    Phyl - You have the greatest sense of humor !!! You have me lmao !!! 7.4 in 3 weeks - That's like the most you have lost in that short of time isn't it - your ticker is private so I can't check - but regardless - that is phenominal !!! Especially since you weren't home - for me being out and about and tempted by more food is harder for me to make the smart choices. You use to be able to find those bras years ago - so much eaiser - but I don't see them anymore - maybe for a 32 A but that's about it - It must be about the support issues.. Ya $75 buck for a bra is a bit much (mystic)- it would have to take away my back fat roll (well really saggy skin) and feel like I wasn't wearing one for me to fork out that kind of $$ Your hummus sounds really good - I think I have a can of ck peas in the cupboard - I may just have to make some dip but don't need the chips after my Saturday treats.. To day I had fruit for BF - salad for lunch w/chicken and a cup of my new fav thing (french press coffee) at 3 and 1/2 banana at 4:30- Well thought the coffee would get me thru the workout tonite - Idrise said you didn't eat well today did you (I rarely fade during my leg exercises) and I said no - I just had salad for lunch cuz of the treats I had on Saturday.. He said ya I can tell - But I did the hard part (leg presses 200 lbs and then lunges) and I did recover after a bit..

    Who really cares about this whole subject - IMHO there are more important matters than spelling - being grammatically correct and punctuation - this is lbt not a college class on writing skills.. As long as you get your point across in a post - that's all that matters.. If pple don't like how you write they don't have to read it..

    Hey Gang !!!! Drive by post - took me 1/2 hr just to catch up... Phyl :thumbup: WTG CONGRATS 118 LBS GONE !!!!!:wub: Heck those capri's are going to be long pants on you - I think since they are wide legs they could be pushed up easy enough... Phyl those Oprah bras are like $75 - I would wait a while to invest in those - I have some from JC Pennys that I love - like 30 bucks a piece and sometime buy one get one 1/2 off.. Are you coming home after the hospital - or going to a rehab place for a week?? How long in the hospital?? Karla - Alot of pple go to the salvation army type stores for their in between clothes... Good girl on getting your walking in - and yes taking today off if you are in pain is good idea - but tomorrow - do at least a 2 mile walk - Hugs on the $$ - wish I could tell you where to find some :0). Do you have a 401 k - you can borrow from that... Linda - to fricking funny trying to fix coffee pot - hell for $20 bucks go get a new one - I found a big french press at Marshall's yesterday for $9.99 - heck at bed bath and beyond they want $50 !!! I got it for a gift for my gf candy.. Thanks for the completment - as you know I was morbitly obese - but I do have to say I really do feel comfortable in my body right now - this is who I was under all that weight - this was the body I had in my minds eye... I truly do beleive in happy weight (a maintainable weight) I got to where I am by just following my healthy lifestyle - which does allow for life happening (treats) not just everyday... As you all know that my original goal was 170 - then 160 and was afraid to even write 150 so left it at 160.. I even went out to eat Sat for lunch 3/4 of 1/2 of a quesdilla hamburger from Applebees and 2 onion then a while later we went to my fav yogurt place and had 8 oz of frozen yogurt for 160 calories then had chineese for dinner and a bowl of ice cream.. But yesterday - back to healthy and today too - 1 day a week isn't going to make us gain 100 lbs back - we just have to be mindful of what we put in our mouths... You look fab just the way you are - and if you ever get your TT there would be 10 lbs (guessing) of weight gone. Candice - I agree with everything Linda said - are you happy where you are - or do you want to lose some more - that's the real question.. Stupid little girl !!! Denise - the cassolle was great... Well like I said - drive by post - I gotta get back to work... Hugs... J

