    Judy Judy Judy !!!! Where have you been !!!! I need my arms done - I did see a ps in Beverly Hills - but think I would like one closer and the whole $$ issue right not plus I hate taking time off work to be in pain - rather be on vacation.. Have you ck'd the PS thread - most pple get tt or boobs - I don't want inplants and to lift mine I would end up with maybe a b cup... I was never well endowed when I was thin as a teenager.

    Apples I love driving long distants - I don't mine the drive to see DS and enjoy driving by myself - on the Easter trip the radio (I have sirrus) was playing some great jams from back in the day - I was car dancing and singing away - GS was asleep ..

    How funny that being tired is a food trigger for all of us... Ya I know that walking 3 miles on the treadmill only burns like 300 calories - so that 100 cal for each mile - 2 miles 1 candy bar - I rather not eat the candy bar than have to exercise - but know now that if I eat that candy - I HAVE TO EXERCISE

That would be fun (Napa) Sorry you won't get to see DS as much or long as you would like - at least the flat tire was on the car and not the MH... I thought Jeff was going out of town?? No more 7 miles do you hear me !!! Well back from the gym - did leg work out - food for today so far BF - banana cheerios 3/4 c 100 cal L- 1 pot wonder 1 cup 250 cal Snack - 1/2 c mix of strawberries & blackberries 40 cals 1 wasa cracker 30 with 1 tsp of pb - 130 c So I have about 680 for the rest of the night dinner will be about 310 - so that leaves me 370 for snack :tongue: popcorn 100 - juice 80 - sf pudding 120 = well theres 300 - so I am going to be good for the day.. Dinner will either be my pork tenderloin or chicken marinated in jerk sauce or I do have a piece of fish in there too - that rice and veggies - My DS just called they are comming for Mother's Day :tt1:

You got the right mentality !! 38 lbs in just a little over 3 months WTG:thumbup: It's hard work even with the band - even at your sweet spot I work every day to make good food choices and work at not eating around my band - and realize that when I want candy , cookies chips etc - I'm not really hungry for food but want to feed something else (emotions boredom etc).. Those things don't have nutrition or fuel for your body.. Also props for the exercise - I know for me it's key in losing the weight and maintaining it too.. Keep up the good work...:rolleyes2:

    Yep well love to say it's for the kids !!!! But it's really for us.. Work on your core it's very important at our age !!!! bf 3/4 c banana cheerios 100 c L - 1 cup one pot wonder 250 s- 1/2 strawberries & blackberries -40 1 wasa cracker with 1 tlbsp pb 130 so far today that's 480 - got about 800 to spend tonite :rolleyes2: Ya my GS when he was a baby said mama dadda light blanca but nothing for me (well cuz i was there giving him what he needed or wanted before he knew what he needed or wanted so I guess he figured he didn't need to call me gm) - then one day he say la - then the next day he said lala - so that's my GM name - LaLa means I love you :tongue: Ok gang Im late for the gym ttyl hug

    Candice Ya that's what you have to do is keep your foot on her throat - I don't have any great ideas - as I am not good when away from home - my saving grace is that my band won't let me eat too much real food - so stick with meats chick fish and then a litte of something else - just stay away from the treats (sweets) especially if you are going to have a cocktail or 2... Karri arent men too funny - this is why I wish I were born a Man - wouldn't it be nice to work all day and come home and have dinner ready !!! then just to sit and watch tv afterwards... I have gotten so use to cooking for me (my xdh did most of the cooking and when I got home dinner was done) that it's just a way of life - but I did so very much enjoy the cruise where I didn't have to cook for a week.. Great mileage - heck I am always forgetting to update my exercise ticker.. Sometime you can drink and other times it hits you - glad you had a good time - when will you be home?? Steph - diet - nope it's called lite :wink:without the sugar and fat that really boost the calories - I haven't tried it but alot of pple talk about the greek yogurt - Fala or something like that - I think its not to bad in calories and has TONS of protein. May 6th is during the week so I doubt I can make it - I may be going to see ds for mothers day. 1800 a little high gf - ya it evens out but that was a bit much 800 to 1200 was my varied calories durning my weight loss phase Steph Being tired is a big big food trigger for me too - so just stay away from the junk !!!

