Charlene - Hugs & Continued Prayers for family !!!! Ya turning to sugar - it was after halloween and I had left over candy - had it put up in GS bed room so that I wouldn't eat - then started feeling sad about all that I went thru with the death of my bro - I went and got that candy - ate about 6-10 mini candy bars - thinking I deserve it cuz of all that had happend - you know what I realized (after I ate the candy - not before :confused:) it that it didn't make me feel any better - it really didn't taste as good - It didn't stop me from doing it - but gotta say at least now we are thinking more about what we put in our mouths - and that's at least a start - as long as we are taking those experiences and learning from them - which I truly beleive we are doing slowly but surely - baby steps sometime... So the next time we have some trama in our lives maybe we will know better than turning to food - as it really doesn't make us feel better - its really just hurts us more..... -
My Bad - - Age what can I say !!! - Car is an original 7/07 lucky #7 bander she was here originally then sorta dissappeared for a while and now is back :0) - and yes Donna our 7/08 baby... Congrats on the Good food day - Yes protein 1st is always the best way to get full fast Last night I didn't really eat bad just not super great but again I was super tired yesterday - BF SB bar 140 & spinach 35 - Lunch ham/cheese sandwich on lite bread 175 - Dinner - 1 1/2 beef rib 200 ? a grilled ham cheese sandwich 250 - Popcorn big bag 200 - few bites of this and that chips/hot sauce 300 c - sherbet ic cone 150 - juice 240 - min 1690 calories for the day - most likely closer to 2000 who know's what I am forgetting and I am forgetting something - oh ya 100 c cheese - Karri HAPPY ANNIVERSARY !!! Has it been a year already!!! Omw time sure flys - Have a great time in Vegas... Phyl Hope you don't blow away today !!!! We have been lucky this year hasn't been as windy as last year - but it sure was blowing last night and this morning... Have fun with Tracy - at least we do have sunshine.. BTW how much longer are you here??? When are you planning the trip home?? Karla - Hugs - one day at a time - and you can only do what you can do - We are hear for you... Well ladies (steph & denise especially) going to see MY MAN tonite - Yes that's right - I have a date with Trace Atkins tonite !!!! It's a sold out venue - sure glad that I got my tickets as soon as they went on sale (2/9 at 10:01 a.m :confused:) Well next week is a short week for me - we have Good Friday off and I am going to see DS and family for Easter - So I won't be around again next weekend :0) Need to get some work done - CBL.. Denise & Candice how are the Mom's doing - oh ya speaking of Mom's Steph we never got any pic's of Rose's FL !!!!

Good Morning Gang GS was on my computer doing homework last night - something about he can do it better on mine instead of his?? Doesn't make sense to me - but who cares as long as he is doing his homework - plus I was super tired when I got home yesterday - took a little catnap when I got home.. Apples - Welcome home - glad you had a good time - did you win any $$$ :0)... Did you go to the outlets?? Thanks I think GS is handsome but again he's my heart :0)... Oh Yea - I love hearing about all your cooking - so don't stop.. It's about eating healthy not depriving ourselves... Rose - I think it's breaking up - the only thing is along as I take a clariden it drys me up - but then when I don't take it I am all snotty again - Upper respiratory (sp) cough... Exercise - well you are doing good - just make sure you do interval kind of workouts - intensity then slow then intense then slow and every few weeks kick it up - as it gets easier (and it does) just bump it up some - I use to do like a mile - then 2 - then 3 - Now I do 3.5 to 4 miles in my hour. I don't exercise for more than an hour at a time - that's enough for me - I am the exercise cop but it's not something I want to spend hours doing... Don't love it that much - I do love how much stronger I am and I do contribute that to weight training - the first 8 months all I did was treadmill then March 08 started weights I can see and feel the diff in my body with the weight training - Muscle !!! If I didn't have such batwings - I would have Kelly Ripa arms !!! Plus the more muscles you have the more calories you burn by just being... TGIF !!!! I'm going to see Trace Atkins tonite at Agua Calientie Casino tonite !!!! I saw him last year (5/08) in Laughlin and let me tell you that he is God's example of how men should be- Love that man - big tall sexy and can move.. Can't say I am a big country girl - But LOVE Trace !!!! Well - it's a short week next week and I'm going to see DS and family for Easter (won't be around next weekend)- Haven't seen them since Christmas - and missed my GD 5th bday so I told her we would celebrate when I came for Easter and gotta take 14 yr GD to find the right makeup that doesn't aggervate her pimples - CBL gang !!! :confused:

Hey Brandy !!! What's Up !!! Ya we all need one kind of lift or another. .. You are doing great on your weight :smile2:- keeping pretty constance at a happy weight for you - I would say I am at my happy weight too - I like to keep mine between 138-140.. We only have 1 new member Karla - both Steph & Salsa have been with us for over a year now - and I think you have stopped in about 6 months ago.. Pop back in when you can - what are you doing to keep so busy???