    Good Morning Gang... Eva - Exercise = Physical Activity - I was part of a lapband conference last year in Vegas hosted by Allergan - they stated we should replace the word diet with eating healthy and the word exercise with physical activity. The only reason I don't is that exercise is one word and physical activity is 2 words - and if you haven't' noticed I shorted almost every word I can. As obese ppl we don't like to exercise or really do much as far as physical activity goes (hell just vacuuming the house caused me to break out in a sweat at 250) Any type of physical activity is too hard on us when we are carrying around 100+ lbs Exercise has the same bad connotation that diet does... Heck doc Oz states that you just need to walk what is it 30 min a day.. (maybe more I don't remember) I personally go to the gym cuz it's 2 blocks from my house - and it what I need to get me to do it - I could buy a treadmill and do it at home - but would I - well the weights no cuz I don't have room for a weight and it's a proven fact that we need to do weight bearing exercise as it helps our bones & core strength which we need in our later years so that we don't fall ;0) - but again it doesn't have to be weight's per say but soup cans anything can be improvised on Heck some of us can't do physical stuff as we have bad knees - backs etc - this is where water aerobics is great - you are moving and that's what counts - they even have exercise tapes/dvds for pple to do sitting in a chair with bands and hand weights. I have never been one to increase my food intake due to my exercise - I bank my exercise calories - an this is what that article is talking about - pple who burn 500 cal then go eat 500 cal - well ya the exercise just got canceled out by the food that they ate. But exercise/Physical Activity is key in losing weight and becoming healthy. This whole band thing and why we do it - is to get healthy and it's a lifestyle change - were as obese chick's we sat on the couch and ate way too much food and all the wrong kinds of food (more food - less physical activity = obesity) Losing weight is math - less calories in that what we burn - so if you want to lose the weight you gotta eat less calories that what you burn up in a day... So it doesn't matter if you go to the gym or an exercise class - all that truly matters is that you move and as the weight comes it - it gets easier and easier too move. 2 yrs ago I could not have been in my yard in 110 degree weather in full sun working all day - I would have died. Today I can do it.. I have a gardener and pool guy - ya I could do those things myself now a days - but I don't find it that enjoyable and I don't want to spend every weekend doing yard work - I rather shop or spend time with my friends - now if I didn't work I might do those things - but as it stands now - I have only 2 days off and most of the time that's not enough time to get all the things done that I want to get done. So - you are right - you don't have to do a formal exercise program - all you have to do is some type of physical activity. What is important is that you move Doodles - if I worked in the heat all day I doubt I would go to the gym either - Sounds like you have a physical job - mine is sitting at a desk all day in the a/c - so I have the energy to do it (well maybe not the energy after a stressfully day at work) but I do find that I feel so much better after I have done it - endorphins are great things... I want some salsa !!!! I have never canned or jarred - I remember my Mom doing it once- don't remember what though. Laura - Glad you are home - Hugs GF I feel your pain - I have been there... You are lucky to have your DH to lean on. Great - Glad you didn't get eating - We (phyl & I) talked about your bear visit when where were in Canada. Charlene - Cake is ok especially at your GD 1st bday :0)- it's not off limits - we just can't do it daily that's all - and heck I am going on 3 yrs and I still can eat too fast..     Linda - Bear did that cough thing - I even took him to the vet one sunday but they were closed - it ended up clearing up - it took about 5 days - It was the same thing like trying to cough up something - it started about a week after his boosters - I read that the shots could do that - but a week later.. I don't think yesterday it got to 100 -today suppose to be only 100 - that's unusual for August here in the desert - but I'm not complaining :0) I would throw the pot out and get a new one - I made coffee only once last week in my reg pot - I need to get a bigger press cuz I just got the little one - well that's not one full cup of coffee.. I am addicted now to it.. It does taste better - smoother.. Karla - where's the exercise today??? Our bands are fickle - one mintue you think you need a fill then the next you don't - it's all about food choices.. Candice you feel better and look better than you did 60 lbs ago - These are my thought on why you are happy at 176 - but maybe that's your happy weight - Who know's - I gotta say for me - I just keep eating healthy and exercising and that got me to where I am today - and I have been able to maintain for a year now, by just following my new lifestyle. I never imagine I would be where I am - but gotta say I am loving it.. Phyl - Will you be able to wear p.j. bottoms with your knee surgery (meaning long ones)- I think you are going to need gowns as they are going to have to take care of the incision. Heck with my band -I stayed in their gown the whole time - I didn't care if I had a bra on our not.. ------------------------------------------------ Well it's almost 12 - need to jump in the shower suppose to be at Candy's house around 12:30 - 1 - So talk to you all later...