    Rose OMG what a great gift - you are one lucky girl !!! Does he have a brother !!! Great on your eating !!! Naynay (that's what my baby GD calls her big sis) Yes it's normal - in the back of our minds we really do think this is the easy way out even though we Know it's not. Ya you can change your eating habits - it may take a bit to get it right and every now and then again you will slip - but the key is to pull up the bootstraps and move forward. #1 why are you getting banded ?? I did it to extend the years I have left on this earth - I want to be here for my grandkids - I wanted the quality of my life to improve. I was on mushies going to prepare something totally unhealthy - but it was a mushie - I looked at the crap in the frying pan and said "Janet - did you just have major frickin surgery to continue to eat like this" Answer was NO - threw the crap away and made something healthy - My Ah Ha Moment... OK GF - Here's your kick in the butt !!! #1 Don't buy the 100 c snack packs - especially ones that you really enjoy !!!! I don't buy them especially the cookies/sweets/candy ones - cuz I will keep going back for more and more and cuz they really are so tiny. If you want to do the 100 cal snack packs do the popcorn - you get alot and if you eat one piece at a time - you will be feeding that hand to mouth habit and your head hunger at the same time with out over doing it... Ya gotta get off the sugar - with easter - my jewelry party I have had to much exposure to sugar - and sugar is not our friend - it's our addiction and once we start we have a hard time giving it up. I still have carb/starches every night and I only count the white stuff as carbs/starches (I don't count the carbs in veggies or fruits - to me carb = sugar rice Pasta tatoes bread etc) I have to have them - so I have a little with dinner everynight which I can control - it's the sugar that I can't control. So depending on what your drug of choice is - just stay away from it if you can't control it.. Throw the crap away - I know you say oh but that's throwing $$$ away - well - which is more important to you the $$ or your health !!!! I throw crap away all the time - I threw away $30 worth of food after my party - but heck better in thee than in me - cuz if I kept it around I would have eaten it and it was your normal fattening crap - cuz I was to lazy to figure out anything else to make - well shrimp cocktail wasn't fattening - but the chips & dip and Cookies.. Charlene - Yes I understand that mentality about eating just a little to much of this or that - I've been there lately - but this week I have been excellent - I feel to damn good to go back and we both KNOW that if we go back there what's going to happened - so just don't start and when you do slip do what you just did admit to it - then focus and get back in the mode of eating healthy You can do this - that's why we are here (all of us) to get the support we need - We understand the slips - the only thing diff now adays is we are not letting those slips turn into saying "f" it - I give up.. Now we think about what we are doing (were I don't think we did before we just ate whatever we wanted when ever we wanted) so we have made so much progress in just realizing what we are doing now adays.. Hugs - Start journaling here to - I know for some that keeps them on task... You can do this - You have done this - Just get your focus back - throw the crap away (or if you can't give it away) How's your knees (can't remember what part bothers you knees or back) go for a 30 minute walk... That's your fine. oh ya i stunk at pathwords in the beginning my score were low - but keep playing (you can play by yourself) keep doing it and you will get the hang of it - I look for the big words but will concentrate on the 3 letter ones too cuz those you can find fast and do alot of them i concentrate on one section at a time ... just keep at it your scores will improve :0) Laura This is why when I am shopping now adays - I read the labels in the store - I look at the calories and decide if its going in my basket or not. How old is your son?? When my ds was growing up he wasn't a bf person and this was when they 1st came out with kids should eat - so we would stop at circle k and he would get a small ok and beef stick - that was his bf when he was 4 - 5 :laugh: I have my GS and he can eat all the crap he wants and is still skinny - He too said oh lala I cried one day cuz we never have sweets in the house anymore.. He doesn't eat them daily but every few months he wants some - so now a days he gets them and after he has had 2-3 piece - it goes in the trash and if he want the rest it goes in his room.. On the fill issue - my doc does blind fills so it's up to what kind of restriction you say you have as you are drinking the Water - and after a few times it's hard to feel it - only when the water doesn't go down at all - that's easy to identify but the in out in out gets confusing.. Fills can be difficult - hope this next one is the one for you. Well gang started this 2 hours a go - the phone rings or my boss comes in and wants me to work :thumbup: so I better get to it CBL:wink:

    Hey Gang What's Up Tonite!!! Idol's on !!!! Just got back from the gym - well really about and hr ago but had to answer some emails.. I did 3 miles with inclines up to 12 in 53 minutes... at about 1.5 miles I wanted to quit - but got the other 1.5 done - Yea me !!! Tonite I a bbqing pork loin & chick tha I havemarinated in caribean Jerky sauce over night.. Todays food banana Cheerios 100 c One Pot Wonder - 300 C WW Yogurt (white choc cheese cake to die for) 70 calores Pork loin - rice - veggies - s/be about 350 (max) Snack popcorn 100 - fruit 100 - pudding 100 That's about 1100 for the day give or take 100c Yes it's low but - I have been 138 - 139 - 140 for the last few weeks - I want to be 138 period - so I need to get my eating back on track along with my exercise (I will skip tuesday often) So M T W Sat are my gym days and I have to get this sugar out of my system.. 1 day - yes we want to know what they find.. Well gang it's 7 - I need to turn on the BBQ will check back in a bit..
  11. Donna - Don't be a hater - I would think that pple would find the advice of a successfull bander informational. And I wasn't a "B" to anyone.. Melmeow I don't know how you think I'm frustrated - I didn't beat anyone up - I gave my experience with the band and asked a simple question and prefaced it with "not meaning to be a smart arse" In my experience of researching I knew about bandster hell - knew that it takes time to get restriction - knew that most of the work was up to me - I am just surprised that so many pple here don't know this stuff Have at it pple - just know that it takes a while to get restriction and even with restriction you will still get hungry the weight isn't going to fall off over night - and this is hard work - pull up the bootstraps and move on - it's doable.. As to crappy doctors - can't help there - and changing usually isn't an opionon as most doc's won't take another docs patient - you can find them but it can be hard

    Candice - I am an EXPERT on children with drug problems !!! My DS started meth when he was 15 :eek: A few yrs here and there sober - but I think what happend last May has finally sobered him up for life God Willing - as you say all you can do is offer the support and help but if they don't want it there is NOTHING we can do to stop it - it breaks our hearts seeing them ruining their lives - killing themselves - but it's it God's hands not ours... So glad you aren't eating thru these problems.. Phyl - No tickets on vacation !!! but your time here in the desert isn't vacation - just traveling too and from :smile: You get a get of jail free card for traveling time :w00t: Step a gf used it (soy milk) in her mashed tatoes - ahag yuck - so I have never bought it - I use sf creamer - I only have 1 to 1.5 cups a day - and my coffee still looks like coffee and not milk (I don't use a lot) I am glad that DH wants to get healthy !!! KARRI NO PARKING WARS TICKETS HECK YOU JUST STARTED AND I THINK YOU ARE CLOSE TO ME IN $$$ TICKETS ON LBT IS MORE EXERCISE !!!! Parking wars is just play $$ so I really don't care about it - I am an exercise person - but can't say I just super love it - I do what I have to and that's it - so for me going more is going to be a deterine in me eating ... Candice not bad on the calories !!!! Karla - see that red word !!!!! CONGRATS ON YOUR POUND AND ON YOUR GOOD EATING DAY... You WILL eat well today ! and love your foods !!! Yep Kari - I have become a little careless lately myself - I have been at 139 - 140 more than I have been at 138 the last couple of weeks - I like the 138 # and I want to see that # when I get on the scales - I don't like seeing 140 !!! Karri - I went to the gym - then shopping for food - home put it all up then cooked 2 dinners, cut up fruit, fed the dogs & cat - marinated meat for tonite - made a one pot wonder for lunches and didn't sit down til 8:30 last night !!!! Steph Ticket are for eating bad stuff and going way over calories cuz you ate 2 pieces of cake - - not for 1/2 clup raisins !!!!