Karla Hugs & Prayers for you and your family Steph You got me cracking up - I'm busy at work that's all :0) 12 miles a week isn't bad 3 miles x 4 = but for me any more than 15 would be pushing it - I do 3 to 4 miles on Tuesdays & Saturdays - now way am I going to walk 7.5 mile 6 days a week - that's just way too much exercise even for me :0)

Hi Brandy It's called the 5 day pouch test - here's the link Surgical Weight Loss 5 Day Pouch Test How in the heck do you think you have screwed up - - you have lost 40 something - you have what maybe 10 - 20 lbs to lose to get to your goal - how in the heck is that screwing up - I haven't had a fill in over a year - once you get to your sweet spot my doc says I may never need a fill again... Eat healthy - exercise - you will get to your goal..

Gypsy I am the same way with sugar - once I start - oh boy watch out - I would (in the past) devour a whole bag of Reese's pb cups or 1 or 2 of those giant Hersey with almond candy bars. Sugar = Heroin !!!!:wink: Now adays when I am eating something that really doesn't taste that good as I imagine - I think to myself - is this worth the calories - in the past I never cared about the # of calories I was consuming - but now I am VERY aware - so if it really doesn't taste that good - I throw it away.. Avoidance is key for me - I don't buy the stuff so I can't eat it - Yes everytime I am in the checkout line at the stores - those candy bars are calling to me - but I just say no - 98% of the time - and when I do have a planned indulgence I buy ONE candy bar and I am not talking kingsize either - just 1 reg candy which usually has 220 calories. -
Good Morning Gang !!! This stupid cold is a pain in the butt !!! Had me up coughing at midnite... Julie how are you doing this morning?? Not much to report - ended up having 1 beef rib and 1/2 cup pasta for dinner - no veggies - I know bad girl - but I have some spinach at work so I will eat that for my BF today :wink: Well justing cking in - will cbl :confused:

Rose Also you have a lower BMI too - so you aren't going to lose it as fast as those of us who had higher ones... It's all about good food choices & exercise - It's not a race - remember the turtle won the race... Hugs......

Beachlover - OMW that was an ordeal... Glad it's over - It can take a good 24 hours if not longer for a fill to settle in - this is why some doc's are so conservative with their fills. I'm lucky my Doc is about 20 miles away - and he gives all his patients his cell #... Most ER docs dont know anything about our bands... Glad you are doing better... Sharon I totally agree with you about not pushing the exercise so much that it becomes a chore cuz then you will quit - My Uncle and I discussed that about 6 months ago - I was pushing myself just a little to hard - and I realized that if I kept that up I would burn out and quit - I still challenge myself and do push myself some days - but others I just do the norm and it's working.. I like bananas too - I have to take tiny bites and eat super slow - and I will also cut them up and put them in some lite vanilla yogurt - that helps them not get stuck... ---------------------------------------------- Well, Gang quite tonite - I have been to the gym 1 hr weights legs - then came home and paid bills and talked to my GF who had bypass - see has hit a plateua - she is 4 lbs shy of her 100 lbs and she just can't seem to get there... ------------------------------------------------------- Well, It's almost 7:30 need to figure out what I'm going to eat - not really hungry (shocking I think it's the cold) so I am going to talk to you all later... Rose I get it sometimes very very slight and from just drinking Water - but if I chew gum it goes away - I usually will get it in the after noon around 4 and I think it's cuz I have no food in tummy and acid is trying to come up cuz it's still digesting my lunch that by that time has moved into my real tummy.. Pecid Chewables is what my doc told me to keep on hand - I rarely do these but like I said if I stick a piece of gum in my mouth it goes away..

