This Pre-Op Diet Has Me Feeling Sick

Sounds like a stomach bug or there is something in the protein shake not agreeing with you at all. What kind are you drinking? -
How Much Weight During Pre-Op Diet
stomlin75 replied to Lisa22465's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I started last Friday and am down 8 pounds. I started at 290 and am now 282. Feels good. -
I am totally tired of the pre-op diet but I just keep reminding myself each moment of why i am doing this. I also had a great conversation this evening with a colleague who is a gastroenterologist surgeon. I very much trust his opinion and thoughts as a friend and colleague. I wondered if this pre-op diet truly made a difference and he said that is definitely does and to stick with it no matter what. He reminded me that it will be over soon. Eating has become a routine thing for me now..same thing each day. I ignore others who eat, change the TV channel is I see food and do my best to find other stuff to do. I have completed my 5th day today - down 6 pounds as of this morning.

So, it looks like we are close in dates..I'm Dec. 7. Would be nice to stay in touch. Tonight I cheated a litle on the pre-op and ate 1 cup of sweet potato instead of 1/2 cup. Then I looked up the calories..ugh! I never would have balked at that before. So odd.

Looking For Dec Sleevers Out There
stomlin75 replied to mandyMO's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I'm on day 4 of the pre-op now and things are finally beginning to feel kind of normal again. The first 2 days were kind of rough. The no caffeine was the worst and I just made sure I took advil. The trick is to just take it one day at a time and find other stuff to do. I've been cleaning alot. In those first few days, I was definitely bitchy but that is slightly better now. Take your vitamin...it does help. -

I am day 3 into my pre-op diet....I sure as heck hope this gets easier. I am hungry!! I have lost some weight already which is nice but whew, this is not easy. I keep reminding myself that it's all worth it in the end and that it beats ending up with an open surgery. My surgeon won't postpone the surgery if you have an enlarged liver but will rather just do it open instead...something I very much want to avoid. The diet I am on is also not that bad compared to doing liquids only. It's high protein - 800 calories per day - but very specific about what I am allowed to eat. 1 cup Kashi Go Lean with 1/2 cup skim milk in the morning, 3/4 cup low fat cottage cheese and 1/2 cup fruit for lunch and then 3 oz. lean protein with 2 cups of salad greens for dinner. I can substitute any of these with a protein shake. Anyone else on something similiar?

Help, Vomiting Yellow Bile With Traces Of Bright Red Blood
stomlin75 replied to Globetrotter's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
This sounds exactly what it was like when I had gall stones. I suggest going to the ER or doc ASAP. If it is gall stones, you will feel 100% better to have it removed. The surgery is no biggie. -
Hey everyone! I'm Steph and getting sleeved on Dec.7. I start the pre-op diet tomorrow and this is making it much more real. I'm getting super nervous but I'm excited too. Would love to connect with others here.
