I also went thru kaiser. Loved my experience. And no leak test! I wasn't looking forward to it so that was a pleasant surprise. -

Not for me. If you are talking about right after surgery? I didn't have a leak test. -

I'm glad to hear you say you are able to eat more because I was getting concerned that I can also eat way more than I should. I can eat a cup of soup comfortably. I are 1/2 c mashed potatoes and 2 oz roast with a tbsp of gravy last night. I'm losing slowly and wonder if its because I'm able to eat well. Also I was so hungry by dinner last night! Crazy. -

That doesn't sound good. They need to culture the wound and see what grows out. Make sure you are on the right treatment. Hope the doc can give you some good news today. -
January 2013 Sleevers?
mizzzliza replied to LenaVSG's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Good luck to the last but certainly not least of the January sleevers!!! -
Grey, that is an excellent suggestion! I think I'm going to portion out what I brought home so I can more easily track what I'm eating. And super girl, I have learned that the feeling of fullness is not the same post sleeve. I don't feel that bloaty stomach stretched feeling like I would have before surgery. It's a more localized sense of tightness than really a feeling of fullness. A few days ago, it became much easier for me to eat and drink more at a time. I'm 3 weeks today. I am trying to get into a routine of always getting my fluids cause sometimes I'm just lazy about it, so today so far I have eaten this: First thing when I woke up I drank a premier chocolate shake. About 6:30 am. Then about 8oz coffee ( yeah I know, not supposed to haha but I was cold and it tastes soooo good) then 22oz of Water by 9:00. Breakfast was 1/2 a bratwurst. It's now 11:40am and I just finished my second 22oz of water. Getting ready to cut off fluids so I can eat lunch by 12:30. Leftovers from last night. So far I am comfortable. Don't feel bloated from the water, no pain in my sleeve. That would not have been the case a week ago. I think for myself anyway it's not my body will not allow me to get fluids in its just that it has to be a priority. Anyway. Sorry for the long post.

That was a really good non confrontational way to get to the bottom of this. Your friend really helped you out. So glad to hear you are in their thoughts and there was no drama. It can damage workplace relationships so easily. Let us know what shows up at your door!

Colon Cleanse please help
mizzzliza replied to Carol Watts's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Fiber is always best but also there is kondremul. It's emulsified mineral oil not a laxative. Just in case you don't want laxative solutions. -
[quote=Lisa ]Carbsmart is made by Kroger (Ralph's). My FAVORITE way to eat greek yogurt is to whip up 2 tbs of Trader Joe's Organic whipped cream cheese with 8 oz of 0% greek yogurt (my personal favorite is Trader Joe's b/c the Protein content is so high). I add a few drops of vanilla extract as well and I sweeten with Splenda. Tastes like cheesecake!!!! I add blueberries or strawberries and then I sprinkle with 1/2 of a crushed graham cracker. It's AMAZING!!! i can never eat it all so I usually split into 2 servings. What is the protein content in trader joes yogurt? I don't normally shop there, but I easily could.

Exactly what I was thinking LMAO! I know I didn't have any tape residue on the girls when I woke up.

post op diet differences
mizzzliza replied to kthack657's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Your diet looks almost identical to mine except I can't have eggs till day 31. I did progress myself kinda right past the whole puréed thing though. I'm eating soft boiled eggs and turkey sausage for breakfast, soup for lunch (split pea today) and well chewed meat with a mushy cooked veggie for dinner. Doing fine with it. Not sure how my doc is gonna like it when I see him on Thursday but I'm loving it. -
January Newbies ! Progress ?
mizzzliza replied to sarahzamudio1091's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
That is so fantastic! I was sleeved jan 9 and have lost 15lbs post op for a total of 55 lbs. weight seems to be coming off slower now that pre surg but as long as it goes, I'm trying not to stress. Just means I will be able to wear my clothes a little longer in between runs to the goodwill. -
January 2013 Sleevers?
mizzzliza replied to LenaVSG's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Truthfully I could have gone back to work a couple days after my surgery but I decorate cakes on the side and had orders to get done so thought what the heck. They gave me the time. May as well take it. Glad you're feeling good. -

If the comorbidities are for bmi less than 40, just gain a little more weight. I know it's the last thing any of us want to do but I've talked to others who did just that. Get your bmi over 40 and get it recorded. -

I'm so sorry you're having so many problems. I would have been frantic if stuff started squirting out of me! Does not sound like fun. Hopefully you will heal quickly now that it's been cleaned up. Once you are on the mend, I bet you start loving your sleeve. Please update us when you have time. -
January 2013 Sleevers?
mizzzliza replied to LenaVSG's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have lost slowly in my opinion. Almost 3 weeks and I'm 15lbs down. I was losing slowly before I changed my diet though. My whole 2nd week I didn't lose anything. I'm not too concerned about racing to the finish line. Sure it would be nice but I know I will continue to go in the right direction. Also I start back to work next week so wanted to be on a more regular eating pattern so I have some idea what to pack for lunch. -

New guy here, you've GOT to read this!
mizzzliza replied to BigFrank's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I know your frustration frank. I'm only 2 1/2 weeks out and have already gone a whole week with no loss. Finally the scale is moving again. I think during this first month (42 days really) of being on a restricted diet I'm trying not to worry too much. Seems like full liquids and puréed foods has a higher carb count than I would like but until I'm at the point where I can make better decisions, not much to do. Not sure what you're able to eat but maybe your body is still adjusting to changes. I know you will start losing again. Just be patient. As for the clothes not fitting? Congrats! I, too had to dig deep into my closet to discover one pr of pants I could still wear. Took some time today to visit the thrift store. Hard not to just want to refill my closet but what's the use? I expect it's going to be a revolving door for the next year. -
Sounds delicious. I make southwestern turkey burgers that I'm hoping I will be able to tolerate once I can eat more. Mix turkey breast with turkey Italian sausage. Add diced green chilis, cumin, chili powder, salt, pepper ummm maybe garlic powder and onion powder. I thought I could make them into meatballs instead of patties so they would be pre measured and I could grab and go for work

From 288lbs to 195lbs! 93 pounds Gone *Pic inside*
mizzzliza replied to MsFab1988's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Wow 195 looks good on you! I would have never guessed you still weigh that much. You look fabulous!! I guess I just need to add more height to my weight lol. -
I just started puréed food on Wednesday and haven't been very successful. I can do cottage cheese and cream soups and yogurts and puddings. But anything like puréed meats and I just can't stand the texture. Also the thicker stuff sits at the top of my throat it seems like. Waiting to come back up. Think I'm going to stick to protein shakes for a while longer.
