Can anyone provide me with the names of lap band surgeons in western Canada? I don't like to fly and I'm afraid of leaving Canada for this surgery. Apparently SWLC was going to open a facility in Calgary last Fall but due to government regulations they have shelved that idea. I am on the Calgary Weight Management program wait list for this surgery. Unfortunately, the Weight Management program is not being funded at present. The Weight Management program personnel are just providing after-care for those who have already had the surgery. I don't expect the government to ever come through for me so I'm looking for self-pay options in western Canada. Thanks for your help everyone.

Just wondering if there are any Canadian bandsters who have had their surgery done with Dr. Kirshenbaum in Colorado? Are there any Canadian bandsters who have had lap-band surgery anywhere in the US and if so what are the pros/cons. How did it work out for you?
