FYI for the pple who have fb accounts Do not open any FACEBOOK emails as it could be a virus!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! got this warning from our it person - Facebook Christmas Worm Spreads Holiday Infection Koobface, the worm that has plagued Facebook, Twitter and other social sites, is back. The latest version of the infamous Koobface worm carries a Christmas greeting that can render victims' computers inoperable. PandaLabs, the research arm of anti-malware company Panda Security, says that a variant of the Koobface worm, Koobface.GK, is being spread through the posting of malicious links of Facebook wall pages. The links take Facebook users to a fake embedded video player that offers a Christmas greeting, in keeping with the tendency of cybercriminals to try to exploit current or seasonal events. Attempting to play the video or to click on the links on the page leads to an infection attempt, which will compromise the victim's computer if successful. Once installed, the malware presents a CAPTCHA image that threatens to reboot the computer within three minutes. Solving the CAPTCHA puzzle at the worm's behest creates new Facebook accounts to help the worm spread. PandaLabs says that while the infected computer does not shut down if the victim does not solve the CAPTCHA image within three minutes, it is rendered inoperable. The computer's operating system isn't damaged so badly that it requires a clean system installation, but Sean-Paul Correll, threat researcher at PandaLabs, says that the typical user will not be able to escape the CAPTCHA screen presented by the malware. Luis Corrons, technical director of PandaLabs, says that social networks have become a popular attack vector because users tend to trust messages that appear to come from friends. Cisco's 2000 Annual Security Report also sees risk in social networks and notes that the Koobface worm has affected approximately 3 million computers. "New attacks rely on social media users' willingness to respond to messages that supposedly originate from people they know and trust," the report says. "It is easier -- and often, more lucrative -- to fool a social media user in order to launch an attack or exploit or steal personal information." To prove that point, Sophos, another security firm, set up two fake Facebook accounts to see how much personal information users would reveal upon receiving a friend request from an unknown person. After sending 200 friend requests from the two fake accounts, Sophos won 95 "friends" who revealed personal information about themselves and about others they knew. The impact of attacks that arrive through social networks affects businesses as well as consumers. Cisco says that as much as 2% of Web traffic on corporate networks comes from social media sites. Correll says that business users should worry about attacks through social networks, just like consumers.

Steph - WTG on your skinny latte and yes it's a step.. I know you are in the middle of no where - but sweetie if your doc is stupid and doesn't beleive in depression (even thought it's a medical fact) then YOU MUST MAKE TIME to go to the next town over or where ever you have to go - That's an order - hell this is why you most likely left us for a while cuz you got tired of our advice  The longer you stay locked up in the house the harder it is to get out - I know this from experience .. I know you do have the time - cuz I read somewhere that you were basically locked up in the house (or I thought I read this)- except I know from FB you are going places - so if you make time for snowmobile auctions/raffles - then I think you need to make time for YOU... Yep that's the hardest part of the band - is you can't just grab anything to eat ... This is why we need you back - and it's good for you to focus on us - gets you from thinking too much about you - hell - too much thinking isnt always a good thing :0) - Hugs Hugs Hugs - Love having you back !! -
Linda - I use to decorate my xmas cookie to the 10th degree but now a days I just let the kids slap on the frosting - I just do the roll out cut out sugar cookies w/frosting - and maybe some choc chip and oatmeal raisin but that's it for my cookies - my family like just plain stuff - I don't care for the licorse ones - one time someone brought them to work the looked really good but once I bit into it - black licorice ugh Sending sunshine & warmth to my northern/eastern peeps - I think it's suppose to be like 72 or 74 - my car said 50 as I was driving to work.. I am so impressed on how well you are doing !!! You go girl.. I go tomorrow for my MRI on my knee - it hasn't been bothering me - I think it only does when I am on my feet for hours - this is my 1st MRI - the only thing I have ever had is xrays.. LauraK yours sounds good cuz of the peanut butter - I love peanut butter ;0) Julie - I am so happy that you are feeling so much better that's such great news.. Well gang at work - just cking in again - gotta get busy so will cbl

Good Morning Gang.. Oh Karla - hugs - so they are having you stage your house.. Move the Christmas tree - How dumb imho.. This is their opionion - its not set in stone.. Plus you have to be able to live in the house. Your quilting sewing is your life line - you gotta find away to keep those things.. You know what - don't do anything till after Christmas - How many pple are you going to have between now and xmas - Then after the holidays stage the house. Sorry about not being able to eat - that's the pits - that's the problem w/our bands at time.. When we were in Canada this past summer - we were eating at the fast food court - If I remember right - Phyl - Me and Candice all got stuck on our food and ended up in the bathroom - Tracy (phyl's DD) thought it was sorta funny I think - she thinks that we do that all the time - when the truth is we don't - but that day and we did.. Well - I went to bed like 8:30 last nite - didn't go right to sleep but got in bed -

