Hello everyone.
I started my journey on July 5th, 2012 weighing in at 281 pounds. I am 47, am 5'6, and carry my weight evenly all over my body. My surgery was November 19th, so I am almost one week out. I lost 25 pounds before my surgery and have dropped another 5 pounds.
My surgery went very well. The only time I have had any nausea was in the recovery room and for the first hour or so once I reached my room. The pain has gotten better each day and I am only taking pain meds once a day now rather than every four hours!
Eating is totally different now. Getting the 80 grams of protein in is impossible. I am doing about 40 as of today and trying to get more but it just doesn't work. Water is another battle. I sip all day and can handle about 32 oz a day so far in combination with the protein. Every day is getting better though and I have confidence that I will get up to the amounts...its just a matter of when!
My goal weight is 140 pounds but I will be happy to be between 170 - 180. I have not been that slim since high school almost 30 years ago, WOW! I guess I am fortunate in the fact that other than arthritis and morbid obesity I am in great health with no other health conditions other than sleep apnea, which will hopefully disappear as the weight disappears! I am so thankful and so excited to be on this journey to total transformation, inside and out!
