good Morning Gang.... Omw Phyl - how scary - how did is go last night? How did your dessert come out... Kari - It was cold here for us but nothing like what you have to deal with.. It's 43 right now 7:30 a.m. Well, yesertday got my gift cards - target stuff - food for the week - while at Winco - called DS to see what he wanted to eat - I expected them around 2 a.m. last night/or this morning however you want to look at it - I called him about Noon and asked if he wanted pork chops - well - come to find out they were on their way and would be here around 4:30 ish - Thankfully I called cuz they were going to surprise me by being here early - but if I hadn't known they were coming - I wouldn't have had anything for them to eat for dinner - cuz I was planning a chippino (sp) for me.. When I woke up this morning - I feel like oh just another day at work - didn't seem like I had a weekend at all with all the running around - will be busy now with the house full and holidays - As I was sitting here waiting for the computer to boot up - I was thinking how very blessed I am and how much I have to be greatfull for even with all that has happend this past year... Well just cking in - will cbl :biggrin::scared2:

I posted here yesterday morning - but I don't see it!!! Long - I may have been confusing you with someone else - I thought it (bmi) was like 51 - your actual bmi - is about the same as mine - I was like 42.9 I agree with all of you - the bmi chart doesn't take into consideration of your age - frame - etc... Well it's just a guide line in my opnion - we all carry our weight differently Hey Shortgal OMG you have done wonderfull - I am so happy for you and proud of what you have accomplished even with out your band... You are doing FANTASTIC... Yep at first venturing into the regular section of the store is nerve racking - but now I have it down pat.... Loving it but my check book isn't -
Gang - How is everyone today !!! Well, yesterday 3.5 miles:thumbup: - p/u GD, went out for lunch insides of a taco and 1/2 the shell - went to bed bath & beyond looking for something to roll out cookies on - as I have tile counter tops - OMW a piece of plastic (large type cutting board) $50 + couldn't beleive it - found some silicone mat that I am going to try.. Went to Coscto and got prime rib & veggies for xmas dinner - today wil get the rest of the stuff I need Candice are you home yet ??? Did you and DH have a good time...

It's time to rise and shine ... I was up at 5:45 a.m. today - slept in I went to the gym did 3.5 miles in 1 hr - came home showered dress left to ck bro's house & po box and then to p/u GD at airport - went to lunch ate the inside of a taco and 1/2 the shell - then went to bed bath & beyond - got some candles - the costco and got the Prime Rib and asparagus for my Xmas Eve dinner - then got cat & dog food.. Had the enchillda and bean from lunch for dinner... That's one good thing - my lunch now covers 2 meals instead of just one when eating out :tounge_smile: Sampled some candies at Costco & Target - wanted sweets when I got home - but had a white hot choc instead when I got home - The only bad thing I did was have a cup of fritos - but slept well last night I am going to try to make choc chip cookies with splenda instead of sugar - the sugar cookies I bought Krussels (sp) cookie dough mix - and 4 can's of butter cream frosting :eek: but won't be making cookies til monday night or tues night... So I guess the gym will be my home away from home for the next week :tt2: Today I will go to the store and get the rest of my weekly groceries and some gift cards and I am done. Maybe get a nap in this afternoon and catch up on my recorded tv programs - last night watched 3 or 4 episodes of Brother & Sisters... Still have 1 more ER to watch & Gray's ... I know Apples had a busy weekend - hope you had fun.. Joann - How are you doing ??? Hugs I know that you are most likely sad (doggie) & happy (band) right now but know that we are here for you.. Becky - No report of your food yesterday :smile: did you get into the cookie dough again Boos - How are you doing - how's the food diary going.. Good Morning Gang Yes it's your Rooster (up at 5) Telling you to rise & shine.. I love it when we talk about our issues - even this far out we all still have them - and most likely always will - I think that this battle of the buldge will be a lifetime battle. It will get easier someday and other days we will have more struggles - but we are educating ourselves - which will help us on those struggle days. I forgot to speak to the selfish issue - Which I really wanted to - cuz I have been saying it since day one - yes it's ok to be selfish - loving yourself really isn't being selfish imho. Like I alway say - sometime it is about you... :laugh: Well, I am waiting for 7 to go to the gym !!!! Then to the airport to p/u GD (Kaitlin 14) then finish my shopping - in talking to my dil last night they need some thremals - and if I can find one maybe a Wii & fitness - I love it they wait til the last minute to tell me things... Heck my dil hasn't done shopping for ds - but I doubt that ds has shopped either - he's not the most best gift giver when he has to come up with the ideas... I made this great new one pot wonder - sorta inspried by a soup that Phyl told me about - but mine wasn't a soup cuz I didn't have the stuff to make Onion, bell peppers, jalapeno, rice, zuchinee, shrimp & scallops, corn - tomatoe sauce & el pato (spicy mex tomato sauce) = Oh it was very very good ate 1 1/2 cups !!! Ok the dryer just buzzed -so gotta go fold clothes - cbl:w00t:

