Bad time with PCOS. Slower weight loss but still coming off. 4.5 months post op, down 60 lbs! Happy but wishing it was faster. -

Anyone with PCOS?
sstark1285 replied to nataliesunshine's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I was diagnosed at 16. I'm now 28. I went 3 years with no period, I have thick dark hair on my face and neck and chin that waxing does not pull out. I have make patterned baldness so my hair is very thin on top, and a very large stomach. I am 3 moths post op and down 40 lbs. it's a slow loss but either way I'm losing. The hair issue is not resolving on my face, and more is falling out on my head. The weight comes off everywhere but my tummy (but eventually it will!). However, my period is back, a perfect cycle to the 28th day. Overall, PCOS is a tough one, but if you are TTC, your fertility will be back in no time! My husband loves me the way I am and the weight IS coming down. Overall, I feel so much better and symptoms will lessen over time. Good luck! -
So as of this morning I at 215 from 253, so down 38 lbs. I feel like its going slower than most and that frustrated me, but my skin isn't really saggy so I'm ok with it going slower I guess. Eating ok- sometimes I don't hit my protein or water goals.. But I feel great and would do this 1000000 times over. So happy.

Yes still have it. -
I am 12 weeks post of and doing well. No complications. This past week I started developing gas pains in my shoulder when I eat and they are PAINFUL. I experienced these directly after surgery but now they are back 3 months later but only when i eat. Has anyone experienced this?

My husband and I were talking about how we wanted another baby but we dont want to wait that much longer. I am about 3 months out and I still have 60ish lbs to go. If for some reason, we did decide to try, would my weight loss pick up where i left off before pregnancy? I know ill have to shed some baby weight, but Im concerned with losing that fast rate of loss the first six months. Just convince me I should wait a year post op. CONVINCE ME PEOPLE!

I am experiencing what you are. I am only 3 months out, but i lose MAYBE a pound a week. I upped my carb count to 35 and it seemed to help. Believe it or not, i added in some whole grains and healthy carbs and it did the trick. Good luck, i know its frustrating, especially when i see someone with my stats and surg. date lost double what I have. It will come off, It HAS to.

Body proportions-way off

That's great advice! Thank you so much! -
I'm struggling with the way I'm losing weight. I carry ALL of my weight in my stomach. I am down about 37 lbs in 10 weeks , however I am not losing the belly. My legs and butt can fit into a size 13 jean, but my tummy is still a tight 18. Does anyone else struggle with this? Are there ways to lose tummy fat? I'm very low carb (under 25/ day) and avoid sugar and sf substitutes. Don't get me wrong, I'm still thrilled at my weight loss, but the tummy was an issue before and still is. Help!

I love almond flour, coconut oil, coconut flour etched. I do a sf, gf, paleo diet and I feel so good! I occasionally have flour or sugar and I feel craaaapppppyy afterward.

I keep reading on here about those who are struggling with guilt when they eat. Until yesterday I was one if those people. I am 6 weeks post op and yesterday we had a family function where everyone ordered pizza. I took a small slice, cut it in half and ate the half, except the back crust (the part where you hold). Afterwards I felt such a tremendous amount of guilt, I was depressed, angry, and frustrated that even after his surgery that food was STILL controlling my emotions. I just want to be normal! Eat like a normal, healthy person and FEEL and look healthy. Here was my revelation. A healthy, normal person DOES eat a slice of pizza and enjoys it without all the negative emotion attached. Food has no power over me if I don't give it power over me. A small slice of pizza is not a bad choice (as long as its not a trigger food, as long as solids are cleared by your doc, and as long as you eat a normal serving size for your sleeve). 2 months ago I would have eaten 3 slices, maybe 4, with a coke and some garlic knots...so why the heck am I crucifying myself? THAT Is not healthy, not the pizza. Free yourself. The weight will come off and you will lose the mental heaviness as well.