    Hey there Missy Welcome !!! I think we were all scared and excited at the same time Ok this is the advice I was given in the very beginning and it has helped me so very much .... #1 - THE BAND IS ONLY A TOOL It's not the magic cure to our issues with food - it's not the quick fix or easy way out It's not going to lose the weight for you - it doesn't make your food choices - it doesn't exercise for you - the only thing it does is provide restriction (and that can take a while) by limiting how much you can eat in one sitting - it has absolutly no effect on candy - milk shakes - liquor - Cookies - cake (all the high sugar/fat foods) we call them slider foods (slide right thru the band) you can still eat these things with no problem - no restriction. Also the band does nothing for head hunger issues and imho thats where alot of our problems lie. I am 21 months out - I will be physically full but still want to eat - our head hunger manifest it's self in to what we think is physical hunger - I battle still and most like always will with head hunger - #2 This isn't a diet - it's about making a lifetime lifestyle change in your eating habits - eating healhty - low fat - limited sugar and refined carbs - The problem with diet's they don't work cuz when you go off them - and go back to eating normal - you gain all your weight back and then some... Ah I wonder if our eating normal is the problem here - oh that's a thought - Ya that's the ticket - for us our eating normal IS what got us fat in the first place Yes for some just the restriction alone will allow them to lose some weight but not the amopunt that is needed to get healthy - we really do have to understand that we ate very unhealthy I eat healthy 98% of the time - I do allow for treats 2% of the time - I exercised 4-5 times a week in my weight loss phase (I started 250 5'4 and was 52 yrs old) I started slowly - walking on the treadmill and every few weeks it got eaisier and easier - but you gotta stick with it - this too is a life time committment - not just while losing the weight but to maintain that weight loss too.. #3 - Keep a food diary - there are tons out there - dailyplate.com - sparklepeople.com - caloriecounter.com losing and maintaining your weight is all about calories in vs calories burned - simple math.. I kept a food diary for 1 yr Also if you can afford it buy a scale to weigh and measure foods so that you can learn what 4 oz looks like - what a serving size really is.. You won't have to do this forever but it's a great learning tool.. #4 Practice not drinking with meals or for 30 minutes after - practice taking tiny bites - chewing very very welll and eating slowly - also I eat off salad/dessert plates and 1 cup size bowls.     Welcome Annie !!! As you most likely know by reading my post - IMHO 75% of the work is up to you and you are so right about the candy - I had some Sunday night cuz I couldn't sleep (sugar is like a sleeping pill for me) I was so disgusted with myself yesterday- I worked extra hard at the gym - went tot he store and reloaded my pantry with good stuff to eat (healthy) Not that the candy was sitting in my kitchen I had to go hunt in GS room :w00t: Suggestion - take one day - say Saturday where you allow yourself a treat - go buy ONE AND ONLY ONE candy bar - then sit down in a quite room and savor it - don't inhale it just savor it. In fact I love reese pb cups - I will eat one cup then save the other for later. I also do sf pudding (dark choc) for my choc fix and fruit with lite whip cream (no more short cakes for me) last night I bought strawberries & blackberries - cut up the strawberries added the blackberries and a little splenda - and packed them in 1/2 c container and will have one for bf with my yogurt... Long Congrats on the lost lbs - WTG - Happy Anniversary - and yea for cruise !!!! I know how busy you will be from now and until a week or so after you get back - Heck I am still trying to play catch up When you are up there speaking just think that all of us are in attendance and that you will be talking to us - Congrats on this too it's that you are such a great example of how to work your band Meredith - All I really needed for approval from my insurance 2 yrs ago with sleep test - shrink visit - and got approval Keep us posted... Charlene - I know that you said you cancelled a trip but I didn't know it was to Hawaii!!! Claudine - I here you girl on that one more bite - I am almost 2 yrs out and still will do it every now and then.. 1day - some days I don't:tongue: Yesterday was busy at work then came home - went to the gym and the to do some grocery shopping cuz I didn't get to in over the weekend - heck by the time i got home put the food up - cooked 2 dinners and lunch for the week chopped the berries and fed the doges is was 8:30 when I sat down - I never made it to the computer :smile: The band is a life long tool - and IMHO you can't eat 1/2 c for the rest of your life - I want to eat normal protions (1/2 c rice - 1/2 cup veggies and 4 oz of meat) that's normal... Barchedm - Welcome 1Day - do you have your gall bladder - I know you say it's your left side - but mine hurt in the middle of my back.. Keep us posted DENISE CONGRATULATIONS ON ONEERLAND !!!!! Linda - HAPPY BIRTHDAY !! Love the cakes -but they are danger zone for me - I am swearing off sweets (real sugar) for a while.. Julie - Glad you are posting and on the mend Apples - busy day - but I know you - you have dinner in the crockpot - all this stuff done before you walked out the door.. You need to come and visit me for a week and get me on a timetable - so I can get stuff done :0)

