Sounds like everyone had a good weekend - well except Julies DD – but thankfully no injuries – Good luck on your fill this morning Love the $900 a week / div 6 that’s 150 + air – I don’t care where we go – I do love the ocean though !!! Shopping – well gf Debbie isn’t the shopper I am – I think Great is about the only other person who’s like me – Shoppers – Well Apples does her share too some time :0) Got home 5 p.m. – gf didn’t get anything – I got a Ralph Lauren top $75 for $22 and then another top and leggings..     Good Morning Gang... Candice - OMG you had me LMAO bottle brush :biggrin::ohmy: I remember having them bad in high school - got get some monistat and eat yogurt... I will have to ck in on that privacy screen thingie - so only if you are close up you can read the screen but not far away.. I guess I have been very lucky with my band - sweet spot in 2 fills - I don't think I would have done the sleeve 1st just do to the fact that they cut up your stomach - I would go there if I lost my band and started to regain the weight.. Last night my band got in the way of me eating - and this rarely happens Had ck for dinner - it was on the dry side - got full - never had veggies or rice - well usually my full doesn't last too long but last night it lasted all night - I was physically full but not satisfied and as I said I can usually eat within an hour or so - but not last night - I thought to myself - ah this is your band working for you.. As I said many times - my head hunger manifest it's self in to physical carvings.. Linda - I still have the scooter pies/moon pies - but who know's how long that will last - like I said above I couldn't eat them last night even though I wanted too. Karla - YOU EX DH IS A F ING AH !!! He has that kind of $$ and won't help his daughter.... Karma - Karma - Karma is all I can say... Phyl - What are you doing today - surgery tomorrow !!! Ok back to work... I hate Mondays - it's hard to get in gear - my knee is hurting - I wore these sandles yesterday that weren't meant as all day walking shoes - now my right knee is acting up - it hurts behind the knew more than the knee it's self...     Good Morning All Had a busy day yesterday - hair at 8:30 then grocery shopping - target shopping - take Andrew for a hair cut.. Going shopping with Debbie today - she's my date for Andrew's Mom's wedding next month and she needs a dress.. Linda - to me its unbeliveable to have to wear a sweatshirt in August lol.... Kittens doing well, but Sheba is going to eat me out of house and home.. I am feeding her wet food about 4 times a day plus her dry food- I know that she needs it to feed her kittens. The kittens will be given away.. Did you know there is an airline just for animal - I could send you one :0) Karla - Whats so bad about being married twice - I married the same guy twice (didn't work either time) and I had a few live in BF's - so you aren't a tramp or a failure - It just didn't work... And it's great that DH#1 accepts DD from 2nd marriage!!! Yep some days we just want to eat - band or no band... I found moonpies - smaller ones - I hadn't had them in year - bought a box - 130 cal for one - had 2 yesterday They will be going in the trash by tomorrow :0) Love your add for the car lol too funny... Ask Linda if Mel wants it - he restores car lol... Phyl - OMG Chickie - you are one busy lady !!!! Kari - Let us know about your consultation...     Good Morning All Drive by post as I need to get dressed - going shopping w/gf today... Had hair cut yesterday at 8:30 then grocery shopping - target shopping - take gs to get hair cut etc - so had a busy day Gang MOST pple think it's INDIGO (Like the indigo girls) so don't feel bad - I get it all the time - it is Indio and yes it's the name of the town that I live in - "Indio" means Indian That's all I know - Not a big historian about my town - Know it started cuz of the Railroad - We were the Date Capital of World at one time (know this cuz my Dad was a Date Grower).. We are 20 miles east of Palm Springs - We use to have to say palm springs cuz no one know of Indio - but now a day I can say Palm Desert - or Rancho Mirage - but alot more know about indio cuz they drive thru it going somewhere... Well gang I gotta make this short Hugs & Love to all of you - Janet :0)

