    Jessica - the post op diet isn't that hard - not super easy but you are healing from surgery - I was 10 day each phase too - full liquids (cream soups - yogurt - sf pudding - sf fudgesicle) Make homemade soups they are so much better than the canned stuff - then mushies for 10 day (you will be ready for them) lf refried beans - then soft (fish) then regular.. Laura - My DS & GS don't eat veggies or fruit - you can't make pple like something they don't like - once I made DS eat a bite of spinach when he was like 5 - he threw it up.. DGS ate veggies as baby food but not after.. Nelson will survie Prayers that this new doc has something postitive to say about Dad... Ok I gotta head for the shower - I will respond to other post later p0)

    Good Morning Gang How sweet of you Karla to shovel for your friend - You got your exercise for the day :0).. I bet your kids will enjoy the gifts - it's not about the cost or #'s but about the thought.. That's what I don't like about Christmas now a days - the whole it's about the then amount spent and not the thought I have a pc and the other day someone wrote something funny and the coffee came out - but thankfully the pc is under the desk.. Just remembered I have lunch w/gf today - so there when my spinach salad... Am making steel cut oats this a.m. to take to work for breakfast - see how I like them - they look weirid not not oatmeal :0) Just a quick ck in - will cbl

    I wonder why Xmas shopping has become such a pain - I use to love it to.. Well I guess it's just the change in times.. I have some coal that you can give Dear Old Uncle Ed - I found it last yr - was going to give it to my boss - but never did - think it's still in the drawer (it's really chocolate).. Oh I understand Phyl - I wish Denise - Linda - Karri (she's having surgery 12/15 so say a pray - boob reduction & reverse tt) -Steph and Ruby.. Sorry about your dinner - doesn't sound to appetizing - you get stuck on dry tilapia .. I bbq a hamburger patty for lunch - turned it back on to bbq my pork tenderloin - then went out to but it on - out of freaking gas - Thats what I need a new bbq to hook up to my gas line - then I wouldn't run out of gas. So it's in the oven and I looked up how long to cook it - I like it on the pink side.. I made cabbage for lunch but never ate it - so will have that with my pork and some rice.. Karla - how did the shoveling go -- How's your back - oh ya a gf has prolapse issues - she's getting a diaphram - would that help you...

    Ok Deb - Thanks I will try that.. I went to bbq my pork tenderloin - and the stupid bbq is out of gas - we haven't bbq that much - I really need to get a new bbq to hook up to my gas line.. Ok I found out who is in the ORIGINAL Christmas Carol Reginald Owens - made in 1938 - it's on my pay per view $1.99 for 24 hours - I may be watching that - I just watched last weeks Brothers & Sisters - Oh it had my crying - Love... I guess I am a funny person - I don't like comdies that much - Chevy Chase can get on my nerves sometimes - I am more a drama person - but I do like a good comdey at times but not stupid humor - can't stand Jim Carey :0)

    Oh my word you all got busy this afternoon 82 cards Julie - I was bushed after 27 cards.... Sorry about DD struggles - I know how it goes - been there done that.. Laura - Love the pic of Nels & GBH - Great Job !!! Keep us posted on your Dad.. And Yes dear Nelson will eat when he's hungry - Pushing him to eat when he's not hungry isn't good - that's how we get fat - yes it's those things we learned in childhood that leads up to our obesity - like cleaning our plates cuz of straving kids in china.. I am glad the light bulb went off :0).. Apples - ok I am going to try the steel oats - will cook them tonite cuz I don't have 30 min in the morning to do it.. (Phyl - I got them at Winco - QuakerOats - just a normal style box) I have splenda and sf maple syrup.. We all appreciate your sharing :0) - We love your cooking It's so funny when I sat down on the couch to veg after doing my cards - had a 20 min nap and thought - this is why apples can eat 2500-3000 calories - she's on the go from dawn to midnite and I mean on the go - I would be exhausted just my your morning routine :0).. I wish I could be like that - I can every now and then but then I get pooped out - I need veg time.. Cheri - you sure do have a juggling act with the family issues Meredith - Enjoy NYC what a wonderful time of year to go... Well back to my t.v. - cbl in a bit...