Apples - Come on now GF you know men are just big old babies when it comes to medical stuff... I do have a question - for us who are banded how in the heck in 10 yrs when we have to redo our colonoscopies - how in the hell are we going to drink a gallon of that crap - I drank it fast when I had to do mine - but heck I can't do that any more - so I think they need to give us a pill to clean us out ... Cheri - you had me cracking up - cake being the vehicle for the frosting - I'm with you there - but I like butter cream frosting - I love any kind of fat - oil - butter and I'm a carnivore too (I like my meat bloody) but I want the starches with the meat - Fired chicken hell the skin is the best part Hell or ck fried steak w/white gravy yummy - there isn't too much in this world I don't like or won't try - so I would say that right there is what my problem is/was - I LOVE IT ALL (Fat Sugar Starch Meat)- I LOVE food - I AM ADDICTED TO FOOD.. Laura K - What's puppy chow :0) - I have heard of trash mix that Great is talking about but not puppy chow.. Linda & Julie - Yep you gotta LOVE PAULA Great - I like to cook - I rather eat a home cooked meal than eating out - now I like to eat certain things out like lobster but other than that - I like my own cooking Hugs & Prayers GF on your surgery tomorrow - know we will be thinking of you - and ya I though Ann Taylor was the designer too Julie - what's sour cream raisin bars - sounds good I like raisin;0) Linda how old is you gd - Heck I started all my grandkids out making xmas Cookies at an early age - like 2 or 3.. I had 3 oz pork tenderloin for bf - a spinach salad w/tuna & red onion for lunch - and a small had full of dry roasted nuts You can see why I am ready for dinner :0) CBL

Steph - Steph - Steph - Hugs Hugs Hugs You need to take care of you too - are you on your depression meds - have you told the counsler how you feel about all this... I have never done long term counseling - and it was only once a week.. You are not a failure - you are just hitting a rough patch right now and working on making things better - that is a posititive. Eating - Well what can I say - I do understand - but it's just making you feel that much worse in the long run.. So this is your Big Sis or Auntie Janet - telling you - pull up those boot straps young lady and control what you are putting in your mouth - you might not be able to control whats going on around you - but you do have control of what you put in your mount... How old is Nick - How is Michael doing - What's up w/Jeff is he being receptive to the counseling?? We love you - we are here for you if you need to vent - come and vent - and hell we all are downers at one time or another,.. Candice - WTG on the exercise - once you become retired you are going to be beating me on the whole exercise issue.. -

Apples - I can eat a couple tamales - my fav is the masa part - but after 2 or 3 - I'm done - plus I wouldn't even guess at the calories :0).. When the Food Channel first came out about 20 yrs ago now I think I watched it all the time - and gained weight.. I don't watch it as much now a days - but love Alton Brown - and American Iron Cheft
-
Good Morning Gang Jewel - Hugs on the MIL - how much longer do you all have to live w/them - Have you ever had a good relationship w/her. Deb - Your experience in the asharm sounds interesting :0) My doc makes you go back to post op diet for a week each phase - Just take it slow - you know your body.. Julie - OMG I LOVE hearing that you got a good nites rest !! Apples - OMG you are sheltered !!!! You don't know tamales and polenta - I guess you never watch the food channels - very unusual for a fat chick - it's our fav channel ;0) lol... Tamales are a mexican food - masa (corn meal like substains mixed with lard) spread on a corn husk - you can fill them with chicken - beef - pork cooked in a red sauce made from chilie - or you can stuff them with cheese & jalepeno (my fav) then you wrap them up and steam them - It's traditional in a mex family to make these on Xmas eve.. They take some work as you have to mix the masa & lard so that it floats in a glass of water - they take a bit of work but once you have the system down it's not bad - I have made them all by myself - but its usually a family get together to make them.. Here's a link to show you the diff kind of tamales - they even have sweet - dessert ones tamales - Google Images Come to my house and I will show you how to make them :0) - I am a pretty darn good cook - I cook mexican - italian - american - soul/southern - Poleneta - is itailian corn meal mush - I think Deb explained earlier - you make corn meal mushie - chill it - then cut it and fry it - bake it - bbq it - sorta like a dense biscut - I don't no how to explain it - here's a link that shows the diff uses for it polenta - Google Images Ann Taylor Loft has a little lesser expensive clothes a little younger a little more casual/classice - Ann Taylor is very Classic Great maybe able to explain it better - I like the loft better then the reg ann taylor store.. Ok I gotta get this posted and to work :0)