    GOOD MORNING GANG... 1ST I HATE HATE HATE MY FRICKING JOB !!! We had computer update over the weekend and then just given paper instruction to figure it out !!!! Candice - WTG !!!! Glad your Mom is doing well... You didn't eat cookies and you exercised... Keep it up !!! Karri - What did you do to strain it - how bad is it hurting - I strained a tummy muscle 2 weeks ago - but it was ok within 3 days - I know you are training - can you go see a chriopratro (sp) Also - You need to give me a ticket !!!!! :eek::sad::mad: Yesterday afternoon I had some ice tea - well at 11 p.m. I am still wide awake - (remeber I get up at 5) so I went into Andrew room to see what Easter Candy he had left... 1 pack of vanilla oreo cookies and 6 little choc candies (size of a quarter). I know why I ate it - cuz real sugar will put me to sleep -and it did I was asleep a little after midnite..:wink2: But I need a ticket - I have gym at 5 with trainer tonite - will get there at 4:30 and walk for 1/2 - that will be 2 miles.. Just have to fess up here !!!!

    Rose - Yes you just have to eat slowly and chew - it helps alot.. Charlene - Yes working your core does make walking easier since I have been working the weights - I can do 14 inclines where as before - I could do no incline - give your fill a bit and maybe it will kick in - the one I got in oct or nov took 2 weeks to kick in.. Prayer daily for our men & women who put their lives on the line for us I don't eat oatmeal often - I like it but it doesn't stick with me for very long and I am not a big sweet person in the morning - I eat about 1 to 1.5 cups for dinner - lunch is usually 1 cup - I could never live on 1/2 cup per meal... That's not eating.. Hope so ... Denise - Fish - 350 degrees 20 minutes - that how I cook my catfish - salmon whatever fish I eat .. Painting's good exercise... Joann - Congrats on the Baby & weight loss Party was great - had a good time I guess I am lucky - I can eat salad - I hate making them but love eating them - also I have to becareful not to drowned them in dressing Mergatroy - Welcome - you can jump in we are glad to have you - and as my GF - God's kick up side the head - well it's something like that - but heck I'm 54 and my brain is gone alreay - God slap is what she says.. Yep he was directing you to us ... Slept til 8:41 which you all know is late for me - then read the paper - went hand nails & toes does - went to Marshalls and then a gf came over - barely got on the computer - I turned it on this morning - but had to get my butt in gear and get stuff done - still never made it to market - but will do that tomorrow after gym Hey Linda sounds like you are doing - great... There is a new low sugar cake mix out - made with splenda.. Cake is a danger food for me - so I haven't got it - Sweets and my down fall so I just don't do them often.. Well gang - sorry I wasn't super chatty today or tonite for that matter - but it's 9:17 and I just wanted to pop in and say hi.. Will talk to you all tomorrow... Hugs