    No fill for me

    Why don't you think you can be at your sweet spot with only 1 fill. There are pple out there who can go 6 months from surgery with no fill As you lose the fat around your stomach your band can loosen and you may need another fill. I know that you most likely have read of pple who have to have 8-9 fills before they feel restriction - but that's not true for everyone - just like the # of cc's in each of our bands is useless info as I can have 2 cc's and be good and you can have 5 ccs and still need more.. I got to my sweet spot in 2 fills - I went back for a 3rd in 12/07 and doc said no you lost 17 lbs in 2 months - you are fine - well cuz all we do is read about fills - I called and got appointment in January - he gave in and gave me one - I had to go back and get 99% of it taken out as I was too tight and that was 1/08 and I haven't had a fill since and don't need one.. Don't worry about the # of fills that you have - be happy that you have restriction - that you are making good food choices and are losing the weight - that's what's important.. Keep up the good work !!!
  6. Hugs for your struggles ... We all are food addicts - it's our drug of choice and just like a drug addict can relapse so can we - We just need to pull up those bootstraps and try again - it may take a few time of falling of the wagon for you to realize this . They banded our tummies not our heads and that's where the majority of our problems lie.. I can be physically full and still want to eat and I mean that even though my stomach if full my body is craving it's drug (food) and it wants more... Our band's don't make our food choices - we do.. As you said even with restriction you ate around your band.. Did you think in the back of your mind that the band was going to do the work and you really wouldn't have to. Our bands are only tools -they aren't about dieting - they are they to help us feel full on a smaller amount of food - you can't look at this as a diet it's about changing our eating habits and getting physical activity.. You have to realize that our normal eating is what got us fat in the 1st place. Your sweet spot should be where you can eat at least 1 cup of food per meal - following the band rules - Protein 1st - veggies then if any room starches - tiny bites, chew very well and eat slowly. If you are following the rules and pbing you are too tight - you need to be able to eat or you are going to eat around it.. I know that some pple like being so tight that they can barely eat - they think that not eating is the answer - well its not IMHO. You have to be able to eat real food meat veggie starches - You have to find the balance between getting enough food physically and mentally.. As I said - you make your food choices not the band - it's not the magic cure to our issues with food - it takes work and will power - I say I have done 75% of the work by choosing to eat healthy and exercising - and my band did the other 25% by providing restriction.. Please go and talk to your doctor - explain whats going on - does he have a nutritionist you can talk with and like restless said - I would consider seeing a counselor to help with emotional eating.. Ya if I were having a pool party for kids - it would have been around noon... You have been out of your element for a while - don't get frustrated - I can imagine how hard this has been on you food wise and the stress.. Just keep doing the work and it will come off.. I would LOVE TO EAT APPLES COOKING !!! Oh girl we wouldn't do that to you - well maybe one meal... Julie - CONGRATS ON YOUR 1 YR ANNIVERSARY AND 101 GONE... You have done EXCELLENT especially with all the medical problems you have had lately - Hopefully the fill will help.. Gitrdone- Birthday's don't count !!! It's ok to have a piece of cake - it's not that one piece of cake & ice cream that got us fat - it was cuz we ate 2 - 3 - 4 piece or the whole darn thing.. I have treats but they are planned - You can't live life without them - again this isn't a diet but a whole lifestyle change - Even during my weight loss phase I had cake if it was someones bday - or my own - I go out to concerts and have a couple drinks - I live my life - it just doesn't evolve around food like it use too... As long as the calorie counting/exercise equaztion works for you - Good - I know if I thought of it that way - I would eat more.. Well gang - I'm just cking in - I am glad it's Friday - Tomorrow 8:30 hair appointment - Then Sunday going shopping w/GF as she needs a dress for a wedding Those are my only plans - I need to clean but who wants to do that :0)..

Too funny Peter doesn't like the double bed - my x told me when he say mine that he guessed I wasn't sleeping with anyone cuz it's just a queen - we had a california king !! Karla - I usually leave work right at 4 - I'm there at 7:15 ish so by the time 4 comes around I am tired. I say I would love 4/10's but don't know if I could work those hours... I'm having the stuffed bell peppers I made last night and didn't eat - today at work they had pizza - I didn't have any Today I have had 42 grms of pt so far - 430 calories - Pt cookie - Pt Taco Cheese snack - Pt bar - I just haven't been hungry for food - just junk :0) but at least I am getting my pt...

    patch Props to you too for getting to goal too... I loved how you said this - It's so very true !!!! Some days are harder than others for sure. But once you taste success, sometimes the dedication will kick in without much thought, because you know what it has contributed to your success.