    Candice I am totally w/you on the whole what to buy pple for xmas Everyone has what they want or need. They all are getting gifts to open - but their main presents will be $$ too.. Well I got all my Xmas cards addressed and ready for the mail tomorrow ;0) Got a load in the dryer and last one in the machine - never go the floors mopped - but there's always tomorrow.. Had a 20 minute cat nap - hamburger patty & popcorn for lunch.. Steph as abandoned us... Both Karla & I have posted on her board to come see us - She responded to Karla - she's in a bad place - Linda just gets to busy.. I don't really understand the above - cuz to me we are family and I am not going to quit posting..

    Jewel - I have the Wii Fit - Fit Plus - and Active - I do it occasionally - but since i go to gym and have a personal trainer don't do as much - I like the Active one the best but it's cuz it's more of a work out - I like the step on the Wii Fit - I am not the most coordinated person so some of the balance games on the wii fit are hard - but good to develope core muscles and legs.. Eva - No I didn't grow up on it - I don't know if it was my sisters' Dad or my sister or my GF who made this soup - but I love it.. The only problem is I make too much soup - how do you make soup for 1 ;0) GS doesn't eat it.. Plus I only bought one package of meat (usually buy 2) trying to make just enough for one - but didn't work out that way - now I have just veggies left.. I agree Apples should make a cook book :0) Deb Glad you are getting an unfill - being too tight is the pits - I was too tight for one week and that's was one week to much - I rather use my self control than be too tight.. I could barely drink my coffee in the morning.. And it's not werid to be too tight on 2 fills - not everyone needs 5 or 6 fills I truly got to my sweet spot in 2 cuz almost all but .1 of the 3rd was taken out and I haven't had a fill since 1/08.. Well I have showered done one load - ready for the last - now gotta hit the kitchen - marinate my meat and clean the mess from last night.. Apples - I got some steel cut oats yesterday -do you make yours with Water or milk?? I have raisin I have to have raisins & cinnamon in my oatmeal and maybe some walnuts...

    Good Morning Gang Back from the gym - I had to go this morning since I didn't do it yesterday and never really got around to moving much - just washed clothes and cooked - So went and did 3.5 mile varying inclines - burned 503 calories... Today I have to do my cards - finish washing - and need to mop floors and vacuum - dinner will be pork tenderloin marinated in terakie & jerk seasoning and bbq'd with butternut squash (Linda we are twins we cook our squash the same way - I like you on Xmas Eve is when I pop in it's a wonderful life and have it on while we open presents xmas morning too) lunch for the week will be spinach salads with either tuna or/or pork tenderloin.. Well gang sounds like every one is doing well - I gotta get my butt in gear - this is why I avoid the computer some weekends I don't get anything done :0)... Hugs to you all Cbl

    Good morning Gang Back from the gym -3.5 miles - 503 calories burned - had to go today cuz I didn't do it yesterday and all I really did yesterday was cook - wash clothes and sit at the computer.. Karla - cute house love the wood floors.. I don't know what angel would do in the snow - she's prissy - hates getting her feet wet.. Well I do need to finish my washing - mop the floors and angel still needs a bath.. So in a few I need to get moving :0)

    Phyl - I micro wave mine (little water cover w/that saran wrap stuff I have that you saw) for 20-30 minutes - then scoop it out in a bowl- mix it with I can't beleive it's butter spray - salt and pepper. I like it just like that - I know pple who add honey or sf syrup to it - but I like it savory not sweet Oh so you thought my date bacon was weird :thumbup: - since my Dad was in the date business my mom made them she may have added a water cresnut to it don't remember and pple loved - its the sweet/savory/salty flavor that pple seem to like Jewel - Yes I still like to feed pple - I do it for my DS when he comes to visit - I buy him his fav candy..