    Steph - Don't know why you weren't quoted - but anyway Thanks too for your kind words... I think (know really) that my DD Karri and I were quite competetive with each other - we have so many simlarities - same height weight etc - it was because of her that I lowered my goal from 170 to 160 and then strove for 145.. I totally agree - we have to find out what works for each of us. Karri & I have always said - it's a little easier for us since we don't have familys to cook for - Ya I have my GS but he's easy and I don't like hamburger helper - heck prior to the band I normally did cook 2 meals - cuz GS is boring with food.. Karla - When you have a few go back and read page 203 forward cuz I don't really don't remember if I cried the blues - you will read alot of post from pple who no longer post - of the original #7 it's me phyl candice and car pops in every now and the - oh ya marcy poped in the other day.. As to getting easier - I don't think it's that hard - but again I am 21 months out - it's my new way of life - I still have to be very careful when it comes to sweets - cuz those are the calories (and fats) that add up really quickly.. But I just don't buy them - I stay on top of this (food) I eat - I enjoy treats - but I don't keep dangerous foods in the house Last night I had my jewelry partry - had chips dips salami cheese crarkers shrimp & cocktail sauce and cookies - I had one pina colada a few shrimp and a few chips & dip. But then after everyone left - there was tons of food left - I threw the crap away - better in thee (trash) than in me - but made the mistake of not throwing the cookies away - I had about 10 (they were tiny and calorie wise I was ok cuz I hadn't eaten all day) - but this morning - I got up and took all of them and threw them in the trash... 2 leads to 2 more then 2 more - well you know how that goes - so for me if it's not here I can't eat it - I only have food in my house that I can control.. Karri - I think if we get too comfortable at where we are at - that's what leads us back to eating the wrong things - thinking it's ok - I guess for me that's what has kept me on the straight and narrow for so long... I have lost the weight before (well not this much) and kept if off for a couple of year and then it came back plus some.. But that's cuz I would start eating again (sleeve of ritz crackers - saying I would have 4 - then before you knew it they were gone) I love the cheese in the can that you squrit with salami & trisicut - I miss it some time - see I ate very high fat.. I am so afariad of falling of the wagon - that it keeps me making the right food choices for the most part 98% of the time... Good Man !!!! Good calories and water - I need a ticket for yesterday - my water wasn't good - today it's 48 so far so I will get the rest in before bed Jazz church sound like a fun time ... Whats here name - she's beautiful... One day at a time :0) I have coffee every day - strong coffee sf hazelnut creamer and splenda - don't they make the sf international coffees. as to drinking with meals - I think that's the hardest - I don't think I drank with meal - but would after - that takes a while My instructions were 30 minutes - there are times that I am dying of thrist after a meal and I will take a tiny sip or 2 - but gotta say for the most part - it's become a habit - and it saves $$ when you are out eating - I never order ice tea with my meals or soda You aren't high maintanance - you are newly banded - we all a have been at this for almost 2 yrs now - Well it's almost 9 - I gotta get ready for tomorrow - Talk to you all then

WTG - I liked that you named your split personallity (Evil Dianna like the MJ songs) At first I thought who is she talking about - but then I got it - Love it :smile2: Yep just keep talking crap to her tell her how much stronger you are than her - I am a bit competative so that works for me :0) My child is BACK YEA !!!! YEA !!! This is the Karri from a year ago !!!! You go girl - you got your game hat back on - Yea :laugh: Well I am back from the gym 3 miles 4. speed 2 incline, 15 incline 2.7 speed - jogged for one song and burned 350 calories - in less than 1 hrs - 50 minutes. Do you know that I use to burn that many calories walking 3.0 for only 2 miles on 0 incline - tells that inorder to keep buring the calories you gotta up your intenstiy - infact if I walk 0 incline at 4 speed I burn like 1 calorie for every 2 steps - but if I put the incline up and decrease the speed - I burn like 3 calories for every step.. Well I should be in the shower getting dressed - I got stuff to do - but think I will play a game of pathword then get in the shower :0) TTYL

    Good Morning Denise I will send you a friend request.. Parking wars and farming and pathwords are my games and a little mafia too.. Yep you did good on your Calories... I enjoyed the Wii but I don't know if I would do it at home - I just don't have time - and I'm not making excuses :0) cuz I already have my exercise schedule - see it's Sat morning and I was up at 5 so that I can get stuff done before I hit the gym this morning :0) ... It just cuz between lbt & fb and my tv show during the week I don't have the time to do the wii - well I guess I could if I wasn't on the computer so much - but it's a good transfer addiction and I get to make tons of new friends - and I love that - I think about you all so much during the day - You wouldn't beleive it. Julie - how was it to sleep in your own bed or did you sleep in your recliner - how are you feeling today.. Well, Gang like I said I'm up a little extra early this morning to get stuff done - gym at 7 - then home shower, nails - shopping for tonites party and finish cleaning the house.. I will cbl - have a wonderful Saturday !!!

    Well it's ok as long as you didn't quilt :sad: remember no quilting unless you exercise !!!! Karla nope on the net calories - exercise is your savings account - it's what is going to make the scales move on your weigh in day... I never did that net calorie thingie -and I think it allows you to eat more - when you think like that - oh I had a 1000 calories today and burned 300 so that 700 for the day - oh I get to eat 300 more calories to eat - well at the end of the week the scale is going to reflect all those extra 300 calories during the week... This came up a long time ago with a lady who was really struggling - she did the net calorie thing and each week she was dissappointed with the scales. So think of your exercise as a little extra insurance to keep the scales moving - I only had 1 week during my weight loss phase that I didn't lose any weight - and I don't think that would have been true had done the net calorie thingi - heck if I hadadded 300 calories every day 300 x 5 = 1500 that's 1/2 a lbs (well really 1250 is but close enough) and some weeks that's all I lost - Glad to hear your Dad is doing better... Well gang I am getting off the computer Will talk to ya'll in the morning Sweet dreams..

