I was sleeved in Mexico. Im not getting all my Protein or fluids in. I havent done any exercise bc of being tired too. Ive lost 15lbs. Im 40yrs old, starting weight was 208lbs and now im 193lbs. Ill loose weight slower bc of a lower bmi. Im totally ok with that. Im kinda worried i'll loose too much. Tomorrow I start mushy food. Im not sure if im ready but ill try. I also had a hernia fixed. Im also on some acid med. The doc told me to take it for the next 3mths. Glad to know what im feeling is normal.

HELP! Not related to VST!
happydaisy replied to mezanne1401's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I say pull it back. You dont want to look like your going out, you want to look professional. Thats just my opinion. Good luck. -
I have been reading that its pretty normal to feel weak. I was sleeved on Dec 13th and still feel weak. I even heard it can take like 2mths to feel better. I guess everybody is different. I do have to remind myself that I did have major surgery.

I cant seem to find this one. Who makes it? -
Im 13dys post op and ate some creme of wheat with some butter and sugar yesterday. After eating like 2oz, I got stuck (at least I think I did) My creme of wheat was very runny. I even had to stir it just to get another spoonful. Well, I started feeling the chest pain and was trying my best to burp for about ten minutes, then my mouth began to water, then off to the bathroom and I threw up. But whats weird I didnt throw up creme of wheat. I threw up a clear liquid. Gosh it even came out of my nose. (Sorry). Is that what is called the "slimies?" Im still not quit sure why it happened. I guess im just not ready for it? I dont understand how ive could of gotten stuck. Maybe the creme of wheat settled at the bottom of my tummy like it did in my cup? Any input?

Day 13: What are you eating?

Now that's funny. -
I am scheduled for surgery on Dec. 13, 2012. I was wondering if I could get some input from past sleevers that have had the VSG with a bmi under 35. I wonder if this is such a drastic measure just to loose about 60lbs. I don't have any diabetes, high blood pressure, etc. Im just tired of being overweight. Of course, I don't want to get too thin either. I like having my curves. I am also getting pretty nervous about this surgery. I ask myself, should I really do this? I also can't find any sleevers past 5 yrs postop. How will I be at 70yrs old. (im 40 right now).

Day 13: What are you eating?
happydaisy replied to shrinkadonk's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was sleeved on dec 13th and on full liquids. I have soup but I dilute it to be less dense. I tried more dense soup but felt I wasnt ready for it bc I got th at stuck feeling. I am careful to listen to my body. I bought lamadalines potatoe soup and ate 2/3rds of it. I took my time, enjoyed and felt full. I couldnt stand the chicken broth anymore so I made myself some beans in the crock pot. I let the beans really cook until my bean juice was a bit thicker. Yummy. I only ate/drank the juice. I also buy creme soups and thin them out with broth. If they have bits of food in it, i strain it. Take your time in trying new foods. If I start feeling bad then I push it to the side and will try again another time or strain it and try again. I had a rough two weeks. At this point im only concerned in feeling better and getting my strength back. I can focus on the weight loss later. I know it will come off on its own. Ive lost 12lbs since surgery. Focus on what works for you and follow your docs instructions. -
Go to Mexico. Its self pay. If u r self pay some docs here in the US will do it.

Kellee , wow, ur eating solids at 2 1/2 weeks? Gosh I guess every doc is different bc I got to be on clear liquids for 10dys, then full liquids 10dys, then puree soft for another 10. How is ur sleeve handling it?

I had it done on dec 13th. I feel pretty good today. Im just doing my best to get my liquids in. I felt weak this morning but felt better after I drank my protein. So far, uhm, yeah, I regret it. When my family eats, im drinking my stupid chicken broth. Then again, im only 4 days postop. I love food and im starting to get frustrated bc I cant have real food. I reassure myself by reminding myself i can eat normal and whatever I want just smaller portions but just not right now. I get on this forum and read posts that are about 2-3months postop and get encouraged. I am embarrassed that im starting to get frustrated being only 4dys out. Oh well, cant change it now, gotta move forward, but the way I feel right now, I would rather not have done this. Going vegan sounds more appealing. Then again, how long would that last?

Sleeved In Mexicali! Warning: Really Long ;)

I had my surgery in mexicali on dec 13th. Dr. Aceves and their staff, nurses and everyone there were very kind. My husband said the people at the cafeteria were very professional and pleasant. I have to admit the attention given at this hospital and the doctor was a whole lot better than I have ever received here in the states. -
I was sleeved on dec 13th, how soon did you begin to feel normal again? I feel ok, but when I drink liquid it feels like it gets stuck in my throat. It seems it gets better as each day goes by.