    Welcome Blondie - Glad you came - when you sign on to lbt go to user cp - and all the threads that you have posted to should show up if there has been any activity since your last post - or you can choose to get an email notification every time someone post - I don't do that cuz it clogged up my email too much.. It takes awhile to figure it out - I know it did for me cuz this was the 1st website I ever posted on - you will get it - just keep coming back LBT is a great place for info and support... Git.. Welcome too - Glad to have you... Whats C25K ?? Glad you are exercising - to me it's key in getting the weight off - I didn't do the net calorie thing - I think it's detrimental cuz when you think oh I had 450 calories today your brain says only 450 cal - oh you can have a few extra Snacks or high calorie meals - I kept my calories between 800-1200 and varied them during my weight loss phase and I banked my exercise calories - For me it worked - I only had 1 week in the 1st yr that I didn't lose.. So be carefull of the net calories - It may work for you - but as you go along and lose your restriction and hunger returns it's very easy to fall in the trap of I can have more cuz my net was so low for the day.. This isn't just about physical hunger - but your head hunger issues too - most of our problems lie in our heads - so you have to make this work for both your tummy & your head...     Good Morning Gang - Started a post earlier but boss came in hit exit instead of something else - so lost post :0) This is what I dislike about my new cube the most my back is to the doorway and you can see my screen when you walk in - were before you couldn't so I had plenty of time to switch screens ) - I guess they expect me to work at work not be on lbt :0) Karla - Daddy should be helping - think posititively !!!! Girl you have only 33 lbs more to go to goal - you are doing fantastic. Glad to hear Steph is doing better... I talked to Karri (well we posted on FB) she promises to stop by soon (9/8) she isn't working like a crazy person but still working and making time for her and DH - So all is good.. Kari - Glad you have a great vacation and congrats on the blank check - all that more incentive to quit the sodas and lose those 15 lbs you gained !!! I am jealouse !!! Well better get back to it - before someone walks in and I lose my post CBL - TGIF !!!

    Good Morning Gang Just a quick ck in - gotta get my butt in gear - Glad it's Friday.. Welcome Melinda !!! But you made me think about some other things. I havent really been told not to eat anything, as a matter of fact before I get my fills they ask to make sure that EVERYTHING will go down. You should be able to eat all types of food - IMHO it's important - but its the junk and fatty/sugary/starches foods that we need to have very limited amounts of as they are unhealthy - It's not like I don't ever have biscuts and gravy, or a piece of cake etc - I allow treats but eat healthy 98% of the time. I gotta say though for the 1st year I was pretty strict - at Xmas time I had Xmas Cookies that I made w/my GDaughter - But didn't eat any of the sweets that were at work and threw in an extra day or 2 of exercise. It's all about trade offs.. You really don't want to be so tight that you can't eat - We have to find that happy balance between being physically & mentally full.. You sound like you have a very full plate with working and school. Just find 3 ten minute breaks during the day where you move - this helps - and you have the weekends :0) Meredith - Glad to hear about your semester being done - Hugs & prayers for GF - You are such a good freind.. Great on the weights !!! Charlene - Glad you are fine - I was getting worried about you... Well like I said just a drive by - I gotta get to work CBL:wub:

    Thanks Jeepman!!! That's why when I got to goal in 5/08 - I posted on the Beginners thread - I want pple to know that it's doable.. Best to you on your jounery - it may be long but let me tell you it's so worth it.. I did this for me - cuz I want to be around to see my Grandkids grow up!!

    Liz - My Dad use to live in Hackensack :0) He's from NY & NJ.. I read your profile - I can tell you this is the best thing I have ever done for me... I was 52 when banded and as you know we have less years in front of us than what are behind us... I have 3 grandkids that I want to see grow up - GS is 18 -and 2 GD 14 - 5 and for me having major sugery was my ah ha moment My weight (250) was limiting the quality of my life - 2/07 went on a cruise could barely walk from one end of the ship to the other without being exhausted.. Well 3/09 went on another cruise - this time I took the stairs - hit they gym and went Zip-lining & Repelling and even had a few treats & drinks - I had more energy than my 18 yrs GS.. I feel 10 yrs younger, have tons more energy and the quality of my life has improved ten fold.. It's great to go into a regular store - and pick a pair of size 4 pants and know they are going to fit (was 18/20) Just know that it's not the magic cure all to our issues with food - it takes work - it take will power - but once you have proper restriction it does help - but it doesn't mean it's easy. It's all about eating healthy and exercising and with the band you are full on a smaller amount of food... But know that that new full is diff than our thanksgiving full - and that you will be physically full and still want to eat - but you can't.. They are banding our tummies - when really they need to band our heads cuz that's were our problems really are.. Good Luck to you on your Journey... Mine was great - don't know why I wasted so many year tell myself I was ok fat - I wasted alot of time being fat.. But now I am healthy and enjoying life