    Good Morning Gang Eva - I did the same thing when I got home from work yesterday - (fell asleep) but then was up til like 12:30 - and now up at 5. Our weather here has cooled off too - some high or low above us that's cooling us off - like 100 yesterday - which is cold for August :0) I love going to the gym on Sat mornings ... I have energy and it does help jump start your day.. Well, gang just cking in - Apples gone - Linda gone - Julie gone - hopefully Laura is on her way home - Great is camping if I remember correctly (that's a big if now a days (remembering lol).. What's everyone else doing - Me gym then meeting gf for lunch and movies.. Well just cking in - CBL

    Good Morning Gang.... Candice - you and me up early for a Saturday - Babies had me up before 5 and I didn't go to sleep till 12:30 a.m... I'm on my 2nd cup of french press coffee :0)... I'm going to gym at 7 - then meeting a gf (candy) for lunch movie or shopping - who knows.. Phyl - Yep I think we have Candice & Peter covered for driving across the USA MI (Kari) -WI (Linda)- WA (You)- OR (Karri)- CA (Me)- LA (Denise) MO (Steph & Karla) They have tons of pit stops to make... Karla - I don't think you are going to regret your decision not to get a fill.. I am glad you like your doc - that's very important and motivating.. I agree a nutritionst would be a good thing for you. It's really not about how tight you are but your food choice and exercise - Deep cleaning is good exercise - but it isn't cardio :0) - Your bike riding is.. Heck we have decided (karri & I) when she was here that trying on clothes is exercise - she wished that she had worn her body bugg to see how many calories she burned - I had her sweating with all the clothes that I had her trying on lol... You have done great 65 lbs !!! Linda - How's the fire pit going??? Kari - Food & Soda ?? Steph - Are you selling kettle corn this weekend.. QVC Fall Fashion Day today !!! Havent seen anything I want yet - but who know's the day has just begun... Karri - You need to do a drive by on our new thread... Denise - What are you up to this weekend..     Well you gotta hit the outlets - I loved them when I went to Vegas in January.. OMW - the hours you work - Crazy... I have been here 30 yrs get 25 pto days - and I try and steach them out as long as i can.. Becareful with that arm !!! I too very fortunate that I don't have any physical limitations when it comes to exercise - some mental ones some days :0) !!! Have a great time w/your family !!! Irene - Congrats girl - WTG :scared2: on the weight loss and getting remotivated :tt1: I learned WW on the exchange program - I have done points but got my points according to my weight - Like I said - I bank my exercise calories - the only thing that I do is save my calories/point to comensation for my night time Snacks . I am really proud of you for getting back on track .. Another WW saying that I love and quote often "Better in thee (thrash) than in Me" Laura - Hell of away to lose weight - but at least it's gone - Glad to hear Dad should be released soon... Have a safe trip home - I bet all three of you (you dh & Nelson) will be happy to all be back together agian ... Hugs GF We love you... Julie OMW how can you make all those sweets - my food would be terrible too - and you don't feel good and it's always hard I think for most of us to eat well when we don't feel good or are tried.     Portion Control?

    I didn't "diet" I changed how I ate - I eat healthy (lower fat - limited carbs/sugars - I still have some) and I exercise For the first few months I weighted and measured my food - as I needed to learn what a real portion size was - I did count caloires and kept a food journel for the 1st year. I used all these things as learning tools.

