Deposit at marriott in tijuanna
fletcherette replied to confidence's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
Yes I was there in march and they took the 100$ and refunded it. I guess they had issues with people smoking in non smoking rooms so they started taking a deposit, no biggy -

Staying regular in first few months?
fletcherette posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have IBS and have always suffered from constipation. Prior to being sleeved I would take psyllium husk fiber capsules. I'm thinking that at 6 weeks post op a bulking fiber isn't a good idea. So what's everyone doing to stay regular? I've had to take stool softeners a few times since surgery but what are some safe options at this point post op that can I take/do to keep things regular to avoid getting to the point of constipation? -

If it makes you feel better I'm 6 weeks out and only down 25lbs so you're way ahead of me but it doesn't bother me, because prior to my sleeve it took me 6 months to lose 20 lbs so this is definitely a step up for me, and I figure this way hopefully I won't have saggy skin. And remember above all weight loss is weight loss, progress is being made no matter how big or seemingly small -

Did anyone breakout from allergic reaction?
fletcherette replied to ncdimps's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
I did from the tape around my drain site. It itched worse then the incisions :-( I used hyrdocortisone cream for it. I'm 5weeks out and still have skin discoloration from it. Yours sounds a bit worse though I only had the rash around the drain site where the tape was. -
Where is my March Sleeves?
fletcherette replied to Laurabrown929's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Wow congrats all. I'm 5 weeks out, down 22lbs (2 pant sizes) I honestly wish it was more but ill settle for any weight loss. I'm averaging 500 calories a day and wondering if uping my calories will boost the weight loss. The past two weeks I've only lost 1lb each week. :-( kinda bummed about that. Worried I may not even make it close to my goal weight at this pont. Just gotta keep pushing forward I suppose -
Same company?
fletcherette replied to butterflydreamer's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
From what I understand from old posts R4AC came first and ALM was created by ex R4AC employees. (Someone correct me if I'm wrong please) Do a board search there's old posts about how the two are connected -
My poor experience with A Lighter Me
fletcherette replied to dawndenise's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
I had problems contacting my coordinator while in mexico (thankfully it wasn't for too serious of an issue) my issue with these coordinating companies is that they don't have people available all the time. I get they are human and need a day off or such, but the companies need to hire more people so that someone is always working. Just my two cents -
Hey all, Just wanted to share my progress. I am 1 month post op (technically 32 days) I had my surgery with Dr. Garcia at MiDoctor. As of today I have lost 22lbs (forever!) and feel great. The only issues I still have are minor incision pain (from the biggest one), I can only sip little bits of plain Water (I think I gulp too much air with it and gives me a big air bubble in my chest) and a gurggly stomach every night when I lay in bed. But those are such MINOR things that don’t faze me at all. I have no trouble getting all my Protein and liquid in daily, and am able to exercise for at least 30mins 6x a week. I got the greatest compliment the other day, I went and got my hair cut (felt like going short after losing this weight) and my stylist (who has known me for years) said I looked great and was "glowing" and wanted to know what I was doing (she thought I was preggo LOL). When I shared my sleeve experience she was super happy and excited to see more progress at my next appointment I've added a pic to show my progress. Here's to a successful 2nd month! Edit to add: would I do this again? Yup I would. It's not all been sunshine and flowers, but "nothing worth having comes easy" and this is worth having

Hmm may want to double check that. When the doc took my staples out he specifically not to worry because they had internal stitches. On a random side note I talked to a girl while at MiDoctor who had the surgery a few months ago ànd she said that the internal stitches "pop" and that when they did it was painful. I haven't heard that anywhere else and have wondered if its true- it made me super paranoid lol -
Not even 2wks out n only have lost 11.3lbs
fletcherette replied to emr80's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had the same issue the first week I lost 13lbs then the second week got my period and didn't even lose a pound. But after my period I dropped another 5lbs. Don't stress it give your body a chance to catch up and figure itself out -

Yeah they do the dissolvable stitches on the inside of the incisions and staples on the out. I liked that they did it that way because then you are guaranteed to have a dr come check on you at the hotel and answer any last questions or concerns. I was just surprised the dr didn't have all the bandage supplies he needed. He did have the steri strips thankfully lol -

Don't forget to check out local thrift stores that's where I got my pjs for surgery, paid only a few bucks so I don't mind donating them now that they're too big -

Wow, who's your dr? This is the first I've heard of people being sent to the hotel with the drain. I thought they always took it out before being discharged from the hospital. Hope you get the care you need, please keep us posted -