    Well in looking closer tonite there is another one that was the size of Lucky - its really hard to tell cuz they are squirming so much When they (kittens) woke me up at 3;15 I looked under the bed - she was with 3 of them - and I notice this thing away from her (could have been the 1st born) so I woke Andrew up to help me - he got on the other side of the bed and got the kitten (with a rag) and immediately gave it to me - and I broke the bag and started cleaning it off with a damp washcloth - it was barely breathing - I thought it was about dead - then Sheba pops out another kitten - I was about to tell Andrew that the kitten was dead and wasn't going to make it But I remember one time before when my old cat had kittens I thought one was dead - threw it in the trash and the next day when I go out side I hear a kitten crying in the trash can - it wasn't dead after all... So I just kept blowing air in it's face and rubbhing it's chest... Glad you had a great time w/the GrandKids - Brooke's 1st day of school was Monday -(kindergarten) she was suppose to start last Monday but got a BAD BAD stomach bug - coming out both ends - had to go to ER twice... No I don't think they have spies - I think you could go for a ride when you felt like it - but will Earl let you out of the house :0) I love oysters on the half shell (raw) but I have to have cocktail sauce - not plain .... Sounds like you have had a great time these last few days...

    Hi Drasan It's up to yo on how much weight you lose not the bands. I lost 100% of my excess weight in 1 yr. I did the work by changing my eating habits and exercisings I hated those statistics - But again food is our drug of choice and what are the statistics on drug addicts not relapsing I eat healthy now and go to the gym - not high fat - sugar and no physically activity like I did 2 yrs ago.. The reason that bypass pple lose weight faster is that their bodies don't absorb the calories from their foods due to the rerouting of their intestines... Bander absorb every calorie that the put in their mouth... The reason that bypass pple quit losing after a time is that their intestine adapt to the surgery and start absorbing calories again.. So if a bypass person doesn't change their eating habits they are going to start regaining the weight back.. Just like a bander can eat around their band even when they are at their sweet spot (perfect restriction) I'm at my sweet spot and have been since 1/08 - I could choose to eat candy bars all day long - they are a slider food (slide right thru the band) I could drink milk shakes all day too - but if I chose not to do those things. I wouldn't have lost the weight if I had and If I went back to eating high fat high sugar and not exercising I could gain my weight back too.. Any weight loss surgery is just a tool - none of it is the magic cure all to our issues with food. To lose the weight and keep it off you have to change your eating habits - you have to exercise - It's not about dieting cuz they don't work cuz when you go back to eating normal you gain the weight back - Our normal eating is what got us fat in the first place. So don't pay attention to those statistic - I know a lot of pple here on LBT who have lost 100% of their excess with the band and they have done it in 1 yr - again how much you lose is up to you - not the surgery...     No Jason there are now rules - I don't know why pple apoligize for long post - there's no rule about that and some time it takes alot of words to express yourself - so don't worry about that - hell I will post books sometimes if I am on a roll... Congrats on your weight loss - and I see you have decided against being banded.. For most of us here we have all lost the weight before - the problem is that we all end up going back to eating normal as we have been on diets... Well diets don't work and eating normal for us is what got us fat in the first place... The band is only a tool - it in itself doesn't make you lose weight - it just gives your restriction to control your portion sizes - but you are the one who makes the food choices.. I always say that I have done 75% of the work by changing my eating habits - I eat healthy I am not dieting - I would say I eat a modified atkins - I have carbs/starches - but in limited quantities and I eat basically sf - and hit the gym 4 days a week and the band did the other 25%.. The band is in place so that hopefully you will have it forever and won't have to worry so much about gaining the weight back - Would I be able to keep my weight off if I lost my band - I think so - cuz I think I have had my ah ha moment - but who knows - restriction is a good thing sometimes - but I could eat around it 24/7 if I wanted by eating sweets and ice cream.. My Doc sells them too - but he's 20 miles away - so I buy mine from Bariatric Choice bariatricchoice.com I got some great cookies that have 15 grms pt for 160 calories and they are hugh (the size of a mayo jar lid and thick & soft) I got the peanut butter - I like them - I ordered the chocolate after reading the reviews they are made by proti and I got some protein bars - double peanut butter - 150 calories 15 grms of pt and to die for... I keep them at work and use them for breakfast or pre-workout snack - cuz it seems I have more control during the day than at nite - If I had them at home I would most likely eat more than 1 - but this morning could only eat 1/2 of the cookie - but had a little stress and that makes my band tight.. I like the watermelon multi vit - and the cinninmom calcium and sublingal b12 .. I didn't care for the lemon much either - infact I still have some in a drawer somewhere...