    Apples have a great time tonite - I know you will - can't wait to see your pic's - but I know how that goes - when I down loaded the pics from the desert pictures I posted - I lost some some how - don't ask me what I did.. Great - I think the whole "I'm here to help" thread will be lined up at Apples doorstep :0)... I only had the one xmas party and heck have the pple don't even dress - jeans, tennis shoes and a sting of pearls - I guess they thought that dressed up the outfit - I wore a dress and boots - nothing Christmasie - but I don't have anything nice that is christmassie.. May have to go look at Khol's tomorrow I got the Reindeer one from the men's section and 1 from the ladies that say nice - I almost got the one that looked like a Santa suit - but put that one back.. Well - I think I am headed for the couch and my soup and some vegging... Jewel - Note - I had bought corn bread mix to make with my soup tonite - but thought - do you really need it - you know if you make it you are going to eat too much of it - so I decided not to make it - These are the things you will also learn to do on your journey to being healthy :0)

    Yep darling some days are like that :0) this morning I did brush the teeth and washed the face - but I too have just chewed some gum and said that was good enough :0) Well just got done coloring hair,I think I like the color I mixed 2 colors together - but I had already used half of one mixture and I thought it was a red - but I think it was more golden something - too bad my hair wont be this color again - I should learn not to experiment so much :0).. showered and nice and clean threw the cabbage in the soup - decided not to make the corn bread - I feel like I have put on 10 lbs - I haven't I have eaten good - but said - Hell I don't need the corn bread cuz I will over eat it w/too much butter - See Karla being here does help even 2.5 yrs later - It help keep me honest.. What are your plans for the nite?? I think I am going to sit on the couch - and hope something good is on - have 2 magazines to read - I haven't vegged all day - grocery shopping - cooking - washing - picking up (never really cleaned) and on the computer in between - that the most sitting down I have done...

    Have you undecided pple - ck'd the sleeve - it's another option and you don't have the absorption issues that you can have from bypass.. It's another opinion For me I am happy with my band - I'm lucky I would say as I got to sweet spot fast and haven't had any issue (thank God and knock wood too ;0)- any wls is a crap shoot on what will be the best choice for you and none of it is the magic cure to our issues with food.. They all require work.. Good Luck to you all. Nancy - so glad you are doing so well with your bypass - I'm happy for you !!! I truly think that for some pple bypass is the answer - I'm not one of those banders who think the band is the only answer - it really is about what works and is the best for the individual person..

    Sweetie - I have not learned to resist certain foods and especially at certain times.. What I have learned is not to keep food in the house that I can not resist - plain and simple as that - I have pretty good will power during the daytime - but at nite I don't - We are food addicts - would you leave a bag of crack on the kitchen table and expect a crack addict not to use it.. Nope.. Its the same for us.. What you are going to learn is that as the weight comes off those foods do lose some of their appeal as they are what made you fat in the 1st place and it's hard work to get the weight off and once it starts coming off you aren't going to want to go back to being obese.. This is why it's not a diet - imho you need to take that word out of your vocabulary - diets don't work - cuz what happens after you go off them - you go back to eating "normal" well our normal is what got us fat in the 1st place. Now a days treats are planned.. You can still have some of the stuff you love - but you have to allow for them with in your calorie budget - do you want to blow your budget on a slice of cheese cake (800 cal) or do you want to eat 2 meals that consist of 400 cal each - get your nutrition and more food.. Me - I want the real food.. Every now and then I will have that piece of cheesecake - but I know I will have to eat lighter at my other meals and that I am going to have to work harder at the gym - heck working out 1 hr on the treadmill I can burn 500 cal - but that's a whole hour - that piece of cheese cake just aint worth the extra exercise.. It's not that one slice of cake that made us fat - it's cuz we didn't stop at that one piece we ate 2 3 or the whole darn thing.. I am glad mil didn't give you any crap about not making the fudge.. Tell her it has that white stuff (sugar) that you need to stay away from :0) to lose the weight :0)

    What are you doing today Melissa - How are you doing - is you mom coming w/you to FL Charlene - you and me on Apples doors step every nite :0) wouldn't that be great :0) Ya I have to stay out of the stores right now - we always have the after xmas sales too :0) Apples - I agree how often do you get to wear that stuff :0) go for it.. Take a pic and post w/your dh :0) My fav Xmas movie - What a Wonderful Life and 2nd is the original Scrooge (made in like the 40's - I think it has William Scott or whatever his name was)