Gypsy Girl Just as Phyl says "poppycock" on those statistics - those statistics are what movitated me to lose 112% of my excess weight - what are those statistic saying about fat pple that we can't do it - we aren't strong enough mentally to overcome our addition from food even with the help of the band... I am a tad competitive and those statistic that said that after 2 yrs banded pple will have only lost 50% of their excess weight - so that would have had me stop at 200 lbs - Bull crappy - I went the full 9 yards and cuz this wasn't a diet - cuz I did make it my lifetime lifestyle change of eating healthy and exercise - I loss all my excess weight and doing things now that I would have NEVER imagined myself doing. Just got back from a cruise and didn't gain a pound and even had a few treats - but ate healthy 98% of the time and did get my exercise in.. So GF - PULL UP THOSE BOOTSTRAP !!! and get back to what you know works - track that food - move that butt - don't diet - just eat healthy - You can do this.!!!!! -
Hey Gang Been busy this morning then went to lunch w/my GF candy.. Karla I was hungry when I got home from the hospital - I was cooking hamburger helper for my GS and I hate that stuff but it smelt so good.. I was lucky I was on full liquids when I got home from the hospital. Creams soups really help alot and you do get full on about 1/2 cup - If you like beans - make a pot of them (either pinot or navy) cook till done then scoop out the beans put them in a blender add a little of the broth - puree the crap out of them then add that mixture back to the broth - CREAM OF BEAN SOUP - It's a life saver cuz home maded stuff taste so much better than the canned stuff.. Phly - $399 That's fantastic - I think I would like to do a Alaska cruise in Aug - but I heard you can't gamble on those cruises - it that true??? I watched idol last night - agree Matt didn't do well - Loved Kris (last guy) Adam does look so much cuter clean cut - or maybe our age is showing :smile2: he sorta looks like Kurt Russell don't you think?? I think the finally will be Danny & Adam - Little rocker chick (16 yr old) and lil rounds didn't do well either. My fav last night were Adam & Kris I want to hear what Earl has to say when you tell hin "Janet said it was ok" - He's going to say - She's not a doctor Candice - Yep I'm back - I really don't like pink that much but loved those capri's and got that pink top at Chico's with I was with Phyl & Linda .... I haven't even been to FB since I have been home - maybe tonite or tomorrow.., Steph - I'll help with Karri give me address and I'll send some $$$ Ok gang - gotta get back to work - ck back tonight after gym Hugs... Sharon - Glad to hear that you are getting on the exercise routine - Ya if I rode a MC I would be in a body cast :smile2: just from bikes when I was a kid I have 2 scars on my head - forehead and then chin - and 2 more one on my wrist and the knee... Becky - Ok I was wondering where you were but figured you were taking care of that lady. As to being of track... #1 if I remember right you do have restriction - I remember being concerned that you were too tight cuz you were mostly eating soft/mushies foods and having problems with hard proteins - so I don't think a fill is called for if you are eating soft foods - IMHO you just got to get back on track in the eating healthy department - When is your kitchen going to be done. What can you do in the meant time - #1 plan plan plan - make sure you have stuff for your meals - I hate saying this cuz I am not a big advocate of frozen meals - but since you don't have anywhere to cook - then you need to have lean cuisienes or ww meals on hand -lite bread - lite lunch meats fruits - yogurts - Is it still too cold there to BBQ?? That's another option - also do you have an electric frying pan?? or a crock pot that you can throw stuff in to cook healthy meals. Are you done taking care of the lady?? There you have a kitchen to cook in so you can prepard good meals. ok 6 lbs - that's still a loss (sorry but don't remember if your fill was early feb or late feb or in the middle) if it was mid to late feb then 6 lbs is not bad for say 6 weeks - that's 1 lbs a week and that's good. So don't be so hard on yourself .. even if it was 1st of feb - that 3 lbs in Feb and 3 in March (you gotta average) that's 3/4 lbs a week and that's not bad either - all in all it's a loss and due to the challenges that you have had lately I think that's very good loss.. Rose - So glad you posted - I have been concerned since w havent heard from you lately..... Yes you to have had alot going on - but now things are back on track and so will you Everyone - remember this is a lifetime thingie - we have to adjust our thinking - we have to concentrate on eating healthy 98% of the time and leaving 2% for treats - this is how we have to live the rest of our lives if we don't want to gain the weight back - So no matter what the sistuation is you just gotta think healthy and stay away for the old habits of having a bit of this or that too often... I think it was PJtax who said that the reason that I didn't over do it while on my cruise was that I was so aware of what happend those 3 days at my Aunts in Feb.. Well that's sorta true - but again everynight I did have a little dessert with my meal - didn't always finish it - sometimes I did and I did have 2 cookies most days - but my other meals where very lite and lots of exercise (stairs) Julie - Hugs on being too tight - That's just awful.. I was tight once but not that kind of pain - just couldn't eat more than 1/4 cup of food and could barely drink.. Sorry that I really don't have too many words to help since I haven't been in your shoes - all I can say - is while you are unfilled - you are going to have to make a determined effort to eat very healthy and get that exercise in - don't start feeling sorry for yourself and start feeding those feelings - it will get better with time.