I guess it's just you and me :0) - Candice is out rving - Steph is dealing with family issues - Phyl - what's your excuse :0), - Linda is back at work or getting ready to go - Denise well she only post once a week or so - Kari in Florida - Karri is doing school too. Dinner is going to be stuffed bell peppers with lean sweet italitan sauage meat & rice - corn & 2% cheese and tomato bisque soup... Went to lunch with Andrew - he is all alone in the office cuz his mom is on vacation and since he can't drive - can't eat. Yesterday he was starving by the time I picked him up - we drove the micky D before we came home.. So today he had 4 tacos and I ordered a taco salad - but I was tight this morning - tried to eat one of those protein peanut butter cookies for bf (160 calories 15 grm pt) but could only eat 1/2.. The taco salad - didn't even eat all the meat - but was able to finish the other half of the cookies this afternoon - so my calories for the day 160 + 150 = 310 - We had to go to Walgreens after work - I picked up a candy bar - 230 calories - put it down then saw some cocunt m&m's - 210 calories - put those down - So a big pat on my back :confused: Sheba and kittens doing fine -she ran out as soon as we got home - wanted food - we went and ck'd on the babies they all are fine - but now can't tell which one is the one I saved. They all look alike - just like Sheba... Well - just cking in - will cbl
  22. What are your doctor's instructions??? Each are diff and just cuz mine had me on mushies at that stage (I had to do 10 days each stage full liquids - mushies - soft - regular) so by 21 days out I was moving to mushies.. Refried Beans (fat free with a little 2% cheese) And at the end of my full liquids I was eating about 1 cup of soups. Are you getting 60 grms of Protein in daily??? Or I should say what are your doc's instruction on protein - but I would say that most want you to get 60 grms a day - and on the 1st 3 phase I had to incoporate clear Protein drinks (like crystal lite but with protein - ck out Bariatric Choice - they have the clear protein drinks - 70 calories and 15 grms pt...

    No I didn't - I had 10 days each phase (full liquids mushie soft then regular) Didn't get my 1st fill till 8 weeks out - I ate/eat alot of fish never had a problem as long as I followed the rules - tiny bite - chew and eat slowly - I can eat chicken, shrimp, steak (this normally has to be a good piece of meat - stringy meats don't work well for me)...

    Thanks - I originally posted this on 5/8/08 the day I got to my original goal of 160 - by 7/14/08 I had lost 105 lbs and and by 10/08 I lost another 7 lbs - 7/17/09 was my 2 yr anniversary - and I am still 138 The band does work if you do the work that goes with it... Good Luck to you All

    Welcome JoJo - Thanks For the 1st eight months I just walked on the treadmill - like 1 mile in 25 minutes on no incline - then every few weeks I increased my speed and time.. I now do 3.5 to 4 miles in an hour on inclines from 2 to 15 - it's all about varying intensity.. Also I got a trainer (working with weights) 8 months out after I had lost 2/3rds of my weight - I think I was 173 in March 08 and had my lapband conference in June and lost 25 lbs in those 2.5 months - I now do 2 days cardio and 2 days weights - the more muscles you have the more calories you burn - it also helps our bones and core strenght that we need at our age. Look forward to having you join the gang & I - We are a pretty fun group if I do say so myself...