Flowers You are doing great - you have to take into consideration that you have a lower bmi than what most of us .. That's a factor too.. If I remember correctly Longs started out with a high bmi... So she is going to drop the weight faster - and again all our metabolizms are diff.. I can't beleive that at 181 you can barely zip an 18 - I was an 18/20 in pants at 250 and 22/24 tops... Where are you buying your clothes :laugh: Even with shipping which takes 10 days most - you have plenty of time - I really would wait until April at least.. Lori - Don't feel bad - you need to be very very proud and there is nothing wrong with being proud of your accomplishmenst and posting to that effect... Heck - I think Wasabubblebutt lost her weight (100 at least in maybe 6 or 8 months) it can be done - it depends on the work you put in and metabolisam.. Denise - You changed your name:scared2: - What are you trying to do Confuse this old broad:redface: - For me prior to being banded I was a total couch potato - I think exercise along with my healthy eating is what got me to goal within a year - I think that my body needed the exercise... How's everyone doing today !!! Busy I know getting ready for Christmas - Family - Friends - Parties & cooking.. I was busy at work today - Went and had my nails done when I got off work - I need to go in my closet and go thru my presents to make sure I have everything - Tomorrow gym in the morning - p/u GD from airport at 11:30 and need to food shop for family coming - need to wrap presents - but have been waiting for paper to go on sale - I would assume Sunday it will. I have some - so I guess I could start.. Problem is w/baby GD 4 - I can't put presents out until after she goes to bed on Xmas Eve. Well Im hungry - don't know what I am going to eat - but will figure it out - I really want Mexican - maybe I will put el pato sauce on my fish Ok just cking in - I will cbl :laugh:

Lori - Well said GF - couldn't agree with you more - It's really about the health aspect for us - the looks is icing on the cake... And yes most of us 50+ are a whole lot smarter than the younger ones - as the saying goes - Youth is wasted on the Young... -
Karri I gotta say too that I haven't really dealt with my food issues - I still feed them - Nights - but for me I just do it in such a way that I an not consuming too many calories As you all know I am allowed snacks - but I usually save them for night time - most nights when I am eating my popcorn or sherbert - it's not cuz I am hungry - it's cuz I am bored and also to self-medicate to be able to sleep - sugar makes me sleepy - I crave sugar at night.. But that being said - I really find that head hunger manifests it's self in to physical hunger - that's why so many fat pple say it's true hunger and not head hunger - for me my body is craving wanting demanding to be fed... I also eat past full at times - I was real proud of myself the other night ate 1/2 of my scallop/lean cusine meal - was full and stopped and put the rest up for lunch the next day.. Most days I can eat the whole thing with just the last few bites being too much.. So maybe my restriction was just a little tighter that night - who knows.. Also, like on the weekends - I can go all day without eating then at night once I start I know that I can go over board in the calorie dept cuz I haven't eaten all day.. So let it be known that I am at goal - and have maintained for a while now - but can't say that I am perfect - I just have learned how to feed my hunger/head issues within a certain amount of calories a day - so in away - I am walking a very slipper tightrope - and in the back of my mind - I am waiting to fall off... or should I say - very aware of the fact that I could - Frustration - I have that at work that's why I don't keep food at my desk cuz I would munch all day... Maybe tonite I will ck out that link - last night I was on facebook - tons of other banders are there - Jackie - Donna - Linda - Kathy - Phyl - Step - and that had me going last night trying to figure it out and that kind of stuff keeps my head hunger issues at bay - so much so that I burnt my dinner - but was able to salvage most of it :biggrin:

Yep - all we can worry about or control is right now - we can't change what happend yesterda - we have no control over tomorrow today - the only things we have to concentrate on is the now I had fiberone bar for bf - top of cobb salad for lunch (it wasn't mixed all the good stuff on top - turkey cheese a little avocado w/ranch dressing ... No candy so far today :biggrin: not even a bite :sad:

Donna - you aren't the lone ranger in that aspect - That's why for me avoidance is key - last yr GS bday made cupcakes - they were calling my name - so I put them in a baggie and said if you want these put them in your room - most times if they are out of sight then out of mind for me - key word is sometime - cuz I did this with halloween candy but I did go in there and snagged some..

Welcome Blklab70 - PB - productive burp - burp w/food in it - a little like throw up but without the acid - food will get stuck - you will slime (body producing saliva) to get stuck food down - sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't and you bp. This is why it's important to follow the banding rules - tiny bites - chew very well and eat slowly - if you do these things your chances of bping are very low. I was 52 when banded - I lost 100 lbs in 1 yr - so I can't say that being over 50 was a negative. But that being said - I lost the weight cuz I made a lifestyle change in my eating and exercise. The band is only a tool - nothing else - it's not the magical answer to our issues with food - That (the magical answer) is in our heads. How fast or slow that you will lose the weight will depend on many factors - your metabolism and the effort that you put in to changing your eating and exercise.. Once you have proper restriction (sweet spot) it makes you feel full on a smaller amount of food - for me 1 cup - but again the band doesn't make your food choices for you - as you can eat around it - slider foods as we call them - ice cream - candy etc slide right thru - and you feel no restriction when eating these types of food. The band makes the hard job of losing weight a little easier - but it's still work - My fav saying is that I did 75% of the work by changing my eating habits (low fat - sugar free (for the most part) and some starched but not alot) and exercising and the band did 25% by providing restriction. Again welcome and good luck on your journey... -
