5 days post op, and I think I will start taking a daily dose of miraLax, as I've not gone yet, and I'm really tired of pain as it is. Good idea? or no?

I hear you...my scale is set with Dr. also...and the minute I came home, for grins I jumped (well not jumped really) on the scale to see how much stomach they took out and what it weighed...lol!! Heck, I was 4 lbs heavier than day of surgery...and it's only changed 1 lb up/down/up/down in last 5 days!! Do I take the miraLAX till I go? or just keep taking for "good measure" I wonder? I'm gonna wait to pull the scale back out for a couple more days...lol

I have to crush all meds that are not dissolvable or chewable, and continue to so during the 3week liquid post op diet. This is hard for me, I gag every time I try to get a crushed one down. I was told that can crush all your am's together and take at once, same at night. I chase mine with V8, helps tremendously.

Wonderful!! Should be easy peasy then! Just stay busy, be the one to get this that what not and maybe they will never noticed you didn't eat!! Good Luck, Enjoy!

well if you're taking a multi and the upcal....then that may constitute two kinds? my multi-formula has D, and B12, yet I'm also going to be taking straight B12 and a D daily....the multi, I take 3 times a day...and if I'm not mistaken, I'm probably suppose to start back up on my chewable Centrum multi vitamins....Lordy, can you overdose on vitamins? I need go see about that Centrum now that I thought about it...lol

I ordered Bariatric Advantage "Wild Berry Punch" Crystals, complete multi-formula with Calcium. I add a scoop to my liquid protien drinks that I have 3 times a day. Was told to start my sublingual weekly (I think) B12, and my chewable daily Vitamin D, one week after surgery. Hmmm, just sent my husband to Vitamin Shoppe to pick up Chocolate Truffle flavored Nectar Protein Whey whatchamajig, as I'm already tired of "ade" (like lemon ade), and "punch" flavors....but I don't think Wild Berry Crystals and Chocolate sound appetizing either..ugh. Fixin' to find out!

LHT, thx for the "the world accordingtoeggface"...I just "liked" her on FB. I guess we could all start a blog to give us more to do, than count the number of ounces of liquids we've had so far today...lol. Are ya'll taking Pepcid AC or the equivalent of? I was prescribed and told twice a day, but it had to be crushed...so well, I haven't taken one yet. Isn't that for reflux, heartburn? which I'm not having....so why take it? I am periodically taking GasX but not regularly...

I've grabbed my husband (who needs WLS also) and walked a couple of times today. 1st time was 4 houses down, 2nd time was 6 houses. This is a huge event for me, cuz b4 surgery I was seeing a chiropractor for low back pain...now I'm afraid all that work has been undone. Bored also, trying to watch "Liz and d**k"... ugh, not keeping my attention at all!

Thank goodness I don't work...I couldn't even imagine that thought right now. Managing this post op diet is work enough, and worth it, and hopefully a huge payoff in the end!!

ok, since someone opened the subject up....I was a 3-4x'r a day...surgery was this past Tuesday the 27th, and um when can I expect to drop the kids at the pool again? and will it kill me to do so?

you can do it! I'd think it would be fun and challenging!! let us know how it goes, the comments, etc. Don't cave in and tell if you don't want to....good luck, and enjoy the gathering!!

Wow...I'm 4 days post op....and am not even considering cottage cheese, thin cheese, cheese of any or sort (and I'm a cheeseaholic)...I'm either sipping 1 of 10 or more flavors of Chrystal Light all day, or 1 of the 3 16oz protien liquid drink required...there's a cup in my hand at all times it seems. Sounds like I'm doing ok, as I am able to get in the 48-64 oz's of liquids in a day...32 of which are protien drinks. Take care and keep on keeping on!!

@Mike...Awesomeness!!! @bbk Dallas, Forest Park... I love Dr. Nick also.. 5days post, my back and hips hurt as bad as my tummy, shoulders and neck...No complaints though! I'm just ready to keep pressing forward!!

Wow, cheese is what I'm missing most, but know way am I even gonna think about it until 4weeks out. My orders are liquid proteins and vitamins, and more liquids for 3 weeks.

Oh and I chew my thyroid med also, lucky it tastes like a baby aspirin..

I'm 3 days post op and having a real difficult time staying compliant with my meds. Thankfully, my discharge orders said to discontinue some. The very thought of tasting my crushed powdery meds, gag me. Tonight I'm going to try thinned V8 to mask taste.

Surgeon's orders, hospital staff and nutritionist adamant that meds crushed to a powder. Crushing my blood pressure med am, and my sleep aid, and mood pill pm. Not even taking the Pepcid prescribed, so one less powdery pill...

Omg, I just finished asking about lower back and hip pain on another page. I'm just 3 days post op...and besides feeling like a truck ran over me, my hips and lower back hurt so bad I can barely bend to sit on the toilet...ya'll all have lost weight, what's my reAson? The surgery? Really?

Same here, withdrew from site where they found a vein, crook of elbow, and yes they took a ton of vials of it...

Dr. Nick Nicholson... 3 days post now, and wondering if everyone is having as much pain as I am, in my lower back! I can hardly sit on the toilet! lol...of course, yes, still feel like a truck ran over me from the surgery... But should my lower back be this painful? I didn't get a wink of sleep during my overnight at hospital, and I had bed almost completely upright position the entire time. Hope that's not what screwed my back up.

Day 3 post op...That train came thru again and hit me last night again! My 2 Great Danes know something is wrong, and because my husband worked overnight last night, they were with me on the bed, and couldn't understand that their heads were to heavy to rest and snuggle on my belly!! I'm having a hard time being compliant with my blood pressure med, just the thought of tasting it crushed, gags me. So glad my Dr. ok'd to stop taking my cholesterol ones!! Other than stomach, shoulders, neck and my whole lower back in pain when I move... I'm doing great! lol Sipping the recommended 48-64 oz's of liquids, and not needing the Pepcid AC. Everyone take care... And know you are not alone! Now to try and let the Danes in... Ugh... lol
