Yes, this is normal. Don't worry about the stalls because you can stall for 2 to 3 weeks and then all of a sudden you will drop 10lbs. It can be discouraging but just stay consistent with getting your proteins and water in and you will start to see the scale move again!

Yep, that's my problem. I had a repair as well and i thought there was something wrong with my throat. I just had my 6 week follow up and my doctor said it was normal and it would get better. -
I had to start taking Pepcid for my reflux a week after my surgery. My Surgeon has me taking it twice a day. I wasn't in anything prior.

Thank you all for the help. I know I have to break a lot of old habits in this process. So far so good with slowing down and taking smaller bites. -
Is my throat broken or am i eating too fast?
MsGee33 posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm 26 days post op and I feel like everything is getting stuck in my throat. I and on the soft food stage and I am eating eggs, grits, mashed potatoes and things like that. But, it feels like food move extremely slow through my throat and it gets stuck at the end. I know we are not supposed to eat and drink at the same time but sometime one sip will move the food through. What am I doing wrong? -
I'm only on week 3.

Reflux: What Do You Take To Tame The Burn?
MsGee33 replied to PJ_Sleeve's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
My reflux was so bad I went to the ER the other night. My surgeon gave me an Rx for Pepcid and nausea meds. I have to take 2 Pepcid every eight hours and nausea meds when needed. I can't eat because everything burns except Popsicles and peanut butter. Since I can't eat anything I feel like the acid gets worse. I don't know how long I can take this. Any suggestions on acid friendly foods? -
Don't be discouraged or frustrated. It will happen at the right time. Many of us in here has experience similar set backs, but hold on and your day will come!

Yes, I did the two week low/no carb. That wasn't bad. Then, all liquids the day before. All in all the two weeks were not bad.

Dr Macik is great! He did my sleeve on 11/16 and i feel great! No pain issues other that gas (normal). Great dr great staff great experience!

I did the low/no carb diet. So a lot of veggies and grilled/ baked meats. Whole fruits and Water. I was glad I didn't have to do the liquid diet. I am like ten minutes from that new gym. My niece and I were thinking about joining there. We did the get in shape boot camp around the corner for five weeks and it was great!

It only gets better! I'm on day nine and I am learning everyday what my body can handle. I was afraid of not getting all my fluids in and being too weak to get all my walking done, but I feel stronger every day! My warning to you is to watch out for acid reflux! If you are drink broths make sure they are not too greasy and that you allow your stomach to digest it well before you go to bed.

Congratulations!!! I can only image how it feels to meet a goal!

My First Goal I Finally Hit It

lol @ shafts happen!!! Well I'm on my second week and gas is minimal. But, right after surgery I had a very painful gas bubble that stayed on my chest. It would not move until I was able to start walking. So, walk it out is my suggestion. I had it for at least 24 hours, but once it starts moving you'll be fine.

I'm doing great. Didn't get sick last night and I got more fluids in. I'm happy about that! Thank you!