Thanks for missing me!!! As Phyl said I was gone for a week - Here's a picture of me on a cruise 2/07 where I could barely walk on length of the ship without being totally exhausted to going on one last week - heck my 18 yr grandson couldn't keep up with me.. I have gone from a total slug bug to a zip lining - repelling - dancing 54 yr old grandma !!! -

Phyl - no I didn't noticed:blink: - but you all just had me cracking up on "lets post 20 million post so it will take Janet HOURS to catch up":w00t: Ok - My take on soda - I can't drink a straight soda right out of the can - I take a diet dr pepper or ginger ale and pour it back in forth between two cups to get the carbonation down - then sip. I was never a big soda drinker to begin with - and say I am having an extra hungry day - i may have a soda cuz it feels me up. I may have one soda every 2 months... So have a diet coke - let it go flatish - my doc says the only real reason not to drink it is cuz it depletes your calicum... I got p.m. my a new bander - gave her my little chat - Oh ya thanks for taking over I'm here to help thread while I was gone you did great !!! Well really only have a couple struggles most are doing well... Oh - guess what was in the safety deposit box !!!! Guess !!! I had to take off work at 2 then pay $150 for them to drill the box and they would only take cash no check !!! then then didn't even ask for the original letter of adminstration which they told me to bring... Copies of my Dad's trust - which there were 20 copies of it at his house along with the probate records for my Dad's partner... That was it... I think my sister was a little dissappointed that there wasn't another will - leaving it all to her son - I think that's what she thought would be in there!!! I am going to nephew's house to have a mini bbq with family to celebrate his bday which is Friday but since my sis is here and I will be watching TRACE ATKINS - YES EAT YOUR HEARTS OUR GIRLS 2 TIME IN LESS THAN 12 MONTHS.. - I won't be long - need to be home before 8 - gotta watch Idol... Gotta vote for Matt.. I think Adam is going to win - loved his song and look last week - but no way should Matt have been in the bottom 3 - tattoo girl - blind guy need to go before Matt... Ok it's 5:30 gotta get some gas so will cbl :mad2: Soda isn't slacking - eating cake candy cookies high carbs high sugar and not exercising is....

Good Evening Gang !!! Well got back from cking out my bro's safety deposit box - I think my sis thought that there would be something important in there like a will leaving everything to her son :biggrin: all that was in there was the same junk that was in his house - copies of my Dad's trust - my Dad died 17 yrs ago... The trust was distributated 16 yrs ago !!! Well, I am going over to her steph brothers house for a mini bbq for my nephew's bday celebration - so just thought I would pop in and see what's up I won't be late - want to be home around 7:30 Idol tonite and I have to vote - my guy Matt was in the bottom 3 last week - I love Danny & Adam most likely will win (like him too loved his song last week and loved seeing him cleaned up) but there are ton's of pple who need to go before Matt... Ok Chickies !!!!! TTYL Hugs...

Emma What does your doctors say - that's who you should really be consulting on this - everyone here has an opinion :0) That being said - since it's my thread and I don't think anyone is going to flame me here I will go out on a limb I think you are ok - You are eating soft foods which even with restriction are a lot of time called sliders as they slide right thru the band The only thing that you need to do is Stop eating when you have that sense of fullness - and you will know what I am talking about - if you have taken 2 - 3 bites to fast and haven't chewed then you get that stuck feeling - stop eating let that pass - I just ate 4 oz of chicken - I'm full - but I have my spinach if I get hungry later

Good Morning Gang... Thanks for the props... I feel so fantastic - there aren't enough words to describe how good I feel. Charlene - How's your DIL and new Grandbaby ?? Holly - Ya the Water was cold :thumbup:- we were in the rainforest.. Took donkeys up then had a lot of climbing to do.. I would love to do survior - but don't think I have the people skills to do it and don't think I would like all the bug bites - and truly without the nutrition I don't think I could do all those challenges - Would like to do Amazing Race - but I dont know if I could bungie jump 20 out of 22 is very good that's 4 days a week - be proud - that's 20 more days than you did last year at this time... Ok gang - I gotta get to work will CBL Hugs :biggrin:

Good Morning Gang Oh Donna - I really didn't forget about you - I was thinking as I went to bed last night that I didn't give you props for the workout with the trainer!!! But gotta say - you shouldn't have gotten sick - make sure you eat like a protein bar or something that's a good carb about 45 min before you work out - and make sure you are well hydrated.. Denise - Ya I would think that medicare would pay for some of this stuff - Hugs I know how hard this is.... Don't you have any bro's - SIL - or Sisters who can help just a little bit.. Puerto Viarta was where we zipped lined. Thanks Phyl - The cold is sticking around but am feeling better - Hugs on your dentist issue !!!! Steph - Darling you are just as adventures and me... And the last one - 2/07 Cruise where I could barely walk one lenght of the ships vs 3/09 Cruise where I repelled zipped lined swam with the dolphins - worked out in the gym- took the stairs and not the elevator (most days:lol:) Where I had more energy than the 18 yr olds !!!! Caterpillar vs Butterfly !!!!