As to why Karri may be moving to Portland next yr is cuz they got a grant to open up a new charter school - the same place she works now - and they may even do one in NYC - I told her to go for the NYC one - so I can come and visit :0) - How cool would that be to have a NYer to be able to show you around and a free place to stay ;0) She laughed and told her DH I wanted them to go to NY ;0) Phly - LOVE LOVE that story.... I chatted with Linda a little bit on FB last night - but it was 8 and I had to go eat - I guess school is tough for her right now... Karla - It's ok if the house looks a little lived in. Well Back from the gym - legs tonite - didn't work up that much of a sweat - maybe cuz it's cold outside. Candice - Love the pic's too cute OMG I am so envious of your retirement - Lucky Lucky Girl !!! I just found out that we have 26 furlough days not 24 - some how cuz we are really paid hourly - even thought we are really paid salary but aren't considered exempt they back in to our pay ck's - Even though there are 2 months where I will have 3 friday's off - it' won't affect my paycheck - At 1st I didn't get it but now I do - the our bookkeepper said I thought you would know this cuz you did books - I said we were paid salary back then and I didn't need to know that stuff.. Then she tells me her assist - made a mistake and my payck tomorrow is going to show that I am getting paid for the 11 hrs I have left of pto (I was carrying that over) She said no one else knows - so I still get to keep my 11 hrs pto - pretty cool to have freinds in high places.. Well - that's about it - I have discovered steel cut oatmeal - pretty good you get 1.75 cup for 150 calories - but I made it a little to thin - I was starving by lunch.. Went out w/gf Candy (I have 2 Candice's in my life ;0) and had chineese - only 1/4 c rice Was starving when I got home right now so sipping a cup of decaf - cooking my butternut squash to go with my leftover pork tenderloin from last night.. Candice - What is Ruby having surgery for - Karri is suppose to call me at 7 tonite... -
Now I like cornmeal mush - aka grits - but the savoy kind not the sweet kind (I got some instant varitiy packs that have 150 cal in it to try as a side dish for dinner - haven't tryed them yet - I like shrimp and grits and you can make a lower fat verison)r - - haven't ever eaten cream of wheat or malt o meal :0)
-
Charlene - I haven't hated oatmeal since I was in my 30's prior to that it just looked awful and I remember once my Mom MADE us eat some (I can only remember 2 times her ever making us eat something we didn't like) I didn't like the consistance I think and she may not have put enough sugar in it - I don't remember I was like 4 yrs old .. I got the quaker brand - normal size carton - Steel Cut Oats Like I said I put alot of cinnamon (maybe 1 tsp) in it and splenda brown sugar (maye 1 tblesn) and raisin it was a little too watery - but I may have put too much water in - some walunts would have made it even better...
-
OMG - What have I been missing out on - I have used those stupid little weight control oatmeal packs - 160 cal 7 grms pt and barely makes a cup -hell I think it makes only half a cup.. I made it this morning - I think I used to much water it said 1.5 cups (I think I used just a little too much and this was before I had my coffee ;0) threw in some cinnamon and splenda brown sugar - brought to a boil - threw in 1/4 c oats stirred and covered - ck'd on it after shower - then forgot about it - but it was fine it was on low - threw in the raisin and poured it into a container that holds 1.75 cups .. Well Peeps - Steel Cut Oats is the way to go !!! I think this breakfast wil keep me full - where as oatmeal doesnt usually.. And this is coming from a person who use to hate oatmeal as a child and young adult - didn't start liking it till I was in my 30's..
-
Laura I am so sorry that the news wasn't what you were hoping and praying for.. What can I say - nothing that's going to make you feel any better - Just know I am thinking of you and sending you big old hugs...
-
Ok Steel Cut Oat Girls I used 1/4 c - that's what the instructions said for 1 serving - but I have a bowl that hollds 1.75 c and it's full - is this right I get all this food for 150 calories ???
-
Hi Kim - Welcome - You are to tight imho if you can't eat meat - you can't live on protein drinks and bars... The band isn't about being so tight that you can't eat at all - it's about eating a smaller portion that's it - it doesn't take away your cravings and as you know you can sure eat around it. You need to be able to eat regular food - 4 oz of hard protein (meat/fish etc) and veggies and some starches.. I would discuss this w/your doc - maybe have some taken out - I have only had 2 fills and haven't had one since 1/08 and don't need another one.. Keep us posted Hi Carolyn - you have been banded 7.5 yrs OMW I don't know many pple who have been banded that long .. I am not tight in the mornings never have been - I usually drink coffee when I get up at 5 and then don't eat till around 8 or 9.. I would try something hot before you try to eat - alot of pple have issues with morning eating - if that doesn't work I would call your doc.. Jessica - I hate to tell you this but I think it is very important to know this prior to surgery - My 50+ ladies told me this prior to my being banded and I think it's the most usefull thing I have learned on lbt and it prepared me for my journey You will fight yourself for a long time - maybe forever - about your food choices - the band doesn't make those for you. I can eat a bag of candy or a 2 cup bowl of mashed potatoes with a stick of butter in them if I chose too - and I am at my sweet spot.. Our bands are only tools - that's it - it's not the magic cure all to our issues with food - Just like any addiction - it's a life long battle - some days are easier than other - there will be days that you fall off the wagon - but what you have to do - is pull yourself up by your boots straps and move forward. Heck if you surf this board - you will find pple who are suppose to be on full liquieds 3 days out eating hamburger.. The purpose of the post op diet is to let your band/stomach heal (they sew your stomach around your band) this has to heal so that you don't have slips - it's VERY IMPORTANT to follow your doc's post op diet to heal correctly and pervent damage down the road..