    Good Morning Gang... TGIF Steph have a great time at the lake !!! Enjoy yourself !!! As to walking - ya - I can do it - but my exercise limit it about 1.5 hrs max - that's it I usually exercise for no more than 1 hr usually about 50-55 minutes ... I enjoy it for that time but after that nope too much - With our bands I don't know how it would be to eat in a short period of time and drinking fast - I can't if I take a big gulp of water I get pain.. I know it's a great cause - but I have no inclination to walk 18 miles a day - 3 miles per hour is a good clip - I walk anywhere from 3 to 3.5 in hour now - and I am beat after 1 hr- so mulitply that by 5 hours - nope doesn't sound like something I would ever do.. And the whole fact that you have to raise so much $$$ - I don't like asking pple for money period. And most of my friends don't have tons of it.. I know you are passion about this walk - and I am happy that you are doing something that you are so passion about and wish you and your gang the best - can't wait to hear how it all goes.. Karla - Can't wait to hear how your visit goes with your new doc.. Well I got here early 7 a.m - and now it's 7:49 - so I need to get my butt in gear... CBL :wink2:

    GOOD MORNING GANG - TGIF... I read yesterday was going to post last night but a gf came over and didn't leave til after 8 and I still had to feed babies and myself. Charlene Congrats on the 3 lbs :wink2: Why would the nutritionist cost $$$ - Mine is included in my office visits - if she's part of Dr's staff I wouldn't think it would cost extra... As you already know - I am a firm believer in keeping a food diary - it's a great training tool - I did it for the 1st year - I don't do it now - I know I try and keep a mental note of what I have eaten for the day - but cant tell you that it's easy to forget a bite of this or a little snack - and all those little calories add up.. I will find myself trying to remember what I ate - and I always seem to forget something - and I will still jot down my food every now and then.. Cheri - you plan is excellent - you are in bandster hell (pre fill after healed) Low fat - limited carbs/starches - and sugar - I have found for me that's what works... Have a great time at your reunion... Ocotillo - Congrats on your loss you are doing great !!!:nanahump: Julie - Hope you are doing better today... Irene - I am so glad that the WW is working for you - I am a big WW person - cuz I think it's the most healthiest eating plan out there and I have done them all !!! You still get a little bit of everything - it teaches you portion control - about fat - sugars - starches -.. WTG Girl :Banane56: Meredith - Yep that one more bite - I still do it 2 yrs out going into my 3rd year - it's all about the taste / addiction.. I have never had bad pb like some report - bping for hours - mine usually come up and that's it.. Exercise - Well I don't let myself really get out of the groove - I have trainer 2 days a week that I pay for - after a year ya I could quit as I know what to do. But I don't reason is that it MAKES me go to the gym those 2 days cuz I have paid for it - It's well worth the $$$ - Saturday mornings I usually enjoy cuz I have the energy then - it's the after work gym time that I try and talk myself out of - and the main reason I usually don't talk myself out of it is just for the reason you state - if you don't go for a week - it's so easy to slip back into slug bug/couch potato mode... It's just like eating and allowing too many treats - it's real easy to slip back into our old habits and I am very very mindful of this. We all have lost it before - we all have gained it back plus some - Lesson learned - we can't stop doing what we know works - eating healthy and exercise - I'm 54 I can no longer kid myself that eating unhealthy and being a slug bug is going to keep me at a size 4 - nope that behavior will make me a 18/20 again... Not going back there - so you just have to make yourself do it - don't think about it - just do it even when you are pooped cuz after it's done it wasn't as hard as you thought it would be and you will feel better - #1 the endorphins and #2 that you did it - that's a good feeling - the Power starts with you !!!! 1day - I was on 2 bp meds - I am down to one.. Wish I could not take that one - but alas I can't - so mines not all weight related but exercise is key in keeping me healthy.. Linda - How are you doing... I always banked my exercise calories - I know pple who say well I burned 300 cal - ate 1500 so that's really 1200 for the day - IMHO I think it's best to eat 1200 - burn 300 - This is what worked for me and a few pple who did it the other way didn't lose like they thought they would Phyl - WTG on the weight loss - That's great especially since you have been on vacation for the last few weeks !!! Ok gang gotta get my butt in gear - TTYL HUGS:wub:

Ok - Well you have another week before it gets to hecktic How's your Mom doing OMG you had my lmao on the whole sex things - then I loved the clarification about studiying the material - but not that section... Hugs on the pbing - I just had steak (ny strip) I just made sure I cut it into tiny tiny piece - had maybe 4 or a good 5 oz and have room for my veggies.. CONGRATS on the weight loss - You know your body - nothing for a while - the bam a big loss.. You have do so well in the last 2 yrs Phyl - I was just bragging about you to my gf Candy who came over tonite - was showing her the pics from Canada (btw who has the pic's with all of us with Elvis - I haven't seen those posted) any way I was explaining who everyone was and how much they have lost - I told her how well you have done especially with you bum knees... I like Karla's suggestions - no doors nothing but a mattress. Glad to hear that the problem will solve it's self - like my Dad always said - things have a way of working out for the best.. This will be one less problem on your shoulders.. Good luck on your walk - I don't think I could walk 18 miles a day that's 2.25 miles per hour for 8 hours.. Great cause but I couldn't do it - and then sleeping in a tent.. Good Luck on that one... Karla - Hugs on the $$$ - Wish I had some ideas - the only one I can think of is for the girls to ask their father for some help.. Can you get more hours at the nursery.. Are there any part time jobs in your area.. How about tutoring.. You could do that to make extra $$$ - heck here in Cali - it's like $45 an hour... Kari - GF - you need to eat healthy and drink plenty of water and exercise and you will go #2 more often - Candice - What happen with this MH?? Linda - Where are you...     LOL I think he was on his way to the pool :0) - I haven't been on my Wii in a while - maybe tonite since it's my off night from the gym... Well hopefully my fibroids have shrunk now that I have truly hit menopause.. I remember talking to Tracey about the fibroids... Mine never caused me pain - but lately I have been bloated feeling and I worry in the back of my mind about them every now and then - I think I need to find a gyn - not just my gp doc.. Depending on the results of this last pap - will determine if I look for one - We changed insurance in April - Aenta ppo - and I really just want a gyn doc not one who's an ob - cuz I hate when I go for an appointment and they are gone delivering a baby... The wasted time of driving there and then back - it's hard to work dr appointments in when you work.. Steph - I totally understand - like I said I gave in alot as it was just easier than fighting - but in all reality when I did stick to my guns and not let him push my buttons - it did work - just try it - it's hard but give it a shot and see what happens - Teenagers are very trying - look you are in your 30's - I did this in my 20's/30's and again in my 40's/50's - You don't have to make him understand that you aren't crazy you are the Mom - you explain it once and that's it - please give it a try- Like I said I wasn't always successful in my attempts to not fall into the arguing trap - the getting so pissed that I wanted to hit - scream and yell - the times I did follow thru - it does work - so just try and see what happens.. Glad you can eat - Make those good food choice now :0) Congrats on the 11 lbs !!! Karla - My doc wouldn't fill if I was losing weight - that was what he used to determine fills. Again that can't always be the determining factor cuz you can be tight and eat around it. IMHO are you comfortable with the amount of food that you eat - is it satisfying you mentally (notwithstanding the head hunger issues) and physically Ok looks like you have lost 64 lbs - got 36 lbs to go - now when did you get banded (my short term memory is shot) You are doing great - 36 lbs to go - by Dec or Jan you should be at goal - and I do know that will be goal in under a year.. cuz wheren't you banded in like March/april ?? IMHO I think that sometimes too much emphasis is put on the whole fill issue - yes we need restriction but this is a lifetime change in our eating (we choose the foods not our bands) - can you live your life only eating 1/2 c of food per meal. Well, boss just walked in he's early today - so better get to work - cbl

Charlene Ya being too tight is the pits - you should be able to sip water comfortably.. Gotta say though I find that exercise does make my band tighter - Keep us posted..

