I got a late start on my pre-op diet, started about 9 days before surgery, 2 Protein shakes and small dinner a day. I lost about 9 lbs. I'll be honest, I love margaritas, I mean just like people like their beer. I slowed up on them pre-op... and have not missed them at all post-op (1 week)!! Unbelievable!! Haven't even thought about 'em!! My husband still has his beer after work, doesn't faze me. Hope it's the same for you, cuz I've heard the same thing... No alcohol. Good luck!! Mokee said it best... I'm also 1 week out, and the 1st week is full time job getting Proteins in, liquids, Vitamins, etc...and walk. Took me about 4 days before I stepped outside and walked, should've been sooner, I'm sure! Congrats and good luck!! Sent from my iPhone using VST -

Hi, I'm 8 days post op and was wondering the same thing. I started walking ( just about 5 houses down and back) 4 days post op, and am only about 10 houses down now. I have yet to really feel like getting out or running short errands with my husband. I think I'm going to try, though, today. Maybe just to the post office and back. When did everyone feel most themselves, and were out and about and driving without issues? I know everyone is different, but an idea?? Sent from my iPhone using VST

I'm 1 week post op, and had your same concerns. I decided to take a softener ( miraLAX) before bed, 4 days post. This helped...I'm still taking each evening.. Sent from my iPhone using VST -

Thicker Liquids In Da Am......
GlendaLee replied to LHT's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
yep, 3 weeks full liquid diet. "All liquids must be very thin. It must be able to flow through a strainer easily"...says to avoid Jello, pudding, yogurt, mashed potatoes, cooked cereals etc these 1st 3 weeks...Day 22-42=soft foods...or me... enjoy your blended chili!! -
Mine was 11/27...when I walk, my belly feels real "tight", like I can't completely stand up straight...more pain on left side, where the stomach came out. I'm just now having less lower back and hip pain...still there, but has let up some. !st thing in the morning is worse, or the 1st attempt at rolling over in bed. I think this is all normal. I'm up and down a lot, preparing the next liquid to sip on for the next hour or so. If it is gas, you (or least I can) almost feel it move across from one side to the other side, right under the boobies...lol GasX strips does work! If you would have told me Tuesday that I would be able to pull myself out of bed, I would have shot you. But I have to say, each day is a tad bit better...just a tad, but noticeable. I'm just going to keep on keeping on...!!

Favorite Things To Sip On!
GlendaLee replied to SeriouslyChange's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
hmmmm, by the time I get my "breakfast" protein finished, it's "lunch"...and well right now I'm 1/2 finished with the "dinner" one (16oz each)....this evening will be a miraLAX coctail, lol! That's 55 ounces of liquid a day...that's cool, right? oh, and none are my favorite...just tolerable...hope it's okay, that my protiens are going in sippery slow... -

Crushed Meds... Again
GlendaLee replied to GlendaLee's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Not huge, none are...luckily was able to discontinue quite a few meds...but not blood pressure, and I take mood pill and sleep pill...told to crush crus crush.... I think crushing the blood pressure one is absorbing wacky or whatnot and affecting my vision... does that make sense? Sent from my iPhone using VST
