    Does hunger come back?

I am having similar issues. I am 5 1/2 months out and have been stalled or gaining/losing for a few weeks now. I am going to try just doing protein for a week or so to see if I can get a jump start and find a way to beat the head hunger and physical hunger that I let win everyday!! I would love some meal suggestions for good proteins in hopes of keeping it good and not boring so im not tempted to reach for the bad foods!!! Thanks!!!
  4. I am 5 months post op and lately all I do is eat eat and eat. I know I am eating way more than I should be able to and believe me thats not an exageration!! I am eating (snacking) so often and sometimes cant figure out why I can still keep going. I battle the old demons of head hunger not physical hunger and my head always wins mostly because I miss enjoying big meals. Does anyone know if it is possible to have already stretched out my stomach in 5 months?? Sometimes I just want to go to my doc and say please xray my stomach and tell me if ive stretched it just in hopes of finding out im maybe not doing so horrible after all. Would greatly appreciate any incite!!!!! Thanks!!!
  5. I am 4 months post op today and I am having issues with my weight going up a few pounds and down then back up and so on and so on!! I know if I am honest I have not been making the best food choices every time but in comparrison to pre surgery I am still eating ALOT less. I am also having head issues where I want to eat all the time. Physically I cant say Im hungry but my head says different so when my stomach can hold it my head wins! Sometimes I wonder if I have stretched my stomach out already with the amount if food I eat in a day sometimes!! As of this morning I was back up those same few pounds so I have lost 47 pounds since surgery 60 total. I know that is really good and I should stop being depressed because its not more. I could really use some advice from all the expierenced sleevers out there!!

    Very happy!

You look great!! Good job!!! I would love to know what a typical day of your diet is, food wise! I am still struggling to figure out what the best choices and best routes are with food.

    5 Confessions (Join In)

I confess: 1. I think about food constantly! 2. I want a frozen burrito I get from the store with sour cream, cheese, and hot sauce so bad I cant stand it!! 3. I miss being able to sit and eat a ton of any food I want and feeling totally satisfied after. 4. I started on soft foods yesterday and feel like I can eat way more than I should be able to and this surgery wont work. 5. I fear I will fail and stay fat and then not be able to eat the amounts I used to and be just as miserable as I am being fat. 6. I still wonder everyday if I made the right choice or should I have given "dieting" one last chance. 7. I am 15 days post op and have no trouble drinking liquids but still do not get even close to 64 ounces of Fluid a day much less Protein. 8. I hate protein drinks!! 9. I fear when I lose weight I still wont have many friends and still have no love life and never have any of the dreams for my life come true.

    UHOH....

Thank yall!! I feel better now. Im sure you are absolutely right! My stomach was prob thinking finally youve decided to feed me again!! As well as my guilt over jumping ahead a few days. It was really runny so Im prob ok im sure its gone straight thru or maybe i did eat to much but i think i just paniced there!! LOL!!
  10. Today I am 11 days post op and I am still on the full liquid diet until Thurs and I decided to puree some potato soup and had some. It was the consistancy of really runny mashed potatoes and some light apple juice. I find myself feeling somewhat weird now. A little fast heart rate but not sick. Did I just majorly screw up?? Anyone else expierence something like this?

    Week 2

Yes, yes! I have the same fears!! I am on day 5 post op and struggling with head hunger and just worried that when I do finally get back on solid foods that I might fail! I know it is just a head psych out going on and this tool was a good choice and I will be successful but it is still rough at times fighting those thoughts!! I definitly realize I need to find some hobbies lol!! While im at home from work recovering my usual go to would have been food and tv and now i find myself being bored and cant fill my boredom with food so that will be my next goal!! Good luck on your journey!!!
  12. Well I am on day 5 of the post op clear liquid diet and I am struggling a bit. I am so tired of juice and water and broth smells are not setting well with me. So i decided to jump ahead a little and have some carnation instant breakfast (hot). Im really only few hours shy of being day 6 when I could start but I just couldnt wait!! Having something warm seemed to help! I am looking forward to some soups and protein shakes. I am struggling with wanting to eat though. But I cant figure out if I am physically hungry or head hungry and just missing solid foods that I love so much! I would love to hear from others going through similar situations. I would also love to hear from sleevers that are further along and let me know if i will ever again be able to enjoy the foods i love and miss just in smaller quantities.