    How cute - I figured it was something like that - too funny that's she's worried that pple are talking about her.. Almost like me and Earl in the elevator at the mofa when you were trying to sneak off to the mall - you came back at him with What are you and Janet doing - lol that was just so funny.. Congrats on the weight loss - we all get on and off the scales a few time.. Can't beleive you have all that energy - I was pooped when I got home.. So glad that Tracy's mamo came back good/no problems..

    Good Evening Gang... Back from the gym - did my hr of arms - feeling better after my exercise... Can't believe how those endorphins moving around really do make you feel better.. Not much to report.. Steph - Glad you got your unfill and will be able to eat.. How's it going.. I read a parenting book and it says our problem is that we argue and try and reason with our kids and that's what we need to stop... I know it's hard - kid's can push those button and we go ballistic.. Once you said no - quit trying to explain why over and over - when he keeps pushing those button you just stay quite... Almost like super nanny does with putting the 2 yr old back in the time out chair - you explain once why then after that you just keep putting them back and not talking about why - you just do it.. I have been able to do it with Andrew a few time (I am far from the perfect parent) but once they know you aren't going to give in - they will quit bugging you... Candice - What did Peter say :0)... Linda - Isnt Wed Cora day... Denise - how many kids have you suspended so far - Karla - Whats up how are you feeling - are you going to that new doc tomorrow. Phyl - So what's Earl's new girlfriend like ... Kari - are you doing better with food today - how's the biking.. Who am I missing - Well off to feed the dogs CBL

    Good Morning !!! Meredith - Your salad sounds fine - I agree the dressing isn't bad as long as it's not drenched - I have been eating alot of salad's lately... Mine are simple lettuce red onion grated carrot avocado & yogurt dressing (bolthouse ranch 80 cal for 2 tblspn) I may throw some sliced deli chicken on it for the Protein - but today I didn't cuz I brought a piece of fish to eat.. Your day sounds like my Satuday - but I didn't have the poop to deal with - It does make you feel good to do all that moving even when it makes you exhausted.. Yes you are doing wonderful - keep up the good work... Linda - You may want to get that arm check out - my trainer did that the other day - getting in a boat - something popped and his arm swelled up - He was suppose to go to the doc - but I don't think he has - He may not have insurance - I will have to ask him about it tonite.. Congrats on almost being overweight - Yes we totally get it - it's a great thing!!! I met a lady yesterday - who is another Dr Bobbie patient - she is one of our insureds (not my client) and my gf pointed to me and told her I was a bander too.. The lady is at the only overweight stage too and we both agreed only x morbitilty obese pple would understand how happy being just over weight is.. Isn't it funny that pple say banders can't do salad - I too have never had a problem with it - I have had more problems eating butternut squash which is a puree than I have ever had with salad... I think that when our bodies crave certian foods - it's telling us we need the vitimans - last night at the store - I wanted veggies - so I bought califlower - squash - salad - carrots. Oh girl friend I hear you about the age thing - our #'s may be up their but in our heads we are still teeny boppers and can do anything - Ya right then we try - and BAM our age hits us in the face.. How long will you be in Vegas??? Oh I bet your Sis will be so happy for you.. EE - Thanks - we had a great time - go go go - and was beat by the time I got home - but can't wait for next years gathering... I have never lived in snow - well as a child we had a house in the mountain that was a weekend home - we got snowed in a couple of time - we loved it no school - but I wouldn't know how to drive in it and I sure and the heck don't want to be shoveling it - I think dressing for it would be like dressing for the heat - I could deal with that but not the ice and shoveling :0) - So I guess I will just have to stay put - well that's until I win the lottery and can by a house right on the beach lol.. I don't know if it's the full moon or what - but I have been hungry lately - I just don't keep food around to eat - or I would be munching all day at work - oh that reminded me I forgot my yogurt for bf... Well, I think I have some oatmeal somewhere.. Did your Dad lose your Mom and that's why he gave up.. How sad... Hugs - that had to be so hard to deal with.. Laura - Hugs gf w/your Dad...