    Question about Diet/Overeating

    I did - I ate limited carbs but still eat carbs/starches every nite with my dinner - You are a guy and you can eat more than us chicks - I ate 800-1200 during my weight loss phase and I lost 105 lbs in a year - and if you are losing weight on what you are eating then it's working - why mess with it - you gotta do what works for you - this is a lifetime lifestyle change so you have to find an eating plan that works for you..
  20. It's not going to do anything to change your dna as far as excess skin once the fat is gone.. But like the others says they are great for holding you in - I wore them when obese - hated my back fat - now weare them due the skin issues - not to bad considering my age - saggy skin is to be expected :0) - I'm not going to have the body of a 20 yrs old after being obese for the majority of my life - but heck I will take the saggy skin over the fat any day - the saggy skin isn't going to kill me - but the fat was going to :0) Good luck on your journey

    Sounds good - I think i will try this - last year I did something like this but it was wasabe peas crushed up and take cream cheese and roll in balls then roll in the wasabe peas stuff - but the problem was I made them the night before and they got mushie - oh just thought of an idea - could do the same thing but use the blocks of cheese instead of the little balls - and rolling them in the morning is doable - May just make a sesame seed one and the a wasabe pea one I'm hungry but soup won't be done for a while - sitting here with cup of Joe - Xmas cd in computer (oldies - bing - dean - frank - I like traditional old time xmas music) wishing it would hurry up and rain..

    Ok I'm back - DS called earlier wanted to know what Andrew wanted for Xmas - then threw on some gray sweats - coach tennies - red thermal shirt - black jacket and some lipstick and went to Winco - Now this is something I usually didn't do when obese (run to the store not fully made up) I don't know for sure if it's the weight loss or my age - it just takes too much time to do the hair and makeup just to run to the store - It's not like I don't care about my appearance - but it is easier to get dressed when you are a smaller size.. I might regret this choice if they was a cute guy at the store - but hell I go to gym naked faced too - I hate those girls who get all made up to exercise.. Got the Oxtail soup going - enchillada's in the oven for Andrew - kitchen cleaned - dish washer unloaded - load in the dryer nother in the wash - just put a xmas cd (oldie bing - dean - frank - I like traditional xmas songs) in while on the computer and drinking a cup of coffee so nap for me :0) well not yet who knows what will happen around 4 ish ;0) Karla - immediate results - walking does - it gets those endorphines going and that makes you feel better GF I hear you on the being settled and routine - I'm the same way - but sometimes we have to go w/the flow.. What did you do with the bars - I need to get started on my cards - that's another thing I planned on doing this weekend.. Well time to put softner in - be back in a bit

    Apples - I love when you share your food - I absoultuly love it .. I think we all do - we are amazed at how you do it (all that cooking and coming up w/the ideas of what to cook diff everyday- that's the hard part) Be happy you aren't having any joint issues - I thought I was free and clear myself til the last few months :0) I'm spoiled rotten too :0)... I need to get dressed and get to the store to get groceries - and to make some soup - it's cold - house say 67 - it's cloudy outside - 30% chance of rain.. Well need to go put softner in clothes :00

    No Karla you aren't being to easy on yourself - this is about the trade offs - not depriving yourself - I would do the exact same thing - It's a good plan.. Yesterday that's why I went with the salad & 1/4 of the bread - and I barely ate the dressing that went with the salad - it was old/vinegar on the side - and I use the ww trick dip fork in dressing then in the salad - well it works better with ranch cuz that sticks to the fork the oil/vinegar doesn't so 3/4 of dressing was still in the container - where as had it been the ranch it wouldn't have been.. Is it to cold/snow for you to take a walk today ?? Oh on the house thingie - yep your sold by Xmas was a little bit of a reach (well really a big one) and other agents will be showing house while your guy is gone - so it's not like it's at a stand still - but w/the holidays - you may not be getting so many lookers so you can chill and not worry so much about keeping the house super immaculate - less stress on you.. I love to play cards too - use to do it all the time - I love to play spades - that's my game.. Use to be really good at it - I would shock the pple I use to play with cuz they didn't think I could play ;0) that and domino's ya gotta understand - I played these games w/mostly african americans and they didn't think this little white girl could play - well I would shock them :0)