    I have had my band for 21 month - 7/17/09 will be 2 yrs There are plenty of calculators where you input your weight height and activity level and it will tell you how many calories to eat to maintain that weight or lose or gain I originally had one that said 1900 to maintain - but my trainer said no - that was too many - I think my doc said to add 100 calories week and see how you do.. It's trial and error really - and I am guesstimating - I am pretty good at it but it's not exact.. I got to goal 160 (was my original goal) in 10 months 5/8/08 that was 90 lbs lost - but I wanted 100 lbs lost and really wanted a normal bmi - I got to the 100 lbs in June 08 and on 7/24/08 I had a normal bmi (105 lbs lost weight 145 lbs) !!!! So 2 year 1 week After that I just kept eating healthy and exercising and I lost the other 7 lbs - I really didn't keep track of it - it sorta just happened all on it;s own - I think 138-140 is my body's happy weight - a weight were I can eat normally enjoy a few treats and maintain - I think the very lowest I have gotten is 137 but have only been there once or 2 during the last few months and it's only for 1 day Struggles - biggest one in the beginning and even today was knowing when I was physically full - I would sit after eating 1/2 cup and contemplate my stomach and how I felt - I gotta say that was and still is my biggest struggle head hunger - which can and does manifest it's self into you thinking you are physically hungry even though you are full - it's why food is our drug - we give it some and it wants more more more.... I do ok during the day - I get hungry yep - but for some reason during the day I can deal with it - it's at night where I have my problems - heck pre banding come home have 2 tacos - hr later 1 more with Beans - then 1/2 hr late fried cheese taco - and understand these tacos where full or grease avocado cheese - omg... Once I start eating at night it's very hard if not impossible to quit.. This is why I save my daytime Snacks for night time eating (my calorie budget) Other than that - I gotta say it hasn't been that hard for me.. I think due to my age - having major surgery - I had my Ah Ha Moment - my fat was limiting my life - I was tried all the time - I ate & slept my weekends away - vacuuming the house would cause me to break out in a sweat.. I couldn't do anything without being exhausted.. Now I have more energy than my 18 yr gs.. Do I miss pigging out hell yes I miss it at times - but I feel to damn good to go back there - I still have treats - it's not like I am on a diet - I just changed my eating to lower fat - lower sugar and exercising - I enjoy my healthy meals - I was never a fast food eater or big junk food eater - I just ate like I said very high fat - sugar - too big of portions and no exercise - I ate regular foods that I cooked just way too much of it.. At Christmas time it's tradition that I bake xmas Cookies w/my 2 Gd's - so how I dealt with this was I said no to ALL the treats in the office during the holidays - My reward was that I could have a few of the cookies that I made with my GD's - it's was my trade off... That's how I do it - If you want that 1 piece of cake tonite - then tomorrow you you gotta eat a little light and add a little more exercise in.. I had major issues with my family in 08and baby bro died - but gotta say during all these tragidites I didn't turn to food - it's still my drug of choice but I have found that it doesn't have the same hold on me any longer that it use to - I quit making all the excuses at to why i couldn't do this or that - and I was great at it - "who in the hell said that 1/2 c of ice creams is a serving size" where in the hell did they come up with that - heck a serviing size is one pint ..

    My food for the day BF - Kashi oatmeal 150 c L - 1/2 c chick pot pie with just 1 bite of crust 200 C?? S - 2 oz of cold steak 170 C D - 4 oz Fish - Spinach - Rice 320 c S - 100 c popcorn - 1 sherbert cone - 16 oz crangrape jucie 460 snack 1300 cal for the day - that gives me 200 cal still to spend -(1500 -1900 is my calorie budget) - which will most likely be some oj for 100 - and more crangrape juice.. or a sf Jello pudding cup choc banana... So No ticket's for me for the day :0).... Eating on the lower end today - since I will be having a party and allowing for a few extra calories tomorrow -
