Oh my!! My hubby bought me done Moscato for tonight, I've been alcohol free since 2 weeks b4 surgery. I was soooo anticipating it, took a few sips, and I could feel it all the way down... Yes, warm tingle sensation. I think my Dr,'s prefers never, but if have to, 6 months out. I'm a Margarita girl, and it's been tough, but so far have held off. The Moscato, yummy! Looking for Negative stories! What are the Cons if any?
GlendaLee replied to Lorelei's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Welcome, and good luck in your research. As mentioned above, you can search key words, ER, Pain, leaks, etc... I believe the pros out weigh the cons, but you definitely need to know all the risks involved. This is wonderful, supportive, tell you like it is, forum. They held my hand for 10 days of significant pain, that I'm just now getting relief from. But I have no regrets in my decision to have WLS. Sent from my iPhone using VST -
I'm almost 4 weeks post-op, and the last couple of days, I am experiencing excessive pain on my left side. The best description is it feels like a tree branch is trying to poke out of me. Hurts to stand, walk, breath, except when sitting or sleeping. Pain meds doing nothing, not even taking the edge off. My tree isn't even decorated yet... what is this pain? Sooo, do I continue pain med or no? I'm scared to stop it, but would like to save it if not necessary. Is it really gone, or just medicated gone? Am I making sense? Sent from my iPhone using VST

Ya'll are too funny!! Liz, so glad you feeling a bit better and you are home. My 2 Great Danes knew I was feeling better today, because they always want to rest their head on my belly, which has been a no-no for awhile now, until today...big ol' babies! What did the ghost say to the bee? Boo Bee!! Sent from my iPhone using VST -

YA'LL!! We've had a break-thru!! I just got up for my 5th or 6th dose of pain med (which I just recieved yesterday afternoon)...and it is almost a complete turn a round from this morning!! I rose from bed, and from habit placed my left hand over belly for support, walked to kitchen...and stood there a minute, straightened my back...thought I was dreaming...I walked 2 times around our pool table...and well....I HAVE RELIEF!! And guess what Tutu? This is the 10th day from when it started! So, I'm not sure if I'm healing or I'm numbing it, but oh what a relief!! So now, I guess I will make sure to move like Frankenstein, no twists, bends, or handstands...I'm not even picking up the dogs water bowl (I used a water pitcher to fill it)...Oh please oh please let it be that whatever it was, that has kept me in bed, sent me to ER, and kept my brain busy with the thought...be healing... Thank each and everyone one of you for holding my hand along the way! And pray I have not spoken to soon. I want to jump for joy!! Bad idea, huh??

Have Any Of You Eaten Solid Food Before You Were Supposed To?

Resting.... lol Sent from my iPhone using VST -
Yes, I did bring up muscle relaxer... I can't get past the medical assistant, she has her script down perfect... "We usually tell patients Blah blah etc etc"... She has said the exact same thing every time I've called. When I started crying with pain and frustration, she refilled the liquid pain prescription. It's allowing me to get out of bed now, but not much more. It's just frustrating when they tell you to listen to your body, but they won't listen to you, or so it seems to me. It's been over a week, ready to feel improvement any day now...the sooner the better. It's just a bit of a setback, albeit a painful one...but I know there is worse out there than me... Have Any Of You Eaten Solid Food Before You Were Supposed To?
GlendaLee replied to ginajet77's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
It is entirely because of Iggy's story that I followed my conservative surgeon's rule. I was liquids only for 3 weeks, and then even when I could start soft foods, I didn't as my fridge and pantry weren't prepped yet. I'm 4 weeks out and still crushing pills to a powder, taking no chances. Although I have unexplained pain for the last week, I know in my heart of hearts it wasn't for lack of following instructions, EXCEPT maybe I did bend or twist a wrong way. So not only follow surgeons diet, but don't take for granted your activity level either. Sent from my iPhone using VST -
Would 8:15pm please hurry... one dose ain't cuttin' it...If I was in New York, I'd be on my 2nd dose... lol... gotta laugh to keep from crying.. my husband is losing his sympathy for me... Sent from my iPhone using VST

Time To Check Out My Hospital's Er!
GlendaLee replied to lizv123's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Absolutely wonderful your home!!! Forget about the house... that's what I'm having to do ( some pain issues with me for a week now)... Really really so happy you are out of the hospital!! Sent from my iPhone using VST -
Talked to my dr.'s office yesterday, filled 'em in, pain a week old now...ABSOLUTELY no change, feels like razor blades are trying to pop out of me. Dr. gave me "this is normal, try not to bend, twist, etc". Believe me I'm not, I'm barely getting up to go to the restroom, and can hardly clean myself.(sorry, but true). My husband finally home a couple of days and heading to CVS for 2 binders, as someone suggested, since XL barely fit. I hope they velcro together and fit, and gives some relief. We delayed our Christmas with his children and grandchildren until January 1 (because his work, my pain). The house needs cleaning, things need done... and I liked to hold my 2 two new grandchildren. Awww dang this sucks... Is everyone sure it goes away? My whole routine is shot for the last week now, walking, getting Protein in, liquids, Vitamins, everything...So sorry for the complaining, dang it! Sent from my iPhone using VST

Aww Thank you Kapoor... It was very short lived, due to the "winter storm". He was called in early today, probably home tonight for 8 hrs, back all day tomorrow. Staying upbeat, talking to my 3 dogs, putting my winter scarfs around them, and laughing at their reaction...Just a little relief from this pain would help...no changes, all I can do is sit and lay down, haven't taken any Vitamins, have had no Protein shakes... nothing. A big ol' margarita sounds good! Ho Ho Ho!! DFW area got a white Christmas!! That's something! It was 75 degrees 3 days ago!! Thank you everyone for listening!! Y'all are a blessing! Hope everyone is having a fabulous Christmas! Sent from my iPhone using VST
